ooh ooh fi and rosie I was also at DJCA in 1993! Did architecture and met DH there....he's an architect now (I'm not) although I am self-employed now as a property developer. Currently building houses in Crail, Fife (near to St Andrews) if anyone is looking for a house! How bizarre.

Quick Question about Elective CS, im due on 16th, what dae do we think is likely for the CS? Im worrying again now as DS as week early!

rosielady · 08/03/2009 21:10

Frazzle how bizarre indeed! I met my DH at DJCA also - he is a partner in Graphic Design co in Glasgow. I wonder if we know each other? We are often in Dundee as DH is from there and his mum is still there. Interested in knowing more about your Crail houses as currently fantasizing about a Grand Design type project sometime in the future......

...may have come across your DH also as I am always working with architects in my job.

FiKelly · 08/03/2009 21:11

Momino actually i'm a bit concerned about my boob size as i've been wearing the post ds nursing bras for some time already and they are the maximum cup size made!!! if i expand in the boob department any more i'll need custom made to order nursing bras i've found somewhere that can do this just in case but really hoping to not need to as i expect it'll be v expensive?!

Frazzle & rosie what a small world indeed! I have to admit i have changed a fair bit from those days... so don't worry if you didn't recognise me

OP posts:
llareggub · 08/03/2009 21:13

bekkaboo I've been told by my consultant that my c-section will most likely be at 38 weeks or 39 weeks. In my case it will be the 27 April or 4 May because the consultant who did my fertility treatment with DS1 has promised to do carry out the c-section for me. He has operated on me twice before, I trust him and was devastated when he couldn't be my consultant this time! He only operates on a Monday so I know the date already.

My MW told me they like to do c-sections at 38 weeks if they are elective. I guess it might be different where you are. I've also got gestational diabetes so they definitely won't let me go over 40 weeks.

FiKelly · 08/03/2009 21:14

bekkaboo if you're thinking of an elective cs they tend to do them earlier than your due date... can't quite remember but have a feeling it was at either 38 or 39 wks...

BTW just uploaded some pics of me while pregnant with ds in 2006 (not so flattering ones though).... I look quite different in shape...

Has anyone packed bags yet? i did this afternoon but only coz its all stuff esp for hospital that wont need before then

llareggub · 08/03/2009 21:17

No bag packed yet but I've bought a few bits for it. I really need to start expressing though!

FiKelly · 08/03/2009 21:18

for any DJCA's who are on facebook... there is a DJCA group... if you're trying to get in touch with old class mates etc. Also there's the dundee re-united website...

Fikelly

In 2006 with my DS I was def football this time it starts from boobs and almost feels like she's sitting on my knee already iyswim? i think its reasonable to say same size this time but def more uncomfortable

FiKelly · 08/03/2009 21:20

no hospital bag packed yet but i do have pretty much everything grouped in neat piles as of yesterday... for my labour and post birth bag (except snacks/drinks), baby bag almost done... just working on DS's overnight and toys/activity bag now...

flippineck · 08/03/2009 21:25

Hello! What a lovely new thread, good title and so busy already!

No packing of bags here yet, I suppose I ought to think about it soon but for some reason I'm still convinced it's ages off...until I realise I'm into single figures of weeks now !

I'm shattered this evening and DH has only been away 36 hours! I am impressed with myself though, I've started making food for the freezer, DD helped me make a vat of veg chilli this morning, so we had some for tea tonight and the rest is in the freezer.

Who was it on the old thread complaining about H&M sizing? I bought a new pair of jeans (vast over the bump style, hopefully they won't fall down!) but I had to buy an 18 - I'm normally an easy 12. Bizarre sizing, I've put on weight - obviously - but that much difference? Bonkers! They're nice jeans though, straight leg, nice colour denim, not too fashionable (iykwim).

pulapula · 08/03/2009 21:25

Hi Bekkaboo,

My last elective cs was at 39 weeks and i expect it to be at 39+1 this time (my due date is a Monday but as they do a pre-op the day before cs, then looks like my pre-op would be on a Monday, and cs on the Tuesday). Looking at my diary the 16th is a Sat, so i'm guessing you will be booked in for some time in w/c 4 May? I am booked to see my consultant at 36 weeks- i will get my date for sure then. Are you booked to go back in sometime soon?

