Blimey - you're a right bunch of chatterboxes

Thanks for the new name Daisy - would have been appropriate last time round as I was a very sick cushion. This time have sailed through so far with very few problems.

Until a cold struck last week and I became more or less incontinent with every coughing fit

Think lo has dropped as I am extremely uncomfortable all of a sudden, lots of heaviness in my pelvis, constant bladder pressure and some shooting pains in my fanjo. Oh the joys of the last few weeks of pg!!

Thanks for adding me to the list. I'm 34 adn have a dd aged 17months.

Any other Juners considering a hb? Still on plan as long as my bp doesn't go up or I chicken put (great possibility)

Tee2072 · 01/05/2009 19:12

Hi All.

Busy day today as I started to train my maternity cover.

2 MORE WEEKS!!!

I'll try to catch up with y'all over the weekend, I am too tired right now!

LittleSarah · 01/05/2009 20:18

Thanks bigcar and Ineed for kind words about dissertation, it is coming together and so soon will have it off my hands!

choccie and all others who've sympathised with my plight, got a message from midwife today about an hour ago (was in cinema). (Apparently she left one this morning but nothing on either machine and neither phone rang this am). Anyway, basically she said considering when I had eaten bloods were only slightly elevated and I should phone her Tuesday am to discuss what to do next.... riiiiight... very clear there huh!? Maybe she'll just do another blood test first and then we'll see about gtt. Who knows? Most bizarre interlude.

Silk - As long as baby turns I am having a home birth (had one last time and was great), I remember ermintrude saying she is planning one, I think there are some others!

Bigcar - I was about to say, ooh I've managed to wash baby clothes this week too and then I noticed the word 'iron'... ahhhh. Nope, no ironing here sadly, you are out housewifing me madam.

Ineed - Great news about the job for your mum! Especially considering the awful situation she is in now. She must be so pleased and relieved.

chocciedooby · 01/05/2009 20:48

Bigcar thanks for your well wishes.
I didn't realise you were on crutches with SPD.Poor you You must be seriously on count down to delivery.

Effielou I am pretty happy with the estimated weight of baba but wouldn't want it to go over the 9.6lbs tbh.Sisters was 10.7 and she said it was awful, shoulders got stuck etc.Quite traumatic.

chocciedooby · 01/05/2009 20:55

ineed glad to hear your brother and partner are ok.Sounds like it was a pretty nasty accident.

Your poor SIL. Sounds like she has done the right thing throwing him out. Out for a drink Thursday...back Sunday!!!!!.

Congratulations to your mum.Thats great news.

littlesarah Oh.My.God. What is wrong with these people??????Why can't they just give you the answers when you need them.I would be so frustrated if I was in your position but suppose (fingers crossed) you will have a clearer idea what is going on next week .

I have had a pretty good day 2day apart from feeling very very tired. Taking my meds soon and then off to bed. Both ds's are now sick with colds. DS1 is the worst poor pet. He never complains when he is sick but has spent the whole afternoon on the sofa in front of the tv. He has fallen asleep tonight earlier than he has all year!!! Hate to sound selfish but hope they both sleep through ok as I am pinning my hopes on a good nights sleep for the first time in a week myself.

Have a good evening all.
xx

Naat · 01/05/2009 21:48

Hi Juners!!!

Choccie So glad to hear you've been better. Fingers super crossed for you to have a full night's sleep HOpe DSs get better soon.
Oh, yay that you got your meds!!! Let's throw all these "friends" out once and for all!!

LittleS at your MW!!! Why on earth is she so mysterious about this??? Why not give straight answers for once!?!? Grrrr...
Did you get any further answers from your supervisor or did the leave the matter at that??? If so, what can you do now to find out what you need?

Tee yay! Only two more weeks!!!

Silk No HB here but planning to hypnobirth our baby at the birthing centre LittleS is right, there are more Juners homebirthing their babies so they'll tell you more

Effie fingers crossed for buggy to arrive on Tuesday I'm also doing the final bit of "baby" shopping tomorrow... sooooo excited by the way I'll look up the mumsnet group on FB, as I have an account there.

