Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tummum · 26/04/2009 14:01

My kitchen door is still half hanging off the wall after my DH's temper tantrum on Friday...! This was after an argument about me asking him not to use the last of the squash so that DD1 could actually have a drink in her lunchbox..... apparently that was and unreasonable requested and he is "stressed" about the impending birth. Oh poor him... my heart bleeds

To be fair, I did flip my lid about the squash though... I am so glad we argue about really important and rational things !

Tummum · 26/04/2009 14:02

'scuse the typing. I am cream crackered and waiting for a woman from Freecycle to pick up an old buggy before I go for a nap.

CoteDAzur · 26/04/2009 14:03

DH is out with DD and I'm baking chocolate muffins - anybody want some?

Poor DH - he needs a treat after yet another sleepless night because of my snoring. I know, because I hardly slept myself

SpangleMaker · 26/04/2009 14:03

Just my luck - broadband router decided to go kaput just as all the excitement is kicking off here, I was most distraught!

Huge, huge congrats to Looby EmmalinaC and Reggiee So excited to hear your news. Sorry that Emma's LO has had to go to SCBU but hope that you'll both be home soon.

Dandy fingers crossed you get your DD's school situation sorted out soon.

Momino you're keeping us in suspense Hope things kick off for you soon.

1stMrsF WOW what a bump! You look amazing

Hmm better go and have a shower Fixing the internet was more important!

alapala · 26/04/2009 14:16

MrsF I was scoffing Parma ham and Brie de Meaux withing seconds of getting home from hospital last time - in fact not sure why i waited that long should have had DH make a sandwich and bring it in!

SpangleMaker · 26/04/2009 14:32

Cote I snored really badly when pregnant (apparently) - fortunately it went right after the birth.. well, no one complained in hospital anyway.

1stMrsF · 26/04/2009 14:39

Have added Brie, parma ham, salami, limes for G&Ts, 2 types of pate and plenty of eggs for dippy egg breakfasts

FiKelly · 26/04/2009 14:39

I'm baking a huge batch of cup cakes.. plenty to pass around too

CoteDAzur · 26/04/2009 14:42

Choc muffins very good, if I may say so myself Restraining myself from eating more than 2. Oh OK, 3

Spangle - I snored horribly towards the end of DD's pregnancy as well. I don't remember it to be this bad, though. I can't sleep. Just as I drop off, there's this growling, and it wakes me off. It's horrible.

Momino · 26/04/2009 15:05

cote, Fi, I'll have some of those cakes and muffins!!

sausage, sorry you're fed up too. hope things get better and your dh becomes more reasonable (is that the word i'm looking for ?) flowers are a good start, anyway .

tummum, giggle at your DHs argument on squash and your 'poor him' comment. men can be such babies sometimes (actually, I shouldn't talk).

Tummum · 26/04/2009 15:38

Cote Fi any cakes left?! I'd love some please

Oooo 1stMrsF G&T with lime, now you are talking my language.

Momino · 26/04/2009 15:41

I'd really like an ice cold mojito. Instead, I'm going to have a raspberry leaf tea. boo.

FiKelly · 26/04/2009 15:58

and joins momino in a cup of raspberry tea.. while dreaming of cocktails.

CoteDAzur · 26/04/2009 17:13

I'm MNing from bed, after having my first contraction. Or possibly my stomach telling me to Stop Eating

FiKelly · 26/04/2009 18:59

cote contraction! ooo do you think it is? I'm on my phone at mo and can't remember which page has the list of our due dates.. you're booked for an elcs aren't you?

Momino · 26/04/2009 19:29

evening all.
just having those period-type pains and all we have is Paracetamol plus (think the only diff is that it has caffeine, perhaps?). i've only taken one but is paracet plus on our banned list (well, too late anyway ).

Blottedcopybook · 26/04/2009 19:30

Have we all been baking this afternoon?! I made cherry bakewell cake and a jaffa cake loaf and a massive pot of vegetable and lentil curry casserole. It's the first day since Tuesday that I've got dressed and out of bed so I figured I should mark it in some way!

llareggub · 26/04/2009 19:34

Paracetamol is fine, Momino. I was offered it on labour ward too, so it must be fine.

