Thanks for the reminder about spangles photos... have just had a peek and awwwwwwwwwww is just right. What a real cutie and not grizzly and smelly all of the time i'm sure!

tummum glad they had no reason to keep you but [grr] at the being prodded and poked about. I'm sure a lovely soak in the bath will help enormously. Quite fancy a soak myself but as the floor in our hall, kitchen, bathroom & store room has nothing on it except plyboard which can't get wet there'll be no baths here tonight. The flooring guys decided to leave the ensuite useable so I can at least have a shower if we can find somewhere to put dh's golf clubs, my adjustaform dressmaking dummy, pots of paint and a few other bits!

ooh exciting news about Dandy - guess we'll find out later if it was waters or wee lol.

Jael- meant to say this the other day when you were worried about your spinal. I had one with my elcs last time, and it was OK really (and i don't like needles or the thought of epidurals). They use something to freeze your back (icy cold) and then give you a local to numb the area, and then insert the epidural. I think mine took a couple of attempts and I was getting a bit nervous, but it was fine. DH was more worried outside as they preferred him to wait there, but i'm sure yours could go in with you if you think it will help.

spangle- I didn't resume marital relations for 6 weeks after DD, and only then because i was due my 6 week GP check and thought i should check if things were OK. After DS, it was probably even longer due to the elcs.

the dummy debate is interesting- i used one with DS to help him fall asleep but i didn't like him sleeping with it so would either remove it, or would leave it out if it dropped out once he was asleep. In terms of reducing SIDS, not sure whether thats a good thing or not...

Tummum · 29/04/2009 15:25

Frazz Hmmm, I really fancy a..... margherita please, with fresh lime and a salty glass. I am also quite of your MLU choice... I would actually prefer that to a HB but there isn't one in our area.

Grumpy both mine were 12 days over. I had hoped I wouldn't be over this time but it looks that way given I am due on Friday... I might well take over your name at this rate as I am really grumpy after the rigmarole of the last couple of days and can't believe I could still be here in a couple of weeks. Boo.

Spangle wanted to send some (((hugs))) your way. I remember feeling utterly crap after DD1 was born because I was sooooo tired all of the time I just couldn't function (I do like my sleep). The important thing to remember is that you are going a fab job and this sleepless bit doesn't last too long.... either LO starts sleeping more or gets into a routine which means you can kinda cope with being woken up !

Dandy hope you are OK

Jael great to hear from you and hope tomorrow goes OK. Just think- the spinal bit will be over in a couple of minutes and then you get to meet your LO! Tomorrow ! WOW!!

Divedaisy hope you got some sleep. Any more happenings??

Belgian hope your Mum hasn't been too bad today!

flippineck · 29/04/2009 15:34

dandy - all sounds very interesting, looking forward to more news!

daisy - it's all getting exciting!

spangle - lol at you thinking about 'the other' with DH so soon! Maybe I'm odd, I don't think we even thought abot it until at least 8 weeks, and even then it wasn't a huge success .

tummum - glad they let you out again, but a shame you had to be prodded and treated like that.

Nothing exciting going on here, still getting BHs if I move too energetically, and still getting period type pains on and off, but otherwise nothing at all. DD is ill (snotty, temperature, all the usual stuff), there's chicken pox going around here at the moment and I don't think we've been in contact with anyone who's had it but who knows? Don't think it's swine flu either! Anyway, she slept until nearly 9 this morning, and is asleep again now. I hate it when she's ill, I just feel so helpless.

Loving the new thread name suggestion. Do you think as it's so close to (or past!) the end now we can all have real cocktails now?!

pulapula · 29/04/2009 15:35

Right then, I have done my shopping, had a nice lunch at Strada (healthy salad followed by choc pudding/ice cream ), had a cup of tea and caught up on FB and mumsnet, so guess I should go and pack my hospital bag! daizydoo- let's hope you are doing yours today too lol as you have been putting it off too!

rosielady · 29/04/2009 15:59

Hi All,

Like Febes - just two more days of work til ML! Have to admit I am ready for it now. Docs surgery called and I have to get a prescription for iron tablets - so that explains the tiredness / grumpiness perhaps!

Eyebrows raised and very funny catch up on posts re: the bunny. Felt my cheeks go !

Jael - good luck with everything - hope all goes well.

flippineck · 29/04/2009 16:08

Ok, quick question - would I be mad to book a luxury pedicure, leg and eyebrow wax the day before my due date? I've unexpectedly got a free day next thursday!

rosielady · 29/04/2009 16:17

Flippin - absolutely not! Go for it - when are you going to have the time after the baby is born? And relaxation will be good for you!

divedaisy · 29/04/2009 16:35

I second the new May Day May Day thread title! I'll start it up now as I see we've only about 40 posts left!

Spangle - just LOVE your photos! Glad to see you took a close up of his feet!! I did that too when ds was wee and it's one of the best ones!! You should also get one of those kits that you take a cast of their hand, foot or both - I just love looking at the size of ds hands and feet! Awesome!!

Tummum - not a nice experience! I'm feeling very sore at the minute too - very tender.

I feel like asking my mum to come here tonight even to just help out and be here for me. I really have lost energy - need to get ds homework done and make dinner but just cannot be arsed. Am I feeling sorry for myself or what?? DS is also meant to be going to Beavers tonight, but I''m feeling selfish enough to not bring him - it's a good 6 miles each way to the Scout Hut and the thought of it at the moment...

frazzled that centre sounds a lovely compromise. I dont think we have those type of centres here in N Ireland - not that I ever enquired... but I would have thought if the option was there I'd have been told about it. I hope you are impressed with it and it eases your concerns and also supports your dh's fears/worries too..

dandy good luck.... thinking of you xx

divedaisy · 29/04/2009 16:45

new thread here

I wonder how quickly we'll fill this next one!

divedaisy · 29/04/2009 16:48

OK I've spoken to my mum (I was nearly in tears as I did!!) and shes coming to me tonight. She lives about 30 miles away from me and could take her a good 45 minutes to get to me. DH is working tonight so at least I'll have company in the house should anything happen....

Just feel really lethargic and shitty.

DH is getting a chinese on his way home to save me the bother of haviing to sort dinner out - chicken Kung PO - bring on the cashew nuts!!!

All I've planned for tonight is a bath and hair wash!!

divedaisy · 29/04/2009 16:51

Oh just had a laugh there ar DS!! He came in and asked me if it was OK if he showed me his mighty muscles!! OK!! So he took off his school sweatshirt and polo shirt and 'pumped them up' so proudly!!! Last night also was funny - he was doing Hoola Hooping on Wii Fit - it was one of those 'you had to be there' moments to fully appreciate it, but lets just say for a 6 year old he's got a good wiggle!!

divedaisy · 29/04/2009 16:52

OK away to get ds's homework done.... oh the effort!!

LoobyLou36 · 30/04/2009 09:08

hello ladies

we're home!!

Tummum · 30/04/2009 09:10

Hey Looby - so glad to hear you're home. We're on a new thread (!!!) link from DiveDaisy's post. How are you both doing??