Ineed sooooooooooo glad to hear about your mum's new job!!! Congrats to her!!! I hope you all celebrate!!
Glad to hear your DB and his GF are better but at the other driver!! Hope it all resolves quickly.
As Choccie said, your SIL is much better without her partner... it does sound like he was not a partner at all, TBH. I guess you'll all be there to give her the support she needs to get by at first.
Oh, yes, I remember something extra every day to put in the bag Our pg brain doesn't help much, I guess

Bigcar so glad to hear your glucose levels are back to normal!!! yay for you! I also heard the hot summer rumour Let's hope it turns out to be more than just that

Hi Laura and Ermin! And the rest of the Juners!!!

Right, translation is done!!! Now I have to revise it, of course, and translate the graphics in photoshop, which is not something nice to do But well, at least I can say it's translated!

Our first parenting class at the BCentre was really nice. I love the philosophy of BCs We discussed the usual things, stages or labour, expectations, fears, partners' support, etc and got to know 3 other couples who all seem to be really nice.

Right, sorry for the long post! Hi to all Juners! Let's hope for a sunny Saturday!!

((((waves))))

insywinsyspider · 01/05/2009 21:59

Daisy ? mum friend of mine had one of those slumber bears and hated it, as soon as it stopped her dd would cry again, guess that?s not the idea, prob best if they could self settle themselves. Hope you feel better soon

Ineed ? I know cc isn?t v popular but its working for us at the moment, only 2 mins of crying at 3am ? still horrible but at least we all got a bit more sleep!

Tee ? any news bout dh? Hope its good news

loooise - thanks! must remember to take photo off now!

Hi everyone ? I probably won?t get on here over weekend as we?re pretty busy with family and hoping to be out enjoying that sunshine catch up soon

MrsMcJnr · 01/05/2009 22:03

Hey ladies we are due NEXT MONTH !! Been busy the last couple of days. I was at the dr on Thurs morning and it turns out that you do the Strep B swab yourself and then take it in for analysis might have to look up how on the internet was also told by GP that if it is negative no antibiotics are needed in labour regardless of earlier Strep B in urine we?ll see what the result is when I do the test next week! We were out for dinner last night (Lebanese food ? yummy!) with my parents. We got a babysitter for DS as we figured it might be one of our last nights out for a while. It was fun . Today we took our remaining things from the old flat and locked the door ? the end of an era! The town hall were giving away free BBQd sardines on the beach today and there was a bit of a party going on so we went down to soak up the atmosphere. Both my boys have gone to bed early tonight as a result and I shall be following shortly. Right, what have you all been up to??

MrsMcJnr · 01/05/2009 22:56

Hey June, I love my ?V? pillow; still use it all the time since I BF DS.

Oh God Choccie ? you poor thing! My Mum was obsessed with thread worms when we were kids, said we always had them. Hope you shift them and fast and that the contraband medicine arrived!

Ineedmore ? your poor bro and GF so glad that they were not seriously hurt but it must have been an awful shock (actually GF sounded pretty serious ). I hope his new job were ok about it. Great news about your Mum! Hope the SPD stays calm for you so your DS was born at 37 weeks? Any inklings about an early arrival this time?

Littlesarah ? what an odd comment from your yoga teacher any more news on the blood front? Sorry that you were down about Uni on Thurs, hope you?ve cleared that up now. I wouldn?t go back to my dissertation days for the world (sorry!). Good luck getting your baby to turn on your own hon. apparently they don?t try to turn them medically here.

Ermintrude ? I used to feel DS?s hands before he was born, people thought I was nuts but I am sure that was what it was glad to hear your baby has moved have a lovely weekend.

Insy ? glad to hear that DS2 is back sleeping through the night, it makes such a difference!

Effielou ? sorry about the stretch marks I thought I?d got away without any last time and then spotted some when DS was about 8 months old (and I was pg again) just under the bump ? must have forgotten that bit last time! Hope slapped cheek stays away from your house my DS is always called Bear Xavier Bear mostly LOL at the initials, lucky you noticed. We have friends and the initials of their 4th child are ARS oh dear I think my baby?s head was engaged and then she moved as I had a lot of pressure a few weeks back but it has eased now. Buggy looks nice, very classy in the brown wow, big babies, did they sleep well??

Lauraloo ? enjoy the class tomorrow I want to see Wolverine too my DS is Xavier and his cousins call him X-man This stage (35 weeks) with DS my bump had dropped and he was 3/5th engaged and stayed that way until 9 days after his due date when he was born!!

Naat ? I feel like I need more time too well done on finishing the technical translation Glad you had fun at the parenting class

Tee ? tell us more about DH?s redundancy, are you very worried hon?

