Oh lix-you have all the excitement to come again next week. No clues at all then?

Hi HC - she said she thought she got a glimpse of 'something' and then completely changed her mind a couple of seconds later, so wasn't willing to give any indication at all! DH says it was definitely a girl ..... although I'm not certain what experience he has in this area

dillydallydaisy · 28/04/2009 21:45

Check out daisybump.blogspot.com/ for a daft cartoon pregnancy diary. Might make you giggle!

sammysam · 29/04/2009 08:01

OMG-how come this always happens?! I van't remember what I wanted to say to who!!!

Thanks all-I am feeling more relieved-will feel much better after the 20wk scan....

DP wwanted to find out the sex then said he didn't care (prob after I said I was sure it was another dd!!!) but i'm sure he'll go for it again. I feel almost guilty for going against what I said before-like I shouldn't find out.....but hey ho!

I'm going to Cyprus (I think! I keep forgetting it is Greek and begins with C-not that that helps alot!!) for my sisters hen do. DD is coming too. Still slightly worried about going-cos of the flying and any harm to the baby and also cos I still have ms....it could be very interesting

I'm feeling run down today-have a very sore throat and my hayfever has turned to a cold....

ICBINB See that is what worries me as my consultant was fairly certain that as nothing has shown yet all will be ok......which is very very very good if he is right and not just fobbing me off
Has anything shown in your scans to make them worry or is it just their policy? I was amazed what they can do! They zoned into the major artey in the brian and then we saw and listened to the blood flow!!! Crazy!

Well off to meet up with some friends this morning-one of which I haven't seen since Christmas-she tends to say alot with hidden meanings iynwim? And most of them not too nice.....the other friend is very very lovely and due in July. Our 3 dcs are all the same age so they love to play(tis the only reason I see friend 1!)

I hope everyone has a good day and any scans go well x x x

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 29/04/2009 09:23

Hi Sammysam.

My consultant did say previous scans were encouraging - I did ask her if I was moving away from the 'danger period' but she wouldn't commit to a definite answer and just said that there is obviusly a time-lag between me suffering the virus and the baby suffering. I think my consultant's approach is more 'her own arse covering' perhaps ?

We've got deep blue skys and brillian sunshine here - enjoy the day girls !!

littlepea72 · 29/04/2009 13:02

Hi everyone

I really cant remember who said what or even what is what! Im soooo tired! But i hope everyone is doing ok. Happy days for those who have had scans done....Sammysam, your consultant is a twat! But it all sounds good....as for flights, it doesnt seem to be a problem, but maybe your GP would be the best person to ask...im very about your holiday!
Whoever is looking to buy a house that someone was killed in....bugger!!!! Even if you didnt feel anything in the house, your mind would be hearing & seeing things lol....it would scare me!
Flame i hope you are ok, its a horrible thing to have. I suffered from Post tramatic stress disorder about 10 years ago (got held up in armed robbery 3 times at my work), i ended up taking the tablets which really did help. Everyone is different & i cant think what it must be like being pregnant with it, i hope you are ok....talking does help. x
I am now always hungry! Having to eat small but often or i feel sick, but cant fill myself lol...

rubyslippers · 29/04/2009 13:03

afternoon all

Sammy and ICBINB - hope you are feeling ok. When i was panicing that DS had slapped cheek the pharmacist cheerfully told me it was "nothing to worry about"

how is everyone else?

i woke up with a lovely rash and an infected finger ... i am so itchy as well ... TMI but I am scratching my boobs red raw - never know anything like it

am slathering on bio oil twice per day ... hopefully willl soon pass

MrsPuddleduck · 29/04/2009 13:31

I am just lurking here as I can't keep track of everyone

DillyDallyDaisy - I love your blog. I haven't fininshed reading it all but will do - you are really talented!

LittleMissBliss · 29/04/2009 14:09

Hi all lovely day here too!

Went to have some more bloods taken today because i am feeling so low and getting ill at a drop of a hat. Think i may be aneamic again.

Then took ds into town so i could quickly pick up some henna. I feel lousy so thought a new hair colour might cheer me up, wasn't sure about using normal dyes, i know hair is dead but thought better off with-out inhaling the chemicals.

Forgot how messy it was to put on and the fact that it resembled cow pat...mmmm lovely. Ds is napping so i'm hoping he stay asleep while i leave it on to develop. It says an hour but i'm going to try and keep it on for two for a stronger colour.

Hope you are all well, are there any scans today?

Afternoon everyone - I had a scan yesterday and all is well. Wee one measuring 14 and a bit weeks, so EDD kept at 26th October Might finally start to believe that we're having another baby soon!

rubyslippers · 29/04/2009 15:01

littlepea72 · 29/04/2009 15:24

rubyslippers · 29/04/2009 15:32

littlepea - what do you put on them?!

i have been using bio oil and not using perfumed stuff but seems to make no difference

Cazza28 · 29/04/2009 16:10

Hi All,

Not posted for a while but been reading up on you all! Glad to see things going well for most of you.

Just got a question to all of those with kids & working. My due date is 05th of October would it be possible for me to work up until 01st October? Or is that just silly?

LittleMissBliss · 29/04/2009 17:04

cazza i highly doubt that you'd want to work up untill 4 days before your due date when you start getting towards the 36 week mark and huge!! But There is nothing stopping you if that's what you want to do. I know a few mums who have worked right up untill their due date so that they have more time off with the baby on mat leave. But they found it hellish towards the end and a real struggled at work. But then some other mums i know didn't enjoy the mat leave before baby and found it boring! I was signed off sick at 20 weeks so had 20 weeks of boredom!

