Here we go !

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 20:18

detsy I'm still up for it. I had already promissed the dcs a trip to the farm, so I was going to go anyway. A shame that none of the others can make it though. We'll have to find another date, but our due dates are getting a bit close now.

Tummum · 13/04/2009 20:20

Llare I have been having some twinges like this too and I have been putting it down to things getting ready, IYSWIM. I was induced with DD1 and knew something was up with DD2 when the pains were regular. Are yours regular?!

Febes sorry to hear your SPD got worse with swimming. I find this too - hopefully it will ease off overnight and you will feel better in the morning.

detsy Just read my post, it's a bit confusing. I've also left a less confusing message on f/b

sausagenmash · 13/04/2009 20:25

Evening all - I had some VERY naughty illegal pate earlier - only a bit mind! GOD, it tasted good! Am raring up for my last week at work - woooohooo! Starting mat leave on Saturday with brunch with an old friend, a haircut, and a matinee in town with dp using vouchers we got for Christmas. Can life get any better?

Looby - not long now!!

Llare - omg, keep us posted!

llareggub · 13/04/2009 20:28

belgian the pain has gone now, but has been there all day and has been getting more painful. I wouldn't say it really, really hurts though, it is more like a period pain. I took more paracetamol an hour or go to combat my headache (woe is me) so it could be the pain relief working! My lower back is hurting too. I can also feel a pressing down intermittently on my fanjo.

Ah well, wait and see! I'm seeing the consultant on Wednesday anyway. The bad news is that norovirus is back in my hospital, great!

Febes · 13/04/2009 20:51

Do you think LO might have turned back to back as I'm getting so many kicks on the right side of my bump a few days ago it was a hard mound which was the bum and back but I can't feel that anymore. Will it turn around again??? Will I have to join the bum in the air brigade??? Bugger the baby was in such a good position and I was getting very little uncomfort. It might explain the sudden SPD as well

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 21:00

llare sounds like it was braxton hicks too me. They can get worse as your pregnancy progresses. Maybe baby is starting to engage and that's why you've got the pressing down feeling in you fanjo.

febes generally if a baby is back to back most of your movements are at the front rather than side. Is that what you're feeling? It doesnt sound like breech from what you're describing, but without actually feeling your bump I couldn't tell.

My own lo's position is a complete mistery to me. I can definitely feel a back on the left (yay, at least it's doing one thing right), but the movement is all over otherwise. I get kicks in my ribs, side and bum at the same time. So is it feet kicking my bum or hands or even a head just pressing down? No idea. I'll know for sure on Thursday I suppose. My instinct tells me it's turned thoug, but still, can't help but worry...

Time to watch heroes now. Will be back for a quick check after and then to bed.

detsy · 13/04/2009 21:18

Hey girls - gosh so many ladies feeling poo at the mo - not long to go for any of us - all very exciting!!

I haven't slept for 2 days due to mad bad lower back pains, mega BH and weeing every 5 mins but I guess its all prep for the next few weeks ;) Oh not to mention the overactive mind thinking thru all that needs to be done in next few weeks...ho hum

Glorious weekend weather - makes me feel so much better! First BBQ of the season today at the neighbours - was scrum and lotti had a ball with their LO as well.

Looby I'm soooo excited for you Hope you get the support issue sorted with DH/DSD/MIL. My induction took hours and my DP was bored out of his tiny mind, and in hindsight, he could have easily disappeared for a while. I was already in latent labour when they started with the gel pessaries but still took 7 hours to get to 5cm (and active). So he could go with you to get settled in, stay for an hour or so to keep you company, disappear for a few hours - with mobile on!! and then come back. Take plenty to do like books, mags, ipod, nintendo, sudoko etc etc!! Gosh am soo soo excited for you!!! Mind you, on the other hand after the 2nd set of gel after about 6 hours total - my mum and DP said lets walk to the canteen and get some tea which i agreed to and then once there (about 2 miles from labour ward...) my labour really started to kick in and i regretted the decision to wander off HUGELY (so just a tip - if you're going to wander do it in the first half of your induction )

Belgian will catch up on FB and leave you my mobile number etc. I should be able to get there about 1030am - looking forward to it!!

detsy · 13/04/2009 21:29

Just read that back - sounds like its my DP who will be oing with you :O Seeing as he toady said he didn't understand why he needed to be there at all, I doubt he'd be up for it really, lol!!

detsy · 13/04/2009 21:32

Yeah, me talking to myself again, yada yada yada....

Still not packed a bag of any description (visualises a very classy carrier bag stuffed at last minute....) - BUT wardrobes are BRILL and practically finished so can put things away this week and sparkly new bags for hospital should arrive and be packed on Wed too

detsy · 13/04/2009 21:33

appalling typing - time for beds methinks

LoobyLou36 · 13/04/2009 21:37

well done on the wardrobes detsy

I had a sort out in DSD room yesterday and DH added an extra rail so I could store LO clothes in there too - seeing them all hanging in there makes it allseem more real
Just think in a weeks time I'll be a mum!!
I haven't packed bag yet either

emmabemmasmom · 13/04/2009 21:48

Oh my god I just had the most moment!!!

