Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

OP posts:

conker, I hope the results put your mind at rest as opposed to making the last few weeks even more difficult for you.

Boffin, you made a good call marrying him - he seems very useful!

Can I be an honourary member of your Quasimodo club? My left leg is completely dead at the moment too I don't even know why

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 21:58

I over-Englished 'honorary'. Whoops.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:02

Puzzle - just roaming the intyweb and saw theese funky arty shoes and thought of you here

Springy - course you can sweety ((hugs)) xx dont stay too long though eh, i mean that in the nicest possible way xx

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:04

Springy - can you get your dh to massage your bum & leg for you, it might bring the feeling back a bit xx

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 22:04

I really don't know what's wrong with it. It was fine all day - I've done tons of nesting & spent most of the day on my feet & not had a problem. Perhaps that's why. But I can't move it without assisting it with my hands & it's really painful at the top when I do. I don't even know if it's pelvic - it feels a bit like I may have a few trapped nerves or something, but it's a total mystery

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:06

sounds a bit like sciatica, no fun (tis why my leg goes dead, the disc presses on the sciatic nerve and either causes pain or deadness)

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 22:09

Gah. It's nearly over. It's nearly over. It's nearly over.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:09

i think you have possibly over done it, do try the bum & leg massage and try (standing straight if you can) moving your hand down your thigh to your knee one side and repeat on the other side it might untrap the nerves a bit do it about x5 each side

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:11

stop if its too painful though and dont push through the pain.

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 22:12

Thanks, will try that. DH is doing some epic man toileting at the moment, so I'll have to wait for him to finish.

& Boffin, I'd still be competing with you on that thread if my computer hadn't died Just whatever you do, don't let Puzzle win!

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 22:16

I am onto it, Springy. I am a woman on a mission.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:21

lol at epic man toileting

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:23

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 22:24

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:25

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:27

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 22:30

Have replied xx

& I have images of Boff running (shocking enough! ) between various desks, scribbling away as she goes, & passing the baton book between them all until reaching a certain point where a publisher whisks it away in glee.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:41

a chapter on each desk perhaps multi tasking at its best

Bicnod · 17/03/2009 22:41

Hi guys - hope you're all ok... sorry haven't checked in for a while and sorry to barge in - just posted conversation and got no responses under pregnancy topic so hoping someone on here can reassure me...

This is what I posted:

I'm 34+1 so not full term yet and have had period type pains over the past couple of days (lasting a few hours at a time). This evening my bump has gone rock hard. Don't think its braxton hicks as not hard for a short time, its been rock hard for an hour or so and still is. And this evening I've been getting shooting pains down there...

...someone tell me this is normal and baby's going to stay put for next few weeks... please!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:45

Hi Bicnod

i would get it checked out to be on the safe side. but on a reassuring note i get shooting pains in my fanjo?! may just be your body preparing?

BH's can be pain free though so you might be getting them and just not know about it hence the rock belly.

have you had a show or anything else to indicate any gearing up??

((hugs)) xx

others will be on soon to post better advice i'm sure xx

Bicnod · 17/03/2009 22:48

hi smutty

nope, not had show or anything... i'm sure i'm just being a worrier about nothing, but haven't had any twinges/pains throughout pregnancy so just a bit weird that its been happening past couple of days...

...glad (?! sorry that sounds mean!!) you get shooting pains too... that's all i wanted to know really, that other people experiencing similar things...

will phone midwife tomorrow if still worrying
...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 22:51

not mean at all good luck, hope it eases for you. Possibly the head engaging and causing pains in your pelvic area where its adjusting too.

Bicnod · 17/03/2009 22:52

thanks smutty going to try and get some sleep and stop worrying... x x

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 22:54

Bicnod, I was admitted to hospital at 34 weeks exactly with regular, painful contractions & I'm still here at 36+3 without any intervention from them. I still get a combination of BH & painful contractions that I can feel shooting down from the top of my bump - both make my bump very hard, sometimes for hours at a time.

I've still not had a show or anything like that & I've got no reason to think that this baby is moving any time soon, despite the contractions. It's worth getting checked out to put your mind at rest (they may do an internal to see if there's any cervical dilation) but there's certainly no reason to worry at this point

Bicnod · 17/03/2009 22:57

thanks springy i remember your trip to hospital... everyone thought you were going to pop! glad little springy is still hanging in there...

i'm feeling less stressed now - it's just nice to talk to some people about it... i'm sure it's just my body gearing up.

will see how things are tomorrow but have MW appointment booked in for friday anyway so hopefully won't feel the need to see anyone before then...
