Here it is ladies. Shall we start with a roll call like the efficient ladies over on April 2005?

Congratulations hollya and welcome baby Alice

Tinker · 22/05/2005 20:34

Oh good news hollya and Missblossom.

Eliza also decided to arrive yesterday after having a sweep on Friday. Contractions started at 7.30, she was out by just after 10.00 am. Ouch, and yes, stitches here too due to another fast labour but she's gorgeous and glad it's all over. Good luck to those still waiting.

dabihp · 23/05/2005 10:37

HI, is everyone else still here too....?

Am cleaning in the hope it will get things going... not working so far....

Preggars · 23/05/2005 10:40

Well done to all of you, and good luck to those still waiting.

i've just posted the birth announcement. will try and get ds1 down earlier tonight, so can tell you all about dd1 and that painful birth! mother-of-two now. feels amazing.

tab · 23/05/2005 12:22

Congratulations Tinker and Hollya. I feel very envious. you both sound like you had quick births which is brilliant. WEll done!

Dabihp when are you due? My due date is tomorrow. I too have been cleaning and cooking and generally trying to keep busy.

I cant believe how big I am and feel very worried that this baby is just getting too big to ever squeeze out. Was so uncomfortable last night I considered ringing the hospital and demanding an on the spot caesarian!! I wish the midwife hadnt said it would probably come early because every twinge made me think it would.

How're you doing maymum, flying dog, 18mumtobe and Fashill. One of us is likely to be next!! I cant wait til its over now. Im just feeling really apprehensive.

dabihp · 23/05/2005 12:38

Am due on friday 27th. Am massive too, cant wait to have baby... any signs tab?

shhhh · 23/05/2005 13:22

tinker, hollya and missblossom CONGRATULATIONS !!! Glad all has gone well with the birth even if yours was traumatic missblossom at least it had a happy ending.
I too had stiches which are still uncomfortable now and the spd I suffered with while carrying Freya seems to still be here all worth it though...the 9 months of worry, pain and stress....

By the way we have finally decided on a middle name for Freya...Freya Isabella...We have since looked up the meaning of the names:

Freya: Godess of Love & fertility. (strange esp as it took us 4 years to finally have her)Also means precious
Isabella: Beautiful

Is anyone else quite emotional..?? I'm sure dh is gonna leave me due to all the crying I am doing ! He's being brilliant and really supportive but I can't understand why I am sooooo upset ! I just look at Freya and cry and even reading congratulations cards makes me cry, even thinking that this time last week I was about 1.5 hrs off having her...I'm not sad and love her so much but just can't explain it..Anyone else the same or am I going mad.?

PS good luck to those of you who are still waiting. The waiting is nearly over.xx

tab · 23/05/2005 13:22

so not long then dabihp (hopefully). Ive had a lot of pains in lower region - making me think that something is going to happen. Because my waters broke last time, I keep expecting that to happen when I feel any twinge. Apart from that just general discomfort and itching really badly. How about you?

18mumtobe · 23/05/2005 17:40

congratulations tinker and hollya. glad all went well and lucky you for the speedy births, hope it doesn't take to long for you to recover. lovely names too.

fashill · 23/05/2005 17:46

I feel a bit funny today, headaches and shaky, just had the midwife and she says it could be the start of things.... I really hope so!! Been getting lots of tingling in cervix and last night kept feeling like something was really pushing down.

tab - are you itching all over too?!?

Went and saw my friends newborn yesterday and another friend has gone into labour today. I'm sooo

fashill · 23/05/2005 17:50

Just reading back to see what's been happening as too much to remember!! Any news on muppety?!?

18mumtobe · 23/05/2005 18:00

hi tab

not doing to bad, only 2 days till im due now. don't feel like anythings happening though, are you having any positive signs things are gonna start soon. ive been trying to keep busy but most of the time i just haven't got the energy.
well lets hope its not too long for the rest of us now and soon we're all be holding our babies. (fingers crossed)

18mumtobe · 23/05/2005 18:04

just a quick question to everyone. how can you tell your getting pain in your cervix? what does it feel like. ive been getting alot of tummy pains but not really sure if there anything to do with baby or just an upset tummy. how will i know the difference?
sorry if a stupid question but this is all a first for me.

fashill · 23/05/2005 18:09

18mumtobe - I can only describe it as feeling like I need a wee and like a tingling feeling up in my vagina.

i don't think so myermay but thanx for answering.

yeak its quite weird to think that in a couple of weeks it will all be over and we're all have our little babies finally. im getting really fed up now.

18mumtobe · 23/05/2005 18:38

thanx too fashill, i wish i wasn't all so new at this and knew what to expect abit more.

fashill · 23/05/2005 19:19

Myermays description sounds a bit better than mine!!

I'm new to this too so don't really know what to expect either

tab · 23/05/2005 19:30

Hi 18mumtobe - i think the pain in the cervix is lower down. I cant remember that well but it is definitely something new, something you havent felt before and I think you have this kind of intuition when things are really getting going. Maybe feeling a bit shivery and shaky and the pain will get regular and then quicker and stronger. Its very difficult to anticipate but you will know and Im sure you will be fine. The thing is everybody's story is completely different. Im always amazed at how much it can vary.

Fashill, sounds like something might be happening. Hope Im right. I just feel so bored and fed up. I cant remember feeling like this last time. Not really any proper signs and on 2nd labour where a lot of babies dont descend til labour, you cant even reassure yourself that the babe's in the right position. Yes and Im very itchy. This morning I scratched my leg so much it started to bleed! Weird I didnt have that last time.

Oh come on babies! Peole keep ringing me up to ask if there's any news. I keep telling them that they will get a phone call IF ANYTHING EVER HAPPENS!!! Im off to make a chicken risotto. Dh went to Sainsburys to get a pineaple but there werent any so Ive drunk a cup of raspberry leaf tea in the hope that might lead to something. NOt sure if I have the energy or inclination for any bedroom activities though!!
Good luck everyone - perhaps tonight will be the night Fashill, maymum, flyingdog(?), dabihp and myermay and 18mumtobe. Here's hoping.

Myermay if its any consolation, Ive been leaking too. Ive been using pads for ages now. Depressing - makes you feel like an old lady!!

Good luck everyone ,

dabihp · 23/05/2005 19:40

Am seriously hoping baby won't decide to come tonight, I am knackered, and feel quite sick, no regular tightenings, but sods law, baba will change all that!

Good luck everyone...

fashill · 23/05/2005 19:40

tab - I got prescribed piriton and told to use calamine lotion for my itching, seems to be helping but in the night I find I scratch until I bleed too and it wakes me up, Have been told it should disappear after baby is born so hope something does happen soon...

Good luck to whoever is next, wonder how many of us will end up as June mums

Holly290505 · 24/05/2005 06:00

All these announcements all at once! Really feeling for those still in the late club - I'm not due for another 5 days and I feel like I'm going mad already (mind you it is 6am...)

Have been taking RL tea tablets since 32 weeks (anyone know if its more effective to break them open and make the tea - sounds grim but i'd give it a go!), had a curry last night, sex on Saturday and have a whole pineapple to get through. Oh yes, and reflexology on Wednesday. The only thing that seemed to be remotely effective was the sex - lots of dragging cervix pains and twinges....but then it stopped. Not sure how much of sex at 39+2 I can take...(not exactly comfy or romantic is it???)

Any other ideas???? GOT to get this baby out - i WILL be a May mum!! Good luck everyone and congrats to those with their bundles
