KinderEggKayzr · 14/04/2009 10:05

Diege and GYo, someone on the dec 08 was told to drink a glass of fresh orange juice before giving a feed as it goes into the milk.

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 14/04/2009 10:06

i have bottle fed from day1 is currently having 3ozs 3 hourly

Diege · 14/04/2009 10:15

That's interesting KAYZ! Same principle I suppose! BTW, have been meaning to say for days that your hair looks fab

lardybump · 14/04/2009 10:15

trying to book hotel there is one near race course is that with in walking distance to where we are meeting?

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 14/04/2009 10:18

any thought ladies about which buggy?
which doll?
and which playhouse?

sorry to keep asking cant decide

Diege · 14/04/2009 10:27

TINKS, I'd go for silver cross pram in end as looks sturdier and would sell on well on E-bay. Like the pink playhouse you showed yesterday, esp as you say it won't be crammed full of toys
Hi LB! Think we are considering meeting in Betty's ? (well, outside) which is pretty much city centre if I remember correctly. If you fancy I could 'call for' you and LOs on the Sat morning and walk up together?

Diege · 14/04/2009 10:28

LB, think racecourse is pretty close to city centre, but maybe KAYZ would know for sure?

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 14/04/2009 10:33

CHEERS diege main reason unsure about silvercross one is the colour he has a black maclaren one and is filfthy
wondered if little tikes one would be sturdier and like the fact that it has a kitchen in it

KinderEggKayzr · 14/04/2009 10:38

According to this it is 1.76 miles. Directions

I can't believe that. I used to walk from college to York nearly everyday and back again and thats 2.65 miles!!!

OP posts:
KinderEggKayzr · 14/04/2009 10:41

There are lots of buses too.

OP posts:
sorkycakey · 14/04/2009 10:43

Tink I would go for twin dolls and Silver cross pram.
I can't give an opinion on the playhouse because the first link blinded me with it's pinkness . Like the trampoline too. Your girls look set for a great time this Summer.

Never heard that about OJ Diege. I know OJ is meant to be one of those foods that can give them wind though, same as onions and garlic iirc.
We think Dd2 has the family intolerance to strawberries
every day I have a bowl of muesli with vanilla yoghurt and chopped strawberries and it's making her come out in a rash.
My mum says she and my sister both break out if they eat too many. I don't have that problem, but it looks like my eating them is causing the bm to give the same reaction. I love strawberries.

Have no idea where the racecourse is. I'll be parking opposite the Uni I think. 'Something-gate' carpark.

lardybump · 14/04/2009 10:44

bugger I cant stay there as you have to book for two nights.... Right next one then...

Sparklytwinkletoes · 14/04/2009 10:50

Hi everyone, sorry for absence, was away over BH weekend.

Gruff, I had four days of latent labour with DS - hope its now kicked in for good, but if it hasn't, I'm sure it won't be long!

Ses - have you packed your bag yet? Do it today if not, your 'term' from 37 weeks don't forget and it would be a nightmare to have to rush in without anything ready! (Have I scared you into action yet). Besides, there's nothing worse than having to send DH off to collect bits you've forgotten when he could be fetching cups of tea for you!

NJ - Fab to hear from you, glad the short term pressure is off and hope it stays that way.

GYO - Hope you get some good support from the BF counsellor, sounds like you're doing fab to me. It is normal and good for both you and baby to spend lots and lots and LOTS of time BF and bonding, cuddling, looking at each others face etc... I still look back really wistfully on those days - its just not quite the same when they're shovelling down the food with the hands and running away as soon as they're done! . Is her latch beginning to improve? If not, get the BF counsellor to come and see you and help out - you'll be really pleased that you did it.

Have you got some breastfeeding tops, or maybe a big pashmina for feeding when you're out - alternatively, a lot of shops / shopping centres etc have private feeding areas so you don't have to do it in public anyway. My HV gave me a list of all the BF friendly places in my town which was a great help.

