Congratulations on the scans everyone.

Welcome Mrswee we are due on the same day!! and anyone else new.

I just thought I'd mention about the sleeping thing. I try to sleep on my side I have one of those little wedges which helps a bit but usually falls out of bed and I always wake on my back.
At my NCT class when I was pregnant with DD I asked the teacher about this and she said it was more important that I actually get some quality sleep, especially near the end than worry about positioning. HTH

daffodilli · 27/04/2009 21:49

Tigerfeet hope I didn't worry you, just wanted to see if you had heard anything about it x x IBS is meant to improve/disapear in pregnancy so if you've not had many symptoms I would say that yours has improved! Appointment isn't for another 6 weeks almost so they dont seem too bothered about it,and I must admit I hadn't thought about it at all, other than wondering why mine hadn't gone like everyone said it would!

daffodilli · 27/04/2009 21:54

That does help peachygirl! and sounds very sensible too! paranoia was setting in here! (still waiting for my dream genii )
Off now for a lovely night of waking every hour and body deciding that its had enough sleep at 11.30....grrr

peachygirl · 27/04/2009 21:55

daffodilli Hope you don't mind but I didn't spot your original post about your IBS. How is it manifesting? if it's constipation then it could just be part and parcel of your pregnancy I have been suffering terribly with it (but hadn't posted TMI) but in the last few days have been eating museli and it has made a real difference.

(DH had IBD so bowels are a regular, no pun intended, subject of converation in our house)

AprilMeadow · 27/04/2009 22:43

Tigerfeet, i had the names picked out DD2 is Lucy Alexandria

Daffodilli, we are off to Orlando for 3 weeks - 2 weeks at Disney and then a week at a Disney hotel on the coast.

Welcome MrsWee

blue76 · 28/04/2009 07:57

Welcome mrswee

LJ sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Like Ladylush, I had bleeding weeks 5-14. When I got checked out at EPU, they took swabs and said they'd let me know if there was an infection. Consultant told me many women bleed throughout pregnancy, with no explanation as to why. One of the nurses also said that some women bleed around the time they would have had a period...

Going to try and get appt with GP today. Been feeling tired and dizzy since Sat Generally fed up...shouldn't I be feeling great at 19+2????

TigerFeet · 28/04/2009 08:23

Could you be anaemic blue76? Iron supplements seem to be perking a few of us up although I am tired too despite taking them.

Thanks daffodilli but I'm not overly concerned, it's lovely to have a break from the symptoms and that probably means that all is well. Good luck with the consultant, and I'm glad to hear it's not considered urgent.

AprilMeadow my dd1 is Lucy! It was the only name we agreed on, I keep trying to get dh to discuss names for dd2 but he won't be drawn atm.

Off to take dd to school then on to work... have a good day all

mrswee · 28/04/2009 09:04

Hi Minshu, yes my doctor was the same, she kept saying- that's great you must be very excited after all the waiting, I was agreeing but all I could think was actually I'm in total shock!!

daffodilli · 28/04/2009 09:06

peachygirl - I always take 2 teaspoons of lactulose in the mornings anyway to um 'keep things regular' so at the moment thats not a problem, its just the cramps and general bloatedness feeling that I seem to get.

april am very at your lovely long holiday! bet your DD cannot wait .Think me and DHs next hols will be in 2020!! possibly!

I also had names picked out and this lo will be Archie Llewellyn!

Hope all goes ok at the GPs blue x x

blue76 · 28/04/2009 09:21

Thank you x

I do suffer from anaemia and low bp when pg, so will get that checked...I've started taking Pregnacare again - I'd stopped taking it a few weeks ago as I'd convinced myself it was making me feel more sick!

LJ29 · 28/04/2009 12:33

hi ladies, had another scan today and baby was absolutley fine. Think we finally have an explanation for bleeding. The placenta is not abnormally low but is just sitty on the edge of my cervix which is likely to have caused it. It is also at the front of my uterus (anterior) which means it can be difficult to find the heartbeat and also makes it more difficult for me to feel movements. Feel so much better for having an explanation.

Got to go back at 36 wks to check it has moved. Hope all the other scans go well today.

LJ29 · 28/04/2009 12:35

sitting!

LizLemon · 28/04/2009 12:37

welcome mrswee

Hope everyone feels well today.

