Ruby - where did you get your leggings?

My results are back as low risk

princessmel · 17/04/2009 12:34

Hello

woohoo!! a boy HC !!!! Fab news

I have uploaded a pic of my bump and scan to my profile.....

HumphreysCorner · 17/04/2009 12:48

princessmel-loving your pics especially the cakes Costs me a fortune in B'Day cakes, will now have 3 lots of cakes to buy.

Flame-excellent results.

hackney-have probably mentioned this before but I am married to the Mafia so you do what they say or be damned. I refuse to conform to this so am permanently frowned upon. Unfortunately, since we got the caravan they now have the opportunity to turn up on all our trips and keep walking into the caravan anytime they feel like it. They take the girls when they want and despite my protests I am helpless as DH doesn't say anything. I knew they were quite bad when I first met DH but thought we could escape the control once he left home but no. I feel sorry for DH's sisters husband as they live in the same village as PIL and get uninvited guests all the time so at least I only get it in the caravan.

Must get some lunch as have been gardening and should be resting. Hope my boy is OK.

Laters!

Congrats to everyone with results/scan/finding out sex of baby news

Loving all your news of maternity wear, tis giving me lots of inspiration.

Treats and hackneybird - thanks for your kind words yesterday

ICBINB - glad things are looking better

My belly button has started to pop out a bit, revealing a small raised mole/freckle that I didn't know was there. Confused the hell out of me when I first saw it last night.

I can't remember who mentioned nasal congestion but I also get it really badly atm-have found a good way of killing two birds with one stone tho. One of my pg books recommends filling a bowl with hot water and inhaling the steam. Adding one of Lush's new toner tabs works a treat. Voila-mini facial and unblocked nose.

Gorgeous day here so I'm off to take my 4 and 8yr old nieces to feed the ducks-we did it last week, great fun until 5 ducks started following me all around the lake(and it's a BIG lake), I thought they'd end up back at the car with us!

Have a good day & weekend everyone x

patmum · 17/04/2009 13:15

sammysam I've just invested in a new swim suit as I've finally got off my but and started swimming and try to take ds regularly too and didn't want to stretch my other one. I like the shorts kind and so found zoggs maternity cosi right up my street. I bought it from wiggle. (my first ever "link" I hope it worked!

As for keeping "mum" on the sex of the baby I'm sure that we wouldn't be able to and I think for me it's really precious information that I don't want everyone to know so we probably won't find out. We didn't find out last time because in our very pessimistic view we felt that if we knew then we would be even more attached to the child and if something went wrong it would make it even harder. Daft I'm sure but that was our reasoning!

Great news HC - glad all is well. It will be interesting to have a boy after those girls - new learning curve. Do you think he'll be hen pecked? I know whenever ds is surrounded by females he seems to be bossed about but that might just be his particular personality.

MrsPuddleduck · 17/04/2009 13:33

Hi

Glad all is well - everyone seems to be buying maternity clothes.

Ruby - leggings sound good - Especially as my tops are all long enough to cover my bum! They must be really comfy.

HC - hadn't thought of LaRedout - managed to get a black gypsy style skirt for £15 from Peacocks though and it looks really nice. I will have a look.

Princessmel - great pics and what a bump! Doesn't make me feel so bad not (only I am slightly wider than you )

DevilsAdvocaat · 17/04/2009 14:47

princessmel i wish i had your legs! great bump, how many weeks are you?

hc congrats! as ruby says, boys are fab! i may be a little biased tho!

flame well done on your low test results.

having spent lots of time gardening yesterday, my legs really ache. really feel all the niggles in my body at the mo, feel like an old lady! love gardening though. planted out my veggie patch, although the bloody birds came down and staed eating all the seeds. how do they know? i covered them all with soil. i may have to make a scarecrow

patmum we aren't finding out the sex either, i think we're in the minority here, anyone else?

i have just realised that i haven't booked my 16 week appt yet and i'm 16 weeks next week. i think anyway, am having trouble keeping track this time round. last time i knew the weeks, days and minutes

i didn't realise they space out your appts so much in your subsequent pregnancies, i love the check-ups. seems like a shame. buying a doppler seeming so much more tempting!

