Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuLuBai · 03/03/2009 16:31

BB - I'm drinking 2 a day at the moment. 1 mid morning, one mid afternoon. Will work up to 4. But I also enjoy my chamomile teas and don't want to have to give them up in favour of RLT.

I think last time I started 4 or 5 weeks before due date and built up to 4 cups a day. It certainly didn't bring on early labour or anything. DD was plenty late! But maybe it did help strengthen my cervix. Who knows.

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:31

I'm at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital - the Jessop Wing is the maternity bit.

& frekkles, you put far too much effort into that cheer for my cervix Excellent buddying there

How are you feeling now?

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:32

Should I be on the RLT? I appear to be the only person not drinking it!

I would have thought they would be happy to book you for elective CS, Springy, if the likely alternative is protracted period of pushing (mmmm, alliteration) and then emergency section. Elective, planned, calm must work out cheaper for the NHS, and, sadly, this is often a big plus! Probably fewer bed days etc. My hosp seems to hand out the caesars like sweets!

Really must find my cervix.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 16:32

wow. that post was a little heavy on the emoticons!

BoffinMum · 03/03/2009 16:33

I am not squeamish normally, but I made it to day 3 on that thread and then

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:33

Giggle I like the cheer

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:35

I found the thread highly interesting...I cannot say I'd ever do the same for all to see... But It was interesting

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:35

Never mind, I read it:

"I re-used a plastic speculum and macro function of normal digital camera (and a very talented boyfriend with a headlamp)"

Even my DH isn't that dedicated to these things & he offers to apply pile cream & everything...

LuLuBai · 03/03/2009 16:35

Brilliant cheer Frekkles.

I am so not going near that cervix thread. DD is playing sweetly next to me as I type. Don't wanna give the kid nightmares or anything.

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:36

How often am I supposed to be seeing the MW now ( I'm 36ish weeks)? I went in today to make an appointment and the next one was not until the 19th! which is 2 weeks before I'm due...

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:38

If you're not having any problems, Bleu, that's right - (late pregnancy) appointments should be at 31, 34, 36, 38, 40 & 41 weeks.

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:38

Macro function got all the way up there? WOW! I'd never had guessed.

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:39

ok..back home I'd be on once a week so I was worrying a bit.

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:39

OMG! That thread! I'm not religious, but I'm going to have to go and say some Hail Marys or something to cleanse myself. WHY? Strong stringy mucus!!!!! Vigorous intercourse!!!!!

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:40

Bleu - I saw MW today at 36, and she booked me another (30 minute!) appt for next week as I asked if we could go through my birth plan.

frostyfrekkles · 03/03/2009 16:41

i'm staying well away from the raspberry leaf tea until march is done, far too much to do before then. cervix love abounds for those choosing stay shut until asked to open quickly and painlessly, i'm going to talk nicely to mine every day that it obeys. those photos are amazing, it really does look donuty doesn't it?

I'm ok thanks honey springy. i'm feeling a bit fragile emotionally but am keeping myself busy x

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:42

Tony Robinson on telly talking about 'measuring depth of hole', after looking at those pictures.....ROFL

540+ posts in 24 hours - look what happens when a few people start on their ML!

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:43

Definitely a jam doughnut.

Too far???????

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:43

Don't be keeping yourself too busy, frekkles - make sure you have plenty of time just sitting & keeping your feet up. I don't want you hauling any heavy boxes around or anything like that.

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:43

Must grow up before acquiring child of own.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 16:43

surely ours is a bigger group than most? i'm going to do some snooping detective work

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:45

Hmmm I have not been able to go through any birthplans yet to be honest... was supposed to talk to MW about it all last week, but the MW I got didn't know that was 'on the books' so hadn't made time to do it/ didn't bring any info on birthing options and had a clinical across town 45 minutes after my appointment started (which gave us 25 min at the most to get through the 'typical' appointment)... I've another appointment at the clinic this week (which I made today)and supposedly someone's going to see me on Fri to do a birthplan...but it wasn't written down when I went into the surgery so I'd actually know if it's going to happen...

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:46

Juw, don't grow up! You'll have to read our posts in disgust if you do & that won't be fun for anyone!

LuLuBai · 03/03/2009 16:47

Purple - perhaps July was rather a rampant month...?
