not come across that laura...someone else may be able to help. you might want to try posting on the pregnancy thread?

MrsMcJnr · 04/05/2009 22:14

How odd I did post earlier in response to some of your posts but it doesn?t seem to be here

June _ I remember doing a similar exercise at NCT class, how my life has changed but I wouldn?t change a thing it sounds condescending and I don?t mean it to but life has more value now my DS is in it all I did before seems so worthless now although I was having a ball at the time and I am sure life experience makes you a better parent

Naat ? hope you slept better last night

Littlesarah ? all sounds very stressful at Uni poor you

Silkcushion ? LOL at the Tena Lady

Effielou ? hope your DD?s sleeping habits rub off on your DS! Hope your pram arrives tomorrow. Thanks for your help on the BFing whilst entertaining a toddler pack. My DS is being VERY naughty at the moment, will not heed or understand ?no? and I am getting very worried about it. I don?t like saying ?no? all day but I feel like that is all I do

Ermintrude ? busy lady keep well.

Doris ? glad to hear thinks are better with DD sorry about the swelling and the dreams. I have had dreams like that, they are very upsetting aren?t they Thanks for your thoughts on the BF/toddler dilemma!

Laura ? I sometimes get pains like that too, I just think they are hormonal changes.

Daisy ? how are you hon?

bigcar · 05/05/2009 04:06

morning all

silk, lol, what a thoughtful present from your mum

MrsMcJnr, sounds like you could be heading for the terrible twos a little early! I know it's no consolation but he's probably just trying to work out his boundaries and limits and asserting his own personality.

littlesarah, fingers crossed for uni today and that your midwife sorts herself out!

Doris, good to hear your dd2 is better, sounds like you had a good weekend.

ermin, happy birthday to your dd! Hope you get some time to put your feet up, at least it won't take long to pack your hospital bag

naat and tee, we don't have any names yet either, s/he might just have to be baby for a short time Dd3 didn't have a name for the first couple of hours.

daisy, I think I'm about with you on the organising front, except my pile of stuff is in my bedroom, we still haven't managed to get dd3 in with dd2 yet. We REALLY need to get moving on that one, dd2 spent most of yesterday with dh trying to rediscover the floor in her room

I had a lovely visit from my friend on saturday, it was sooo nice to see her and have a really good catch up. She bought cake too, I just had to have a small bit, it would have been rude not to at least my sugar levels were ok afterwards!

Here's hoping the sun comes back today, yesterday wasn't quite so nice waves to all!

insywinsyspider · 05/05/2009 07:36

Hello all, not a hance of cathing up so I hope you all had lovely weekends

mrsmcj I had same dilema when bfeeding ds2! It was a bit of a military operation - snack and drink for ds1 and me, potty near by, mastering the art of having ds2 latched on and me being able to get up and feth things/get ds1 down off what ever he had climbed on. The main thing that worked for me was cbeebies I'm afraid, ds1 was 19 months and had (still has) the attention span of a knat.. all the toys you have mentioned sound great, especially aquadraw. People suggested the bag thing to me to but we had limited success, worth trying them all to see what works for your ds

laura no real advice about boobs I'm afraid but your milk may well being produced now, I've been leaking for ages, friend of mine got bloked duct before her first baby was even born so if its painful, you find a lump or get mastisis type symptoms would be worth talking to mw I think esp if worrying you

I'm back to worrying about lack of movements, does anyone still feel good strong kicks? I get little shudders and only if I drink coffee and squish my bump, getting max 10 movements like this so now just need to know if that counts as 10 movements or if 10 reduced movements are cause for concern?? I'm in dilema as with 2 ds's I can't just drop everything to go and get checked out, I know thats lame as baby obviously most important but don't want to waste anyones time... any advice?

insywinsyspider · 05/05/2009 07:38

grrr my work keyboard has a sticky c key so sorry about all the missing c's in my posts!

Tee2072 · 05/05/2009 08:12

Good morning Mummies!!

Total crap nights sleep. Off to train my replacement today...8 more days of work!!

