sorkycakey · 06/04/2009 16:56

when I was pg with Dd1 only Mothercare sold maternity clothes up here and they only did a size 10

It seems much better now, well..if Diege's shopping is anything to go by hehe x

sorkycakey · 06/04/2009 16:58

It's Dh's birthday today and I'm cooking a roast chicken, I'm drooling at the smell filling my kitchen

idreamofbeanie · 06/04/2009 16:59

Diege - 7 pairs of maternity jeans ! I hate shopping and don't have that many pairs of non-maternity trousers. Of course it's less fun as a size 16/18 which is my own fault for eating my way through my PhD . Luckily I don't need any maternity clothes yet but I suppose I'll have to start looking soon. Any tips for very cheap online maternity shopping.

Thanks for all the positive HB messages and stories BTW.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 06/04/2009 17:04

Ooh - sounds yummy Sorky! Lucky DH!

Diege · 06/04/2009 17:11

I also assumed for some reason that you were tall MOOSY
IDOB, I may have 7 pairs but only one of those that I feel comfy in . Have 'graduated' through under the bump-ers to faithful old over the bump styles, and my most recent (just despatched) pair is an the bump indigo wash bootleg style from funmum. My seraphine ones have been sadly put aside... Didn't realise you had a PhD too - bet mine has a more boring title than yours
KAYZ, I though the 'ruling' now was 6 months for weaning?? (not that I kept to that).
Right, must go and change all the beds - my least fave job in the world after washing kitchen floor !

sorkycakey · 06/04/2009 17:13

Crikey Ses! When did you get to 34 weeks?

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 06/04/2009 17:16

Ooo... 35 actually now Sorky...

It is sort of sneaking up on me but trying to persaude myself that I should expect a first one to be late so I've got loads of time!!

Must update the list!

GruffaloSoldier · 06/04/2009 18:02

Hi all,

Had a busy day today - ended up with lots of painful BH!

Lol Sorky, not sure if I'll have had baby by the end of this thread but you never know. Our boiler should be sorted by the end of the week so once that is done then its all good

Re maternity jeans I got some great ones in New Look called Hula. they come in three different lengths and they are £12. They have lasted really well, still look good and I managed with the one pair. Have washed them so many times a week and they still look fine. They are under the bump ones too. Next pregnancy I would def buy a couple more and just have them. I find them so comfy!

It has been another glorious day here. We went out to this great pond with a beach and it was lovely. Been into town aswell. Really lovely being at home with DH and knowing we can spend lots of time together before baby is born.

Hope you have enjoyed your first day of maternity leave Ses. Sorry to hear your dog is unwell. I have forgotten everything else but hi to everyone else!

Diege · 06/04/2009 18:25

Hi GRUFF! Sounds like you had a great day - has the rain arrived where you are yet?
Dh back so off soon, but must check out those Hula jeans first...

GruffaloSoldier · 06/04/2009 18:28

LOL Diege! Have a look for promotional codes as sometimes they do free delivery with them

Rain not here yet, think its hitting us later on tonight! As long as it stays mild (no heating) I dont mind!

Claire236 · 06/04/2009 18:32

Am feeling rough today as I've been getting period type pains which are worse at night & have now woken me up every night for almost a week. They're the same pains I got when I was pregnant with ds so I'm not worried about them but I'm in need of a decent nights sleep.

Diege - I now feel better about having ordered 3 pairs of mat jeans when I'm only 5 weeks gone.

Hope you manage a decent night soon CLAIRE - remember those cramps well!OMG GRUFF you must be a mind reader...was just thinking about looking for promotional codes to get free p&p. Can't believe how many different styles they have - and so cheap!!! Also fancy the (tacky) made in Wales t-shirt - would be fun wearing for work (Wales) although technically he was 'made in England'

GruffaloSoldier · 06/04/2009 19:22

LOL Diege! I have a t-shirt from there saying BUMP in big letters. I always thought it should say 'no kidding' in brackets as it is unmissable Their maternity hoodies are really comfy too

sorry to hear of period type pains and lack of sleep Claire. It sounds like me in early pregnancy but also my life NOW! I get cramps throughout the night and wake up constanttly so uncomfortable.