Blueberrysorbet ? I?ve done a little manual on my DS for his carers (the grandmas) makes me feel better that they?ll know how things are usually done for him. I?m such a control freak

Hey Silkcushion ? nice to have you back how are you keeping?

Loouise ? glad you had a good time at NCT I?ve got a few Abaceta bras, Swedish brand, they are such an improvement on my Royce ones!

Daisy ? so sorry that you are still not better hope it?s not long. I?ve seen those bears and was tempted with DS but never got round to getting one. He?s not really into soft toys though/

Bunnymother ? hello I coveted the Fisher Price Rainforest swing for most of my pregnancy with DS, finally got a great deal on eBay, was over the moon but he hated it so hoping that this baby likes it better!

Bigcar ? glad to hear all is well hon

Oh no midnight better get to bed!

Naat · 02/05/2009 05:34

Up since 4.30 here...
Insy Have a great wkend with the family. Hope you have lots of sun shining where you are!

MrsMC Fingers crossed this LO likes the Fisher Price swing!! Very very at you mentioning the word "beach" in your first post, let me tell you It's great that you had a night out and had a good time... when LOs come, we won't be doing that right away, I guess...
How odd that you do the strep B swab yourself and take it to them, huh? So, apparently you won't need AB even if you had strep B in your urine? Last time you did, didn't you?

tee any news from your DH's job? Prayers going your way, girl.

Not feeling sleepy at all here... and it's really clear outside, which is not helping

I'll try listening to the hypnob tracks, wish me luck

bigcar · 02/05/2009 06:15

morning all

effie, I have a redhead too! Dd1 is a redhead, dd3 was very red when she was born but has gone more blond/brown now. Lovely pram, hope it turns up soon! I remember holding my friends little boy a few months back, he was just over 6lbs and commenting on how small he seemed, she said, yours were all that small once, erm, no, my smallest was 8lb 2

ineed, glad things are ok with your db and his gf. Well done to your mum too! Sorry to hear about your sil, if dh did that, his life wouldn't be worth living, hope things work out for her.

littlesarah, try not to worry too much, the rate your mw is going you'll have had your lo by the time she makes her mind up if it is a problem! I need to blitz dd2s bedroom this weekend, she's been "tidying" it for weeks, but some how I still can't tell what colour the carpet is in there yet

choccie, glad you got your meds, fingers crossed they work quickly and your dcs are all on the mend too. Yep, definitely on the countdown, 36 weeks on monday, not long now!

naat, your bc sounds good, glad you had a good time!

MrsMcJnr, doing your own swab, sounds........ interesting Your evening out sounds great!

well, the sun is out already, let's hope it lasts all weekend I have an old school friend coming over for lunch today, I haven't seen her in ages so I'm really looking forward to seeing her, lots of gossip important info to catch up on

Have a lovely weekend ladies

Tee2072 · 02/05/2009 06:59

Morning all.

Now that I am a bit more coherent than I was last night, I'll try and catch up.

First of all, thanks for the all well wish for DH's job. His Head of School told him yesterday that they would be meeting with himself and HR on the 14th May (my last day of work, BTW ) to discuss the 'restructuring' and DH's future at the University. So once again, we have no idea if he's being made redundant, put somewhere else, or what. I have told DH that, personally, I am done and want him to find a new job. They've been messing him around for nearly 2 years with all this.

mrsmcj your own swab? That should be, um...fun is not the right word!! I hope it comes back negative anyway!

I don't think I said welcome to silk, so welcome! I do think a few people are doing HB. Not me, however.

Sounds like you're feeling better choccie which is great. I hope you got a good nights sleep.

Hope everyone else has a lovely Saturday. We're off to Ikea to finish buying baby furniture!!

daisy5 · 02/05/2009 08:31

Blimey, it's hard to catch up. I read all the posts and then forget who said what.

Slept from 11:00 until 6:30 this morning so feeling good about that. Glands are a bit less swollen. I did attempt a coq au vin last night but it almost killed me, so I have banned myself from cooking dishes which require more than one hours prep!!

DH was out the night before and didn't get home till 5am!!! He had been at an awards ceremony and afterwards had spent until 4am trying to convince two business people of the good sense of a current business proposition - nothing if not dedicated!! Although perhaps a bit of a slurry conversation after 2am methinks. Sometimes I miss my former carefree life when we both used to stay out till all hours, and sometimes I am relieved I have an excuse - what do you think?

