Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Dandy what a nightmare ! We are in a similar situation here where nearest school is 3-4X subscribed. We were lucky & got in, but it was all about where we live and how many others applied close to where we live. Can't believe you haven't had a letter. Will be keeping everything crossed that you get the letter with the right news in it on Monday.

Llare hugs to DS. Hope he feels better soon.

1stMrsF · 25/04/2009 17:32

I am horrified by these school stories - I had no idea until we decided to have a family that you even need to think about these things, and now I realise it's a nightmare. Dandy how stressful that you don't know yet and it's all happening now.

I've had so many epidodes of period pain I'm sort of blase about it now. It could well be the start of things, but could also be just one of those late pregnancy things

FiKelly · 25/04/2009 19:21

dandy I'll keep my fingers crossed for your school choice.. we'll be going through this next year for ds.

momino i'm still doing my VBAC hypnotherapy cd's.. also bit sceptical but it really helps me sleep so even if that's all it does i'm happy.

llareggub · 25/04/2009 19:35

Oh yes, fingers crossed Dandy. You really don't need that sort of stress right now, do you?

I've got period pain too. I feel like I am about to start a really heavy period. My blood sugar is low after eating too, which is supposed to be another sign of impending labour in women with GD. I'd love to go into labour naturally without the induction, but at least it is only on Tuesday, eek!

Momino · 25/04/2009 19:42

llare, i've just taken a paracetamol for the 'period' pain which has helped a bit but it's coming back once in awhile.

it can't be beginning of labour for me, though, as it would be too convenient with DDs and dog at the inlaws. with our luck, it will happen tomorrow night when they're back with us .

better yet, you and I may be in tonight... [momino has now jinxed herself again into being late and, worse, may have jinxed llareggub as well; hangs head in shame].

EmmalinaC · 25/04/2009 19:44

Hello all,

Mr EmmalinaC here, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place etc.

Just an update to let you know that Emma and Niamh are still in hospital, both doing OK, but Niamh has had to go into the SCBU because she seems to be unable to control her blood sugar levels and they keep dropping very low.

She's on anti-biotics in case it's being caused by an infection, but at the moment the reason seems to be a bit of a mystery.

Anyway, apart from that she's doing well - breathing ad heartbeat great, plus she's able to regulate her temperature. And she's a beautiful little girl.

Mum is doing amazingly - managing to get some breastfeeding in, looking really healthy and moving so well. I couldn't be more proud.

Good luck to everyone yet to produce, and well done to those who have.

AliC

llareggub · 25/04/2009 19:50

Momino, I'm quite happy to be jinxed as DS isn't 100% so needs his mummy close at the moment!

Thanks for posting Mr Emmalina! Please send my love to Mrs E and a little kiss for Niamh. I'm sure they'll manage to stablise her blood sugar very soon.

Momino · 25/04/2009 19:57

MrEmmalinaC, thanks so much for taking time out to post. glad little Niamh is in good care and well done/love to emmalinaC as well. we're very happy for you all!

forgot to say, i've uploaded 38+ bump photos dh took this past week. i think it looks really funny, sticks straight out. i don't think i could possibly get this tummy to stretch anymore until 1st may.

FiKelly · 25/04/2009 20:24

MrEmmalina thanks so much for the update... sorry to hear your Niamh is in scbu. when you get a chance please give them both a big hug from us and hopefully they'll both be home very soon.

dandy what a potential nightmare... really really hoping it doesn't come down to appeals etc.. for you and such a shame the council don't take the nursery bit into account. It makes total sense to me to let the little ones settled there at nursery continue on instead of possibly uprooting them... arrrrgghhh (bites pregnancy hard nails in nervous anticipation of the letter coming).

I realised this morning that i hadn't taken any bump photos since about 33wks... so took the plunge this morning and took some of my 37wk+1d bump. Have uploaded them to my fb photos and mn profile here if anyone fancies a peek...

Momino · 25/04/2009 20:25

love your bump fi! just did mine as well .

FiKelly · 25/04/2009 20:26

crossed posts with momino absolutely love the bump pics... do you think mine will look like that next wk?! how much bigger can our tummies manage to expand?! lol

BTW have you all noticed that reggie has posted a photo of gorgeous ben on her fb profile/wall...

pulapula · 25/04/2009 20:51

Great bumps you two! Might take some photos of mine tomorrow.

Momino- makes sense to delay our meetup as so many can't make it. It would have been nice to meet you and your girls but I should be up for a meet in July .

Mr Emmalina- sorry to hear Niamh is in SCBU but guess it is the best place for her til they sort things out.

FiKelly · 25/04/2009 21:01

It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow.... can't believe we've been married for 7yrs now (and neither of us has that supposed 7yr itch) mind you we lived together for 4yrs before getting married so our 7yr itch would have been in 2005!

I've also got my mw appointment at 9.30am tomorrow (i know weird day) she's seeing me at the hospital antenatal ward as there were no appointments left on mon or wed this week at the doc's due to the bank holiday the week after.

1stMrsF · 25/04/2009 21:13

I am so itchy. Does anyone else have this? I've got a little red rash on my arms, and small patches of a very faint pink rash on knees and ankles; sometimes itchiness also spreads to upper thighs on the outside. I think it's just an extension of skin being sensitive and irritable e.g. I can't tolerate the seams of pyjamas in bed at night and have switched back to sleeping naked otherwise I can't sleep. The pharmacist wouldn't let me buy anything other than calamine lotion which is USELESS. Arrgghh!!!

Momino · 25/04/2009 21:21

1stMrsF, my rash is concentrated on my stretched tummy which has calmed down. I put aveeno lotion on it which works. have you tried a bath with oil in it? for my dd's eczema, we use again aveeno bath oil which seems to help. when did it start?

sleeping naked is prob a good idea (don't think my DH would mind ).

1stMrsF · 25/04/2009 21:25

Probably had it about 2 weeks, so since 35 weeks. Bath with oil is worth a try I think - in fact probably haven't been moisturising quite so much as usual as I've been afraid to put too much stuff on it, but you might be right and it's making it worse. Think I have some E45 bath in the cupboard. Trouble is, I'm so big now the thought of a bath is exhausting!

Poor DH doesn't get much benefit because I feel so hot I'm pushing him away all the time!!!

Momino · 25/04/2009 21:29

don't blame you MrsF. i can't be bothered with baths either. it's difficult to get in and out with the bump.

1stMrsF · 25/04/2009 21:33

Will give it a try though, thanks for the suggestion. May also send DH out for Aveeno.

Off to bed now, night night all. x
