Afternoon everyone,

Jennster Im afraid to say I havent packed it yet I cant face doing it yet!

Belgian Pics are gorgeous!

Hope everyone is ok, anymore babies???

I heard from Looby earlier, baby is in SCBU as she has breathing problems but she assures me shes ok and Looby is v.sore as it ended as an emerg cs, but other than that she is ok.

Had a busy old day today at my Nans, am out for a meal and crazy golf with a mate this evening!

Catch up properly later!

xx

detsy · 23/04/2009 17:01

Hi blotted good on you for being calm and pragmatic about the changes to your plans - v impressed! Hope they have given you something good for the neck pain as well

Ses ohhh I'm jealous, our man came over and thinks our planning approval will be marginal so trying not to get all excited.

Jennster · 23/04/2009 17:03

Detsy I know the feeling. I get it very occasionaly. A little like when you're using a tampon and your flow is too light?

detsy · 23/04/2009 17:04

Thanks for the loo update choc* - glad she is ok albeit sore, poor thing

Am outting my number of secret squirrel fb thing too in case anything of any interest happens

detsy · 23/04/2009 17:04

Sorry putting my number on NOT outting my number of

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 23/04/2009 17:05

detsy - we don't have planning permission yet... Hopefully shouldn't be a problem though as we're already set back from the road a little and not overlooked. Our plan is to get the plans and permission sorted and then decide how we'll finance it as I think you have 3yrs from when planning permission is granted to start.
We could just save up DH's bonuses over the next few years or we could take a bit of a risk on interest rates and extend our mortgage whilst rates are low...
Trying not to get carried away!

Jennster · 23/04/2009 17:06

OOps don't try www.btitnernet.com when trying to log onto BT email!

emmabemmasmom · 23/04/2009 17:40

Detsy Oh sorry to not mention that I get those too. I find it hard to explain though but yes...very sharp painful, make you squeeze your legs closed kinda pain! I get it most in bed at night...I have been praying it means good things

daizydoo · 23/04/2009 18:46

O o o - this is getting exciting! Glad your sweep went ok Llare! Congrats to Looby and all the best to everyone else who is looking promising!!

I get sharp shooting pains every and again. Someone on my previous ante natal thread referred to it as a pain as if someone is trying to put a knitting needle up your fanjo! I had one today at work - it took my breath away! I think I'm going to have a little fun with my colleagues next week as they are all petrified I'm going to into labour at work. I mean I work in a hospital - all they've got to do is put me in a wheelchair and take me to maternity - its not rocket science!

Great pics Belgian, I know what you mean about the knickers! Dh wanted to take some pics like that and the knickers just got in the way, so I ended up getting rid of them

I'm absolutely shattered tonight, not only have I done the shopping I ended walking my mums manic puppy round the block along with ds. Both wanted to go in opposite directions so twas mad!!

minimenace · 23/04/2009 19:05

lol @ Jennster ... get something a little unexpected there did you

Belgianchocolates · 23/04/2009 19:26

Lol jennster I've done the same once with the text number for radio 1. I mixed the digits up and for months after I kept getting texts from a dominatrix asking me what she should do to me Come to think of it. Maybe it was Detsy's neighbour

I get sharp groin pains every so often too. In a way I'm glad about them, because I've only started getting them since lo is head down.

Shame to hear that looby's little one is in SCBU. It must be hard for her being on the ward feeling sore with a C/S wound and not being able to see lo. I'm sure he'll be back with her soon though.

Just had SIL over for dinner. She only came to collect a wardrobe and DH went: oh stay for dinner Guess who was cooking. Luckily she helped out a bit with tidying the kitchen (was a building site) and peeling some veg.

runningmonkey · 23/04/2009 20:09

Hi All,

Congrats to looby! Hope her little one is ok.

Exciting re Reggiee too, wonder what's happening?!

llare glad sweep went ok 1cm sounds promising. Keep us posted! Sorry to hear about your car, glad nothing of value was taken but all the same its still not nice.