Starshinetiger · 06/04/2009 20:12

Have just read through, but can't remember much - duh, baby brain!
Glask - if you're reading, sorry to hear about Ruby and formula, but I'm sure one bottle for just a short time won't harm - hopefully give her the calories she needs to build up and be able to feed better from you. Charlotte has only put on 2 ozs in 3 weeks (i.e. from birth weight to now, but was in intensive care for 10 of those days) - we have started giving her (last night) a bottle of my expressed milk (expressed while she was in ic) in the evening to help - HV said this should help her, as it's easier to take from bottle and will help her to grow and have strength to bf, so I know a bit what you're going through. If you lived close, I could give you some of my expressed milk (have a stash) - if you don't think that's too weird - but think you are up north, no?
Re. homebirths - just want to say that while I really wanted homebirth this time round and as fate would have it didn't, which was the right thing as it turns out, my hospital experience wasn't that bad (for the birth). Both times, I have only seen midwives, have had a water birth and for neither birth did I have to be lying on a bed - they tried first time round, but I said it wasn't comfy, so they didn't try again - this time was on hands and knees on mats next to pool, sucking g&a before i got in pool. So, while I totally agree with homebirths, it doesn't have to be all hospitally at hospital, iykwim.
right, gotta go, dd struggling with wind, in my arms.
night all.
Oh, congrats cosmo - sounds like all gone wonderfully and glad u r feeling better

GruffaloSoldier · 06/04/2009 22:24

Hi

just had to tell you that I have just realised that the song that I have had in my head all night is 'Look out for Mr Stork' from Dumbo so maybe tonight could be the night!

...and elephants might fly!!! Ha I'm so funny

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 06/04/2009 22:41

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 07/04/2009 08:57

morning

dd1 is still poorly mostly coughing we r missing her swimming lesson just relaxing in today.

bracken is in 3-6 month outfits now and 6-9 month vests.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 07/04/2009 09:19

Morning

tink - glad ikea was good but shame about DD1's cough

Gruff - spooky about that song! Hope all is well this morning?!

Star - really good to hear from you

Claire - (sorry, don't think I've said hello properly, how rude! ) Hope you had a better night's sleep and the pains calm down soon.

LBOT - hope things are better with you today?

I'm off to get my hair done today - highlights, cut and blow dry. Feels v much like another thing to have crossed off the list to have done before baby arrives!

Lucy (dog) is definitely better than she was yesterday but still not 100%. Hope she'll keep improving today otherwise I'll take her to the vet this afternoon.

GruffaloSoldier · 07/04/2009 09:49

Morning Ses, glad dog seems to be on the mend!

All is normal here - no signs of baby coming yet - phew!

DH has gone out this morning so Im going to chill out.

sorkycakey · 07/04/2009 09:55

Dd2 slept all the night last night
I fed her at 9pm (a good feed) and I woke at 3am with milk but she didn't. I tried to gently rouse her but she was flat out.
She woke at 6.45am and fed well, then snoozed again until 9.30 when she's just fed and promptly gone back to sleep, the little stinker

I'm willing to bet it doesn't last.

Morning all....

KinderEggKayzr · 07/04/2009 10:05

Morning,

Yay for sleep Sorky!!! Lets hope it continues.

Ses, glad your dog is getting better.

I am having an 'I can't be arsed day today'. Not even sure why.

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 07/04/2009 10:24

hi

ses - ye for having hair done and glad lucy is getting better
gruff - glad all well with u
kay - know what u mean.

i have just been cleaning and tidying up now dh back @ work!!
both dds r watching a baby dvd

Diege · 07/04/2009 10:45

Morning! Am slowly realising that trying to mark students work while having 3 screaming dds demanding attention does NOT work...It's me and dh's wedding anniversary today, so he's off so we can go out somewhere nice for lunch. He also wanted to keep dd3 off nursery, but has now gone back to bed leaving me to work while copoing with all 3
Glad dog is improving SES - it's a worry when they're ill (not least because of vet's bills
Wow SORKY great news about dd2 sleeping through!! You never know, she may be one of thise babies that you hear about!
KAYZ, GRUFF, take it easy both of you. Enjoy these last few days GRUFF, and KAYZ give in to the not being arsed thing, tis the only way sometimes..
Right, may go and casually dump a pile of washing on dh's head

KinderEggKayzr · 07/04/2009 10:46

Diege, go pour some water on his head or pay the DDs to jump on him!!!

Diege · 07/04/2009 10:46

Meant to say TINKS you sounhd very organised there! It's amazing how the older ones geta new found interest in 'baby' videos when they get a new sibling!