dh back to work on monday. boo. i hate the end of the holidays. got the holiday blues.

ps - rubyslippers is your sister gonna come and be our virtual doula?! is she going to be yours in rl? in fact has anyone ever had a doula before?

rubyslippers · 17/04/2009 14:55

flame - leggings from Mamas and Papas and woo hoo for your test results

HB - i thought is may have been wind too but i am thinking it was deffo a baby kicking now

princess mel - lovely bump and scan pictures

HC - at least there is some distance between you and your ILS ...

patmum - we aren't finding out the sex either.

Devilsadvocaat - I wish my sister could be my doula but she is too far away. Am sure she wil do lots of virtual doula'ing for me though

I have thought about getting one and haven't dismissed it totally yet ...

princessmel · 17/04/2009 15:31

Thanks for the lovely comments about my pics The cakes really aren't that fab close up! it's the overall effect....

DevilsAdvocat I am 13 weeks but this is baby no 3 so I may be getting bigger quicker. I didnt show till 20ish weeks with ds. (baby1)

patmum we're not finding out either.

I've been doing some tidying this afternoon as the dc's trshed every room!! I feel really achey now though....

Hattie05 · 17/04/2009 16:28

Hi all,

I'm probably the last person on here coming in to say hurrah! had my 12 week scan, and all is well! I have avoided coming on here for ages as i convinced myslef there would be nothing there .
All is well and i am exactly 12 weeks today with due date 30 October.

HC glad your results are ok! and to those who have had good nuchal scan results, we had big dilemma over whether to have them or not, but did decide to in the end.

shall go and catch up with all the threads i've missed now!

Hattie05 · 17/04/2009 18:04

Kleinemaus this is my third and i'm planning on having it at home, i had my second at home also. I had the same fears you mention, but read a lot on the internet to reassure myself it was the right choice and it definitely was. I too had short labours, and with the second i wouldn't have made it in the car tbh, she was born an hour and a half after i woke up, but i didn't realise she was that close to being born until about 10 minutes before she was, so she probably would have been born in the car if i went for a hospital birth.
The truth of the matter about medical intervention, is that you so often have long waits when you are in hospital anyway. And research shows that upon entering a hospital women's contractions can slow down or stop altogether making the process longer and possibly more complicated. In the comfort of your own home things are a lot easier, and you can't beat a bath in your own bathroom afterwards .

theboob · 17/04/2009 18:30

fantastic news HC and congratulations

the pox is terrible and i have had no sleep for days,he wont eat and the virus is in his eyes, got sick of being in the house and the other dc were climbing the walls , so i have come to the lakes for the weekend to see my mum in her caravan, he ca run free without the stares he seems to be a little better today, must be the fresh air,i will catch up more on monday when i'm home this dongal is terrible x

sammysam · 17/04/2009 18:45

Just about to get dd ready for bed so don't have long.
Just thought i'd update. MW phoned for test results whilst I was there as they weren't back yet-it is definately positive for recent infection-which is what I knew anyway. She still knows nothing about it or what to do so I told her what I know and she rang and has made me an apt. with the consultant on the 11th and moved my scan from the 12th to just before I see him. So won't be any the wiser til then-3wks on monday. She said to ring my GP next week and talk to them as they may know more
All well apart from that-hb was good and strong.....and fast so maybe a little girl!

ICBINB-my dad asked if there was anything I could do to help things-I amright in thinking there is nothing we can do but wait aren't I?

My bellybutton popped a couple of weeks ago and I can now sometimes feel movement externally. Can't wait til this gets stronger so I have more reassurance that baby is ok-especially over the next 3 wks...

Sending you loads of hugs boob-poor ds-at least he is feeling a bit better now...

Congrats on the scans!

I don't think we'll find out-though if the mw keeps commenting on the hb we'll prob have a very good idea

Can't wait to get back to normal next week after the hols-dd is starting to go crazy now

LittleMissBliss · 17/04/2009 18:47

Evening all.
Language: English (change)

I am so behind so forgive as i will only reply to the most recent posts.

