Kayz - thanks for checking....Fingers crossed all is well and she is just too busy to get online.

Ast - in pretty much all of the cases people who have sickness all the way through seem to be cured the minute the baby and placenta is out. I'm really hoping that will happen for me too.

kayzr · 17/03/2009 09:12

Ooooh I have found some baby boy cake decorations. I was going to make DS1's birthday cake but MIL bought an in the night garden cake so we have to use that.

Astarte · 17/03/2009 09:16

right I have to shift, got tons to do...will check in later for news.
Have a lovely day everyone

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 09:35

Right, Im off to to tidy up kitchen. I've got one of our community MWs coming around today so I've met them all

Might then find a trampoline to bounce on

glaskham · 17/03/2009 09:41

Ast- having 3 seems at home seems a breeze compared to when Ruby was in SCBU. Though saying that she's a brilliant baby- she sleeps in her pram most of the day, is wide awake for an hour or so a few times during the day but thats about it other than feeds, she rarely cries and is very good... the other 2 haven't changed much, just argue a little more than they used to i think!! But they were little monkeys for bickering anyway!!

Kay- just caught up on the old thread..... Re: having a 3rd already- you must be mad!!!!!!?????? I mean fair enough I have 3 and from what i just said it may sound easy, but what if you have sickness?? what if your SPD is there again?? How would you cope with a toddler and a baby? I found it really hard to cope with these 2 while PG and they could almost look after themselves... I know how broody a woman can get- i felt the same after having DD1, but I'm so glad i waited till she was 2yo till i started ttc, i'd have never coped before then!! As for pro's obviously there are tons once the baby arrives, but while pregnant IME its all pants!! haha!!

And Ast- i do agree with the sickness with girls now, but at the same time I did have sickness with DS aswell but not with DD...

Oh Oh Oh.... we bought a Wii the other evening on ebay!!! We had told the DCs we might get one as a family xmas present for the next xmas, But DH has found out his next bonus is guarrenteed now so we decided to get one now, and get the DC's some more games and a wii-fit for xmas between them!! I never thought i'd be happy we were getting a console intending for the kids to be using it, but they have played the one my mum has and they are brilliant at it!!

glaskham · 17/03/2009 09:46

HaHa- just read back all my cons of having a 3rd!! God i'm making it sound like hell!! haha!! Obviously I wouldn't change a thing now, but if i knew just how bad my 3rd PG would be i may have reconsidered before ttc!!

Diege · 17/03/2009 10:16

Morning! Sorry you're still suffering COSMO - I can't imaging how all-consuming sickness for 40 weeks must be Agree that there's no reason to for it to linger once baby is born. Have you got a special meal/treat lined up?
SES. sending good wishes for a speedy recovery for your nephew; sounds very scary
GYO, how did last night go??
Come on babies, we need a new birth story

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 10:32

Morning Diege and Glask

Diege.... Im still pregnant. but its stilll early days on my EDD so you never know. Think I need to think about deploying said prostaglandins elsewhere tonight.

Would certainly avoid the need for late night gaviscon!

Making note re requirement for birth story, will ensure its long and detailed!

how were the F&C Diege, did they give you hearburn?

Cosmogirl · 17/03/2009 10:38

EVERYTHING Diege - shrimp, curry, pate, lobster - I am going to be the size of a house!!

GYo - I admire your patience. Wish I was better at this waiting.

Am very cross with DH this morning as his brother is guilting him into picking his mum up from Heathrow at 4 am tomorrow when I have said all along I don't want him going anyway because he is my only birth partner and lift to the hospital....Very upset Just want to hit him for being such a door mat...grrrrr

Cosmogirl · 17/03/2009 10:40

He can keep his prostagladins and everything else well away from me until I have calmed down.......and breathe....Oh and brother's excuse for why he can't pick her up? He's going to a wine tasting!! Because that takes precedence over the safety of my unborn child!

GruffaloSoldier · 17/03/2009 10:50

Hi all,

ooh my very own syndicate - how exciting

Nothing to report here. had a few twinges last night but nothing since and as far as I can tell no more water leakage. made it to ikea and back which was good.

Have been in bed all morning feelng really ill, my sinuses are playing up big time giving me the worst headache.

We had the plumber here this morning looking at the boiler and he told DH if they couldnt get hold of the part they need for it (been waiting since December for it) then the whole thing wil need to be replaced and that would be 2K news we do not need right now

Ses - sorry to hear about your nephew - I hope he recovers quickly and is better before you know it.

