Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

Night Bicnod take it easy xx

AuldAlliance · 18/03/2009 06:55

Morning all!
Hope you all had a good night.

This sleeping on the left side malarky is a nightmare: I woke up every hour in discomfort, and then after 5am in pain. My left hip just isn't made for lying on... Have been up since 6, so 2 hrs now, and am slowly starting to feel the muscle and joint pain fade down my left leg.

DS has just got up and, being Wednesday there's no school, so I may not get on here much today. Amongst other delights like ironing and cleaning, I have to bake 24 chocolate fairy cakes for him to take to school tomorrow to share with his friends for his 4th birthday.

Have a good day...

PuzzleRocks · 18/03/2009 07:19

Good morning

Could someone please tell BoffinMum that I am not talking to her.

Thank you.

Morning

Auld, with DH away I think I ended up mostly on my right side last night. A couple of weeks ago I was really struggling to get comfortable and turfed DD out of her bed (which is much softer) making her share with DH so that I could get comfy in hers. With the aid of plenty of pillows to wrap my leg over I got some good quality sleep there.

Impressed at the fairy cakes - and happy birthday for tomorrow Fils d'Auld.

Uuurgh - DD's birthday is 2 weeks tomorrow. Must put some thought into it.

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 07:25

Hadn't noticed that Boffin had snuck in there after you.

Oh dear. You are still in the joint lead though Puzzle.

BoffinMum · 18/03/2009 07:33

Morning all.

DH is up (! Rare to be up this early on a non-commuting day!) and filling the birthing pool as a trial run and to bank the hot water before the man comes to take the boiler out. Luckily today is one of the days we do in fact have some hot water. I say some, because you have to bang the boiler to get it out in dribs and drabs.

It will be funny because the midwives are coming today anyway, and we will all have to sit round the pool politely drinking our tea and talking about placentas.

BoffinMum · 18/03/2009 07:34

Auld and Lulu, you would think someone had invented the perfect pg bed by now, wouldn't you??

PuzzleRocks · 18/03/2009 07:35

Conker - Sorry to hear about your GD troubles. Hopefully diet changes will be enough to control it, I believe that's all that is required in most cases. Take care.

Nutty - I have these but in acid yellow.

Puzzle those are fabulous (you kinky bitch)

BoffinMum · 18/03/2009 07:55

Even I thought they were fabulous and I am known for my frumpy librarian-type shoes and inability to understand the whole shoe-bag continuum.

PuzzleRocks · 18/03/2009 07:59

Lulu - Guilty as charged. They are so uncomfortable though.

Boff - I have a fondness for clumpy shoes too. I also have these. And I only own two handbags.

Damnit, i'm not supposed to be talking to you!

Schulte · 18/03/2009 08:03

Oh dear. The most exciting shoes I own are a pair of Caterpillars.

BoffinMum · 18/03/2009 08:09

I tend to classify my shoes and bags like this:

SHOES
Colour - black, brown, navy
Style - for skirts, for trousers
Season - Summer, winter, extreme weather conditions

BAGS
Shape - Holds lots, holds little
Quality - For round town, upmarket for work
Style - Classic and quite French/Italian, quirky

That's it. I really don't get the whole shoe and bag thing, so I wonder if I am secretly a man. I never got it when I worked for magazines either, and that was even when I got free stuff.

Juwesm · 18/03/2009 08:12

I got my wedding shoes from this lovely lady. Not really kinky, but I HEART THEM!

BoffinMum · 18/03/2009 08:29

Juwes, I have to say part of me feels the need to be diplomatic about those shoes because you obviously love them so much, and the other part of me stared at them in abject disbelief.

I really have a long way to go on the fancy shoe appreciation front, that is clear.

BabyBolat · 18/03/2009 08:34

I get it!!! I get it!!! Unfortunately so does my bank balance , not so much handbags as I tend to trash them a lot but I spend a lot of money on shoes (my favourites being louboutins and carvella) hence the delay in paying off the wedding ! I also love irregular choice shoes but am not brave enough to pull them off - Juw you will probably like them based on your wedding shoes (incidently I got mine from debenhams for £20 they were officially the cheapest things I purchased and I love them!!!)

Having said that, I do love my jeans and timberlands and am often told off for being like a man by refusing to have a purse and keeping all cards and coins in random pockets!!!

Anyway morning all - feel like crap this morning which is bizarre as had a good nights sleep had some porridge to keep energy levels (as advised by the Boff yesterday) but just feel all urgh!

I don't think it helps that the news is so depressing today - seriously unemployment, mortgages, cancer - I am not someone who likes to live in denial but at the same time do we need to have the same depressing news every single day! There is not one positive news story on the BBC of sky news!

LOL boffin and puzzle

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 08:34

Oh dear - I'm afraid I am a recovering shoe / bag girl. I had a purge recently and took about 30 bags to the charity shop. I only have about 5 left: everyday black leather, everyday brown leather, summer basket and a couple of small evening bags.

Schulte · 18/03/2009 08:36

Oh Ju, I love those. Do you still wear them?

Boff, you forgot the flat/heels thing - I have so many trousers I can only wear with heels and I have never really found a pair of flats that I found comfy, well apart from sneakers and flip flops. God knows how many pairs of ballet flats I have bought, then thrown away because they hurt my feet. What am I doing wrong?

Must admit my favourite shoes at the moment are my wellies anyway... so comfy...

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 08:38

Ju - those shoes are great. I love the Kuni ones in vintage kimono fabric. £290 behyond budget though.

My wedding shoes were silver and diamante and toweringly high and judged by most people to be utterly impractical for wearing all day long but I luuuurve them - and on my wedding day I really didn't feel any pain at all, although subsequent attempts at wearing them have proved agonising. I think I will just use them to decorate my bedroom from now on.

LuLuBai · 18/03/2009 08:39

BB - the news is hideous. I have changed over to channel 5 to let DD watch Pocoyo. Much cheerier.

bronze · 18/03/2009 08:39

I don't do heels so all my shoes are boring. I love the look of the shoes on Jus site but more as a piece of art than anything I could ever wear.
I tend to wear three things, basic brown trainers, pretty non descript. Black leather flipflops or aubergine hunters.

Can you all keep your fingers crossed for me please. Ds1 was up all night with d&v and I really couldn't cope with getting it. I'm still trying to shake this throat/chest thing.

Schulte · 18/03/2009 08:40

If I could I'd go barefoot all the time! Must move to warmer country...

Schulte · 18/03/2009 08:41

Oh Bronze, poor you and DS. Crossing fingers and toes here.

PuzzleRocks · 18/03/2009 08:45

I love Converse flip flops. I live in them in the Summer.

My wedding shoes were electric blue pointy toed silk heels. Only £45 from Debenhams.

I'm more into jeans than anything. Diesel jeans.
