I expressed for him as he wouldn't latch but did have supply problems. I wasn't sure if that was thyroid related or because I was expressing rather than feeding iyswim.

I am not feeling too bad atm though!

Just wondering what on earth to do with my 3 yr old, he is driving me up the wall. He tried to gas us all (playing with the gas fire) twice in the Easter break, and has now tried to electrocute himself cutting charging cables and the cables to the house phone!

ladylush · 25/04/2009 11:36

Poor you mummyhill He sounds very spirited Hopefully it is just a phase he's going through - albeit a dangerous one. Maybe try buying him a kids tool set? Mind you, they always prefer the real thing don't they.

mummyhill · 25/04/2009 11:39

He follows his dad. Will be clearing out dismantled radios and the like from under his bed by the time he is in Juniors!

ladylush · 25/04/2009 11:53

Or before

daffodilli · 26/04/2009 11:05

Morning all!

Think I've got a future London Marathon runner! Bubs has been wriggling like crazy this morning, even DH could feel it which was lovely!

Not much happening here, just about to go to mums for sunday dinner, free food!

Hope everyones having a nice relaxing weekend x x

TrixieVix · 26/04/2009 11:10

Your messages have made me laugh...so pleased it's not just me that can't park when pregnant! I went to Asda last week and was happily reversing listening to the parking sensors, and then....THUD! Completely forgotten to look around me as I was reversing and had driven straight into a bollard that was clearly visable. Whoops - my only excuse it that I'm now driving a 5 series, and when I was pregnant with DS I was driving a Lupo. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it

Went to see Pink in concert last night and baby was kicking away throghout. Think it's going to be another music lover like DS...Muffinmum - your post made me laugh about the Killers tickets...was only good luck that I checked the tickets this week, otherwise we'd have missed this - in my head we were going in June!

Pleased everyone's scans have gone well. Mine in on Thursday and think we've decided not to find out the sex. We found out with DS and was pleased we did, but have decided that this baby will be the last, so we don't want to find out, so we've experienced both. Well, that's what we're thinking today - come Thursday and if the sonographer asks, we might cave!!

Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine - seems to make everything more positive. Work is going well, and I feel well, so all's good with the world! DS is potty training too (started on Good Friday, and been dry for the past 8 days!!) so feel like things are really on the up.

Hmm - don't think I've got much more interesting news...have bought a gorgeous black maternity maxi dress from DP which was only £35 (actually £28 with their 20% off) and think it's going to be one of those items that I'll spend the summer living in! It's so comfy and makes me feel all floaty...bring on the sun!

Oh, and itchy nipples - good god, tell me about it! But only the left one?! Bizarely that was my strongest feeding side with DS - wonder if that's got anything to do with it? Am off to try the Vaseline...

ladylush · 26/04/2009 17:55

lol trixie at listening to the parking sensors but still hitting the bollard
I drive a 5 series too.

daffodilli · 26/04/2009 20:31

Have found the lead from camera so have put bump pics on profile if anyone wants a nose!!

Excuse the pjs, early night in the daffodilli household !!

bigbang · 26/04/2009 22:38

Hey everyone, I hope a good weekend was had by all.

Ds went to Granny's house and had a wonderful time, and we have a lovely quiet weekend! Its was the first time we have left him for more than one night, and I burst into tears at the station waving them off but it all went smoothly. Had a lovely cycle around Richmond park today, it was heaving in the car parks but worth it. I have a sore a*se now though from the saddle!

We took the opportunity to have a good sort out yesterday which resulted in a couple of bin bags of worn out clothes/toys and what not being thrown away. DP discovered some of the contents strewn around the street this evening, happens sometimes here- people looking for stuff to sell on I'm feeling very over emotional about it, anything worth using is being recycled/freecycled/charity shopped so it really was holey socks and worn out bras etc, but I just feel a bit violated tbh! I hate the idea of someone looking through my rubbish. Also feel uttery shit that some poor soul feels they have to look through bins to try and get something worth selling or to use themselves. What a horrible situation to be in.

