Grumpy I feel ancient as well. I have one of those cast iron beds, which is v useful to hoik myself to turn over in the night. Dp helpfully suggested installing ropes in the ceiling - bonkers S&M dungeon immediately sprang to mind (some bloke who I was sort of 'seeing' years ago wanted us to go to a cottage in the middle of nowhere which was, erm, specifically built for those kind of relations. I DIDN'T GO!!!!)

Ahem

I found the last edge bit! Dalmations are still pissing me off though. Just cried my eyes out at 'International Velvet' - oooh I used to be SO into ponies 30 odd years ago. This maternity leave lark is quite good fun!

Ooooooh good luck divedaisy! Blimey, theres not going to be many of us due soon - us end of May-ers will be left glugging our raspberry tea on this thread, whilst all the new mums will be on another one. Booohooo. Can we not have a post natal thread till we've all had our LOs?

Momino · 22/04/2009 13:44

for those of you planning to meet in YOrk, please see my facebook message. am happy to leave at 27th but could more of us make it if we do tues?

Belgianchocolates · 22/04/2009 13:59

chocbunnies as ever Dandy has some brilliant advise there. Actually I thought of another present you could ask for. It would even be for you: maybe someone would be willing to pay for a babysitter for you, as a present. Someone did that for us, so we could enjoy our first night together.

divedaisy good luck. Hope that either you bp settles or you have you lo soon

I know the feeling old thing. When I went to the shops yesterday little old ladies were quicker than me. Getting up from bed is probably the worst part of the day for me. It's the bit when you're tilted and somewhere inbetween sitting and lying, I think it makes my pelvis go out of line and that is extremely painful. Once I've got going it's better.

Momino · 22/04/2009 14:09

dandy, very impressed at your advice and solutions [makes a note to remember to ask Dandy when I'm in a rut in the future], hope it helps for poor choco b.

ladyhelenatealltheeggs · 22/04/2009 14:26

chocolatebunnies just logged back on to read of your stress. You poor thing. I find it hard to believe your family are being so insensitive.Whose wedding it is?? I hope you manage to get it resolved. Am sure you will and will manage to have a lovely and memorable day for all the right reasons.

divedaisy all the best. Will be thinking of you. Sounds remarkably similar to what happened to me with DS too.

grumpy your posts make me hoot. A good test for the pelvic floor! But totally relate to the getting out of bed scenario!

Just back from reflexology. As predicted fell asleep and woke self up snoring! She said my feet are "hot" but not in the convetional sense. Could mean something happening... Am going to ask MW about a sweep when I see her tomorrow. I think this Lo is ready now! Well I am anyway.

Have tried sitting in garden so can enjoy the sunshine but garden furniture clearly not made with preganant women in mind. So have opened patio doors and am going to watch some rubbish telly. Will no doubt fall asleep again...

Dandy Thank you so much for all your advice, thankfully my friend has pulled through and will have Madi for me next week so I can get ready, so now next job is to see if something can be arranged for wedding night. Will keep im mind your suggestions re wedding list/presents. I have already spoken to DP about the football, it wouldnt be a problem really if it were saturday night a id just have an early night, but it would be from lunch time til evening, so its a real waste of a day for me and madi and we wont be able to do anything special, he wont budge though, is out-rightly refusing to not go as its so close to the end of the season, I dont think bribery will work on him as well as it does Madi though so I might just have to suck it up and deal with it!

Thank you for all your support gals, it really helps to be able to off load on here and know that people are always here for you.

frazzledoldbag · 22/04/2009 14:51

I too want a hotline to dandy who is overwhelmingly sensible and dispenses such fab advice. We love you dandy!
And divedaisy fingers crossed all goes well for you. Am very excited!
Anyone heard from looby at all.........? bet she's too busy having lovely snuggly cuddles with her LO.
Oh and sausage ROFL at your bloke who wanted to whisk you away to a deserted cottage for romantic break to tie you up ! Thank god you didn't go! Yikes
Am painting furniture for babys room at the mo which is quite fun but all the kneeling and sitting cross legged on the floor makes it feel like the baby is about to climb out. Weird feeling. Maybe my waters will break........[hopeful emoticon] - waters have never broken with either of other 2 DC's) - well not unti delivery anyway!
choco hope you're doing ok this afternoon.
Catch up later x

The photographer has just been. It's so weird seeing myself in those poses and my pants look really baggy, because they kept sinking below my bump . Not a good look! I kept seeing the pictures and thinking they looked OK, if only they didn't have my face on them

chocbunnies Happy to hear you've got a friend who'll take Madi so you can get ready.

Equally ROFL at Sausage's near escape with the SM guy. Imagine spending a weekend tied up

Belgianchocolates · 22/04/2009 15:03

I think I need to have my eyes checked again. I thought dandy's post read that chocbunnies had to have a celebration on the Sunday to beg for the end of her family tree

Tummum · 22/04/2009 15:23

Grumpy and Sausage I share your pain re: getting out of bed in the morning (and turning over in bed at night). Please God the SPD goes away IMMEDIATELY after giving birth. I am actually looking forward to doing some decent exercise with immense pain after LO is here... even (don't tell anyone) jogging. Just will need to find a ginormous sports bra for feeding norks to be well strapped down supported.