Glask - nice to hear from you - glad that Ruby is doing well. She is a strong little girl

Cosmo/Gyo - sorry that you are still waiting but you are doing so well!keep at it

Hi to all Ive missed but Im itching to go get that syndicate - havent dones stars either, but it may well be too late!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 10:53

Thats rubbish Cosmo, doesnt he get your point of view at all? I'd be really annoyed with DH too. From practical side, how far are you from Heathrow if you went into labour? could be that, if all first labours are as long as everyone says, (!) he'd have time to get back to you before it really got going but it wouldnt be nice to be alone in the middle of the night with contractions.

My DH is always 2hrs away at work... perhaps I should be more concerned about that!

LOL re being patient, I am not at all but I've realised that loooking out for every sign is probably the best way to get a ride straight to the induction suite at the hospital so I'm trying to now think that the maximum time I have left now is two weeks. Anything else is bonus... (remind me of that in 2hrs when Im on here winging.

The good weather is helping me feel perky though I have to say.

glaskham · 17/03/2009 10:55

Oh cosmo- i'd be very too!! i'd pretend to want some kinkyness tonight and handcuff him to the bed, then phone his DB and tell him he'll have to do the airport run instead!!

OMG- i've been on the laptop for nearly 2hrs now!! maybe this is the start of it again!!! Ruby is away with the faries in her pram and i've managed to clear my inbox of all the tat, check my ebay, and have a goosey on here!!

and i've also put a load of washing on and washed the pots in that time too!! I'm getting impressed with my ability to multi-task 10x over!! haha!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 10:55

Morning Gruff, glad you are ok and made it back from Ikea (wonder what Ikea would do re a free gift if you gave birth in store?!)
and still intact. Maybe Grufette is hanging on til your cold is better.. I think nature is cleverer than we think.

Bad news about the boiler though. Such a huge expense that cant be avoided really.

GruffaloSoldier · 17/03/2009 11:03

Hey Gyo - yeah it did cross my mind that I wouldnt mind an ikea freebie

Boiler is PITA, Im still holding out that they somehow manage to find this part. otherwise it might b a very tight few months!

Well done for multi tasking Glask!

Cosmo - sorry about DH but maybe it will tempt fate into bringing labour on and then before you know it your baby will be on your arms and sickness no more!hooray! and DH will have to put his foot down and get there!or else! seriously though, just make sure you give all the 'methods' a good go before its even close to him leaving, that way he will have no choice but to stay

Cosmogirl · 17/03/2009 11:03

Thanks ladies It just really wound me up because he's just sprung in on us as if we agreed to do the pick up which we never did agree to...Heathrow is about 2 and a half hours away, but then there is the waiting time, traffic etc... and if anything started after he had just set off that could be 4 plus hours worst case scenario....

Glask - very impressed at the multi-tasking. You go girl!

Gruff - morning. Glad to hear things ok but ouch on the headache and sinus probs - sounds horrid.

Right, am off to the supermarket and to hoover my car

glaskham · 17/03/2009 11:11

And i'm off to sort out some ironing before i need to collect DS from nursery. Have just been browsing premmy baby clothing websites... and am so tempted to buy some bits, but last week i bought some prem stuff and its arrived and its enormous, almost the same size as her newborn, so is a waste of money!! And i just spent a fortune on some tiny sleepsuits for her from next at the weekend too, so she doesn't need any more tiny clothing really... I'm just looking for any excuse to buy some more things!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 11:12

I like Glask's suggestion of handcuffs!

Am planning to weigh myself later for first time since getting pregnant...

Am i the only weirdo who hasnt wanted to know what wt they put on?

Astarte · 17/03/2009 11:18

Cosmo that's ridiculously selfish of your bil.

Would your Dh ring him and say "yes that's fine but if baby starts to arrive then I won't be going, so have a planB just in case". That way if things do kick off you could ring him and he could turn around and come straight back to you.

Fuck whoever needs picking up! (sorry)

OP posts:
Astarte · 17/03/2009 11:19

DON'T DO IT GYo!!!!

That way madness lies, trust me. Don't even think about weighing yourself until at least 4 weeks post birth.

OP posts:
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 11:26

You are right, Astarte! which is why I've not weighed myself since before getting preg....

I was planning to close my eyes, get DH to write it down for me. THen do it again post birth to see diff (writing down method) and the waiting til much later to look at it.

Im really curious to see how much gets lost in birth process...probably not as much as I'd like to think!

GruffaloSoldier · 17/03/2009 11:26

I weighed myself a couple of weeks ago - have put on a stone. Not too bad I thought? Anyway it depends on you - if you're likely to get upset dont do it. But i am pretty indifferent to weight to be honest!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/03/2009 11:27

ok... sounds that makes me sound like I should be sectioned.....

GruffaloSoldier · 17/03/2009 11:32

yep the men in white coats are coming for you GYo
