hi all, new poster here! Due mid-september, already have 5 year old.
To join in with the last couple of pages:
got Jeep buggy from US - it's got the steering wheel and cup holders, but I didn't go for the deluxe version with lights...LOL! I liked it because the baby could lay flat; it's a 3 wheeler, had tyres you could pump up and a moving front wheel - it can be fixed, but it makes it difficult to move that way. I researched so much, and knew I wanted all those things, and that's what I came up with, I didn't start with the brand! Embarrassingly I now have a Jeep to drive, I've just realised that, ah...

I too have a bump that grows throughout the day, glad it's not just me!

erm, forgotten the rest of the things I wanted to join in with!Pregnancy brain is so true!

StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2009 16:40

hi everyone
welcome hulihoops
have been without comnputer all weekend so will try to catch up later! Have had a lovely easter though, hope you all have. Lol at all the gender predictions, off to do the chinese one now.
Can someone due around the same time as me (12th) tell me if i'm 18 or 19 weeks pg (+2)?
Sorry to do this again, I'm fairly sure it's 18+2 but have just got my bounty "week 20" newsletter which has completely confused me!

OP posts:
daffodilli · 13/04/2009 17:13

Stealth - I've been given a few dates so far, so now I just say that if I'm due on Sun 13th, I count back the weeks from there and using Sundays as my guide would say I was 18 weeks yesterday, so you would be 18+2 today! (I think!)

daffodilli · 13/04/2009 17:15

Sorry hulihoops, forgot to say hello!! Love your name - I could do with a pack of salt and vinegar hula hoops now!

TigOeufFeet · 13/04/2009 18:27

Stealth, I'm due on 12th as well, we are 18+2 today

Hi Hulihoops! I'm with daffodilli, I lurve hula hoops, yum.

I have a knackered sacro iliac (I think) joint, where the pelvis attaches to the spine, so I have been given a crutch. I had great fun today threatening to use it to poke people's ankles who got in my way

peachygirl · 13/04/2009 18:45

Glad you are all enjoying the predictors. Lovely day here lots of sunshine. I did quite a lot of gardening - well chopping two plants down that have taken over a raised bed. DD enjoyed the snails we pulled off them.

LittleCheese · 13/04/2009 20:37

well my ebay gender predictor came back as 60% chance of having a girl and both of the links further up the thread predict a girl too, I still dont have any gut feeling though

daffodilli · 13/04/2009 20:50

TigOeuFeet - poor you that sounds nasty - those sticky heat pads are fab for that! I pulled my lower back badly once and they were brilliant . The crutch will be good if you are in a busy area, you can sweep a path in front of you!

Will HAVE to get hula hoops tomorrow!

StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2009 20:50

Thanks for clarifying everyone, I thought so! Stupid bounty.
I have two votes for girl and one for boy so far! Is anyone having their scan this week? Mine's a week on Wednesday

OP posts:
daffodilli · 13/04/2009 21:03

I've been given 2 boy predictions and 1 girl prediction! My scan is a week friday

Work tomorrow to drop off my 'return to work' paper, I'm dreading going back a little bit as I've still got what DH very kindly calls my 'little spitty problem',, i.e I cant speak without having to spit into a tissue every few seconds, and as I work on reception all I do is talk! Apparently in the 25 years my MW has worked, she has only ever seen one 'of me' as she put it, with this problem! Oh well - its good to be different I guess! Anyone else with this to keep me company?

LittleCheese · 13/04/2009 21:04

stealth mine is a week on wednesday too, are you excited? are you finding out the sex?

StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2009 21:19

trying not to get excited because when I do I get too impatient But yes, and yes, definitely going to find out the sex if we can. Just can't wait to see the baby again and check everything is OK.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2009 21:19

how about you? (sorry if you've already answered that!)

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2009 21:20

Afraid I can't say I do daffodilli - I assume this is pg related? I just tend to spit when talking at embarrassing times anyway

OP posts:
TigOeufFeet · 13/04/2009 21:31

I drool a lot atm, especially when I feel sick. Far more than usual. I haven't bothered too much about it and it's not as bad as yours daffodilli, but it's definitely there.

Still being sick, still on antiemetics

I am NEVER EVER EVER doing this again, not EVER.

I have a scan on Weds, to look for Down's markers after I came back high risk with the blood test (gulp) but I am looking forward to seeing the baby again . I'm hoping to find out the sex but not sure if I'll be able to, the scan isn't at my usual maternity dept and I'm not sure what their policy is.

LittleCheese · 13/04/2009 21:32

im so so excited but also very impatient and im sure in a couple of days ill also start getting nervous, i always do before appointments and also did with dd, im not going to find out the sex though fingers crossed if i dont know it will curb my spending.

daffodilli · 13/04/2009 21:41

Stealth - yep its pg related, started around 11 weeks and still going strong, apparently it was to do with the HG and all the nausea etc, but am feeling better in that department, so not quite sure. Dont really want the patients thinking 'what has she got and is it catching'!! When me and DH went to get carpet, bloody woman looking at carpets with her husband stared at me and my tissues the whole time they were there, so so .