Dandy you are a star advice giver.

Hope daisy is OK and pining for news from Looby

Oh, and Sausage I am very of jigsaw completions. I am a bit of a fan of the old jigsaw myself but ave nowhere to put them when half finished. Do you use one of those roll thingies to tidy them away? I've always wanted one of those roll thingies !!

Tummum · 22/04/2009 15:24

Durr... exercise with out immense pain.

Tummum · 22/04/2009 15:25

And have not ave.

Gonna lie down in a darkened room now...

Belgianchocolates · 22/04/2009 15:31

Tummum I'd started to wonder about you. I thought maybe you quite liked the idea of sausage's ex bloke, you know getting tied up and everything

detsy · 22/04/2009 15:49

One of my neighbours is a dominatrix!!!! She has her own "dungeon" and all the kit - not at home but in another local town - oo err. Have been for a nosey and scared the life out of me - she offered me some work as some guys just like someone to watch...PMSL. No no no girls, I did not take her up on the offer

Been asleep for most of the day - total bliss in an empty house and now feel better. Trundling off to get Lotti from nursery.

Divedaisy - woo hoo, good luck vibes buzzing your way!

Choco - hope it all gets sorted hun, take Dandy's assertive advice!

Dandy - you didn't answer my ? the other day about what you do now - interested as I said because of the style of your thinking (and am nosey..!!)

detsy · 22/04/2009 15:52

Eaten weirdly, not to mention very badly today. One large bar of green and blacks organic milk choc, diet coke with lime (have they stopped making that??) and a huge slice of cake....thats it??

Is that indicative of onset of birth, lol

detsy · 22/04/2009 15:54

Got to go to nursery - its miles away (well a good 20 mins) bye for now and see you later, maybe

Blottedcopybook · 22/04/2009 15:57

OMG Grumpy I just sprayed my water all over my laptop! I've managed to hurt my neck somehow and can't move my head today (I suspect it's related to the lignin/relaxin overproduction) but I'm in full on nesting mode. I haven't done anything too exerting, really just a few loads of laundry while the weather is still dry and I moved a very lightweight (I can hold it up with one hand) wardrobe from our room into DDs room. But there's so much I want to get done!

I think DH is going to kill me when he gets home and sees what a bombsite I've turned our bedroom into, though

PLUS as it always has to be in this house, our cat is pregnant too. She's a semi longhaired and is absolutely reeking - she must be struggling to clean herself and she really needs a bath but I don't think that's a very good idea right now. For her or me!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 22/04/2009 16:27

Blotted - my DH is always going on about the mess I make. I try and explain that the piles of washing are job in progress and for mutual benefit and what about his mess but he doesn't see the stuff he leaves lying around!

detsy - how on earth did that come up in conversation with your neighbour??!!

chocbunnies - glad you're friend has agreed to have Madi. As others have said, Dandy's advice is pretty sound

Grumpy (and others) - I know just what you mean about feeling 95! DH phones me each day on his way home from work. I've lost count of the number of times he's asked me why I took so long to get to the phone! "Because you numpty, it takes forever to get up out of the chair!!"

Hi Gals,
Have read back over the last few pages of the last thread and this one and wow have I missed a lot.

hope looby is ok, divedaisy too.

choc sorry to hear you're having such a rough time, you don't need the stress. Dandy's advice is fab especially about asking someone about babysitting Madi as a present to you instead of something material. We did similar for our wedding and it was really nice to know that people had given a bit of time or effort to help us with our day rather than something physical (we'd lived together for over 10 years so really really didn't need stuff!)

re, ahem, 'relations' I've been wierdly frisky after more than 6 months of non-action so DH is making the most of it am putting it down to increased blood flow in the correct area if you know what I mean

Otherwise I am pretty fed up of being pg - weeing about a million times a night and struggling to move/fit into clothes/get comfy/etc. I am still in work as I went in on MOnday all geared up to say I wasn't coming back after that day and there has been some awful stuff happening (teachers leaving with no warning) so my head of dept was really stuck so I agreed to stick around and help do some admin. Has not been to bad to be honest as I haven't had to be on my feet much and have been able to work at my own pace. The money will come in handy too.

Ooh forgot my big news... I had a scan on monday to check growth as I was measuring 40cm for 34 weeks pleasingly everything is normal, head is quite low down and the sonographer said it was probably just that I am quite short so everything is a bit more pushed forward than the average pg lady (would like to meet her tbh!). Anyway the big news is that after being told at 20weeks that is was 99% certain that we were having a boy, we very clearly got a view of some girly bits as the lo's bum is right up under my ribcage on the right hand side... my DH said I looked a bit like this... which is how I felt! Am just glad we painted nursery green and all the clothes bar a few cheap ebay things are either white, green or yellow as I was determined not to give it away to anyone before he/she was here!

Right off to check I haven't missed anything else exciting. Hope all are ok.