No baking here. We did make hummus with DS though, which thoroughly unimpressed him as he just wanted to bake cakes!

Momino · 26/04/2009 19:43

well done to all you productive, energetic bakers, am but I was stuck cleaning. did manage to make a ragu sauce to have later this week or put in the freezer.

llare, how are you? any imminent signs? day by day waiting game, isn't it? sigh.

Febes · 26/04/2009 20:03

Evening all. I have had a lovely day despite only going to sleep after 2.30am!!! I got home from my neighbours hen night after 1am and rolled around for ages trying to sleep. The hen night was lovely. We went in a hummer stretch limo and did a murder mystery so that was fun.

DH worked late so I let him sleep this morning and he bloody slept until noon!! Never mind we had a great afternoon in the garden planting vege and playing with DD. We had a braai for dinner so it was a perfect sunday.

I have had a few period type pains lately too 12 days until due date now but I really want to get through the next 4 days at work whch will take me through to the end of the month. I still feel I could go a few weeks so not expecting anything to happen.

CoteDAzur · 26/04/2009 20:06

I'm due 28 May and booked for elCS on 27 May. Not sure if I will make it that far, tbh.

I can't say if it was a contraction. I never had a 'natural' contraction before as DD was induced and until that point I hadn't even had a single Braxton Hicks. It was just that one, though, so I'm inclined to think it was my stomach spasming under choc muffin attack

llareggub · 26/04/2009 20:19

Nothing more than period pain and lots of Braxton Hicks today. I'm feeling very tired still, and have taken to my bed every afternoon! I'm being induced on Tuesday morning so I can wait I guess. Really not long now...

I've got the ironing board out to try and help things along, and might drag DH off to bed for a rather more enjoyable method of induction a little later.

pulapula · 26/04/2009 20:26

1stMrsF- wow i am in awe of your bump and how you cope with it!

I feel quite productive as i have placed an online sainsburys order for the first time and it didnt take me too long- i seem to have spent over £100 to get the free delivery on Tues and not sure i've ordered any "proper" food- seems to be mostly household goods, nappies, cakes, biscuits, sweets, magnums...mmmmm. Oh well, once i have all my favourites set up it will be much easier.

My first day of Mat leave actually without my DCs being around will be on Tues and its already looking pretty full- drop kids at nursery 9am, NCT coffee morning 10-12am, sainsburys delivery 12-1, lunch, dentist 2pm, work at 3pm to sign off staff reports, 5pm pick the kids up from nursery. Phew. Doesn't sound like rest and relaxation to me!

flippineck · 26/04/2009 20:42

Evening all! You've all been really busy chatting and baking today, I'm impressed! No baking here today, I thought about it this morning but couldn't be bothered in the end, and only made soup for lunch and pasta sauce for dinner. blotted - loving the sound of cherry bakewell cake and jaffa loafcake.

1stMrsF - I love your bump, it's really impressive. What a lovely shape. A friend of mine is expecting twins at the end of May, and I saw her on Thursday for the first time for a while and she looks great too.

My periody pains seem to have stopped today, but I've been getting plenty of braxton hicks today - the moment I do anything even slightly energetic it all starts.

We've got champagne in the fridge too for post-birth refreshment! Every shop that DH has done for the last few weeks has included biscuits for the midwives...and every week he's had to buy more because I've eaten them .

I'm sat here drinking a no alcohol beer - sainsbo's own brand, tastes abit like shandy, but it's not that bad.

FiKelly · 26/04/2009 20:57

dh is going to have to wait until the work is finished in our flat before we try the fun inducement activities.. daren't before then as the new flooring, coving, shelving in the store room won't be finished until friday. then dh will be moving ds's bed etc back into his old but now smaller room and clearing our flat of the piles of stuff everywhere that's ready to be packed into the new store room. we're in too much chaos before then. from bank holiday onwards dh better look out!
