looby am glad you sorted next Sat out but you in no way were being unreasonable! Anyhooo from the sound of it, it was your MIL making a fuss for the sake of it.

To everyone who has family overseas and responded to my moan yesterday, thank you. I spoke to my dad before he decided on brothers flights and told him that I thought leaving brother with only one week in the UK wasn't great and it put too much pressure on me, but it seems to have gone in one ear and out the other. Oh well, flights are all booked.Nothing I can do except get this baby out on time now! 2 weeks 6 days and counting......

febes you deserve a medal for housing and "feeding" your SIL! I could not be doing with sharing my space with anyone else at the moment. However, it may nice to have a live in babysitter? Does she assist with that at all?

Names wise, it looks like Rufus Daniel for a boy ( could be reversed if need be depending on if he looks like a Rufus or not!) and either Emily, Molly or Jessie (Jessica) for a girl. Could all change though in the next 2 weeks 6 days.

Febes · 13/04/2009 13:56

Helen- It is good having a live in babysitter and she does do what ever I ask her to do but she just doesn't think to do it herself. She's not young she's 30 but just not domesticated at all.

emmabemmasmom · 13/04/2009 15:21

Hi ladies!

Thank you again for all the messages yesterday! I ended up going to bed at 8:30 and sleeping till 9:30am! DH got up with DD which was so nice! I didn't like his moaning comment either...however we were talking and I said I don't like to moan so much and he smirked so I laughed and said what? I don't remember it being this hard with DD and he said not to take it the wrong way but I didn't moan as much last time! So I guess in that way it was ok...but yeah still made me a bit

Feeling a little better today. I don't know if I should have but I gave in last night and took some Beechams all in one liquid...is that ok? Did the trick but I don't want to take it if it is not ok...

I tried to catch up as much as I can but can't remember who said what! So, hope everyone is doing well and I am passing hugs, high fives and a shoulder to cry on for those who need any of the above!

MsG · 13/04/2009 15:59

Gosh, I really can't keep up... Hope you are all OK. llareggub, sorry you're not well, and you too emmabemmasmum. I'm not sure about the Beechams liquid - best to check with pharmacist if you're not sure I think.

llareggub, I emailed you about the facebook group, but I might have got your address wrong!

I'm waking up every few hours now - not always for the toilet, but just waking a lot. Just under 3 weeks of work left...

Momino · 13/04/2009 16:05

Hi all. Hope everyone having a good bank holiday monday. Glad some of you are feeling better from yesterday.

ladyhelen, it's not the same dilemma as yours since my in laws planned this trip a year ago, but i must have the baby by 8 May (am due 1st) - they'll be on hol from 9th, my sis goes back to the US on 8th so we won't have anyone to watch DDs from then. i'm just hoping that stressing about it now doesn't 'make' me late. best to relax.

minimagnum! after all the chat about them here, I've asked DH to pick up some. unfortunately not on a deal but never mind.

also had some 'illegal' brie - grilled it on toast so should have been ok right ? well ate it anyway and am still here, baby squirming so seems ok as well.

speaking of food, I've gained 26lbs! I'm also filling out my jeans now. in the 1st 8 months, all food/calories seemed to go to baby bump but now looks like baby's slowing down and I'm getting to keep some of the weight (thank you, baby3 ).

Momino · 13/04/2009 16:09

just had a quick look on facebook and seems most of our posts are about sleep (actually lack of), grumpiness, etc. it's just not feasible, sleep, in 9th month of pregnancy? hope you're at least able to have a nap to revive.

Jennster · 13/04/2009 17:30

Spider naevi anybody?

emmabemma Don't take any more beechams (but don't worry that you have). 2 paracetamol tablets upto 4 times a day, steam inhalation three times a day and plenty of fluids are the most you can take for a cold. If you have a sore throat then you can take basic strepsils or tunes. Hot lemon and honey for comfort and fluids too. Beechams all in one is rubbish anyway. It doesn't have a full dose of paracetamol in it even.

Had a fantastic day today at Rufford Old Hall We took a picnic to eat in the grounds and then went round the house. Prepared some slow roasted lamb with lemon garlic and tomatoes with lemony garlicy potatoes which are just about ready to eat with a greek salad. Mmmmmmm.

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 17:32

Afternoon everyone,

It's a lovely day here today and for some reason I can't convince the dcs to go out. They want to watch telly, but I banned it until 5 hoping that would get them out of the house, but no...