Have another Antenatal Today. That should be fun. Then my first Antenatal class! The fun never stops here in TeeLand!

Hope everyone is doing well.

I note that this is post 932...shall we consider a new thread name?

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 05/05/2009 08:57

Hello all.

Still really crampy, they're not BH as I'm having them too. This feels more like a dull back ache and period pain. I'm 36 weeks on Friday, DS was here at 37 so I wouldn't be that shocked if something happened in the next couple of weeks. At least we're pretty prepared this time!

Hope you're all well. I'm waiting for my new phone to arrive today - an early birthday present. My birthday is on the 19th of June.... something tells me I won't be getting much of a birthday this year..... mind you, I'm due on the 5th so they might be inducing me on the 19th if I go over.......

OP posts:
ermintrude13 · 05/05/2009 09:57

Morning all

Ineed my BH are now sometimes accompanied or followed by more period pain type cramps. V mild compared with what my actual period pain used to be like, but I think it's all part of the uterine contractions just like BH. I'd love it to mean my LO will be a bit early but think I got these around this time before and both DC were late. Hope you don't spend your bd being induced!

Tee hope training goes well - we'll know why you're not posting . And enjoy Antenatal class.

lauraloo I occasionally get those pains, and used to get them while menstruating too. Don't think they're anything to worry about.

mrsmc poor you at reaching the 'No!' stage with a toddler just now. When my toddlers were tricky I tried avoiding That Word and saying terribly reasonable things in a quiet voice - 'Maybe we'll go to the park later, but not just now because we need to do x and y', or 'Let's not throw food on the floor because it makes such a mess, why don't you help me clear this up?'. I still wouldn't allow the bad behaviour but tried to escape the monotony of No and suggest distractions. It made me feel slightly more relaxed because my DC reacted very negatively to a straight No.

Also, I'm with insy on the joy of CBeebies, especially if it's snuggled up on one side of you while baby feeds on the other. My DS's teacher is always marvelling at his general knowledge and I have to own up that he got most of it from watching the BBC .

Insy the babies have got less room to move so there will be fewer clear kicks and more strong, slower movements. Mine seems to like stretching - ouch - and I'm sure its turning or changing the position of its arms and legs quite regularly. I'm nearly 34 wks and am expecting the movements to become more ponderous as time goes on. But if you're at all worried do call the MW for reassurance.

bigcar Glad you had a nice visit from a friend. Now that the weekend's frivolities are over I'm not hosting any 'events' until my family come to visit the manger in June, so am hoping that a few people will pop in for a natter - preferably with cake - between now and then.

insywinsyspider · 05/05/2009 09:57

ineed I'm due 18th and my birthday is 27th so totally agree not much of a birthday for us this year! dh already asking what I would like and I just can't think of anything, trying to plan in a meal before baby makes appearance, can't believe you're almost 37 wks!

WelshSuprise · 05/05/2009 10:15

Hi girls, sorry I've not been around much lately.

Had major panic stations on Wed. Started getting pains so went into labour ward and I was in premature labour so they've done all they can now and injected me with steroids to try and mature her lungs and filled me with tablets to try and prevent me dilating and to keep bubba in there for a bit longer !!

What a shock though . Hadn't even got my hospital bag ready so had to race around trying to pack before we left. With me being booked in for an elective c-section, I honestly hadn't thought about the prospect of early delivery but now thats all I CAN think about !!!!!

bigcar · 05/05/2009 10:16

insy, have you tried the long icy cold drink to get your lo moving? I'm 36 weeks now and am still getting strong movements, probably not quite so many as a couple of weeks ago but my lo's still moving from side to side, some days it's quite obvious which side my lo is lying on! But then this is my 5th baby and my tummy muscles are completely shot. I'd be tempted to go get checked personally.

tee, must be nice to be on the countdown now, enjoy your class later!

ermin, people can't come to the manger without bearing gifts surely, cake sounds perfectly acceptable

bigcar · 05/05/2009 10:18

welsh, x posts! Hope your lo hangs in there a little longer, what a worry, make sure you're resting!

