Thanks BelgianChocs for explaining the tube. it makes sense now and is not alarming at all once you understand what it's for. Bless her - hope she doesn't have to put up with it for too long.

Momino · 25/04/2009 07:19

whoooooo's next ???

good morning all. hope you slept well. i don't know why i'm not still in bed with girls at inlaws. nothing happening but i'm just too uncomfortable lying down and can't seem to slepp.

left DH snoring happily as he needs a good rest as well (I've got a long list of things for him to do today - evil ).

still looking for a name, sigh. still have Harper for a girl (not convinced) and atticus or Cassius for a boy. will go trawl the babynames threads for ideas.

is it supposed to rain today?

Momino · 25/04/2009 07:26

Rosie, good luck on your last week before ML. you will be so relieved when you can leave work behind . not long now.

frazzledoldbag · 25/04/2009 07:28

HI momino I'm up too - left DH in bed as he seemed even more comatose and unable to move than I was. Had a horrible night of no sleep with the poor chicken pox child - itchy and hot and just generally 'awake'. Not good so we're all shattered - and we have friends coming today who are meant to be staying the night with their LO (who has luckily also just had the pox). Am thinking of texting to say come for the day but don't try to stay over as you'll get NO SLEEP AT ALL! It's such a shame.

Huge Congrats to Regiee - Ben is gorgeous and a lovely name too.
Looking forward to hearing news of another one............

Must go make toast for DD. BAck later. x

flippineck · 25/04/2009 07:40

morning momino - I'm up to because it's DH's turn for a lie in, and my hips and thighs hurt when I lie down as well. Luckily though I suppose DD slept until 6.30 again today. LOL at your list of jobs for DH, I have one of those too - with ironing at the top!

I've still got period-y backache too, but absolutely no other signs of anything. Hope this isn't going to go on for the next 2 or 3 weeks. A bath last night helped temporarily.

We're still struggling with names too. Have a couple of options for a girl (and I think this one is a girl) but not 100% about any of them, and only one name (and no middle name) for a boy which is a classic one but quite popular which puts me off it, if that makes sense.

I think the weather forecast was sunny spells and showers. It was beautiful here earlier, but has gone quite grey now. Shame, one of the jobs on my DH's list is mow the lawn.

Momino · 25/04/2009 07:41

frazzled, hope your DD is feeling better and you can somehow get some rest today. Maybe when your friend come, it's a good excuse to relax with them.

flippineck · 25/04/2009 07:42

Morning too frazzled! Cross post (flaky internet connection again, gah). Sorry to hear about your bad night. Hope the pox starts healing soon.

Momino · 25/04/2009 07:52

flippi, i got the period type pains a couple of days ago but went away. yours sounds suspiciously close to things happening but I guess we just don't know until it does happen.

bath sounds good, though, and I may copy you on that idea since I now have the time with no girls to look after today/tomorrow.

guess our DHs will be busy, eh ?

flippineck · 25/04/2009 08:14

I don't think the pains are going to turn into anything yet, it's all very mild (and almost not noticable if I'm moving, iyswim). And besides, it can't happen yet - my friend who is going to look after DD when I go into labour is on holiday this week!

Belgianchocolates · 25/04/2009 08:31

Morning everyone,

I've been up since 6.30, but moving hurts to much that early, so I stayed in bed until hunger forced me to move. I did make sure that I stayed in long enough for my mum to have set the table and made a pot of tea ready for us all [very lazy and abusing the goodness of my mum emoticon]

No signs of a baby, shame I hoped to go into labour as my own mw was on call tonight, but I think 38 weeks might be a touch early. All my instincts are telling me next week will be the week.

Frazzled hope those chickenpox will ease soon. I must say it made my 2 dc very sleepy when they had them, so we were lucky.

llare hope your ds is feeling better today.

Tummum · 25/04/2009 08:44

Morning all. Sleep is great isn't it... I feel a million times better still having period-y pains though, but my new positive outlook is saying this is all good prep for when the real thing starts happening

Llare hope your DS had a good night and is feeling better
Frazz CP is a nightmare - hopefully you are over the worst. Have you thought about Piriton to help sleeping ? It helps reduce the swelling / itchiness too.
Monimo am of your weekend off childcare.

Weather here has turned really dull, just in time for the weekend !! Not that I am planning on doing much apart from bouncing on labour ball and directing DH on household operations. And trying not to shout at DC !

Is it Chocolate's wedding today or next week - I can't remember (placenta brain!)?

Have a good day all.

daizydoo · 25/04/2009 09:32

Wow congrats to Reggiee and Emmalina! I must admit feeling abit about all these little babies, but I'm not ready to meet mine just yet.

I currently feel like I'm falling to pieces. My Carpel Tunnel has got worse even though I'm wearing splints at night. The last 2 mornings I've been woken up far too early with pains going from my numb fingers all the way up to my elbows and today my shoulder as well. My Spd has also got worse after my dog walking exploits the other day and I've still got a stuffed up nose. Dh has taken to sleeping in the spare room as he reckons I snore too much!

Llare hope your little one is better today oh and yours frazz!

