Liz - I'll have to look out for those del monte ice lollies - they sound delicious

LJ29 · 14/04/2009 12:11

Hi ladies, I had some more spotting last night so went for another scan this morning. couldn't find any reason for it and baby absolutely fine. Still got my 20 wk scan in 2 weeks but bonus today was finding out the sex........................!

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2009 12:19

that's a relief LJ - glad it was nothing
Are you going to tell us?

OP posts:
LizLemon · 14/04/2009 12:29

ooooh! do tell

blue76 · 14/04/2009 12:41

I've taken 5 gender predictor tests today and they all said boy . Will be very interesting when we find out properly at next scan! The only thing I can't stand the taste or smell of is fish...had mad cravings for salty foods and coffee whch is weird because with both dd's I went right off coffee. Oh I don't know and I really don't have a preference. The little lite's going to be spoilt rotten anyway, having dd's of 12 and 10 as well as Mummy and Daddy!

Got a spot on my cheek under my eye and it's swelled up!!

ladylush · 14/04/2009 12:48

Could it be a bite blue?

LJ so glad all is ok with baby. Tell us the sex then

TigOeufFeet · 14/04/2009 13:13

Oh LJ how exciting, glad all is well, come on now SHARE

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2009 13:15

sounds like you're having a boy blue

I went off coffee both times, but went off alcohol for ages last time but have felt OK about it this time from about 14 weeks, when I stopped feeling sick. I wonder why the same woman can have two very different pregnancies - it seems quite common though!

ITS A BOY! Over the moon, won't need to swap bedrooms round and redecorate for one! DD is a bit upset but she's coming round and she is only 3.

mumtobe23 · 14/04/2009 15:22

Congrats on the boy LJ29! Still got two weeks and 1 day till my scan, can't come quick enough!

marymungoandmidge · 14/04/2009 15:39

Hiya - due 23 September.....with no 3!!!!!!!!!! Is anyone else feeling nauseous/faint first thing still (I'm 17 weeks)and do you also have humungous baby bump already. Actually this happened last time and then sort of slowed down to being acceptable(imo)by about 7 months ...

ladylush · 14/04/2009 16:56

Congrats LJ I'm sure dd will love her db once he's here

pooka · 14/04/2009 17:10

Been off for a while -on holidays. Now back and have dreadful heartburn. Eating like a horse, but then suffering the consequences.

Measured round bump and am at 9 sheets now. But would be more in the evening probably.

20 week scan on Monday - will be 20 weeks on Friday. Feel like it's finally starting to move along. DH will come, but for a while was going to go on my own. Which I wouldn't have minded actually, as had mad moment where decided I would find out the sex and just not tell anyone! But then decided that couldn't pull that one off and didn't find out with dd and ds and think the surprise will be wonderful when it happens.

Started ante-natal yoga which is great. But missed last week. Can't go tonight either which is a shame, because it really seems to help with sleeping, and I could do with some help at the moment.

Lots of movements from inside - getting nearly to the point where will be able to feel the kicks from outside too, which will be exciting for dd. ds not particularly interested, but kept asking me to open my mouth so he could see the baby in my tummy. Was rather disappointed that he couldn't!

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2009 18:21

LJ congratulations

Hi everyone, newbie here! I've only just found these forums, it's been great reading all the posts. Am 20 weeks tomorrow, due on Sept 2nd (first baby, what a rollercoaster so far! just finished with the morning sickness, now the hip pain at ngiht is starting). Got my scan on Friday, can't wait!

Ok, I'm going to let you guys talk again and maybe chip in later.

L x

pooka · 14/04/2009 20:07

HI TheNatty! Aren't we lucky to get such fantastic papers free through our doors Useful for lighting fires though...

blue76 · 14/04/2009 20:21

Welcome newbies!

I'm pretty sure it's a huge spot on my face...gonna try and get a docs appt tomorrow cos it's getting bigger and bigger

LittleCheese · 14/04/2009 20:26

hi ladies, welcome newbies. Is anyone suffering with sciatica or cramp in their legs in the middle of the night?

TheNatty · 14/04/2009 20:29

lol, well ive found a few places to live out that paper so its not ALL bad!

if you feel like chatting away from prying eyes

natalie . odwyer @hotmail.co.uk (without spaces obviously)

im 27 weeks now, so not much in front of you, where are you having ur baby if HB not successful? PRUH? i had my son there, wasnt terribly impressed with the after care

LittleCheese · 14/04/2009 20:30

congratulations on the boy lj, all these people finding out is really tempting me to find out, i cant wait till a week on thursday, then it will be too late to find out

LilyPeach · 14/04/2009 20:47

I get really bad hip and leg pain from lying on my side at night, so much that it wakes me up. Not sure what can be done - i've been recommended milk and banana before bed time. i've got one of those long pillows, which has really put o/h out as he says it's like i've brought someone else to bed! anyone got any ideas?

pooka · 14/04/2009 21:05

Thenatty - my email down at the moment afraid.

Had dd and ds at the PRUH (though he should have been born at home - no midwives [grr]). Agree re: aftercare. Only stayed a night with dd and that was enough. With ds, went home after about 2 hours. Still hoping for the homebirth this time. Everyone seems keen, particularly as had quick labour with ds. But you never know how things'll pan out. Will you go to the PRUH or elsewhere?

TheNatty · 14/04/2009 21:21

im booked in at kings as i had DD there. slighty better care, tho not great.
i self discharged at PRUH after emergancy c-section, i only stayed one night too.
want a HB this time, wasnt allowed one last time, but kings being a pain about sending amidwife out to me, cos im "too far away"
will have to wait and see i suppose.

lewisham is my nearest but i havent heard good things

Minshu · 14/04/2009 22:48

Ladylush - having read your experiences, I'm even more convinced it's a boy. Two weeks to wait (now, doesn't that ring a few bells? - glad that's over).

Congrats on your news LJ - hope the naughty spotting stops.

So jealous of all the movement reported!!! Not so impatient for the discomfort while trying to sleep, though...
