Here it is ladies. Shall we start with a roll call like the efficient ladies over on April 2005?

Congratulations muppety, I wondered what had happened!! Hope you feel better soon

Went to an NCT bumps and babes class today which was nice to have a chat about birth experiences etc. Felt extremely uncomfortable in the heat today and I'm not even that big, so everyone keeps telling me. After drying my hair this morning I felt like I needed another shower! Really hope baby does come on time as supposed to be scorchio at the weekend! Doing everything I can to get things started I've had sex twice today, had 3 cups of RLT, had 1/2 a pineapple, did a big tesco shop and walked loads!! Please something happen.... Have been getting a lot of BH this evening too and still feeling a bit shaky and nauseous so fingers crossed

tab if you fancy a trip to w london they had loads of pineapples in tescos!

fashill · 25/05/2005 19:49

And myermay I'm doing the 1471 thing too Feel bad but fed up of having the same conversation with everyone 'no nothing happening I'll let you know when it does, etc, etc...'

ABow · 25/05/2005 21:00

Thanks Holly29/05/05 and myermay. Went to see Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Time flew by and didn't notice how long I was sat in one place. It was actually not bad and laughed hard enough to set off some serious contractions

hollya · 25/05/2005 22:20

congrats to everyone who have had theirs little bundles in the last few days!

anyone considering a waterbirth do it!! i was offered one when in established labour and it was wonderful! really helped with the pain and was definately more relaxing. also you do feel a big sense of acomplishment because the midwife doesn't really interfere, she just lets you get on with it and you deliver the baby yourself.

dabihp · 26/05/2005 08:11

Hey everyone, amm due tomorrow. have eaten a whole pineapple for the last FIVE days and NOTHING!!!

sigh...

Good luck to everyone still waiiting, hope we all have babies soon!!

tab · 26/05/2005 09:29

Hallo everyone. WEll I finally managed to track down a pineapple this morning and bought 2 just in case. Remember that we have to eat the core as apparently that's the important bit. Dabihp, you sound like you're going to turn into a pineapple!! Oh and thankyou Fashill for the tip. I think I would have made the trip to Tescos in W London if we hadnt located one this morning!! you sound like you're going all guns on the self help pineapple/sex etc. Go for it girl! Ive been trying to sit upright with legs down rather than lying on sofa but it's impossible after about 9.00pm!! I did lots of walking yesterday. Sitting in the car is so uncomfortable - or is that just me?

I have a midwive's appt this morning so hopefully she will tell me that this bundle has actually engaged now or just be able to tell me something at least. Definitely feels different. But may be me imagining it.

Good luch Fashill, Dabihb and all you others still waiting. It could be us today. I seem to get most of my twinges/pain in the evenings but no proper contractions.

Yes, and if that phone rings one more time .....!

muppety · 26/05/2005 10:35

Good luck to those of you who are left!!!

I think I must be a huge wimp. I couldn't lift ds1 if my life depended on it and am breathless going upstairs! Maybe my anaemia and bruising is to blame. I keep torturing myself with 'what if I had tried for a normal delivery?' but I guess I will never know the outcome and at least this way I have a health baby.

Why did you have sections uwila and missblossom? Definately wish I had tried arnica. Why do these rich and famous pay thousands for their elective sections? Really don't get it!!!!

18mumtobe · 26/05/2005 12:43

hi everyone, hope all is well.

well ive joined the late club now and im not happy about it(not that anyone would be of course) feeling really fed up and just want this baby out now, even though im terrified of when it actually happens.
saw mw this morning and baby is further done and in a really good position, so she said its just the waiting game now(like i don't already know that) still haven't really felt any twinges i don't think, had a few tightnings last night but nothing to get excited about.
hope it happens for one of us waiters soon, don't think i can wait another 12 days and really don't want to be induced.
well sending baby thoughts your way all those still waiting.

fashill · 26/05/2005 13:17

Well I don't know if it's all my tea, pineapple etc or the excitement of the football but had a false labour all night last night. Had contractions/BH every hour, not too painful but kept waking me up and the clock was at 36 mins past the hour every time. Was really thinking it could be it and slept in between. Had my last one at 9.36 this morning and then they just stopped Still don't feel quite right though and getting BH but they're irregular

Well at least we know it's not going to be much longer for us

Just off for more pineapple & RLT, going for a walk and making a chilli for dinner later!!