Oh - does anyone have any experience of these growth curves on your maternity notes. I didn't have a chart with dd1. This time at 29 weeks baby was on the lowest curve, at 32 weeks on the middle (average) curve, and at 35 weeks is on the highest curve, so a steep climb! If the next measurement is above the highest curve they will scan me I think. Is this a very precise science the fundal measurement? oh and effie - what large babies - at least you know they are lovely, big, bouncy, healthy bubbas . My 4'11" cousin (with equally short husband) just had a 9lb9oz baby - that surprised me!

Re: slumber bear. I might wait until the baby is born and take a view on what kind of a sleeper he is. Can always order from JoJoMaman and it will arrive in 2 days.

silkcushion - apologies. Silk definately far preferable to 'sick'. I am considering home birth but have to confirm by Thursday at the latest. I am likely to decide against sadly, because, and this may sound dumb reasons....but at 42 if anything went wrong I would never forgive myself and could not try again (I would blame myself you see), there is a good chance dp may not be with me if before due date, and as expecting a fast delivery (which I found quite frightening last time) in my area it is actually faster to order the ambulance with paramedic to get to hospital than to wait for the midwife. Also dp not keen as previous partner heamorrhaged badly and needed emergency services asap. I am gutted though, and wonder if I am making a mistake . I think it would give us a wonderful attachment to our new home - where we could say 'our son was born'.

tee - so it's all clear about dh's job then ....not! I hate it when they drag things out like that....especially when you are due in June. Like you need a reason for extra sleeplessness.

Ineed - controlled crying didn't work for us and I stopped quite quickly. She just got in a desperate state and then I discovered she had reflux which was why - all that horrible acid riding up her throat. She must have been in agony. I thank the stars I had only tried a few times. I'm not against it at all, but all babies are different and some things will work for some babies but not all. Just like the swings, and the slumber bears and the massage etc. Just my view.

mrsmcjnr - how nice to have a night out. There is a groovy restaurant at the end of our street that we haven't yet been to (open about 9months now!) so I might just book that now

Ineed - great news about your Mum. I'm all for older people being fantastic people to hire. Very reliable workers, experience on their side and if happy likely to stay much longer than a much younger candidate.

erm - thanks for the book recommendations. I got 'Frances & Friends' and 'I'm a Big Sister Now' by Joanna Cole, and one other wordless book called 'The New Baby' which is really a prompt for conversation (probably good for younger children). I'm a Big Sister Now is the big hit as it makes her feel important because she has such a big job to do. Thanks for the tip. mrsmc - did you get one at all? I know you mentioned it, but that Xavier might be a bit young for them.

naat - my dd loved the Fisher Price swing and we wish we had bought it earlier. As she had reflux, she much preferred being upright, so actually our first full night of sleep was one night when she slept in the swing from 11:00 till 7:00. Yes, that goes against all medical advice and manufacturers recommendations etc etc, but it was funny - and we were all so much happier the next day. Great for when you are cooking meals too and stuff like that. I hope he/she likes it.

I had better go, I can hear dd is awake now. We put her to bed at 8.30 on Fri and Sat nights and she sleeps for 12 hours, so that's usually a nice lie in for me.

Daisy - I've never missed carefree days too much as have good babysitting network so have - with dd anyway - managed to get a fair few carefree nights anyway. I have missed it a little with pregnancy, wish I go out for a few drink when uni work is finally wrapped up for example, but never mind! Will have a few glasses of celebratory champagne soon enough. I think first six months or so of baby's life I may miss it a bit, two kids, breast feeding, not really able/comfortable leaving baby much, etc. However one of the best things about pregnancy - no hangovers!

Tee - Bloody university, sounds like they are numpties! I agree, new job!

Bigcar, choccie and naat - I know! What is the midwife like with this test! Bad or not? Gtt or not? Come on woman... but bigcar I'm sure you are right, if she is faffing about this much it can't be that bad.

Naat - The course leader gave me a bit more information on what he meant when he said 'edited' transcripts so I'm going with that and have told supervisor but don't want to speak to him again. I mean I know people doing full transcripts and some doing none so it obviously isn't a big deal but clearly my supervisor decided to make a thing out of it. Edited transcripts mean the most work for me too as I already have them fully typed! I think I will just go through quickly and remove anything definitely not mentioned and leave the rest.

