Purple, I agree that it's a bit rough if you have the impression you won't be able to contact your mum at all. I'd do as BB suggests and ask them for emergency numbers at hotel, etc. The fact you're asking may remind her that you'll want to be in touch and make her think that she, too, will want to be reachable...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 17:18

Purple - not really unreasonable to want to talk to your mum xx

Carameli - omeprozole is good

BB - yay for hair appointment you got room in your suitcase?? i pack really small and wont take up much room

Oddeyes - yay for the last day feeling !!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 31/03/2009 17:18

carameli - i was hoping she'd give me that pill (forgot to look up the name before i went) i'll try this first and see. then make an appointment with a different doctor if it's still as bad.

thank you BTW. i'm glad that i'm not the only one who would be annoyed at the family thing.

when i had DS (their first grandchild) they (obviously) weren't here. i phoned them IMMEDIATELY from the hosptial (on a mobile to canada...not cheap BTW) and they were so excited. then the next time i talked to my mom she was all huffy with me and acting like i had done something wrong. she's very jealous of my MIL who lives 5 minutes away and got to see DS when he was hours old.
all i wanted was to talk to my mommy after the birth. finally i just told her that i needed her to stop being stupid and be my mother, i think that snapped her out of it. i'm so scared that she's going to be like that again.

i'm sorry everyone. it's all me me me today. i'm just feeling sorry for myself and am all weepy.

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:19

Often US hotels have freebroadband now too...so maybe some Yahoo/MSN messenger could be set up too

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:20

Purple that is completely understandable - I got huffy when my mum said yesterday she wouldn't be rushing down to the hospital once the baby was born (I know she will because that is what she is like she was just being mean!!)

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 17:21

yuuuuummmmmmmyyyy dh tuning his guitar, why does he have to tune and play when i'm not able to jump on his divine sexy giutar playing self oh well will just have to relax and enjoy the sexy tunes

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:21

Oh Purple (hugs) You WILL get to talk with her. Make it known that you'll want and need her, surely she'll help brainstorm a way to be 'near'...you may even be able to call her and let her know before anyone else because of time difference.

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:22

Oh and purple I am very very glad that old libby is back!!!

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:23

Would you like some neighbours spoilers to cheer you up?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 17:23

Purple (((hugs)) every girl needs her mum, specially at a this kind of time xx

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:24

Smutty yum for guitar playing

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:26

Do you know where she's staying yet? I could have look to see about coverage...and my sister works in the cell phone business so she may have an idea about coverage too.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 17:27

DD is in some sort of daddy love trance, just grinning at him while he's playing

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 31/03/2009 17:27

no dammit! i do not want neighbours spoilers!!! (seriously i watched about 10 episodes today... it was sad)

when she told me that they were going to be away i said that she'd just have to wait to find out then. i probably wasn't very nice about it. though we were on facebook so it's hard to get emotion across when you are typing

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:27

mmmm I agree about guitar playing... guitar playing men deserve being jumped... Pity my jumping days are behind me for another month or so...

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:29

Are you sure Purple, they are good....

Ah bless your DD nutty!!

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:32

I want my DD or DS now please.... I want cute little adorable moments... not back pain, period pain, discharge and gas!!

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:34

I was daydreaming abou having my LO in my arms earlier...what it would be like to finally kiss and cuddle the precious child I've been wanting for AGES... sigh... no more than 2.5 weeks

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 17:35

BB - you are well on the way sweety!! not long at all for you now xx

OP posts:
bronze · 31/03/2009 17:35

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:37

How about getting a webcam set up? I was thinking of doing that...

mathsmummy27 · 31/03/2009 17:38

FGS I go out to buy a car and miss the only maths and all i get in return is goose semen

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:38

Right am off for a bath now before DH comes home

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 17:39

We just did that with DH's family so they can see the baby every day until we go back in June.

Bleuravin · 31/03/2009 17:40

Can you believe it this child of mine has switched sides! From left to right...surely that means s/he's not engaged any longer?!