Oooh pants, gotta fly, got a dr's appt in a few minutes - my skin has been super itchy and I don't think I'm supposed to take my normal meds.... driving me potty though (its eczema, not that cholestasis thing, so don't panic anyone!!!)

Catch you all later, x

sorkycakey · 14/04/2009 10:51

how about this LB?

KinderEggKayzr · 14/04/2009 10:55

Nice to hear from you STT. Hope your GP gives you someething to help.

I'll be coming by bus, I'm going to bring DS2 but leave DS1 with DH hopefully.

DH is applying for his old job back that he had before the job he was laid off from. Looks good as he doesn't really need any training.

OP posts:
KinderEggKayzr · 14/04/2009 11:08

LB, there is this B&B Cooks We know the owner and she is lovely!!!

OP posts:
lastboxoftampons · 14/04/2009 11:11

Hi everyone!

Haven't had time for a proper, proper catch up but did read enough to know that the little Gruffalo is imminent! Hoping you're comfy and that your LO is with you soon!

GYO - hoping BFing gets easier, although I agree with the others, sounds like you're doing a fab job!

Ses, I can't believe you're packing your bag already! Where has the time gone!?!?

Kay - best of luck for your DH and his new old job!

Sorky - about strawberries! I think my FIL is allergic and I do worry that it will get passed on to our LOs. I have really fond memories of strawberry picking as a child and would really love to take my kids one day.

Hi STT, Tink, Diege, LB and everyone else

I think I need a holiday after the holiday! We crammed lots in, not the least of which was a major, major shopping trip to Purley Way. Think we've sorted out a cot and pram. Ses, I think we're going to go with the Vigour too - although the 2009 one as it lies flat with no carrycot.

KinderEggKayzr · 14/04/2009 11:11

That is a mile from the centre. It is near the the racecourse.

OP posts:
SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/04/2009 11:41

Morning!

Ok...confession time....still no packed bag...
Keep nagging me ladies! I have lots of stuff for the bag all together on a shelf so won't take much...
Things got taken over yesterday when I went supermarket shopping and decided I couldn't put everything away until I'd cleaned the fridge!

LBOT - We've got the 2009 vigour for exactly that reason. We're both v pleased with it so far!

GYo - sounds like your instincts are kicking in well, so go with them

Sparkly - hope your GP gives you something to help the itching.

Diege - is it still only a choice from 7 pairs of jeans??!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/04/2009 11:50

Meant to say, I've had a letter from the community visiting team inviting me (and a load of other mums2be) to a 2hr session this afternoon in preparation. Will be good to get a feel for the HV/MW home visiting team before the birth.

going to go for my first annie without function.
prob baby annabell pram the dark colour on silvercross one worries me to much about looking dirty

lastboxoftampons · 14/04/2009 11:53

Oh, right, Ses - I thought you got the 08, but I think maybe that was Cosmo. I also liked the Bebe Confort Streety, although DH wasn't particularly on board. I'm just slightly worried about the wheels on the Britax - they seem really big. Did you think that? I can imagine you'll be doing lots of country walks with the dogs, etc. We don't really need something too rustic, but I did want something robust enough as we dont' have a car and will be doing lots of walking and we have a really lovely big park a block away that we'll be in all summer, no doubt.

Get packing, girl! ....although, now that I think of it, if you don't you'll likely be tempting fate and little Ses will be here sooner! I'm dying to know what flavour!!!!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/04/2009 11:58

Thanks for nagging tink and LBOT!

LBOT - think you're right, Cosmo has the 2008. Tbh, the more robust larger wheels was a plus point for us. They don't seem too big though and when we've played around with it collapsing it, etc they haven't really stuck out as too big and awkward.
Can't believe you were only down the road from me at Purley Way at the weekend! (Well probably about a 30 min drive). Maybe we'll have to do a mini meet up there!!
Also, keep meaning to ask whether you know how Londonlottie is?

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/04/2009 12:00

Ooh! Now all this talk of pcking bags and syndicates... Anyone would think that I'm going to have a baby soon!!

I tell you what, I'll kick off my syndicate once Gruffette is with us!