Sorry to hear about your sleep problems, poor lamb. I think perhaps the reason I've not been up more (to pee) yet is because baby is breech (one silver lining if so), all the pressure is at the top (near lungs) and so bladder is perhaps escaping a little. Only a theory of course...

MrsMcJnr - That beach BBQ sounds great, sometimes I would love love love to emmigrate... bloods as mentioned are back and elevated but not sure if elevated enough to take any further yet!

silkcushion · 02/05/2009 14:34

hello all - I apologise in advance because I just don't have the mental capacity to keep up with everything on the thread. Suffering greatly with befuddled thickie pregnancy brain (not normally really stupid I promise).

Last time I stayed thick until the minute I walked back through the door at work 4 months later - it was like an elastic band snapping back into place and suddenly I had my cognitive facilities again.

Simply don't think I can retrospectively work out what's going on for you all - so shall try and pick it up from here.

Daisy - I totally agree with your concerns regarding a HB. I have mixed feelings too. Main reason for considering it is dd. We don't really have anyone local who we could call on to look after her whilst I went in to hospital. My mum says she'll come but lives 2 hours away - might not have that much time. Also my parents are abroad until a fortnight before my due date. Was kept in for four days with dd as she had jaundice -wasn't much fun. Quite like the idea of having a shower in my bathroom and then crawling into my bed for a snuggle with my little girls afterwards. On the other hand I'm concerned about any complications. Mw says paramedic would get there quickly and we live about 10 mins from the hospital. Not bothered about pain relief - managed with G and A last time and am having a proper course of hypnobirthing this time so am hoping to be really calm and zoned out.

Honestly think I'll make my mind up at the last minute. Why do you have to choose so early?

Thanks to all others who've said hello

daisy5 · 02/05/2009 14:49

silk because full term is from 37 weeks onwards, and they need a week to do admin - add me to their list which goes out to all midwives who are registered to do homebirths in the next month or so, etc etc. Poor you that you have no one to call on. I'm lucky to have two really nice neighbours who have offered to look after dd if I suddenly have to 'go'....and I have a babysitter who I could pay to help, if needed. No relations nearby though. What would you do if you had to go to hospital afterwards for any reason - would your dh stay at home with dd? It's quite tough isn't it. What part of the country are you in?

silkcushion · 02/05/2009 14:58

We're in Gloucestershire. If we had to transfer in then I would leave dh and dd behind or my mum might have got there by then. MIL does live relatively close by but she doesn't really have much to do with us or dd (rarely visits, never rings) and is really scatty and unreliable doing dangerous absentminded things. Not the sort of person you would want to leave an inquisitive toddler with.

Didn't have a clue about all the admin stuff that went along with a HB. Saw my MW this week - the appointment got taken up with discussing the fact that she couldn't find lo's head or heartbeat

She wasn't too concerned though cos we could feel her squiggling furiously. That's when she decided she must have dropped into my pelvis (my bladder agrees with this). I'm not due to see her now until 36+ 4. She said we'll sort the HB stuff out then - did mention she'd want all the kit at my house by 37 weeks esp if the lo stays engaged.

Perhaps I'm a bit naive about this whole process and need to find out more

LittleSarah · 02/05/2009 16:08

Silk - It may be if you are struggling to decide that hb is just not something you're comfortable with, not this time anyway. I decided last time early on and then never questioned the decision. If you had more time I would suggest finding a home birth group where you can meet others doing it/having done it and get clarity that way but as time is running out it would be difficult to do. (I have a local monthly home birth group which is great for support).

I'm not saying don't do it, for me it was fab and can't praise it more highly, but I know labour is very stressful and if you aren't feeling relaxed and happy in your choice that probably isn't the best thing!

However, if you do really like the idea of it then perhaps you could ask midwife if they have anyone they could chat to who has done it, or just read up more generally.

I think a big part of it is being relaxed and happy about it however, if you can get that, you're sorted.

MrsMcJnr · 02/05/2009 22:15

Hey girls just got back from a lovely afternoon/evening at friends their DD is 6 weeks older than DS and they play so nicely together

Naat ? what on earth were you doing up at 4.30? not working I hope re the Strep B, I wasn?t tested and to my knowledge didn?t have Strep B last pregnancy. The Strep in the urine was found this pg and it was because of that I was told I?d need ABs in labour will cross that bridge when I have the swab results.

Bigcar ? hope you had a lovely time with your friend

Tee ? sorry to hear that about DH?s job not what you need all that uncertainty. What did you get at Ikea??

