MrsF - This can be important. I had the itchiness you described in last pregnancy and it turned out to be something related to the liver. Please mention it to your consultant.

flippineck · 25/04/2009 21:47

Evening all!

MrEmmalinaC - thank you for the update. Very best wishes to you all, and I hope that Niamh is out of SCBU soon.

Fi - happy anniversary for tomorrow, and enjoy your appointment!

I've been feeling really uncomfortable today - I've still got periody type pain (just the dull, pre-period ache) and really feel like there just isn't enough space inside me anymore for a baby and my internal organs! Have had some paracetamol and a bath tonight (and gaviscon of course) and feeling a bit more comfortable, so hopefully I'll sleep ok tonight.

Loving the bump pics, it's really interesting to see all the different shapes. I got DH to take one of me earlier this week, will put it on FB when I have a peaceful moment.

All the school stuff sounds a nightmare. As 1stMrsF said, it's something that you really don't think about until you have children. Hope you get the result you want Dandy.

Belgianchocolates · 25/04/2009 21:53

cote great that you mentioned that to MrsF I was thinking the same that she should mention the itchiness to a dr in case it's cholestasis. However if it's associated with a rash it could just be an allergic reaction to something or sensitive skin. But it could do with looking into.

dandy I hope that you'll get news from your school soon. Maybe the letter is just delayed in the post Finding a nice school and getting into it is so difficult isn't it. I also think that it doesn't make sense that they don't just let children from nursery carry on to the primary. Like your schools headmistress said, it's just not in the child's interest to be taken out of a school that they know and love, because generally there's an equal amount of places in nursery and reception (though I'm aware that's not always the case).

Right. I'm off to go and listen to my hypnotherapy CD. I haven't listened to it often enough I think and could do with upping my dosage of h/b preparation

llareggub · 25/04/2009 21:54

Yes, what cote said. I had an itchy rash and my consultant referred me for a liver function test. It turned out fine, so could be nothing. Mention it though, won't you?

FiKelly · 25/04/2009 21:54

I'm going to head off to bed too.. listen to hypnotherapy and get a to sleep a bit earlier than I've been recently. fi xoxox

pulapula · 25/04/2009 22:01

Dandy- good luck with the schools situation. Do you get a third choice where you are too? We ended up moving house and paying a lot more just to be in a good catchment area, so i know how stressful it is when you want your kids to be happy and in a good school.

Momino · 25/04/2009 22:04

maybe I should go listen to my hypno cd .

flippi, my cramps have just gone away after a few hours of discomfort. i took a paracetamol which seemed to help. baby is very active so wonder if that's having an effect.

MrsF, i agree with the others about checking out the itchiness, better to be safe.

i'm going to bed soon as well. can you tell I've not had the DD's around today? been able to post a bit more often .

yawningprincess · 25/04/2009 22:23

hi ladies- It has been a very long time since I posted it's Rubysmom! Darcy (we have named her already!) is now fully engaged and that has cured my SPD! I have honestly had th worst tme with this pregnancy to the point I don't think I could do it again. Went to a chiropractor but still spent a large proportion of this pregnancy on crutches!

We are sleeping in our new loft conversion tonight, first time sleeping in a proper bed for 5 weeks, as we have been on an air bed!

I can't believe some people have already had their beans! I am so excited but also quite nervous as all the extension work is still not complete - I currently have 3 8ft trenches in my garden! Hopefully according to my builder who can guild a lilly it should be in time for the babe- although it make scuper my plans of a home birth if not!

I honestlt don't have time to read all the posts but I shall be a regular poster from now and hopefully get to know you all again from here!

xxx

pulapula · 25/04/2009 22:29

Hi YP - I can't believe you have spent 5 weeks on an airbed- don't think i could get up/down to such a level- i'm sure it will be luxury tonight.

I think i sent you an invite to our FB group. If you didn't get it, I can resend it. Quite a few of us are on facebook so its nice to keep up with news/photos that way too.

Hope you have a good night's sleep.

llareggub · 25/04/2009 23:22

Welcome back YP! Sounds like you've had your hands full.

Jennster · 25/04/2009 23:35

Hello again YP. I don't envy your building site. 1st pregnancy we had our kitchen replaced in the last month. 2nd pregnancy we had a new bathroom fitted. We've had plumbers in this week replacing our central heating system. My goodness. I've tried to stay out of the house, but flipping heck they're like an old married couple. They never stop arguing talking. When I say talking, the volume was shouting and it was constant bickering. They've got to come back next week too to finish off.

Momino · 26/04/2009 07:25

wecome back YP! Darcy is a lovely name btw.

morning all. just sat in bed with my coffee, dh downstairs watching moto GP. dd's still at inlaws. very peaceful morning, sigh.

i'm now getting annoyed. i had what i thought was a show last sat, tinged with blood. everywhere i read said that this type of show is usually followed by labour within 24 hours. so was i wrong ? have had d/charge during the week, heavy period pains and this i know can last a couple of weeks but the size of me says baby is ready. well, i say so .

i don't feel anything today and it would have been oh so convenient to have baby whilst the girls/dog are at inlaws. they're coming back today, dh going to work tomorrow, we have kitchen people coming tomorrow as well to fix the plumbing they screwed up (we now don't have running water in the kitchen until they do). i'm sure now the baby will therefore come tomorrow. (pessimist? me?)

sorry for the rant, just frustrated now that things don't seem to be happening when i would hope they would. i know: it will all work out. i'll just have to figure out what to do if it happens tomorrow.