Anyway, went shopping today for the last bits for my labour bag. It's all packed and ready now. I also treated the dcs with visit to pizza hut and off course the ice cream factory. It was very nice and cosy, us 3 together until a 16th b'day party arrived next to us. There were probably 20 16yo girls there all chatting and screaming like they do at that age and I couldn't hear what my dcs were saying. So we just quickly ate and went.

I also went to be measured and fitted for a nursing bra and it seems like I'm going to have to go for an off the scale size bra. So far for my dreams of a gorgeous sexy Hotmilk bra . I tried on a 36G (am currently 38F), the biggest cup size they did in both Mothercare and M&S and it was just perfect, so no room for my milk coming in. So where are you girls with the bigger norks getting their nursing bras from?

Last thing I got nearly made me fall over backwards, it was so expensive. I lost my prescription sunglasses a couple of months ago and have been really missing them, especially in the car. So I popped into my optician's today and bought a new pair, as I've got bad eyes, I needed the extra thin lenses. Anyway, it cost me £275! Really, I nearly fainted, but I do need them. I hate driving with the sun in my eyes. Can't wait for that grant to arrive in my account!

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 17:35

emmab I just remembered. You shouldn't take Beechams or any of the other cold remedies while pregnant. Unfortunately there's not much you can take for a cold when pregnant I'm afraid. Paracetamol and if you've got a sore throat some Soothers or something like it are OK too, but that's about it. Check with the pharmacist if there's a cough syrup you can have.

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 17:39

Just had a look on f/b for the midland meet up. Am I right to think most of us can't make it?

LoobyLou36 · 13/04/2009 18:04

Evening ladies.

Have just spent a couple of very pleasant hours in a country pub garden with DH, DSD, a pg friend , her DH and their cute 2yr old son.

Have caught the sun tho and am now sporting a red nose and cheeks - where is that aftersun!?
Friend is a week overdue and is going into hospital for a membrane sweep tommorrow to try to start her off. If she hangs on any longer we'll be in hospital together!

She's told me that she wants first dibs on the birthing pool have told her I'm not allowed it cos of medication anyway

Enjoy your meet up tommorrow I've got the dentist. But my niece is colouring and cutting my hair for iminent hospital visit afterwards

LoobyLou36 · 13/04/2009 18:08

DSD is happy as larry bouncing on her trampoline and DH is cutting the grass. I have been told to go and lie down for an hour. I knackered myself out earlier cleaning out and hoovering my car for 1.5hrs!

I've got the meat marinading for a BBQ tea and have prepared the dauphenoise potatoes so might go and sit on the swing seat outside with my feet up and a weak wine spritzer and watch DH work for a change!

daizydoo · 13/04/2009 18:36

Sounds like people have had a good day today. I had some friends around today who I haven't seen for a couple of years as they live abroad, which was really nice and of course ds wowed them!! I was a bit worried how the day was going to go when ds was demanding pizza for breakfast!!

I getting frustrated (again!) trying to tidy and sort the house out. Everytime I think I've cracked a room I look back and its in a state again! It doesn't help that I think I'm coming down with a cold and feel generally grotty.

My mum's having treatment tomorrow which means I'm not allowed to go near her for about a week, which is

Jennster re Spider naevi - I've googled it and think I had one with ds. Its never completely faded (he's 2 now), but hasn't come back as bad with this pregnancy. It doesn't really bother me as its on my chest...

Tummum · 13/04/2009 18:43

Evening ladies. Well I have returned unscathed from our camping trip and am putting my feet up after unloading the caravan. We had a lovely time but it is a lot of work being away in a caravan. Also I couldn't have a shower because I couldn't it in the cubicle so looking fwd to a lovely long bath tonight !

Fellow midlanders - I can't make tomorrow's meet up tomorrow either because I want to see the MW about my ever swelling feet. I can't even walk now, so want to get checked out, and I don't think driving would be a good idea. Also, it looks from FB that Jael isn't very well. Hugs to her too.

Bad Mummy story alert - DD2 is watching TV after playing outside for most of the afternoon. She was playing with a peg (I didn't realise) and then started to cry and shout "owch, hand Mummy." DH and I then laughed at her for a little bit without realising the peg was still attached to her hand... poor thing ! I was mortified when I realised and she now has a bright red hand Luckily it can't be that bad because Easter chocolate seems to have recovered her composure !

emmabemmasmom · 13/04/2009 19:19

Belgian Thanks for the Beechams warning I was just so desperate last night for some relief! I figured if I could have a small glass of wine, then why not a shot of cold medicine? lol Won't take anymore though...grr lol

matthew sorry you are finding things so hard at the moment! I know how you feel though. We are also in a smallish flat and finding space for everything is proving to be difficult. Just try to take a few days to relax and think of some cheap space saving ideas...maybe try freecycle for an extra set of drawers or shelves and baskets? Go through stuff and post on Ebay or even on MN to make some extra space and cash? Would for sure take a few days to relax though! Hope you feel better soon...and you will get there in the end!