You never know your baby may come up to 3 weeks early... ds was 8 days early and i have a few friends who were 2 weeks plus early and one who was 5 weeks early.

If you really want to work up to the wire maybe a week before your due date may be better, that way you have a bit of time to chill and nest before your baby comes! But it's really up to you! You may feel happier keeping yourself busy or getting thingss sorted at work before you leave

littlepea72 · 29/04/2009 17:51

Ruby ive been using E45 lotion & shower gel lol...but nothing really works, if it gets bad then i put a cold wet cloth on them. It drives you crazy!

rubyslippers · 29/04/2009 17:52

Hi cazza

4 days before - hmmm ... think you will be pushing it

I am also due 5 October and plan on going off 2 - 3 weeks before to give me some time to rest

i have a horrid commute - an hour each way in the car and don't fancy that with a 9 month bump TBH

i finished 3 weeks before my due date last time

if you feel well there is no reason why you can't but you may just be utterly knackered!

rubyslippers · 29/04/2009 17:53

thanks littlepea - will try the cold flannel

theboob · 29/04/2009 18:56

congratulations on the scan lal

agree with everyone else on the mat leave, few weeks before would be ok , all i wanted to do was sleep

started my antenatel breast feeding group and it was fab , we learned about communication with the baby from in the womb, really interesting stuff and a few new slings and cushions i have never seen before

what have you decided on the house LMB?

ruby i also have itchy chest and have come out in pimples......not an attractive look

squidgeymiller · 29/04/2009 19:00

Hi Cazza, I went off 3 weeks before my due date last time and DD turned up 2 weeks late, hence 5 weeks of boredom, HOWEVER, I'm doing the same this time as although I was bored, I couldn't cope with having to work and deal with customers at that point. I was so uncomfortable and irritable (although pg was really good and dead boring in itself) by that point that it was really better to have the time off. I took the 3 weeks before due date it as holiday and then took Mat leave from my due date (so that I could have as long as poss with DD when born, as that was the days of 6 months stat mat leave!). Don't know if that gives you any ideas??

I had appt with MW and Consultant today and got pretty emotional when talking about why I want to go for elective c-section this time rather than try for VBAC (talking about last time and what a disappointment and horrible time I had). Also got emotional when talking about detailed scans (they don't offer them here) and why I feel really strongly about how imnportant they are etc..... after really making quite a strong case and the MW saying there was nothing she cld do she eventually went to spk to the consultant again who (miraculously!) agreed to get me a detailed scan at 20 weeks (something about them trying to train loads of people up anyway so they could use me for a trainee blah blah blah). Didn't mean to give the mw a hard time but my hormones took over and I think it worked out well in the end. I did apologise for being a pain, but I do really feel strongly about it!

Other than that all is fine, they didn't even listen for HB and next MW appt not until 24 weeks!!! Is that normal? I'll be 16wks Saturday so it seems quite a long time between appts.

Sorry such a long one

Hope eveyone's OK xx

squidgeymiller · 29/04/2009 19:03

oh, yeah the itchy chest thing here too, although mainly UNDER my boobs and at sides, bizarrely!

MeHimCatBlob · 29/04/2009 19:55

evening all, think my DP is running a bit late with the crapness - he doesnt work today and is meant to do his share of the housework but went to the pub, got pissed and is now asleep on the soaf (ok so he did cook me dinner but thats not the point!) Men.....

Cazza - interesting to see your question and responses - am also planning to work as close to the birth as possible but only live about 10mins drive from work. Mainly for financial reasons as I'm the main breadwinner so i will also be going back ASAP afterwards although my friends all say 3-4 months minimum, i really need to be back in about 2! we shall see

anyway, enjoy the day tomorrow and will catch up soon

LittleMissBliss · 29/04/2009 23:20

MeHimCatBlob- Have you researched nurseries as i doubt one would take a 2 month old baby.
Or will your DP be looking after the baby or a family member? I think you'll find it very hard to leave your baby at only 8 weeks old. Especially if you plan to breastfeed.

Can i ask why you feel the need to go back so quickly after the birth, is it the pressure from work or the financial aspect?

Boob We are def not putting in an offer for the house now. It would creep me out too much as i am home allot with ds. I couldn't stay there at night by myself either! So not the best choice for a home!

KleineMaus · 30/04/2009 04:25

Can't sleep tonight as I've hardly felt the baby move all day, and I was getting loads of movement. It's stressing me out. I'm 18 weeks. I wouldn't be worrying if it wasn't for the fact that it's been really active for a few weeks. Wondering what it's up to.

Squidgey, well done for making a fuss about 20 week scan. I used to live in an area where you didn't get one and it's just crap. When I was pregnant with ds my sister had recently had a major problem diagnosed at hers and I felt really strongly about it and managed to persuade them to let me have one and I'm really glad I did as it showed up an irregularity with ds's heart which they were able to treat in utero.

sammysam · 30/04/2009 08:02

Moring,

Great news re scans and consultants appts! I am finding out it really does pay to be a bit pushy (goes against my natural behaviour) and i'll carry on I think!

Feel like poo this morning-have a cold and feel like my head will explode!

Does anyone know how long from being with someone who was infectious with chicken pox it takes for the symptoms to show? Last thursday we saw dds friend who got the spots at the weekend-so when can I know if we are safe?!

Kleine-try not to worry-they are still so little that maybe if baby was having a quieter day moving a little bit you wouldn't feel it. Hopefully it'll be active again today but if you are still worried call your mw x x x

Sure there was something I wanted to say !