Momino · 26/04/2009 07:28

just reading jennster's post as well. why, oh why do we all do major house renovation/work at the end of pregnancy? are we trying to make it difficult for ourselves? [almost inserts a grin emoticon but then not sure if appropriate or feels in the mood]

pulapula · 26/04/2009 07:41

Momino- sounds like things might happen for you soon(ish). Let's hope its sooner rather than later- is there any chance the inlaws could have DDs an extra night if things kick off later?

I guess the renovations towards the end of pg is due to 1) nesting and getting everything perfect for baby and 2) knowing that it'll be easier to do it now than once there's a newborn around too, but mainly 3) these things should have been done many months/years earlier and have been put off! We have just had our garden improved, which i could just about cope with as it didn't involve mess in the house.

Momino · 26/04/2009 07:54

pula, we may ask in laws if possible to keep girls another day esp because the kitchen/laundry isn't in working condition and our dirty dishes are all up in the bathroom (!). depends if my fil can get time off work to bring them back.

sister is arriving on Wed eve so that's my next window to have the baby as well. i wish I could schedule the arrival day/time.

good timing for you though on the garden. i hope we have a lovely summer for you to enjoy it. April has, for the most part, been springlike anyway. maybe a good sign for the rest of summer.

Tummum · 26/04/2009 08:41

Monimo how frustrating for you. Just wanted to send (((big hugs))) your way.

I flit between wanting to have the baby so I can get out of this period of suspense, and then blind panic about not wanting to go through the labour bit again and anxiety about dealing with a new born. Every last little twinge sets me thinking "could this be it" when it blatently isn't... and you have loads more of the pre-labour signs which is infinately more frustrating. Anyway, I am waffling now but I just wanted to send my support your way. It does sound like things are happening for you, we just need then to happen NOW (well today, but not tomorrow, but Weds would be good too !) !!

Gert2a · 26/04/2009 09:43

Good morning All!

I'm feeling like I'm living in a parallel universe at the moment and that the imminent elcs is going to happen to someone else. Though I know it's going to happen to us! Does that make any sense whatsoever? My due date is a week today and I suppose it's partly because I believe that I would have gone way over my due date if was having a natural birth (have had no signs of labour whatsoever - haven't even had any BH at all, so no idea what anything may feel like!), I just don't think the baby is ready to come out or I am ready to give birth yet, and could easily cope with another 2 weeks of baking (!) So I think I'm coping with elcs by not allowing myself to think about it and not allow any anxiety to enter my world. Not sure how I'll be feeling on wednesday morning when we're actually on our way to hospital.

Not sure any of that makes sense but it helped to write it down!

Hope everyone has a happy sunday with as little pain/stress/anxiety as poss!

llareggub · 26/04/2009 10:28

Morning!

I've just woken up, can you believe it? I was up in the night with the most horrendous pain which lasted 2 minutes. I really thought this was it! I woke up DH and had a frantic conversation about when to ring his parents, when I decided to see what happened....nothing!

But it really hurt to billy-o so I wonder if there is more to come today?

Tummum · 26/04/2009 10:33

Llare exciting !!!! Sounds promising

I'm not at all , honest !!!

sophietom · 26/04/2009 10:48

yawning I have absolutely no idea how you managed to get on/off an air bed- did you have some sort of hoist rigged up?! I find it difficult getting out of bed/off the sofa- often takes a couple of attempts
Momino it doesn't sound like you'll be waiting much longer- good luck!
Gert2a I haven't felt a single BH either-I hope that doesn't mean I'll go overdue, hope you have a lovely relaxing day today x

Blottedcopybook · 26/04/2009 10:59

Morning all!

I have just woken up from my nap (been up since 6.30 this morning!) and I swear I think the baby has turned breech. I have a hard lump in between my ribcage which I can move with my hands and hubby says when I do that he can see the outline of a body. I'm 35w3d - I seriously hope she turns back round!

1stMrsF · 26/04/2009 11:03

Thanks Cote, Belgian, llare and momino. I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow so will mention it then. However, have itchiness only where rash is and having read about cholestasis, it seems unlikely that it's that. Am upping my moisturising regime today, starting with a bath this morning with Neals Yard Mothers' Oil in it and we shall see if that helps.

FiKelly · 26/04/2009 11:17

yawning.. great to have you back on and I'm not surprised you've had no time to MN.. I'm in awe of your maneuvering off the air mattress.. I feel like a floundering hippo just getting back up from the floor!
Momino will keep fingers crossed that things kick off when good timing
Gert2 I'm not showing any signs of anything happening imminently . the only time I get a sore bump is when I've done too much walking and lifting but not even sure if what I feel then is bh!

back from my mw app. bp normal.. not low anymore baby still head down but back to rhs today. not remotely engaged.. and measuring slightly above my wks again. don't think we're all cooked yet!

1stMrsF · 26/04/2009 11:19

Thought I'd be brave and share my bump pictures with you as I've enjoyed seeing yours - uploaded to my profile. This is the first time I've tried to set up a profile page so let me know if it doesn't work. It's quite funny looking at them side by side - I'm a completely different shape now than I was at 34 weeks. Bump measures 51 inches today!!!

Blottedcopybook · 26/04/2009 11:31

That's quite a bump! Wow! You're looking absolutely fantastic with it too