Deviladvocaat I am 16 weeks on Monday and was supposed to arrange my own 16 week appointment but time has flown, it only seems like last week i had my 12 week scan. I tried to book it this morning at the Dr's as the midwife holds a clinic on Mondays but then found out that it was at the children's centre. But couldn't get through. So think i might just have to crash the clinic and hope she can squeeze me in!

Princessmel Your dc's are gorgeous. Lovely holiday pics! The cakes are fab too. My step mum gave me a woman's weekly birthday cake book, it's amazing and has templates in the back so you can't go wrong! Will def be making ds a Thomas 2nd Birthday cake!

Hattie congrats on the scan, I think i will def be going for a home birth or birth in the same hospital that i had ds. Our local hospital it a bit grim. I am one of those who's contractions stopped at hospital. So ended up being induced. Not fun.
Second the own bath theory. The hospital bath was caked in disinfectant.

HC love how you can now refer to your bump as your little boy. Makes the whole thing seem so real! IYKWIM

flame Glad to hear your test results came back low risk!

Tried on some old maternity jeans and they just fell off of me. They have weird saddle bags where my thighs are meant to be, not sure what that's all about but not a good look! Will have to invest in some new jeans. Luckily most of my normal jeans still fit me as they are all pretty low wasted. But i think maternity jeans are a right of passage!

The house, well chalet bungalow that i went to see yesterday was teeny tiny. Lovely inside as it was a refurb but far too small for a growing family, shame as it was nice and in walking distance of the local school.

We've had another offer on the house came in at the same price as the last offer. So no good really. On the positive side they had looked at ours and next doors and chosen ours over next door for the private driveway and garage, they also preferred the garden. So if they don't come back with a better offer at least we know that ours is the more favourable property of the two for future referance.

Oh yum curry's here!

Hattie-excellent news from your 12 week scan. It is nervewracking laying on the bed while they have a quick look isn't it?

LilltMissBliss-I made an appointment with the MW for 17 weeks (next Thursday) then I believe that is it until 28 weeks. Am wearing my mat jeans all the time so will be pleased if the skirt I ordered fits so I can wash them.

Have just been and sorted all the clothes and bibs I kept from DD2 for potential DD3 and am putting them in the charity bag. Hope this isn't tempting fate. Have some brand new summer 0-3 outfits in pink and some in cream but as I normally have small babies they won't fit until December so no use sadly. Can't bear to sell them. I am quite lucky in the fact that DD2 likes tractors and diggers so have a few boys things.

Big wave!

Is because i had to write my message in another format to then paste it into mumsnet, once you start writing a post you can't change pages. So it means i can read and reply per post or i get all confused!

(just incase anyone was wondering)

Also my curry was delicious

LittleMissBliss · 17/04/2009 21:27

HC Think i might just hold out untill 17 weeks then. I can try and arrange an appointment on Monday. Plus that means after the M/W i will have only 3 weeks to wait untill my scan!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/04/2009 21:49

Evening everyone, got my test results back today and pleased to say they are low risk too, another sigh of relief on a very long path.

Had a lot of aching pains, which I hope is normal. Think I've been feeling some movements too, kind of like a 'flicking' feeling - but its only been a couple of times so far, certainly not regular yet.

DH and I are having very drawn out (i.e. he doesn't want to talk about it) debates about whether or not to find out the sex this time...we didn't with DS, but DH wants to know this time... I can't make up my mind what I want.

littlepea72 · 18/04/2009 07:22

Hi everyone

Guess what turned up last night....the missing notes! they were in my DS thomas the tank engine box, which had been put away. Im seeing my MW on tuesday, and im betting she askes about them...the shame lol... Dont know how they managed to get there, its not a place you would put them.

Been very sick, but i think its because im all blocked up too, its also causing headaches. Has anyone been getting itchy nipples??