Naat · 05/05/2009 10:24

Welsh, hope the baby waits a little longer before his/her arrival. Good to know you're being well taken care of. As bigcar said, try and rest as much as you can.

I'll catch up now, Juners!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 05/05/2009 10:25

Welsh - What a worry. How many weeks are you? Hang on there little baby Welsh!! I agree that you need lots of rest. Take care and keep us posted xx

OP posts:
WelshSuprise · 05/05/2009 10:34

Hi, thanks girls. I'm 32 weeks today so every extra day she stays in there is a bonus. I was taken in at 31 + 2 so hopefully things have calmed down with the help of the medication they gave me.

Naat · 05/05/2009 10:40

Hi Juners!

Yesterday I read all the posts but didn't get round to posting myself and now I'm lost! but I'll try and catch up with the latest ones.

Bigcar so glad you enjoyed your friend's visit. And yes, I guess LO will be "baby" for a few hours at least No sun at all here, rain most of the day yesterday Today is not looking any better either

Doris glad to hear DD is better!!

MrsMC sorry about the "no" phase. I cannot give you much advice unfortunately, as I have no experience whatsoever But ermin's advice sounds great! Have your heard from the doc?

LittleS hope you get answers from MW today and that you can sort these uni issues soon

Insy try the cold drinks, as bigcar suggested, or poking LO when you're either sitting or lying down but if you feel at all concerned, plese hon call the MW, it's not good to have you worrying all day.

Tee enjoy your AN class!!! 8 days!!!

Ineed It looks like LO might come in the next couple of weeks then! I wonder if you'll be the first one of us to "pop" Hope your present arrives soon! Enjoy! I sometimes feel the same pain in my back...

HI ermin! You're still my wise Juner Loved your technique!

Nice rest during the bank holiday but some work as well (gladly, as I want to finish it soon). Work work work today, the weather is awful, so no guilt about not going for a walk Hope you have a lovely day, Juners!!!

(((waves)))

chocciedooby · 05/05/2009 11:15

Hi everyone.
Not much time to catch up at the moment asd kids off school today but will try later on.
Hope all are well.

Welsh - hope your baby hangs on in there. As you say, every day is a bonus.

Lots of cramps for me last night. I was having BH every couple of minutes and at one point thought I was going into labour. I will be 35 weeks tomorrow. My BH are also period crampy type pains at the end of the BH.Never had this before.

insywinsyspider · 05/05/2009 11:18

thanks everyone - tried cold drinks and caffine, pretty much lay on my front in bed this am but only managed to feel 4 movements so far - just doesn't seem like a lot...
bigcar this is baby no3 in 3yrs so I figured my stomach muscles were shot too...
tried to call MW but no answer, I guess I just can't work out if less movements but still getting some is ok (even if I'm having to persuade baby to wriggle)

welsh at early labour but glad you've made it another 5 days since it started, fingers crossed lo makes her self comfortable now and stays put

mrsmcj missed bit about 'no' stage with ds, its very frustrating, just passing thro it with ds1 and probably about to head into it with ds2, ermin's advice sounds spot on, I did same, distraction worked really well for ds1, not so good with ds2, and I had to learn to pick my battles which was hard, I never let ds1 empty the kitchen cupboards but once ds2 arrived I realised it kept him quiet whilst I made dinner I've ended up clearing out a bottom draw for them both and filling it with spoons, empty boxes, old saucepan and plastic food for them to play with/spread out all over kitchen whilst I cook

June2009 · 05/05/2009 11:34

Ineed Sounds like you might be the one starting the thread in "post-natal"...

welsh I hope you are not too freaked out and resting ok, fingers crossed for you that lo has found a comfortable position and stays in for a few more weeks!

insy My lo has not really got set patterns - that I can work out anyway.
Some days movements, sometimes kicks, sometimes just moving around, some days very quiet. (I'm 35+2 now).
If you are worried I would get it checked, you're not wasting anybody's time and it'll put your mind at rest.

