lol blotted, a moustachiod lady garden - well its different, I'm sure there is prob a name for that "style" in Hollywood.

I considered a trim and edge today but was scared about the strimmer tool when I can't see - didn't fancy severing anything... Am going to book in for a wax in next couple of weeks, plus pedicure, manciure all in readiness for d day. Mind you I was disappointed when no one commented on my well kempt foomanchu during my last birth

detsy · 22/03/2009 21:26

Very proud of my DP who has shopped for and catered for my family today - 6 of us and he did a lovely stew with veg and bread and crepes with fruit and ice cream - yummy

detsy · 22/03/2009 21:35

What about Push, Push Push, DON'T PUSH DON'T PUSH PANT PANT PANT...Push, push, push

SpangleMaker · 22/03/2009 21:50

Hope y'all had a lovely Mother's Day.

detsy very impressed at your DP. My DH is gradually becoming more helpful around the house but cooking isn't his thing... eg the other day he brought home some Tesco Finest Thai chicken thing that took 5 min in the microwave - and then, after he'd cooked it, remembered we might want some rice too... bless, he is trying though!

Re ladygardens, never been brave enough for a professional job. Pre bump I did it myself with the old immac strips but I can't be bothered any more So long as they can tell which is me & which is the baby's head

Looby sorry to hear about your GD. Hope your appointment goes well. It was pretty lax of them to leave you waiting for 2 weeks, but great that you can get some good advice on here in the meantime.

pula love the pic I do wish we'd gone for one now but at over 34 weeks it's probably too late - and not too long now before we meet him in RL

One more week left at work - yay! I just can't wait to finish and start focussing on baby things full time

llareggub · 22/03/2009 21:52

I've never, er, done anything down there! I've never felt the need as I've never been particularly hairy. I think pregnancy must have changed things however, because a combination of these discussions and excessive hair growth has left me pondering a late entry to topiary methods. Really not brave enough for a professional job....

SpangleMaker · 22/03/2009 21:55

What about 'We're on the home straight - don't push yet, PANT PANT PANT!'

detsy · 22/03/2009 21:57

Spangle
Text me your address and I'll send you the cds if you still want to try them!
LOL about you and baby's head

PUla yup sorry forgot to say - what a cutie little bean, he looks ace and very squidgy - its very exciting to see these real little people that squirm about in our tummies.

DP away Monday so will be watching sperm race - looks v good.

Ordered new engagement ring and should have it ready before Pip is here - hope so. Bit worried about wearing it tho with current pgncy brain which loses important things on a v regular basis.

SpangleMaker · 22/03/2009 21:58

We need Belgian to reassure us there are plenty of hairy marys in the delivery room

SpangleMaker · 22/03/2009 22:00

detsy oh yes please, if it's not too much trouble I'll text you my address.

I meant to ask about your engagement ring. What did the insurance woman do? did she have a look herself?!

detsy · 22/03/2009 22:01

Oh I'm sure there are and lots worse besides. AT my hospital there are quite a few less than, erm how shall I say, clean looking prgnt people, don't know how midwives cope with great unwashed (yuk, smelly)

detsy · 22/03/2009 22:06

No she didn't look herself she just asked a lot of questions about dates re when we got engaged etc - which was quite funny as I said last christmas which was obv wrong as it was christmas before - and then she was confused as to why I'd had a ring for so long before being actually engaged. However they have paid the full amount and a new sparkly is being made at the moment

Lost my secure id tag for log on to our LAN last week as well. Ordered a new one with great difficulty as they come from USA with mega security issues and then found the bloody thing tonight under dining table.

No prob about cds I have to go to post office tomo to post some ebay stuff so will do hypno at same time

detsy · 22/03/2009 22:08

llare I'd def go for a professional job - make sure its double hot wax though as its far less yowzy than standard cotton strips!

SpangleMaker · 22/03/2009 22:12

Thanks, that's great! Just sent you a text. There's a girl at my AN class who thought it was so good for her first birth she's been training as a hypnotherapist. Worth giving a go I reckon!

detsy · 22/03/2009 22:13

I think it works too - just got to find phone now.....