Glad to hear your news LJ - it must feel like a huge weight off your mind.

mrswee · 28/04/2009 13:05

thanks for all the lovely hellos!

I'm glad to hear that people are suffering from that same bloated, crampy, windy constipation, well not glad for you that you are suffering of course! But it makes me feel a bit more normal!
Does anyone know anything we can take for wind when it gets really bad? I had trapped wind this morning and could hardly get out of bed from cramps, had to take it really slowly! TMI

peachygirl due the same day great! If that born on a fullmoon thread is anything to go by then there's a full moon on the 4th oct so if that is true it might be closer to then! well see when the time comes

audreyraines · 28/04/2009 13:18

LJ, I have to check placenta near end of preg as well. I'm really hoping it moves away from the cervix by then.

Daffodilli, I'm all up to date on 24!

I'm tired too, and a little bit cranky sometimes. I think it's just pregnancy and having a 2 year old that's making me that way!

AprilMeadow · 28/04/2009 13:25

Lovely names Daffodilli Both dc's are looking forward to the holiday. DS was 4 on Friday and cant wait to see Mickey and friends and DD who is just 2 just cheers, although not sure if she realises!

LJ, what a relief to finally have an answer to the bleeding

LizLemon · 28/04/2009 13:49

mrswee you can take windeze safely. I have some in my handbag at all times to rattle around next to the gaviscon. Totally glamourous, me.

Forgot to say I love the name Archie 'daffodilli*. Sadly there actually aren't many scones left Have made something healthier today to make up for it (couscous and butternut squash)

TigerFeet · 28/04/2009 14:19

Didn't you save me a scone LizLemon?

AprilMeadow, I have holiday alongside everyone else!

LJ29, great that you have an explanation, I hope you can rest easier now. I have an anterior placenta too, there is a gap at the front of my stomach where I don't feel any movements, I just get thumped right at the top and right at the bottom of my bump.

My bump looks awful, really lardy and wobbly [eats haribo], I am jealous of everyone with lovely neat bumps

audreyraines · 28/04/2009 14:41

archie is a very sweet name

detoxdiva · 28/04/2009 16:43

Hi everyone - just an update to say that had the scan earlier and we're having a boy . I have just known this all the way through but we still got all emotional when they told us

All is ok at present, except have a low lying placenta so will be re-scanned at 32 weeks to check it's moved, otherwise it's a section for me as it's currently over the birth canal, which will put my home birth plans out of the window Really hope to avoid a section, but clearly if the exit is blocked then it'll be the only way out

Minshu - how was your scan?

JRocks · 28/04/2009 18:35

Hello everyone - good to hear all the news, lots of scans done I see! Mine isn't until 12th May which seems like forever but will probably fly by

ladylush · 28/04/2009 18:36

Had an awful night's sleep so apologies if I miss anyone - concentration very poor today.

LJ - glad baby is well. Must be so reassuring to know what's causing the bleeding. So is it rubbing against the cervix causing erosion? Anyway, at least you can relax a bit now. Drs obviously aren't worried if they don't need to see you again til 36 weeks.

mrswee - I took windeze in my last pregnancy. I also avoid pregnacare when I get particularly full of trapped wind or constipated as I find it makes it worse.

detoxdiva - congrats A boy - how lovely

Very reassuring to get so many of you saying you've had aches down below - not that I'm glad you're having pain.....but ykwim

ladylush · 28/04/2009 18:39

blue - sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope GP can help.

Audrey - I had low lying placenta with ds but it moved out of the way by 32 weeks. Hope yours does too.

April - hope you have a lovely holiday

nitnat84 · 28/04/2009 19:26

Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone is doing ok. Not looked on here for a while.
Had my scan yesterday All looks gd. We decided to not find out the sex so 20 weeks to go until we find out!!
Was told my placenta is as high as it can possibly go. Is that a good or bad thing, does anyone know? Baby was kicking away and then gave a massive yawn and then decided to suck its thumb and fall asleep. Bless!
Hope everyones scans are going well

blue76 · 28/04/2009 20:29

GP informed me I have low bp.

She also said I should have been taking iron supplements from 16 weeks...oops!!

I get kicked in the bladder and bowel area - usually after I've eaten!