Yes also have been wondering about Jael and divedaisy too, hope they are both ok.

Jennster lol at the typo! I once did a google image search for a picture of a bacon sandwich for a lesson powerpoint and got a load of porn... just glad I wasn't on a school computer!

I have v puffy ankles today, mainly I think because its not comfy to sit with my feet up as I feel so constricted as lo is really filling me up now! I get lots of protest kicks if I sit with ribcage jutting into bump. I also get the shooting fanjo pains - knitting needle is a good description.

Am off to center parcs tomorrow for the weekend, am really looking forward to it especially since its my last day at work tomorrow... finishing the week demonstrating a heart and lung dissection with 30 15 year olds... whoopee!

runningmonkey · 23/04/2009 20:10

Ooh meant to say, Blotted hope you are ok, sounds like you have had a horrid day.

Febes · 23/04/2009 20:11

Hi everyone!!! Congrats on you baby girl Looby. Can't wait to here your birth story. Who's next?

Daisydoo- My boss keeps asking me how my waters broke last time and for my DHs mobile number. I think she thinks I am going to go into labour at work and it will be so intense I won't be able talk .I'm sure if it does kick off at work I will have time to get myself sorted and off to the hospital before delivering in my classroom.

Well I got a letter from Health in PG grant people saying they couldn't pay into my account as I applied before 25 week I didn't as it was in feb. So I rang them and it turns out they thought my due date was 8th of August not 8th of May. So now they are looking into it and will ring me back. I said what if I give birth in the mean time and he said I could always appeal!! What a pain in the arse!!!! Hope its sorted out without any stress from me.

38 weeks tomorrow!!!!

flippineck · 23/04/2009 20:44

Evening all!

Huge congrats to Looby, hope everyone is improving now. Thanks chocbunnies for the updates.

llaregub - your sweep sounds promising, hope it's all good signs for next week.

Febes - snap, can't believe it's 38 weeks tomorrow! That's serious.

I had my MW appt this afternoon, my bp is up a bit which worried me, but she said it's still well within the normal range so not a problem. Also there was also a trace (she said small trace) of protein in my urine, but again she said nothing to worry about at all and that it was probably because my sample was so concentrated (I had forgotten to drink much this morning ). Anyway, she's not worried about any of it and doesn't need to see me again for another two weeks as I'm low risk - that'll be 39+6! Is it the same everywhere? Should I be worried about my bp and protein? On the up side, MW was very sure that LO is head down, not engaged at all though but still at the 'brim'.

I think I'm prepared for the homebirth now - have my shower curtains and a bottle of champagne!! But worrying slightly after today's appt.

I forgot to say that I got my HIP grant too earlier this week, it's great! Gone in the savings account for now, it was going to go twords to double pushchair but my parents, grandmother and PIL all gave us money towards it and we ended up making a profit!

Belgianchocolates · 23/04/2009 20:58

I had the HIP grant letter arrive too.

Ds's new wardrobe is finally complete so I moved all his clothes from his old wardrobe + chest of drawers into his new one. To his big surprise he found his chest of drawers full of baby clothes today. He went all mushy over them, oohing and aahing He's just such a sweet boy. He's also v. excited about his grandparents coming over from Belgium tomorrow. He insisted on a bath (they never bathe on a Thurs as it's swimming on wed) and then proceded to tidy his room while still stark naked from the bath! When his dad told him to get his PJ's on he went: no I've got to have this tidied before Oma and Opa come over, if I've got to get dressed then you've got to carry on tidying! Lol

frazzledoldbag · 23/04/2009 20:59

Hi - quick message for those lusting after HotMilk nursing bras - there is a website called secretsales.com that is currently holding a secret sale for hotmilk. I've just bought 2 nursing bras (one the teal/black and one pink that I've been after for ages) for £14 each! And the matching pants are £7 and they seem to have most sizes available. If you want one you need to be quick as sale ends at midnight tonight. Also you need to register - it will ask if you were referred by a friend and if you enter my details (will post my email address on the secret society wall page in a min) I will get an incentive next time I shop (I think). Anyway just thought I'd let you girls know, I love a bargain!