Sammysam how have you been? Glad to hear about all the low risk scans

HC i cant believe just how much our in-laws sound the same. I always thought moving to different countries would help, but they just phone up to tell us they have booked flights out, doesnt matter if you have planned something....you cancel them! You sometimes just need to block them out of your head.

sammysam · 18/04/2009 09:53

Morning!
for all the low risk results!

Feeling quite low still after the results yesterday. Can't believe I have to wait 3wks to see the consultant.
My only plan of action can be to try not to think about it. Feeling less sick generally but still being sick most days so it is an improvement. I just hope it means that baby is healthy in there.

Littlepea-I knew your notes would turn up in a really random place at least it puts your mind at rest now!

Re mw apts I get another at 24wks and then 28wks. It was my mw's last day in the community yesterday so unless I end up in hospital (hopefully not) I won't see her again-which is a big shame as she is lovely.

My mum and sis are coming down today so that should help to take my mind off things today. My lovely bf has sent me some lovely flowers to cheer me up-she is fantastic

I hope everyone has a good day x x x

HumphreysCorner · 18/04/2009 10:05

littlepea-lol at where your notes were. Don't mention it to the MW.

sammysam-sorry you are feeling low and 3 weeks does seem a long time when you are waiting. My MW is being moved to another practice so don't know who I will get next Thursday.

Have a good weekend ladies.

Flamesparrow · 18/04/2009 11:00

I have an insanely deep belly button so it tends not to pop completely even by the end.

Been looking up baby names today. Crossed off the one meaning "fiend"

Completely forgotten what else I was going to say because DD came in to show me a wobbly tooth and killed all train of thought

MeHimCatBlob · 18/04/2009 13:47

Hi all, finally made it back from Japan after an interesting 3 weeks - fell down the stairs on day 5 and spent the rest of the time with my ankle in a soft cast hobbling round - the Japanese were fantastic and were so considerate, getting me wheelchairs, giving up seats on trains and buses etc.

Anyway, Hattie05 you're not the last, I still haven't had a scan (its booked for this Thursday & I'll be 14 weeks) so am a bit nervous as this is my first pg. Also I haven't put any weight on yet which is starting to worry me slightly (although I have a definate bump). DP and I still 'discussing' whether to have triple test and amnio so need to get that resolved before Thursday.

Tomorrow will be spent shopping for clothes as i can no longer get into any of my suits or most of my shirts for work and I'm back in on Monday! Still trying to decide whether to buy maternity or just a larger size than normal...

great to read all the good news and hopefully everyones MS is much improved

Hattie05 · 18/04/2009 18:16

littlemissbliss i did wonder! thanks for clearing that up! and its also given me a good idea cos i too struggle to keep up with what i say!

HC thanks and yes very nervewracking! you sound very organised! i'm envious, we have a loft full of clothes of all shapes and sizes from 2 dd's and i'm dying to sort them, but figure i may as well wait until we know the sex.

Mehimcatblob sorry that you have longer to wait! Don't worry about weight gain - shouldn't happen yet anyway, i put on masses in the first couple of weeks cos i was eating everything in sight for some reason, but i'm losing it again now as i'ver returned to normal eating habits thank god. But it means what i thought was baby bump probably wasn't . I but maternity, as i made the mistake of larger sizes but found they were wasted as i kept rapidly growing. At least maternity ones have room to grow - although don't look so great until bump is bigger admittedly. Why are you considering amnio? (sorry must have missed previous posts)
We had long debate over whether to have the combined test, i felt i didn't want to for the fact that i didn't feel i would do anything about it if it did come back positive but last minute thought what the hell and agreed! pg brain makes difficult to make decisions!

Hi to everyone else, hope all are feeling well and have enjoyed the sunshine today. We've had a pleasant time pottering about in the garden.

HumphreysCorner · 18/04/2009 22:07

DH is doing my head in as he doesn't want to tell the girls yet about the baby and when we do he doesn't want to say it is a boy. We are really coming to blows over his reluctance to tell anyone the sex. I won't be able to resist buying some blue sleepsuits soon so that would be a giveaway. I think the girls should know about the baby so how am I going to convince him?

Hope all OK, am off to bed as I have been gardening all afternoon and am aching.