We cant wait to see bubs again either, did not get pic last time so going to get as many as I can this time!

hulihoops · 13/04/2009 22:00

hi all, thanks for welcomes! I'm not on any other boards/forums like this, so had to think of a name (I'm just me anywhere else!) and my son had just had his first packet of what he calls hulihoops! They don't have that MSG in now and are lower fat than before, I think, so they're almost good for you....
salt and vinegar I definitely wanted up until a couple of weeks ago (I'm 18 weeks now) does that mean anything re: gender?!

I don't have a scan booked yet, but will look forward to all yours in the next couple of weeks! I'm old enough for the Down's blood test to be at risk, I think, so I may get an earlier scan I guess. (the blood tests were only done last monday though).
TigOuefFeet, I know someone who was sick and hospitalised a few times in her first pregnancy, and then did it again! Use the highest strength meds you can get, don't let the GP fob you off! (sorry if you already know this, I appreciate that I may have just annoyed you )

TigOeufFeet · 13/04/2009 22:27

DOn't worry hulihoops, I'm not at all annoyed, I'll take all the advice I can get. I'm lucky really, I had HG really badly at first but the meds control it to a large extent and I haven't been hospitalised. I am leading a reasonably normal life despite my complaining, I'm just very good at moaning

I need to get rid of my easter name... I'll try and get round to it one of these days.

ladylush · 13/04/2009 23:06

Tiger - not long to go now til Wednesday. Wishing you lots of luck. Will be lovely to see the baby again Sorry to hear about your back/pelvis complaint I had SPD in my pg with ds and it was very painful and restrictive - hoping I don't get it again.

Hulihoops - welcome

Daffodilli - I went to a work conference in Swansea (at Swansea University). I thought it was lovely Today is the first day of sunshine we've had in London since midweek last week, so lucky you

Lots of movements here and they feel much stronger now. My bump is getting quite hard.
Dh and ds want a girl - I'll be happy with either. Now having cravings for ice lollies Ds wanted us to buy some cornettos when we went shopping, but I persuaded him to go for ice lollies instead

Trixie - yuk at the mouldy bread. I had a similar experience early on in the pregnancy. Dh cooked some food and put it in acontainer for me to take to work. I had eaten half of it when I realised that the broccoli was infested with bugs I don't know how I didn't vomit but for once I actually wanted to

blue76 · 14/04/2009 08:37

Welcome hullihoops

Oooh Ladylush I had cravings for ice lollies with both dd's and my mum had cravings for them with me! Do you know if you're having a girl?

I'm 17+2 today and still not sure whether I'm feeling any movement. I'm hoping the 10 year age gap has caused me to forget/stomach muscles been given time to repair themselves a little...I do feel something after eating

Ahh I've gotta wait another 4 weeks for 20 week scan (I will be over 21 weeks). I had 4 scans from weeks 6-14 so I'm really missing seeing him/her.

Haven't had any strange cravings this time round...food in general for me I think. I didn't have any ms - eating seemed to keep it at bay! Daren't get on the scales - preferring to go by how my clothes feel!

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2009 09:07

LC I can't believe you're not going to find out! Some people have much more willpower than me
DH's cousin's wife is due on the same day as me, and she was saying she wanted to know, but her DH doesn't so she's going to ask if they can write it down for her! He said it's like opening your Christmas presents on Christmas eve!

LizLemon · 14/04/2009 09:08

Welcome hulihoops

I had a craving for ice lollies early on - del monte do ones made out of pure fruit juice that taste amazing.

Envious of scans coming up but excited to find out what you're all having too - I have to wait another five weeks for mine, when I'll be 22+5. I think that's ages to wait but I'm impatient.

BabyLady · 14/04/2009 10:05

Hi all, been away from 'puter since Wednesday night as signed my deal in the wee hours of Thursday morning (hooray!) so I have been vegeing at home. My home computer doesn't like this site for some reason and just locks up - so work time it is .

Welcome to all the newbies.

Lots of posts to catch up on. Bit late, but have to get in my fave baby names - lots for boys - Toby, Jack, Max and Oscar and girls - Abbey and Ava.

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow, a bit nervous but also tres excited to see bubs again. We are not finding out sex so I have been told by others that we may be asked to "look away" at certain times.

I too am enormous in the evening. I did find it a little alarming at first as when I woke up in the morning, I was like "where did my baby go". But now my stomach has settled into "pregnancy look" mode the change doesn't seem quite as extreme from morning to night.

Going to see Lord of the Rings movie at Royal Albert Hall plus live orchestra and choir for the soundtrack tonight. Looking forward to getting out of work when still light!

Have a nice day all.

P.S - very jealous of the nice weather some of you have mentioned over Easter. London was rubbish except for yesterday afternoon/evening - boo.

ladylush · 14/04/2009 10:32

Ooh blue that's interesting. I won't tell dh though as he'll get his hopes up even more. He says he has a hunch it's a girl. With ds I craved fresh pineapple and cherries (and less healthily, macdonalds fries). I went off chocolate. This time I am craving ice lollies but want less fruit than usual. Can also easily eat loads of chocolate - though having to be reasonably sensible. I'm not exactly watching my weight but given that I didn't lose it all after having ds, I know it's going to be hard work afterwards. A lot of people have said they found it harder to lose weight after having a boy than they did with a girl. Don't know how scientific that is though. My mood seems mroe erratic than it did in my pg with ds and I am defo more emotional. Cry at the silliest things (mostly on tv).