Belgianchocolates · 23/04/2009 21:01

frazzled As long as you've had chickenpox yourself, your baby should be fine. I just remembered after noticing your f/b comment. Baby gets it's immunity from you.

Belgianchocolates · 23/04/2009 21:05

Thanks frazzled I'll have a quick look and imagine they'll fit

Momino · 23/04/2009 21:06

Hi all.

llareggub, sounds like a successful sweep! bet you're next (after reggiee prob). mine is scheduled for 1st may as i turn 40weeks.

sorry for Belgium, Blotted and others having problems/pains. hope you're feeling better.

runningmonkey and others - i've had the 'knitting needle' (ouch!)pain as well.

also had really heavy, period-y feeling today but it's gone away and I think it's baby moving down into position. or just gas and .

didn't do much today but lounge, eat yumyums, sleep for about 2 hours in the afternoon (bliss) and am sat here right now thinking about ironing. but just thinking about it .

looking forward to more baby news!

frazzledoldbag · 23/04/2009 21:09

Thanks belgian I wasn't worried really as I know I've had it already as a child and took DD2 to doc this afternoon to have the pox confirmed (nursery asked me to get it confirmed officially) and he said as long as I'd had it the baby would be fine. He also said even if the baby was born tomorrow and was in contact with DD2 after birth while she is still contagious the baby should 99% not catch it due to immunity from me. So was pleased to hear that, but thanks alot for backing this up!
It's still a worry - I believe for people who haven't had the pox it can cause terrrible problems in pregnancy. Nightmare.

Have posted my email address in the 'secret place' btw if you're interested. Am most excited about my bargain hunting this evening.
Also excited to have bought clary sage oil this morning - might have a bath with a bit in later. I thought it was meant to smell awful but I quite like it!

Sorry haven't had time to catch up on the chat yet. Will try and come back later on. x x

sophietom · 23/04/2009 21:09

wow it's all happening on here!
Congrats to Looby- lets hope her baby is out of SCBU soon
Fingers crossed all is going well for Reggiee, Jael and divedaisy

Funny reading about those of you whose colleagues are panicking that you'll go into labour at work. My colleagues don't seem too worried but the patients I work with (i'm an OT on a psych ward) won't go anywhere with me in case I go into labour! Nevermind last day tomorrow woohoo!

Jennster Thankyou so much for the cd- I listened to it yesterday when I got home from work and it seemed to help my backpain which is promising don't you think? And I fell asleep (but I was shattered!)

flippineck · 23/04/2009 21:13

I haven't had a letter about the HIP grant, I just noticed that it had appeared in my bank account.

frazz - thanks for the tip about the Hotmilk sale. Sadly I'm too big for HM bras!

Momino · 23/04/2009 21:15

frazzled, hope your dd2 is feeling better, poor lass.

HiP, got the money in my account last week but did receive a letter of confirmation in today's post. I applied end of Jan.

FiKelly · 23/04/2009 21:53

Hi Everyone... I can't believe since i last had a chance to post there's been not only a new thread but some more imminent arrivals to be and looby's announcement... great congrats to looby and her DH.

Sorry i've not been posting over the last few days... i've barely had the time to lurk and read through everyones news. DS started pre school this week and i've had to rapidly source some new flooring for the apartment in the areas that have had work done in the last week. Our dog is unwell again and had to go to the vet and plenty of other not v interesting jobs needing done too. Needless to say i'm totally cream crackered and because of all the running around like a nutter and lifting stuff i've had a really sore time with braxton hicks etc. No signs of a plug or anything else here yet... so reckon i've still a while to go yet (she hopes as there's still a week before our place is habitable again).

Thought i'd update our latest list a bit with dates and the news so far... I updated the wks based on tomorrows date seeing as we're nearly friday already. Hope i got it right and not made any major boo's

DH needs laptop for a while so off to plug in phone and try to keep up on it instead!!