Daisy ? glad you had a better night, coq au vin is too much effort! DH told our friends tonight that I hadn?t cooked for 5 nights what have we been eating then? Can?t remember out until 5am I think those days are over for me now, especially when I know I have to get up with DS regardless of what time I went to bed! Sometimes pre DS DH and I would party all night, have a meal at 3am and sleep until 3pm ? life is very different now! My baby has gone from the middle line of that curve to above the top one in the 3 weeks between scans. Not sure how accurate these things are to be honest but if they are basing yours on fundal height it is probably even less accurate (mine are based on scan measurements). By the way Dr B told me a week ago he?d email me after reading my birth plan, no response yet Sorry to hear that you are sad about your thinking not to have a HB hon. Reading with interest about the books, I had forgotten to get one

Littlesarah ? sometimes I think hangovers are a million times better than morning/ all day sickness! I have it back with a vengeance now and it lasts until lunchtime!

Silkcushion ? when I was pg with DS I just couldn?t work out how to use the camcorder I HAD to have to film his early days, I stayed baffled until he was 6 months old and then couldn?t believe how thick I had been because it is so easy to work hope you get the birth you want wish I could have a HB but not even worth considering for me (have a blood clotting problem and risk is too high)

Started my RLT today ? a whole pot ? it hasn?t improved in the last 15 months!

Naat · 02/05/2009 23:21

Hi Juners!!

Bigcar, hope you had a lovely time with your school friend. Lovely gossip, I suppose, as well

Tee, I guess a new job would be best then, if he's been treated like this for long... it's just disrespectful, honestly. What did you get in IKEA?

Daisy, sooo glad you had a good night's sleep! No idea about growth curves And re. the all-nighters... I think I've been "an old lady" for quite a while now hahaha. I used to go dancing with friends and come back at 6-7am (which is not unusual at all in Buenos Aires) but now at 10-11pm I'm ready to land like a plane Hope you continue feeling better

LIttleS, yes, it does sound like your supervisor decided to make a thing out of this, as everyone else seems to be doing as they please re. transcripts. I hope it doesn't take you that long to edit them you poor thing. Oh, I wanted to tell you that yesterday at the BC class we had the MW gave us tips to "put the baby" in the correct position and one of them (which I hadn't mentioned in the email I sent you) is that whenever you're sitting down, you try to make sure your knees are below the line of your hips. That is, if you look at your position from the side, your legs must create a 90° angle. (I hope I'm explaining this correctly ). Apparently that gives LO more space and you don't "push" it towards you back. Thought you might be interested When do you next see your MW?

Silk, don't worry about not catching up, sometimes we talk too much DH and I have just finished our hypnobirthing course, we really liked it and hope to have a natural and calm birth as well Hope you can make a decision that makes you feel reassured and calm WRT a home birth. You as well, Daisy. I guess, as LittleS said, you have to feel relaxed with whatever choice you make, that's the important thing.

MrsMc, nope, not working, just plain insomnia Sooo annoying!! Esp. because it was so clear outside, it looked like 7.30am and it was 4.30! Sorry I mixed up all the strep b info I thought you had had it with DS. Well, I hope they give you straight answers after your "home" swab. at your doc not emailing you back yet... Glad you spent a nice afternoon with friends

Choccie, hope you're feeling better and better

HI to all the rest of the Juners out there!

Today we bought the last bits of things for LO's arrival. We went to IKEA, just like Tee, and bought a new airer for LO's clothes, a baby bath tub and some bits and bobs, which seems to happen EVERY time you go to IKEA, huh? You go for 1 thing and take home 25 different ones I don't remember which of the Juners mentioned this before

We also bought a graco travel electronic bouncer from Ebay (Bunny I remembered you ). I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and it was 20 pounds cheaper than in Mothercare, so I didn't doubt for a second! DH also liked it so that's a plus

LO has been moving quite a lot today and have had BH all day! Not the best thing when you're walking around trying to shop

Hope everyone had a lovely day, let's hope for more sun tomorrow!

Can't sleep again and have been really crampy all night. We're due to go round SIL's for her DS's birthday, but might take all my bags, just in case. Having had one early arrival, I don't want to be unprepared! SPD is also painful (always is when I can't sleep as all the tossing and turning really aggravates it).