frazzledoldbag · 08/03/2009 21:28

rosie maybe I do know (or know of) you? How mysterious! If you want a nosy at my houses they are on the ESPC website and the ref no is 272707 and there is a link there to the schedule too. There should also be a link to my website but it's not live yet (although will be soon, have had a strop with the website designer as she was hopeless!) The development address is Temple Neuk, Crail. The first house is almost completed so I'll be running ads in the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday in about 2 wks time and hopefully will get 1st one sold so can crack on with the other 2! Would really like one sold before this baby comes along so the pressure is really on now. Blimmin' credit crunch eh?

bekkaboo · 08/03/2009 21:30

its soo exciting now!! although i do keep thinking what if she is a he? everything is pink and he will look a teeny bit gay / odd on the pics but think its unlikely isnt girls?!?!?

I also need to do a bag for DS, ordered a few dvd's for whilst he's at his nan and pops, any other ideas of things to keep him occupied?

frazzledoldbag · 08/03/2009 21:31

oh and hospital bags? what hospital bags? God knows when I'll get mine done, probably once I'm in labour.....although I am doing nesting it's mainly home-related not baby-related yet [feels secure in the knowledge that baby isn't due for another 10 wks ish] - although a friend keeps on dreaming that I'm going to have an early c-section with this one. If she's right I hope it isn't toooo early - too much to do! Oh dear I feel so disorganised compared to you lot.

frazzledoldbag · 08/03/2009 21:34

and a quick random question - if I use my electric breast pump for a few days prior to my due date (assuming I'm not early) will this stimulate the colostrum production and make my milk come in more quickly? Or is this a stupid question? Am embarrassed to ask this as it's something I feel I should know the answer to but I don't and haven't ever thought of it before.....I just hate those first few days of no milk and hungry baby screaming and chewing my nips (ouch) so wondered if this might help?
[thicko emoticon]

FiKelly · 08/03/2009 21:35

bekkaboo i'm going for a couple of new story/picture books, some sticker books, maybe a new small puzzle or something to build/put together like the oddbodz... but not sure if i can get away with those as they're supposed to be for aged 3 & over and ds will only be 2 and 3/4's

OP posts:
bekkaboo · 08/03/2009 21:35

Papula thats what I thought but so wish it could be 38 and a bit weeks, the thought of labour again terrifies me! Yep booked in with consultant at 34 weeks and he said will give me a date then, apparently the op i scheduled like buses.. one at 9.15 and 10.45 then thats it for planned for day !!

Hi, I've been lurking, not posting for months now, but wanted my name back on the list! I'm with all those with the energy/crashing thing going on. After a hyper-active phase in the second trimester, I'm finding this one a lot more hard-going, and get frustrated, too, at being so lead-limbed all the time. But we cleared a big patch of overgrown garden this morning, and I sorted through all the baby clothes in the loft. I've probably got enough, but suddenly realised that enough though I don't buy 'girly' clothes for DD, not many of the 6months+ ones are great for boys. It will be expensive if we have a boy! Any of you third-timers been dressing your boys like girls?
Also, Braxton-Hicking like crazy.

FiKelly · 08/03/2009 21:36

frazzledoldbag good question.... i actually have no idea at all!

OP posts:
frazzledoldbag · 08/03/2009 21:38

oh bekka yes you're right of course, must get pressies sorted for the kids from the baby. Very important! Thanks for reminding me....I'd say DVD's, duplo/lego, or jigsaws (do boys do jigsaws I don't know?, colouring in, sweeties as a treat?) I'd put lots of treats and his fave things in to soften the blow of being ousted by the new baby.

bekkaboo · 08/03/2009 21:38

gosh what are oddbodz? think ill do the same sort of things but knowing my mum she will have it all covered. Its sounds silly but I want to do it all myself, makes me know ive packed him off as a mum should

ps never used these faces before so thought is try them out