Ah well...going to take a long bath and then get into my nice newly changed bed. Oh how I love clean sheet day!! It is the little things eh?

FiKelly · 13/04/2009 19:33

belgian re nursing bras for huge boobs.. I'm normally a bravissimo girl.. but have expanded past their size range so now onto the NCT own brand range and thinking of one on envie.co.uk by bravado I think.. I'm on my phone at mo so sorry about lack of links. they are quite totally unglamorous unfortunately

llareggub · 13/04/2009 19:35

emma I have a cold too. I'm suffering with paracetamol and lots of water. I would love a lemsip!

Quick question: I've had a dull period-like pain all day, but just recently it is getting stronger. Lots and lots of movement from baby, too. It is hard to describe but I feel like my fanjo is expanding. I remember a similar feeling with DS but obviously having been induced, I've no idea whether this is normal for this stage or just the beginning of something...anyone got anything similar?

emmabemmasmom · 13/04/2009 19:43

llareggub Ohhh it is aweful isn't it?!? I hate it when it is so bad that you can't even sleep! Oh like we need another reason to not sleep! So we cannot even have Lemsip?? Well I have had a few since being pg...is that not good then either? lol Bad pg mommy... lol

I just got some nursing bras on Ebay actually...using some of my money from stuff I sold. I only got new ones with tags though lol as I am a little weirded out about wearing someone elses under thingies. Found quite a few larger sizes so maybe worth a look?

FiKelly · 13/04/2009 19:44

what are Spider naevi?

dh and I have almost finished emptying ds's big room in advance of it getting sub-divided on wed. our flat now has everything from that room crammed into every other room we have. we're both shattered and I mostly just kept ds occupied.. what a way to spend easter.. also not been sleeping comfortably either which hasn't helped. feet and hands swelling up a little too. off to consultant tomorrow to discuss birth options.. just realised I've not done my birth plan eek! better go and get it done..

FiKelly · 13/04/2009 19:49

llareggub re pains I never had a labour with ds so not sure.. are the pains right across your tummy or in just one place?

pulapula · 13/04/2009 19:49

emmabemmasmom- i think the issue with medication during pg is that they can't/don't do clinical trials on pg women so they just have to say to consult your GP etc before taking. I am sure there can't be much in lemsip that is wrong, as i thought it was mostly paracetemol which is allowed. I'm sure i've had some too . I guess Jennster, as a pharmacist, probably knows best lol.

llareggub · 13/04/2009 19:54

I should have clarified re lemsip, I can't have it because of GD.

The pains really are in my lower tummy, really low down. Baby is dancing down there, it feels like! One thing that has struck me is that I have had a full dose of paracetamol all day, so maybe the pain isn't as dull really as I thought. Hmm!

Febes · 13/04/2009 20:04

I took DD swimming this morning and I am really suffering now with SPD and to make matters worse LO is playing rugby inside me. I feel kicks and punchs in my ribs and fanjo and they really hurt. I can honestly say until this week I have felt so good but I am really feeling it now.

detsy · 13/04/2009 20:15

Belgian just posted on FB - I can still make it if you still want to but think its just you and me!! Let me know if you want to go ahead girl - no probs either way!

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 20:15

llare It's difficult to say what your period type pain is really. If it keeps getting stronger, then it could be the start of something exciting. If it stays the same or wears off over the next few hours it could be just Braxton Hicks. Did you say the pain comes and goes? Or is it just constantly there?

Thanks fi Luckily I think I'm still within the Bravissimo range, so I've got a bit more choice. Last time I went up 4 cup sizes after my milk had come in and stayed that way for a good 4 months. So if I'm an F-G now, I can't bear to think what I'll be like in a few weeks [hopeful BC emoticon] time DH, who knows nothing whatsoever about women's underwear, exept that he's a big fan of basques, told me to just either buy a too small one that's cheap or buy a normal maternity one (in M&S they go up to an I cup) and cut slits in them for access for the baby , rather than spending lots of money on a well fitted nursing bra. Now only a man would suggest such a thing, wouldn't he.
