Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

Beaches was on the other day. It gets me every time.

awwww drat, i missed it. supposed to be weepy though so probably best i dont watch it at the mo

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 20:41

Yes Beaches is great Nutty. But it's not Dolly, it's Bette.

And best not to watch Beaches when full of weepy pregnancy hormones. I saw a bit of it on tv a couple of months ago and was sobbing into the arm of the sofa in no time.

Puzzle - great stuff. Just in time! Hope she goes straight through tonight.

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 20:42

ah x posts - yes v. weepy

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 18/03/2009 20:43

LuLu - yup i know, i just have a list of reccomended films i need to watch at some point

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 18/03/2009 20:46

Puzzle - I'm a bit of a BLW fan so tell me if I get dull about it! But DS just LOVED it.

Am on the ball, but not quite behaving like a kangaroo on speed as yet. Possibly a rather elderly pregnant kangaroo having a quiet sit down until her pizza arrives. (mmmmmm, more healthy nutritious food for the baby....)

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 20:52

WFH - I am interested - don't worry about getting dull.

Although I made plenty of purees DD always preferred stuff she could feed herself (and still doesn't want my help now). Also I very much had the attitude that she wouldn't starve herself so I let her eat what she wanted (some days practically nothing, other days a bit better).

So I guess I did have a bit of a BLW weaning approach after all.

Smutty - are you registered with Love Film? It's great (apart from the fact that DH has put the entire Starship Enterprise on the list )

Schulte · 18/03/2009 20:54

In addition to proper food, I have had a hot cross bun with marmalade, two large scoops of ice cream and a small chocolate easter egg today. Am I allowed another easter egg?

Schulte · 18/03/2009 20:55

Oh LuLu I want to know how Love Film works! PIL gave us a voucher for Christmas but I have no idea how to get started?

SpringySunshine · 18/03/2009 21:00

conker, you're right about the budgeting - & the kicking up the backside. I will have to sit down & look at everything very carefully & work out what we need to get by & therefore what's left to enjoy. Meh. At least it's something useful to do that doesn't involve moving. That's a plus

I like your tactics WRT food - definitely good to make the most of what you can eat!

BB, that you have no baby. Could still be the beginnings, though - just very slowly! & it's good that they're not concerned

WFH, my LO is due the day before Easter Sunday, so I may end up with an Easter DS as well. It hadn't occured to me that I wouldn't get eggs! That's not on! I'd be interested to know about your experiences of BLW, if you don't mind chatting about it - the BLWers on the main forum for it scare me a bit! Ooh, I found where you explained it to Puzzle It sounds really nice. I'm seriously considering it for LO.

Boff, your hair sounds lovely - it must make such a difference to your morale to be really pleased with it & I'd not thought about the possibility of agency babysitting, but you may be onto something.

Love your bumpy line up, Ju

LuLu, I really do love your DD. I think she sounds fantastic. I'm sure she's a lot of hard work a lot of the time, but she's just hilarious Bless her, she sounds like such a fun little girl. & is doing a lot better with the sleeping at the moment! (That's all I'm saying, I don't want to jinx it for you )

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 18/03/2009 21:01

well its been another exciting day at the races!!

Lauren61 contracting like crazy and still no word! could this be baby number 8 (or is it 9 now??) on the way??? BB has had a false start, but it could all be preperation for another arrival Watch this Space!! WFH in light of the unfolding events has upped her training and her intake of RLT but dont tell the officials!!

Plugs have been popping all over the place and the frisky mares have been ball hopping for days!!!

Boffin is rareing to go and has her pool all set up!! time is ticking on who knows what could happen tommorow or even this evening!!!

I seem to have lost my Frisky Frekkley Friend so if you see her could you lead her back to the box please ........ it's lonely at the back

mumblemumhome4lunch · 18/03/2009 21:01

BLW - I've no idea exactly what this is "officially" but from what WFH and others have said it kind of sounds like what I did with DD by default !! She just wanted what we all had and DS kept passing her bits of his food. She just loved getting handfuld of stuff and doing it herself. And, TBH I'm a bit of a lazt-arse and it was just the easiest thing to give her the same as DS I recall I did do a bit of mashing up but far far less and for a much shorter period than with DS, and very mixed in with the grab-and-go stuff.

Can anyone tell me - having had a show, does it mean I can't do certain things like sex? swimming? I'm sure you girls will know, especially the first

bronze · 18/03/2009 21:03

I'm the same mumble. Did BLW weaning without knowing there was a label for it. I just tend to make stuff up as I go along though.

mumblemumhome4lunch · 18/03/2009 21:04

How dare there be any suggestion that easter baby = no easter aggs..........this one due on Easter Sunday so will expect a GIANT sized egg if it actually arrives on time !!!!

mumblemumhome4lunch · 18/03/2009 21:07

Bronze-buddy, makeg stuff up and making do sounds just like me

I remember seeing some weird looking net bag which you supposedly put a bit of fruit in for your baby to suck (?) to make sure they don't choke.......for goodness sake !

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 18/03/2009 21:07

LuLu - nope not registered yet but will do

surely if you have an easter baby you should get lots of eggs!! not miss out!!! no eggs = neglect!!! horror!!! put it on your birth plan

mumblemumhome4lunch · 18/03/2009 21:08

Must go eat.....night all

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 21:09

Mumble - carry on as usual. Sex can help move things along if you want that to happen.

Springy - I love my DD too but she is a little whirling bundle of chaos.

Schulte - LoveFilm is great. Well worth a try if you have a voucher. You go online and put down a list of films , tv programmes etc that you would like to watch. You can prioritise them High / Medium / Low. Then they send you a DVD. When you have watched it you put it in the Freepost return envelope and send it back. The moment they receive that one, they send you another from your list.

You never know quite what you are getting but it works really well. They are very quick to send stuff out to you. And because you put a list of films down you get to watch a lot of those ones that you have been meaning to get round to for ages.

My SIL is quite devious - she goes online behind BILs back and prioritises all the films she wants to watch. DH and I tend to allow it to run it's course.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 18/03/2009 21:09

Night Mumble xx

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 21:11

Oh - and sorry to be a LoveFilm bore but forgot the vital bit. You pay a flat rate monthly subscription, rather than a fee per film. So if you are organised and watch things as soon as they arrive and send them back immediately it works out really good value. If you are a little less organised not so good.

mathsmummy27 · 18/03/2009 21:14

evening ladies, nice to hear of Boff's hair, the JOY of small people sleeping through (totally with you ) and Easter babies....

I am back from aqua natal class mmmmmm so relaxed

Schulte · 18/03/2009 21:14

Oh great, thanks for explaining Lulu! I did go to their website but was rather daunted but now I understand how it works, we'll give it a go I think. Although not sure how much time we'll have to watch films once LO has arrived.

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 21:15

Oh - just realised I must go to bed too. If I am asleep by 9:30 and if DD sleeps till 5:30 again then I will get 8 hours sleep. Woooohooooo!

Night night everyone

(Oh and those little mesh things for fruit? I think they are the sort of things that end up cluttering up the same kitchen drawer as the egg slicers)

Schulte · 18/03/2009 21:16

People.... can I just suggest you start eating Easter eggs now? Then you won't miss out and also I won't feel so guilty for already having had some...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 18/03/2009 21:17

Night LuLu xx