Anyone know why when you get prepared pineapple they cut the core out?!? I find it really nice

shhhh · 26/05/2005 14:38

Myermay LOL about getting your toes done.!!! I was the same, I was obsessed with making sure they looked just right for the birth god knows why! I had acrylic nails applied to my toes so they had the french manicure look and didn't need much up keep ! My mum took great delight in telling everyone who visited me, shes so sure that baby is going to follow in mums footsteps and also end up with acrylic nails, toes and regular visits to the beauty & hair salon !!!

I also agree with hollya about a water birth. I got into the birthing pool at 3-4cm's and dilated to 10cm's within about 5-6 hours which apparently is good. I agree that it was also good pain relief and for someone who is v soft about pain I can't believe that I gave birth with only gas & air !!! . i'm a hero in dh eyes.!

tab · 26/05/2005 17:21

Hallo. Still nothing. Midwife said baby has engaged and 4/5 descended so that was really good news. Feeling very uncomfortable but absolutely nothing is happening.

Have eaten a pineapple and drunk rlt. I know there are loads of things I could be doing around the house but I just feel so bored and dont feel like doing any of them. Today has gone very slowly. midwife was talking about 41 week appt at the hosp next week - something has to happen before then!!

Got salmon for supper. Perhaps some more omega oils will convince baby that the sensible thing is to make an appearance!

Aaaaargh! Im so-ooooo-ooo bored. Sorry, just had to let that out . Here's looking to tonight girls. chances must be greater that one of us will drop soon!!! Good luck ! Speak to you tomorrow - at least footballer's wives is on later.

fashill · 26/05/2005 17:43

tab your life sounds exactly like mine!!

I'm really bored too and have done 2 more washes today, had a long bath, cooked tonights chilli, been surfing and really should've done the hoovering but just can't bothered in this heat, hopefully DP will do it when he gets back before our walk!

Can't wait for footballers wives either, daytime tv is just soooo rubbish

anyone else considering/offered a sweep to get things going?

Am due tomorrow and considerign asking midwife at chekc up if she willl do one? what do u think?

Missblossom · 26/05/2005 18:55

Muppety.

I had a section because I had an abruption, the placenta had started to come away.

I went for induction last tuesday, pain was getting really bad by 11 that night, I asked to be examined and when the mw examined me my waters went, and it was full of blood, so it was all panic stations after that. Quite scarey when I think back and I realise how close I came to losing Luca.

Mayermum, my other 4 kids have been great so far with the baby even the 4 yr old, no jealousy so far,(touch wood)

hi mayermum,

the blood was comming behind the placenta where it had started to come away.

I was given one lot of prostin at 10 am and then another lot at 5pm which started my labour off. But at 11 that night there was still no change because his head was to high, it was to big for my pelvis. When the mw was examining me thats when my water went and thats when they found the blood. But his heartbeat was still strong.

ABow · 27/05/2005 11:05

Missblossom - that sounds scary. Thankfully everything turned out OK.

Dabahip - booked in for a (possible) sweep. In fact I was booked in for the sweep and induction even before I was late. From what mw told me, there's no point in doing a sweep unless you've already started to dilate. If you're already dilating a bit it may hurry things along. If you're not dilating it will mostly probably not work.

Feel like hell today. One foot has swollen up so much I can't get my shoes on. can't bend the fingers on my right hand properly so keep dropping everything. Bump and back ache like hell. And just about everything is getting on my nerves. If the cat doesn't stop meowing..... And to top it all I've just stubbed my bloody toe!

Just thought I'd let you know that my waters started breaking just after 3pm in a restaurant!!Just waiting for DP to take me into the hospital as also getting contractions so watch this space... Exciting and bang on time too!! I'll probably be back home soon though!

dabihp · 27/05/2005 18:44

OH!!! Well done fashill....

I am due today too, but apart form feeling a little crampy - intermittently- nothing to report...

Will await birth announcements from everyone -

tab · 28/05/2005 10:46

Hallo everyone. Miss blossom - well done for coming through what you did. It sounds very scary and you must have been so worried.

Myermay, Fashill and Dabihp any news??

Our good news is that the new baby boy arrived safe and sound following home delivery at 3.15pm yesterday (27th). 60 cms long and wait for it ...... 10 lb and 14 oz!! Cant believe I did that on gas and air and am still completely in shock. biggest placenta midwives had ever seen and quite bad stiches. But he's beautiful and its such a huge relief! Got to go back to bed now. Will post a birth announcement and hope that the remainder of the May babes will arrive very soon!
Good luck to anyone still waiting!

18mumtobe · 28/05/2005 12:38