Lovely bump pic daffodilli. Dp has decided this evening that he wants to do a time lapse photo thing (planned on doing this with ds but never got round to it!) and took the first pictures tonight. I will put them up tomorrow!

ladylush · 27/04/2009 00:15

bigbang we did a bump gallery thing when expecting ds but made the mistake of taking pics whilst I was lying down. Of course, everything is much flatter and it was quite hard to see any difference. Sorry to hear someone was rifling through your stuff. It would make me feel uncomfortable too - plus emotions are haywire when you're pregnant, which doesn't help. Glad you had a nice weekend despite that

audreyraines · 27/04/2009 07:26

ah your bump is so sweet daffodilli. mine is definitely not small anymore - seemed to happen overnight.
saw you're a fan of 24, are you watching this series? mad jack fans hang out here

AprilMeadow · 27/04/2009 07:28

Morning All

20 weeks today YAY. Have scan at 11.30 so starting to get very excited.

Daffodilli, what a lovely small bump, mine is HUGE and people are shocked when i say i am only half way!

Had a busy, busy weekend and am paying for it now. I ache and didnt sleep too well as a result. Hoping to take it easy this week before we head off on holiday on Friday.

Hope you all had a fab weekend

LizLemon · 27/04/2009 10:30

Morning!

Nice bump daffodilli

Sorry that someone went through your rubbish Bigbang. Depressing really, like you say, that someone has to do that.

Fingers crossed for scans today and the rest of the week.

Feeling tired today. I've been having real trouble sleeping (as in staying asleep) and my appetite isn't helping by being non-existent, but I know I need to eat. I'm being really put off by the texture of food I usually eat happily too, salad leaves and tomatoes for example. Anyone else got this? Strangely it doesn't affect cake...

Oh and I've noticed that I am becoming much worse at typing - this has taken me ages

LJ29 · 27/04/2009 11:03

Hi ladies, I had some more spotting on Friday night so treckedup to the hospital again! Took the midwife an age to find his heartbeat but it was definitely there even if a very well tucked away. The did an exam and said they couldn't see any bleeding but took a swab anyway just to test for infection. Also had some protein and white cells in my urine so thats also been sent off. This constant up and down of anxiety and relief is really getting me down now. My anxiety isn't great anhyway after having PND last time and all this is not helping. In a way I hope they do find that i have an infection at least then I will know whats causing it and get some treatment. I've got another scan tomorrow so hopefully that will reassure me some more but don't have another midwife app until 28 weeks. thinking I might make an appointmnet at 24 and make up a random reason for going to get checked.

Also starting to fret a bit about movements. I have felt him move/kick but it tends to be at night and mostly if I lie on my side or front. I can't remember how long it took last time for the movements to become stronger and more regular.

Really sorry for the me me me post but feeling very sorry for my self!

Good luck to all those with scans this week I know there are a few and looking forward to finding out the sex.

LJ29 · 27/04/2009 11:05

Sorry for the rubbish spelling!!! I think the inability to type is definitely part and parcel of being pregnant!

TrixieVix · 27/04/2009 12:36

Don't panic LJ - I'm 20 weeks today, and although I've felt movements from about 17 weeks, I'm only just now beginning to feel proper kicks. And I can go 2 days or so without feeling anything...am guessing it just depends on which way bubs is facing and what he/she is up to.

Sorry to hear about the spotting too - my SIL had this all the way through her last pg (no. 4) and hadn't had anything other than super-normal/straight forward ones before that, so I think it was a bit of a shock for her. All was well with the baby and they never did find any cause of the bleeding. He was a healthy 8lbs, born at 39 weeks by planned c-section (he was breech) and apart from having the longest cord the midwife had ever seen, everything was totally normal with him

Nothing new to report...had my first jump-out-of-bed-in-agony leg cramp last night! Had it loads with DS and from a lot earlier too, so am pleased I've got this far. Also had my first nosebleed AND heartburn this weekend too. Am wondering if I've got a fresh surge of hormones just lately or something?! Seems strange to have had them all at once.

So looking forward to my scan on Thursday - got my fingers crossed that everything's ok. Don't think I mentioned, but got my letter last week saying I was low risk for Downs Syndrome and Spina Bifida. (Have I got that right, or have I got baby-brain again?)

Speaking of baby-brain, yesterday I COULD NOT get my DH's name right. We've been together for 7 years, and yesterday despite his name being Kieron, I kept on calling him Matt?!!! I'm sure he thinks I'm up to something dodgy...

