hi

well todays my last day for this little one to decide to come out on his own, still not holding out much hope as nothing seems to be starting. think i might of had the start of a show yesterday, but that don't really mean anything coz some people have it 2 wks before. well i expect ill be back on again later, as im so bored of all this waiting and starting to get abit nervous about 2moro so i need something to take my mind of it.

Brighteyes · 05/06/2005 12:59

congratulations noggermum and good luck for tomorrow 18mumtobe

Holly290505 · 05/06/2005 13:54

HI everyone and thanks for the glittery baby thoughts tab - I'm not in labour though . Its dp's b'day tomorrow so maybe she's holding out as a present...?! Fingers crossed.

Good luck tomorrow 18mumtobe - will be thinking of you - at least you will have your little bundle before I get mine induced! Apparently I am good for the induction though in terms of effacement etc so lets hope if we do go that long (wed) that its not too long and drawn out (goodbye nice waterbirth...sob)

Anyway lots of luck and sending baby dust your way too xxx

18mumtobe · 05/06/2005 16:08

thanx holly290505, yeah im going in 2moro but i wouldn't be surprised if it takes till wednesday to get this little bugger out, considering how stuburn he's been so far.
don't give up all hope you still have a couple of days to go, and knowing what these babies are like it will prob decide to come the day before.
i was hoping that would be the case for me but, it don't seem too likely now.
im starting to get real nervous now, and don't think ill be able to sleep much tonight, but ill have to try as im gonna need all the energy ive got.
i surpose up until now i have been thinking about it, but it really is happening 2moro and its quite weird to think that when i go in 2moro the next time i go home will be with a new little life that totally depends on me, its quite frightening but also very exciting.
and just remember its only a few days for you now too, even though we're not getting the births we really wanted, the main thing is the babies are gonna be ok and we'll finally get to meet them.
ill be thinking of you over the next few days and fingers crossed you go before wednesday
take care and try to stay positive even though i know its easy said than done.

ABow · 06/06/2005 11:11

Hi all. Just to let you know that I had a baby girl on Saturday 28th May. Called Thea and she is a little goddess. Good luck to everyone still to drop!

logic · 06/06/2005 16:39

Congratulations Abow! Please join us on the postnatal thread. We have a may stats thread too if you'd like to contribute to that...

Holly290505 · 06/06/2005 19:22

Still no baby here - will i be the last?? Half the june thread will be mum's before me!

Have spent all day at the hospital being monitored and there were 5min contractions this morning then nothnig this afternoon. N change in 3cm dilation all day either. Now resigned to being induced on wednesday

tab · 07/06/2005 09:52

Congratulations ABow and welcome to little Thea! Well done

Oh Holly290505, you poor thing !! I cant believe that you're having to wait this long when all of the may list now seem to have deserted this thread. I will keep sending baby glittery thoughts your way today and tomorrow. Just think , the end of tomorrow you should have a little warm bundle to hold!!. It'll be worth the wait althoug it doesnt seem like it now. Hope youre not feeling too uncomfortable.

Maybe try and get some sleep if you can. All the best for tomorrow.

ABow · 07/06/2005 10:00

Holly290505 I'll send glittery baby thoughts too. Maybe with a group effort we can help

Logic - I found the post-natal thread and its soooo helpful! But my brain isn't working properly and I can't find the stats thread. Can you give me a hint?

logic · 07/06/2005 14:29

may stats here

shhhh · 07/06/2005 17:08

Holly290505 , i'm thinking of you. Going 9 days over must not be much fun, Freya came the day (or should I say hours) after my due day, I was uncomfortable and big and really wanted baby to be born...I can't imagine how you feel going over like you have.....You haven't posted today so either you are:

  1. Catching up on your sleep
  2. Gone into labour (in which case good luck)
  3. Sat in the glorious sunshine and as comfortable as can be
  4. Can't be bothered no more and are out or trying to take your mind of the wait.........

I hope all goes well for the impending birth and like Tab says, soon you to will have your little long awaited for baby. Keep smiling

18mumtobe · 10/06/2005 12:02

hi everyone

Matthew Russell Leggett has finally arrived. he made his apperance on tuesday 7th, at 7.30am and weighed 7lb 11oz. Had natural birth, was in labour for 17 hours after being induced. the secong stage was only an hour and didn't feel a thing as had epidural after 8 hrs of labour. (thank god for whoever invented them) well mum and baby are doing fine and he's the most beautiful thing ive ever seen, can't believe how much we love him already.

hope everyone else has now become a mummy too. take care everyone and enjoy your babies.

logic · 10/06/2005 12:07

Holly290505 · 10/06/2005 17:49

Hi all and thanks for all the baby wishes- have posted story on postnatal thread and birth announcements but i'll put it here too....

Ruby Annabelle arrived at 4.50 am on 8/6/05, nine days late weighing 8lb exactly. She is absolutely perfect and has tons of black hair. Mummy and Daddy are very, vey happy!

For those who can cope with the gory details...

Waters broke at 7.30am on Tuesday, 24 hours before I was due for induction. Labour started at about 8.30 and I coped OK with TENS and birthing ball at home til about 2.30pm. Arrived at hospital 4cm dilated and the consultant insisted I stay on labour ward not go to birth centre - by this stage I was past caring and was fine in the bath with gas and air til about 9pm.

Was still only 6cm at 9.30pm and had to have synotocin drip and catheter in case bladder was in the way. Also strapped to monitor and stuck lying down. Medical history meant no epidural so still only on gas and air and TENS. Finally got to 10cm at 3am after 17 hours of contractions 3mins apart. At 4am midwife called doctors in realising that I was pushing to little avail as her head was emerging sideways with her hand on her forhead. There was lots of panic as heartrate on monitor dipped.

I was put in stirrups and it was then another 50mins of pushing along with ventouse and episiotomy before doctor managed to twist Ruby the right way round and deliver her at 4.50am.

Unbelievably there is not a mark on her bar a small bruise on her hand and she had an immediate APGAR score of 10. We were warned she would be fractious due to ventouse headache but so far she has been a perfect little angel, sleeping and feeding well.

I am sore, coping with the stitches and a bit traumatised by it all but very thankful to be a mum at last! Have put a puc on member profiles. Lots of love to all May/June(!) mums and babies. Special congrats 18mumtobe...we did it!

Brighteyes · 10/06/2005 22:23

congratulations 18mumtobe and Holly. Does this mean we have all graduated to the post natal thread now?

18mumtobe · 11/06/2005 14:34

thanx holly, special congrats to you too. can't believe we finally did it. YEAH WE ARE MUMS AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanx everyone for the congratulations. just so glad to finally have the baby boy ive been waiting so long for, and i can't believe how perfect he is.

hollya · 17/06/2005 19:12

hi everyone, hope all is ok.
a little tip for everyone- don't try moving house with a 2 week old baby and painful stiches. it's not all that fun!!
still in absolute chaos and i just don't seem to have any time to unpack, what with alice the eating machine constantly demanding grub!
she is getting more beautiful by the day and she smiled for the first time yesterday, but it was for my mum not me!
