Congrats to everyone who's had scans, looks like it's going to be a week for the boys! things seem to be evening up a bit.

BellaCullen · 18/05/2009 18:33

CookieMonster1,HappyTangerine,KKKaty congratulations on your scans and for having boys.So its 5-4,boys really caught up now wondering what the next scan will reveal.Mine is next week friday so still a while.

Treats feel so sorry for you friend and what an a* her DH is.

Feeling a bit worried about where baby is lying, seems really low it always kicks right above my bladder.Anyone else baby lying low?

twinklegreen I like Emilia its lovely name. We`ve got Nathaniel for a boy and Lilly-Mae for a girl.I like lots of other girl names can discuss with DP when we know the sex.

rubyslippers · 18/05/2009 19:31

lovely names Bella

My baby is laying awkwardly with its' spine pressing against my tummy which is why they took ages to scan me

just like DS - awkward

fidelma · 18/05/2009 21:35

evening all congrats on all the scans and to all the boys.I've got my scan tomorrow. They don't tell you what flavour, but I am hoping/not hoping for a wee look!!!
I am feeling more movement today.20 weeks tomorrow.I will be glad to see that everything is OK.

I love the names.Freddie and poppy and another ie endding would be great the names have to go together(well for a few years anyway!!)DH and I don't really agree on many names which is quite hard.Ava , Eva and Evie are all lovely.

HappyTangerine · 18/05/2009 22:52

Good luck for tomorrow fidelma Hope baby is co-operative so you can get a good look

We only really had one boy's name that we both loved from day 1 so am pretty sure we're going to go with that - Gabriel. Our surname ends in el as well but the two strangely work together. It would have been Sophia if a girl.

Bella and fidelma - love the names

theboob · 19/05/2009 07:20

congratulations on all the scan and little boys!
good luck for scans today

love all the names and the name eva , but not for me as it's my surname

will check back later for scan news

HumphreysCorner · 19/05/2009 08:57

Good luck for todays scans.

HappyTangerine and CookieMonster-yay for the boys.

Treats-that is the saddest thing I have heard in a long time. She should leave him and may be more successful conceiving with someone more human. and

Bought a denim skirt off Ebay for £12-49 inc P&P and it is immaculate and fits like a dream so now have a skirt for summer even thought it is blue denim.

Off to the garden centre today to get some things for my pots and hanging baskets. One of my cucumber plants has pegged it so need to replace that.

Love to all!

21 weeks!

peachespaige · 19/05/2009 10:20

Morning all. Im off to the doctors around 11am and hoping she'll have a listen for the heart beat.
Great names. We had Gabriel on our list but a friend called her ds it so we've sadly taken it off.
My friend had a baby girl named Molly yesterday!!! We also had that name for one of my other pregnancies but its very popular round here so we removed that one too!
I like Lila, which is why I've picked Delilah as a middle name after Annie (DP Granny that died ), I also had a friend that died named Lila
Boys are lovely (Ive got 2), full of energy and life.
Well wish me luck for today.x

Lameez · 19/05/2009 10:24

Morning Everyone

Treat - I?m really sorry to hear about your friend, that is so sad; I hope she will be ok.

Congratulations to everyone on the scan results, it?s almost even now?.

HumphreysCorner Good luck with the pot plants, I am completely useless at growing stuff

I think all the names are really sweet, I am thinking I will hold back the name I was thinking for both a boy and a girl, as when I mentioned it to most members of my family they all looked at me like I was crazy or something, what nice is that DH is supportive and likes the name.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day

DevilsAdvocaat · 19/05/2009 10:52

hello everybody!

yay for boys! starting to even up now

have had hectic few days, trying to take it easy now as am working tomorrow and thursday and we have a busy weekend again.

does anyone else long for a weekend where they do nothing?!

we've decided to re-do our bathroom too. hopefully before the new baby comes. hope it isn't too stressful. anyone got any experience? tips to share?

some lovely names floating around on this thread.

HappyTangerine · 19/05/2009 11:02

peachespaige good luck at the doctors

HC if you find the secret to growing cucumbers please, please let me know - I managed to kill every sincle one of mine last year.(sob). And the courgettes

Lameez - memners of my faily looked at me like I was a loon when I mentioned the names we liked as well. I picked a few choice ones that I knew they would hate [evil grin icon], added in James Tiberius Kirk as they know I'm a bit of a Trekkie and hey presto - they suddenly LOVED the original choices and we haven't heard a peep out of them since

Treats · 19/05/2009 11:05

Had a message from hospital yesterday rescheduling my scan to this afternoon!! It's not that much earlier than it would have been - only two days - but I feel all unprepared for it. I hate the way they call it an 'anomaly scan' - I feel like I shall be coming out with a list of all the things that are wrong with it! Obviously I feel more apprehensive because of the gastroschisis diagnosis at the last scan (which fortunately turned out to be nothing). Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone.

We've decided not to find out the sex, although if ours turns out to be an exhibitionist, then that will be that. I'll report back if we find out accidentally. .

BellaCullen I have the same concern as you - it feels really low down. I'll ask the sonographer this afternoon and see what they say.

I tried to call my friend last night to see how she is, but she didn't answer and hasn't returned my call. . I'm supposed to be seeing her tomorrow so will keep my scan photo well hidden.

hackneybird · 19/05/2009 11:08

Congrats on the scan cookie! Bella my nana was called Lillian May. It's a nice name, very feminine.

Humphrey, pleased to hear you finally found your skirt for summer! At a bargain price too.

lameez I'm also not telling anyone what names we choose. I might discuss it on here but not in RL. Although I'm totally stuck for boys names at the moment. I quite like Milo, although I know someone else with that name for their child. She's just someone I know through work rather than a friend though. What's the etiquette on that sort of thing?