I'm trying to get Father's Day all planned and ready as I know it'll be a nightmare as LO will definitely be here by then. Off to town tomorrow to get DH's present and FIL's voucher (bless him, he needs a whole new wardrobe as he's lost so much weight since the op). My brother's sorting my dad's (hooray - normally me doing it for both of us!). It'll be weird writing DS's card as it'll be from two LOs this year.....

EffieLou - I hope your pram arrives on Tuesday.

Silkcushion - I also have to try and remember to cross my legs when I sneeze or cough. I?m trying to remember my pelvic floor exercises... it?s still bloody embarrassing though!

choccie - Can?t believe that your sister had a 10lb7oz baby. Blardy hell! My DS was 7lb8oz when he was born at 37 weeks and I was told that, had I gone full-term, or even worse overdue, he?d have been a ?ten-pounder?..... I was a 10lb baby myself so I was hoping it wasn?t hereditary! Hope your DSs get over their colds soon. It?s miserable when they?re ill...

Naat - Glad your BC session went well. Hope you slept better last night. I can sympathise with the insomnia... Glad you had a good Ikea trip. I also seem to come out of there with far more than I planned to (esp. with gadgets for the kitchen!)

MrsMc - Very at your beach visit. I grew up near the beach and sometimes feel quite claustrophobic ?in-land?. Glad you had a lovely day at your friends. It?s lovely when kids play together so nicely, isn?t it?

Bigcar - Hope you enjoyed lunch with your friend.

Tee - Sorry it?s still so ?up-in-the-air? about DH?s job future. I hope it?s good news on the 14th.

LittleSarah - How?s the stairs leaning? Any other good tips on getting baby in a baby in a better position? My DS was back-to-back and I?m desperate to try and minimise the chance of that again....

silkcushion - I don?t think I?ve ever regained my pre-pregnancy brain! I mourn the loss.... I lived in Gloucestershire for 6 years, I was based in Cheltenham, but taught at a school in Quedgeley, nr. Gloucester. Where are you based?

Cross fingers these cramps are nothing more sinister girls..... I don't want the baby this early.....

Morning Ladies. Ive been up since 06:20 this morning with the two youngest who seem to wake up with the sunrise lately I think Im going to have to invest in black out curtains for their room
I had a fabulous afternoon yesterday. My three eldest daughters age 20 19 and 17 along with my 3 sisters organised a surprise baby shower for me My mum paid for me to get my hair cut and dyed and my sister who does body shop at home parties did a full makeover for me . I cant believe how generous everyone was. I had two baskets full of useful things for baby baby wipes shamppo lotions and cotton wool nappies etc aswell as a beautiful teddy bear and some lovely outfits and balloons.
There was also a basket of goodies for me which included foot soaks and facial products bubble baths and breast pads etc. As Im on my 6th girl we hope I have virtually everything I need so everyone had clubbed together and bought us a camcorder Im soo excited and have been looking through all my lovely gifts again this morning. We played some funny games too and had a lovely spread withn a beautiful cake.
Im off to take my daughter who was 6 last week to the cinema at some point today to see the new hannah montanna movie with her birthday money I hope Im ok sitting in those seats
Im looking forward to seeing baby on the scan again on wednesday when I will be reassessed for babys growth. I think Im going to have to ask about my spd too this week really struggling now. Walking upstairs is a nightmare.

Hope you are feeling ok Ineed The thought of going too early scares me too Im having a hell of a lot of tightenings too this time Lets just hope theyre braxton hicks. Ive been trying to get fathers day sorted too and have been looking for a pool table for dp. Its the same weekend as my daughters 18th although we are having her birthday party a week earlier jointly with my nephew and its literally a couple of days before my due date so think I need to get organised.
Welcome silkcushion Im feeling my usual pregnancy dense fog too. The last pregnancy I nearly got accused of trying to abduct a womans baby I was looking at prams and she had left hers with baby inside (how was I supposed to know?) whilst she was looking around. I saw it and thinking it was on sale in the shop started to try it out by pushing it around It was only when I pushed the hood back that I noticed the baby lying there and a very irrate woman giving me daggers.
Yesterday morning I went to look for a cycle helmet for my son and did the same again. I picked up one near the checkout and was saying how perfect it was and asking dp to find out how much it was as it didnt have a price on it when an irrate cyclist said "excuse me that is MY helmet" I think im going to have to resort to shopping online from now on before Im arrested
I hope everyone else is well and has a great bank holiday weekend I will catch up again tomorrow