Gotta get back to work unfortunatly, got stressed by an overzealous stupidbitch credit controller's email to me this morning and ended up in tears.
I wish my email program was clever and put emails from idiots directly in my spam folder.
Anyway, dh to the rescue so the world is a better place - for now!

lauraloo09 · 05/05/2009 12:27

morning afternoon juners hope everyone is well

I had a terrible nights sleep was up between 3 and 7 and went back to sleep until 10 mins ago so i am all over the place today I have also been suffering from bad period type cramps which have had me worried all night but by the sounds of things it could be normal?

My day with mum yesterday was great until she got home and dad was drunk again and again starting to blame her for his drinking its not fair that she lives like that i told her what i think she should do but after her depression last year she doesn't think she's strong enough to leave him after 29years of marriage. Anyhoo something good did happen yesterday I found the Christening Gown I would like my daughter to have for her day and I bought it..well have until Saturday to come up with the money for it...£95 but mum said she would love to buy it for me which was lovely of her, as soon as I have it i will post a pic of it

welsh at going into prem labour but thankfully your LO has stayed put for now as everyday counts in her/his development please just rest and take it easy, will be thinking of you x

I was listening to radio last night when not sleeping and heard the song "The Final Countdown" by Europe and thought of us, how does that sound for the new thread title?

Naat · 05/05/2009 12:42

Oh Lauraloo so sorry to hear about last night I guess we're all having period-like cramps, the joys of the last weeks!

I'm glad you had a good day with your mum but so sorry to hear about her day after that It must be so hard for her, esp. when you don't feel strong enough to react to things. Happy thoughts going her way xx

Congrats on the gown! Hope you can buy it soon Oh, and I like the name for the thread, Juners?

June at the bloody woman! Sorry to hear you cried, hon but glad DH came to the rescue

Insy loved your distraction technique! Sounds like something I'd have done when little I was a handful!!

Choccie hope you're feeling better re. cramps. By the way, have the meds worked?? Hope you have an easy day.

Right, back to work

June2009 · 05/05/2009 13:57

hey Naat, Laura Another one here with period-like cramps and BHs today...
Last night I dreamt that my plug had gone :S

Appointment with the mw this Thursday, quite looking forward to it.

Trying to come up with suggestions for the thread... something along the lines of final countdown/home run is good, "We finally get to meet our babies", (bit cheesy though innit).
"BH, cramps & backache, all the signs are here"
Maybe something about us waddling / not being able to put our socks/shoes on unaided anymore (or am I the only one ;)
Or something about RLT and birth plans being ready.

Sorry I don't feel very coherent today
Anyone else still got a functionning brain? .

"Due June 09: Sleep-deprived and achey all over, the final countdown" ?

daisy5 · 05/05/2009 14:17

Due June 09: RLT, BH, SPD, HB, EC, VBAC & no plans to TTC again!!!

Maybe a bit radical!

Heavy BH here too. I wake in the night and my tummy is rock solid. Last night I dreamt that I walked into my 3yr old's room and she was reading out loud...and I just calmly thought 'how great, she can read'. Then there was one with car chases, something at the beach, getting lost in a vast hotel/office complex and being chased by baddies. At the end I ordered this wonderful huge hokey pokey icecream and left it behind at the beach ice cream parlour, and was so sad about that!

No headache this morning for the first time in two months. I went to playgroup grinning from ear to ear. I didn't realise how bad it had been until it wasn't there. Last time was the same except through the whole pregnancy, and then 5 mins after I gave birth, it vanished. I am so excited about being 37 weeks next week.

laura - so sorry to hear about your Dad's alcoholism. I can see why your Mum would get depressed about it, but can also understand why she wouldn't want to leave. You must bring her much happiness, as you sound quite stable and happy, even if your sister demands a lot of her attention.

June2009 · 05/05/2009 14:29

That's a good one daisy :D

lauraloo09 · 05/05/2009 14:48

hiya just thought i'd post the link to the christening gown i bought, i found the money and went and paid for it today so it is now hanging up in baby's wardrobe and i didn't notice the designer's name lol the designer is called Sarah Louise and Sarah is the name me and DH chose for our baby freeky or what

christening gown