1stMrsF · 25/04/2009 10:11

Many congratulations Looby, Emmalina and Reggiee - it's all hotting up now isn't it?

Momino I would say that your bra will probably be OK - can you get your hand into the top of the cup (flat) - they are made to stretch when you get a bit bigger.

Went out yesterday because I was so sick of being in the house I really needed an outing. Went to National Trust property Ightham Mote, a tudor house with gardens. Had a lovely walk (from bench to bench!) in the gardens - would have taken about 6 minutes pre-pregnancy but killed a good hour at this stage! Nice sandwhich and cup of tea in the tea shop and then had to get DH to bring the car to me, but had such a lovely day in the sunshine, it really cheered me up.

Only 6 more nights until we get to meet the girls - doesn't seem very real at the moment...

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 25/04/2009 10:38

Tummum - yay for sleep It really does help, doesn't it!

1stMrsF - Ightham Mote is lovely. I went there years ago with school. Would have beena lovely day for it yesterday as well.

daizydoo - boo for carpal tunnel. My DH has also taken to sleeping in the spare room on nights when he's working the next day. I'm a bit but we both sleep better that way at the moment.

Momino - I take it you're a To Kill a Mockingbird fan! (Me too!) I'd never thought of (but love) Harper for a girl.
We have had our names sorted since before Christmas!

Hello everyone else - have a good relaxing Saturday!

llareggub · 25/04/2009 10:40

Morning all...at least at feels like good afternoon for me as poor old DS woke us up at 5am demanding calpol, bless him.

He fell asleep at 9ish, lying over my chest while breastfeeding, leaving me in a very uncomfortable position on the bed, unable to move. I didn't want to wake him so had to wait to be rescued by DH, who was downstairs. He is still fast asleep which I always think is a good sign. Our sofas are ruined though...we may need to invest in some new ones!

divedaisy on your marks....

frazz how is the patient? CP is awful, poor thing.

daizydoo is there anything you can take for carpel tunnel?

sophietom · 25/04/2009 11:43

congrats Reggiee
Can I order one of those fast labours please?

Am feeling a bit of those who have already got to meet their LOs as I still have ages to go. Am going to try and plan lots of nice things to do while I'm waiting (meeting friends, baking, meals out etc)

Done a massive pile of ironing today and gutted to realise that pretty much all of my maternity tops have stains on the bumps! Don't want to buy any more though if I'm only gonna get a few weeks wear out of them. Guess I'll just have to work the 'grunge' look for a few weeks (grubby is so this season dontcha know)

Belgianchocolates · 25/04/2009 13:23

sophietom I'm the same with my mat tops. I don't seem to be able to wear anything for more than a day without spilling food unto my bump. I've just discovered some tomato on the top I'm wearing today and I haven't even eaten any

I'm going out with my dcs and parents for a drive, just to test out the extra seats in the Zafira .

pulapula · 25/04/2009 13:31

Morning all,

Sorry to hear others are having difficulty sleeping or having other health problems. At least we are all within weeks of the end of these pregnancies, and after that, we will continue to have sleep problems for different reasons lol.

I think chocbunnies wedding is 1 May so don't think we've missed it. I will text her later to check.

I think we have decided on the name for our little fella - Samuel James Foster (Sam). Not very adventurous and very common popular but i think it'll go well with Katie and Ben. Short names are good when you need to get their attention quickly, although when the DCs are being told off they get their full names including middle names lol.

CoteDAzur · 25/04/2009 14:33

Congratulations new mums!

CoteDAzur · 25/04/2009 14:35

daisy - Are you me? Carpal tunnel, SPD, and heavy snoring. I'm not used to snoring at all so keep waking myself up

Momino · 25/04/2009 14:48

afternoon all.
choco's wedding is 1st may (i know bcause it's my due date).

about mockingbird names. i do love atticus but not sure if we're brave enough to use it so might do as dandy and use as middle name (if we have a boy). as for Harper, most people i know consider it a boy's name but when i think of a harp player it's usually female and Harper lee (the main influence) was a woman. again, though, not sure it's 'pretty' enough to stand against our DDs names India and Saskia.

Pula, i love the name Sam, it's classic and I actually don't know too many Sam's (except for my nephew!).

llare, hope your DS is better as well as frazzleds dd.

1stMrsF, thanks for the bra advice. i think it will be fine, let's see what happens when the milk comes in...

period pain, having this right now too. is this a sign of impending labour? a lot of us having this. mine is certainly not contraction-like, just a dull heaviness and ache. well, like period pains.

Momino · 25/04/2009 14:50

pula, about the 27th meet-up in York, I now don't think i can make it because our new kitchen is falling apart (well, not that dramatic), so we have to have someone come in on Monday to fix the 5 things (including plumbing) that have gone wrong.

though i would have loved to see everyone now, not many of us can make it so looks like the best thing to do is meet up after babies have arrived. I'll put a note on the f/b wall.

dandyLion, that's tough on the school choices. it sounds so complicated as well. try not to despair yet until you see what the post brings on monday.

am off for a nap, rasp tea and hypnotherapy. anyone listening to their natal hypnotherapy? i must admit am still skeptical it will work but that really isn't the attitude i should have if I want it to work. right?