LoobyLou36 · 23/03/2009 08:21

lol at lady garden moustache blotted

not brave enough to get waxed - have never had it done before

I just wacked some immac on last week - think it's fairly tidy.

actually managed to shave my legs yesterday (first time in w few weeks and painted my toe nails, took a while tho

listened to the first part of hypnobirthing cd last night (the relaxation bit) must admit I'm a big sceptic when it comes to things like this. However I have to say it was very relaxing. Trouble was my DH came to bed just as I was dozing off quietly, he was tiddled and proceeded to snore all night - despite punches!

He doesn't feel very well this morning - I told him that I didn't either - having had hardly any sleep. Also told him that I've had enough of his drinking and if he continued he could go sleep in the spare room for the remainder of this pg!

Sorry - rant over

LoobyLou36 · 23/03/2009 08:24

DH has just sent me a text saying "miserable git!" so I sent one back saying "pisshead!" unfortunately I almost sent it to MIL who is next to him in phone book
I hope to god I managed to stop it in time! she already thinks he has a drink problem

Belgianchocolates · 23/03/2009 09:42

Morning everyone,

re hairy and smelly ladies: well as mw we see everything. I've never had trouble distinguishing between baby and mummy, so don't worry Mostly I think people come in slightly trimmed, but not bald or overly hairy. We do have ladies coming in that aren't the cleanest and to those we suggest that a lovely warm bath might make them feel a bit better, generally the minute they enter the ward . Don't worry if your mw suggests a bath, because it is a good thing to have in early labour, but if your mw keeps insisting on trying a bath she might be trying to tell you something .

I've got a new wardrobe coming this am for my ds. That way I can finally empty his chest of drawers and give lo's stuff a proper place, rather than it all living in bags. Looking forward to that. DH keeps saying that giving into me about that wardrobe was a mistake, but I'm very happy about it. It satisfies my nesting

Oh how about: Due May 09 Hairy mary!... We're on the final stretch!

Momino · 23/03/2009 10:36

Belgian, v funny title !

MIL here today so girls out, dog cooped up in lounge, damp-proofers drilling downstairs. this house is going to be a mess for the next 2 weeks at least. but it's all for the good: getting damp walls fixed/plastered (been crumbling since we moved in 4 yrs ago) then new kitchen in next week. it will be so nice as we should have done all this a couple of years ago.

all the lady garden talk, i'm usually slightly trimmed but now am a bit self conscious. i'll take Beligian's advice on bathing before going to the hosp. what's immac?

Belgianchocolates · 23/03/2009 10:47

Immac is a hair removal cream.

Anyway off to Ikea now. Hurray, get the inside of the wardrobes sorted!

1stMrsF · 23/03/2009 10:55

My goodness, I am horrified to see that I've missed almost a whole thread, however, can see that it's only taken you chatty ladies 2 weeks to fill it, so it's not quite as bad a I thought.

Sorry, too much chat to catch up, so I hope that everyone is well. I haven't been on the web much as had family to stay for past couple of weeks - final visitors have just left this morning and I am revelling in the quietness of the house!

My twins are fine and growing well - I do now look like I'm having twins; every time I go into a shop or in fact anywhere, I can guarentee a 'you can't have long to go' comment from someone. Then I tell them 6 weeks and enjoy the look of horror on their faces sometimes I put them out of their misery by explaining it's twins, but now always LOL!

I like Spangle's thread title.

LoobyLou36 · 23/03/2009 11:55

belgian funny thread title!

Blottedcopybook · 23/03/2009 15:10

I was at Ikea yesterday and could have killed someone. It was the fourth time I had been down to collect a toybox frame and they didn't have it in stock, plus they kept me waiting for an hour for a refund because I didn't have the receipt, despite the item being faulty. Ugh!

Belgianchocolates · 23/03/2009 15:16

As we're on post 998 at the momet I thought I'd take it upon myself to start the new thread. It'shere.