POSSIBLE TMI ALERT: lol

So, I got in the shower...and a few min later DH joined me. I asked why, and he said it has been a while so ok, we were showering...and one thing led to another, as it does, and we actually managed (don't know how in my pg state) to get it on while standing in the shower, but whatever ok...well not whatever...it was nice, but anyway lol

Right after, we were giggling and I stopped and said...'I think your dad is here!' DH was like 'what??' FIL just lets himself in, which is fine really as we live upstairs but have our door downstairs so he usually knocks and then uses his key and calls our names as he comes up the stairs...

Next thing there is a knock at the bathroom door and sure enough it is my FIL. DH says 'Just a min!!'...

FIL sitting on our couch and can see the bathroom door as DH comes out in a towel...and a few moments later...I come out in a towel and I get the 'Oh god I am so sorry to ruin the moment' comment from FIL And to top it off after I got dressed and came into the living room he kept going on about it and laughing! I turned beet red and was laughing like a loon (I laugh when I am nervous)...

It is pretty obvious since we have DD and I am knocked up again...but still!! I was mortified!

We were even thinking we couldn't remember the last time we showered together...yeah well now we are scared for life...

Going to bury my head in shame now lol

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 21:48

Oh no, The moment heroes finised the cat has just walked in with a dead bird. She's gone to hide under the paper basket now. No idea how I'll get that off her before I go to bed, but I can't let her rip it appart in the living room . 2nd time in 24h she's bein a pain.

Right. I'll go to bed now. DS just walked downstairs too. Can't beleive he's still awake.

Looby Less than a week and you'll be a mum! Gosh, that's scary!

OK, I'll hobble off after the cat now and then go to bed.

See you tomorrow detsy

Belgianchocolates · 13/04/2009 21:50

emmab Lol at your FIL interrupting your antics in the shower. I'd be equally !

emmabemmasmom · 13/04/2009 21:50

God just reading that back I am still

Also baffled at how we managed considering how crappy I still feel lol

Oh something must be wrong with me...

divedaisy · 13/04/2009 21:51

trying to catch up on a few pages but dh home wiith a bottle of magners! And Clive Owen on TV movie 'King Arthur' - very nice viewing!!

Momino · 13/04/2009 21:56

emmabsmom, first of all, impressed that you managed that. 2nd, lol at your FIL... how embarrassing!!

belgian, just finished heroes as well. considering watching the next episode on bbc3 but will prob do my s'bury's shopping and go to bed.

luckily I've got a mini magnum to savour .

MsG · 13/04/2009 22:07

emmabemmasmom, maybe your FIL will be a bit more careful in future - you shouldn't be embarrassed, he should!!

SpangleMaker · 13/04/2009 22:10

Belgian & detsy hope you have a good meet up tomorrow. Shame I can't be there - unsurprisingly I've not quite got it together for day trips just yet.

llareggub keep us posted - could be something exciting! In my case that sort of pain was the beginning of my labour but it could also be the head engaging.. I actually didn't notice H engaging but I guess he was small so maybe that was why. Good luck anyway, and hope your cold is better soon.

DH gave Harvey a bath this evening. He loves the water but hates coming out! He's nodded off just now and I'm trying to remember what time I last fed him.... I can't wait until I can rely on him to ask whenever he's hungry as I find the routine thing really hard. I seem to be clock watching the whole time.

Thank you to everyone who left lovely messages about Harvey. Obviously I think he's totally gorgeous & cute but it's lovely to hear other people say so too

Blottedcopybook · 14/04/2009 01:57

I am totally not going to be able to sleep. I was on the radio tonight and got a cup of BBC coffee to tide me over, it was really strong so that plus nerves mean I'm wide awake! Baby is moving about loads too.

Have you all had a nice weekend?

daizydoo · 14/04/2009 03:59

Blotted - that sounds intriguing - why were you on the radio? Hope you managed to go to sleep.

I'm currently wide awake as I have indigestion - and know I'm going to feel awful when my alarm goes off in a few hours.

Momino · 14/04/2009 06:54

blotted and daizy, hope you two got some sleep. can you nap during today at all?

i got a bit of sleep but still up (like most of us) a few times in the night. should really use cushions to support like some of you advise. will try tonight.

nothing planned for today, it's a bit rainy. I really don't feel like going to far with the 2 toddlers, I don't have the energy to go very far either with 3yr old walking or pushing the heavy P&T. need to get the Maclaren back out to encourage the buggy board with dd1.

Momino · 14/04/2009 06:55

llareggub, how are you feeling today? any changes?

LoobyLou36 · 14/04/2009 08:05