Treats · 19/05/2009 11:08

Oooh DA - just saw your message. We had our bathroom done about two months ago. It took about a fortnight all told, so you might have to be prepared to make alternative shower arrangements. The only other tip I would give is to get one company in to do all the work (plumbing, tiling, etc.). If you try and co-ordinate it all yourself, it'll be a nightmare.

Really glad we got it done though. I feel a lot better about bringing baby into it.

DevilsAdvocaat · 19/05/2009 11:32

hackney bird i wouldn't worry about work friends. a very close friend might put me off but if you don't draw the line somewhere, there'll be no names left!

lixanismapolium · 19/05/2009 13:29

We had Zane all lined up for a boy ...... no clue which direction to go in now we know we're having a girl - thank goodness there's plenty of time to work something out!

So, Zane is up for grabs if anyone wants it!!!

JemL · 19/05/2009 13:37

Just popping in to try and catch up with everyone's news before heading off to my scan this afternoon!

Still haven't decided whether to ask about the sex...probably won't decide till I ge there, only to find out baby is in wrong position anyway!

So much happening with everyone!

fidelma · 19/05/2009 17:32

DH was working on the computer.I wanted to leave early so as to enjoy the whole experience.Left with no time to spare (20 week scan)Hit a pot hole 5 miles from home and 7 miles from hospital. The alloy broke DH now has to change tyre!!!!I am fumming at the road side.Ring hospital to tell them that we are on the way. They were very nice and I calmed down.DH managed to change tyre and we were off.My bladder now feeling fit to burst like the tyre!!!!Lovely MW takes us for the scan. She was amazing. She spent 40 mins going through everything.Telling us what she was doing and that everything was normal.Baby yawned and she replayed it in slow motion. We don't know what it is.I also had to empty my bladder as it was squashing the baby.Lovely to see.The best scan I have ever had.Good luck to the rest of you.Ithink my names are Connor or Iona.

LittleMissBliss · 19/05/2009 17:58

Hi all,

Just a quick post as i have to get ds's dinner ready.

Scan went really well and got lots of pictures, hands, legs, feet, profile and portrait, eight in total much better than last time!

So we are having a little boy! Hopefully i will get a little girl one day... but had a feeling that it would be a boy in the end as boys run in dps family.

Names i like are,

Joseph (dp's grandad)
Lucas
Dylan

But who knows at this stage, it took us ages to agree on Jacob for ds!

Congrats on todays scans girls. LittleMissBliss-he will be lovely and his big brother will adore him.

HappyTangerine-I now buy 2 cucumber plants as after the first 2 cucumbers they die off before they have chance to grow. At least I get 4 cucumbers this way.

Looking forward to more scan news.

SassJ · 19/05/2009 20:05

Ah, Fidelma - so glad you had such a great scan. Husbands can be totally infuriating, can't they?!
Can't wait for my scan, 2 weeks and 2 days away still and feel a bit like I'm in limbo before I know everything looks OK and what flavour we're having.
Know I shouldn't, but I'm hoping for a boy really because I know it will make my in-laws really happy - they're Greek and it will mean a lot to them to have a Grandson to carry the family name (my SiL had twin girls). I have a strong feeling it's a girl though, so they might be a bit disapointed, although they'd never say or show it - bless 'em. I'm more concerned about all of the bits being in the right places to be honest.
Don't have any choice on the name if it is a boy, will be named after it's Paternal Grandad (or 'Papu'), and I was going to go for Evelyn Flora if it's a girl, after both of my Grandma's. I was always going to do that, decided on it years ago. Only problem is that my cousin and his girlfriend have just had a little girl (and they were so sure it was a boy!) and called it Evie Florence - How bloody anoying is that?! Florence is our Grandmother, but Lord only knows where they got Evelyn from - arghh! Anyway, I guess (looking on the bright side) it gives me a chance to have a play with other names - what do you think of Delphi Christina, or Ariadne Christina? I like both, DH prefers Ariadne....

LittleMissBliss · 19/05/2009 20:23

HC I was a bit disappointed to find out it was a boy, but i am now really excited after having a good think about it, boys are lovely if a little energetic!

Hopefully they will be best friends as the age gap is just under two years. I am really looking forward to seeing my little boy! And lord knows we'll save so much money on clothes, i would have been a nutter if it had been a girl!!

idreamofbeanie · 19/05/2009 20:30

Hi,

congratulations on all the great scans . Fidelma - not surprised you were but I'm glad you got there in the end!

DP and I are finding it really difficult to agree on a name. We both like Caitlin or Erin for now but it changes daily. Plus my niece's name is Kayla and I'm not sure if that's too close to Caitlin - what do you all think?

SassJ - I'm not sure which I prefer, they are both lovely. I'd never heard Delphi before - is it quite common in Greece? - but the more I think about it the more I like it.

After not feeling any movements up to about 20 weeks the baby now seems to be constantly dancing about - I feel her kicking and wriggling really regularly now every day. It's lovely but she seems to be active all day and night - I hope she learns to sleep before she is born!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 19/05/2009 20:52

oh dear. just had a bout of food poisoning. Hope baby is ok. Feel a bit stupid really as it was something I cooked - lentil soup of all things.

I am feeling better and can keep fluids down. Might have the day off work tomorrow if I am still feeling rough.

beanie - I like Erin

As for those having boys - its great!

HumphreysCorner · 19/05/2009 21:01

LittleMissBliss-I know the feeling when I found out DD2 was a girl but it lasted all of a week and to have not got her would be just terrible.

HalfMum-your baby should be just fine as they cope with the terrible MS that some people suffer for 9 months.

Just had a cleanup of my Facebook 'friends' so deleted over 60 as sick of having friends I don't actually know. Feel cleansed now.