We've got a wedding to go to this weekend which I'm really looking forward to. DH is best man too, which makes it extra-special. Still debating about what to wear though! Nothing like leaving it to the last minute eh?!!

TigerFeet · 27/04/2009 12:40

Oh LJ29 how worrying for you . I hope you get some answers. I would make an extra appointment like you say. My midwife has been lovely, I'm not supposed to be seen between 20 and 28 weeks but she has told me to go and see her anyway because of my ongoing sickness and for reassurance.

I have another scan on Thursday . It's my standard anomaly scan - the one I had a couple of weeks ago was at a different hospital so the ANC at my usual hospital couldn't be sure if they just checked for Down's markers or for other anomalies as well, so they told me to keep my appointment despite only just having had a scan.

The weather is crap here today. I had got used to the sunshine! DD is back at school now so I am at work so I suppose it doesn't really matter what the weather's doing!

Snowfalls108 · 27/04/2009 12:43

Hi all,

Sorry to hear you're having such a worrying time LJ29.

Haven't been on since scan, and have lots of baby related news!

Scan on Thursday was amazing - 40 minutes worth. They really looked at everything. I was sent to the loo as my bladder was too full and the baby was facing the wrong way, but he/she soon moved and we got a great view. Really amazing how much detail you can see - the different chambers of the heart, little tiny toes, etc etc. They'd run out of thermal paper so I've got big A4 size pictures. We didn't find out if it was a boy or girl, and the sonographer avoided the area.

My dream geni arrived and is helping with the side sleeping. I really am most comfortable on my back, but I'm sure this will change and the dream genii helps support you and bump.

I had a midwife appointment this morning, and all well. Good strong heartbeat, and everything seems to be progressing well - both me and baby. My pubic to bump measurement thingy has gone up to 23cm. Pretty big. My bump is looking quite impressive now - I was given a seat on the tube on all the journeys I went on over the weekend.

I am being completely dappy at the moment, and have no memory of conversations that DH swears we've had. All a bit worrying!

We're doing very well on hand-me-downs at the moment. We've so far got a cot, travel cot, changing mat, and baby bath.

Wow - this is a long message.
Hope everyone is well - and not too depressed by the weather!

LizLemon · 27/04/2009 14:33

Sorry you're having more spotting LJ29 - it hasn't been the easiest journey for you to this point so no wonder you feel sorry for yourself. Hopefully they'll find something easily treatable.

I'm also having movement anxiety, but then this is my first baby and at 19+3 it might still be too early. I've had flutters but I'd like a hefty kick, just to know everything is ok, especially since my scan is still 3 weeks away. DH had a word with him/her last night about it but seems to be ignoring dad already

Glad you had a good scan Snowfalls.

sadly I am depressed by the weather and have had to make a batch of cheese scones to cope.

AprilMeadow · 27/04/2009 14:35

Sorry to hear you had more spotting LJ.

Scan went well this morning and we are having a DD2 All is well and have some lovely pictures.

Snowfalls108 · 27/04/2009 14:44

Congrats April.

Is anyone else starving hungry the whole time? I swear I could eat a horse. So far I've had a bacon sandwhich, a banana, and a huge bowl of pasta and vegies, and nothing seems to be hitting the spot! Those cheese scones sound good LizLemon.

SabsBigPants · 27/04/2009 14:50

me, im constantly hungry and it doesnt help that im working from home today...keep on wandering to the kitchen every time i get bored...

audreyraines · 27/04/2009 15:10

yep, just grabbed for the green&blacks, uh oh!

ladylush · 27/04/2009 16:07

Congrats April
LJ - sorry to hear you've had more spotting I had bleeding from week 7-14 and I was beginning to think I'd have it throughout the pregnancy, so can understand how down you feel. A colleague at work said his wife had bleeding throughout the pregnancy and they never found a cause. It had been very stressful and worrying for her because she'd had several m/c before. Baby was fine though. Re. movements, I was about 22 weeks before I felt movements with ds and although I've had them quite early this time, the m/w I saw today said it's still common even for 2nd timers to not feel anything for another couple of weeks.

M/w appt. went well today. Baby was very active so it took her a while to get the hb, but when she did she said it was perfect I've been a bit worried about an (intermittent) achy/heavy feeling in my pubic area but she said it's quite common and is caused by swelling in that area. I thought it might be SPD (which I had before) but manifesting itself differently.
