It's not weird at all, Nutty. It's a really lovely thought. But whenever you have her, it's like that - your children are genetically linked to her already, even without a significant date.

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 20:01

No I think that is lovely Nutty, we got married on the day my nan was buried as it felt like we were sharing something important with her, even though she couldn't be here.

bronze · 31/03/2009 20:01

Springy I had the same darent look thing with dishwasher tablets first two times. I imagined them tasting a bit like refresher sweets but knew really that they wouldn't

SpringySunshine · 31/03/2009 20:01

& BB, stop it! I'm going to have to make DH hide it because my willpower is waning!

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 20:02

And also made something that is normally associated with sad things a happy memory

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 20:02

Springy - just give it a little lick if its that gross you wont wnt it again

It's so weird, isn't it bronze? I never understood how people would know that they were craving something so strange - I could understand how you'd know what food you wanted, but couldn't get my head around knowing that you wanted something that you're never meant to eat / have no experience of. But somehow...

Pregnancy is a very strange thing.

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 20:03

go on, go on!! oooh the lovely chewy sponge hmmmmmm

SpringySunshine · 31/03/2009 20:05

I'm watching one of these Freaky Eaters programmes, & there's a 19 year old who eats 12 yorkshire puddings a day, drinks milk & very, very little else.

I suddenly feel better.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 20:06

Go On Nom Nom Nom spongey goodness

OP posts:
conkertree · 31/03/2009 20:08

why o why will ds not go to sleep - his spots dont appear to be itchy yet - if they were i'd know - that boy will scratch anything given half a chance.

sponges - mmmm. i used to love sucking them when i was wee - but not sure about the one you are thinking of springy. and i've tried them once or twice in recent years and its just not the same as it used to be.

tristaleejac · 31/03/2009 20:08

is it just sponge or does it have things added? chemicals/soap type stuff?
If it's just plain sponge surely it wouldn't do harm to taste it?

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 20:11

Ok so real contractions do they start from top down or bottom up or can it be both?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 20:11

Springy for the sponge

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 20:11

To be fair - with the chemicals it is probably not a good idea but maybe you could smell that while chewing a normal sponge!!

Schulte · 31/03/2009 20:11

FGS people with your reversed BJs - I have MIL sitting next to me on the sofa!

SpringySunshine · 31/03/2009 20:12

It's just sponge, I think. & it's so good. I don't want to chew it (it's squeaky & weird - harder than a normal sponge) but I just like sucking it. I don't want to have to admit it to DH though - I'll have to do secret sponge sucking whenever he turns around

tristaleejac · 31/03/2009 20:12

probably either BB
you'll know, gut feeling will tell you whether they are real or not

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 20:13

BB can be both

Conker - the natural sponge is the best [gein]

OP posts:
SpringySunshine · 31/03/2009 20:13

BB, mine started at the top & went down, but I'm not sure if it can go the other way.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 31/03/2009 20:14

Schulte - LOL oops

OP posts:
tristaleejac · 31/03/2009 20:14

springy have you had your wicked way with that sponge already?

SpringySunshine · 31/03/2009 20:14

I can't smell, otherwise I'd try that I'm just holding a bit in my hand & stroking it. God, I'm so weird today.

SpringySunshine · 31/03/2009 20:14

Yes. I've resisted it for days & I got bullied into it

BabyBolat · 31/03/2009 20:15

LOL Schultes - MN and links are not safe when you have company!!!

I know I am not having regular contractions but I keep getting sporadic shooting pains that feel like they go from the middle of my fanjo to my belly button!

The hospital did say that I would know when it was real as I wouldn't be able to speak with the pain so know there is no urgency at the moment!
