btw I recovered quicker from my section than I did my naturals if thats any reassurance. I didn't have anew baby to look after though so that might have helped but as long as you DH is hands on and waits on you hand and foot to start you should be fine

BabyBolat · 03/03/2009 16:20

Can I just point out it has been less than one day and we are half way through a thread already - this will be a new record (I reckon 1.5 days!!! even I am struggling to keep up!

Just got back from mw - she was lovely and 'efficient' no flapping around (although somehow my appointment was still 40 mins late....)

Anyway am 4/5 engaged babies heart rate is ok but accelerating quite dramatically when he or she moves around (by over 50%) which she wasn't worried about but wanted noted down 'just in case' and all is normal - she also said if I go past the 6th April she will give me a mat form to get the money (although extra week of pregnancy is not worth £180!!!)

Springy, can you talk to you mw about an elective CS - they do do them on NHS for medical reasons and if you say you want a natural birth but if in 3 weeks worth of monitoring nothing has changed you can book in then? I know its not ideal but neither is 6 more weeks of contractions!!!

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:20

AAAAaaaK! so many messages to catch up on!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 16:21

hey have you guys seen the cervis thread? there are pictures!!

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 16:21

I'm going now so that I can sort the flat out and go and collect DD. Typical that it's raining and I'm going to get my favourite maternity trousers wet(favourite=only ones that still fit). At least I'll be able to have snuggles soon. Am still hoping and praying that she doesn't erupt in chickenpox. I'm so annoyed that nursery didn't tell us how many cases they had until we picked DD up, not when we dropped her off. Chickenpox+neonate=serious complications apparently

BabyBolat · 03/03/2009 16:21

Do not even try Bleu, just start from now!!

BoffinMum · 03/03/2009 16:22

I am also in charge of tumble dryer maintenance and dishwasher maintenance, although he does put the salt in.

Rubbish bins and recycling a blue job - involves lots of categorisation, like the colour coding for the laundry.

Shoe cleaning pink job, for some reason.

Ironing shared pink/blue.

Dusting/ Hoovering pink job, 4 x annually blue.

Toilet cleaning pink job, 4 x annually blue.

bronze · 03/03/2009 16:22

No but I think I know of the site that would be mentioned.

Swaliswan · 03/03/2009 16:23

Can you link to it purplemonkey?

I am going now, I promise.

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:23

Ooh, glad you mentioned that BB. I wondered if we could get the cash if actual date comes in 6th or later but forgot to ask.

Out of interest, what would be your price for extra week of pregnancy? I think a month's mortgage payment would make me happy, though 3 months would be better.

bronze · 03/03/2009 16:23

reference pics of cervices

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:24

I know that you can have a planned CS on the NHS for concrete medical reasons (Barbarella, for example! - I hope she's not too down today ), but I'm not sure how 'concrete' my reasons are given that family history is anecdotal & nobody seemed to be paying attention on Saturday & lost my trace, etc.

As for the consultant, I have no idea who that is. I've never seen a doctor (apart from my GP & a couple of on-calls at the weekend) throughout the whole pregnancy so don't know how to go about a serious discussion on this...

BabyBolat · 03/03/2009 16:25

Oh and springy, on the subject of your cervix, mine just feels like a fleshy pad (if I have the right thing) protruding down but no openings or head like feelings!!!

LuLu how many RLT should I be drinking now (3.5 weeks to go), had 2 yesterday and 1 so far today should I be upping the ante as it were?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 16:25

cervix thread the link is right at the beginning.

BabyBolat · 03/03/2009 16:26

Springy, phone your MW now and ask her to organise one for you.

Jue, at least a month but probably more...

Bleuravin · 03/03/2009 16:27

What in the world have you been talking about? (Don't tell me sex as I'm starving for it but don't feel well enough...so have pity and make something up if it was sex)

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:27

BB, it's £190 - does that help?

Bleu, stay here, don't worry about catching up! The thread's moving too quickly at the moment for you to ever finish, I think!

Swaliswan, sounds a bit sloppy on the nursery's part! Hope DD's avoided it!

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 16:27

All appliance maintenance = blue job.

Bins = blue job, though pink helps.

Loading dishwasher - blue job, but pink does it better.

Dishwasher salt and the like - mostly blue but pink can do.

Hoovering = pink, class it as form of exercise

Cleaning bathroom - generally pink

Cleaning kitchen - generally blue

Cooking - pink, unless pink refuses due to crap day at work.

All things automotive = blue

Ironing - blue does his shirts, pink does her work tunics!

Giving advice on how to do everything better than the way it is currently being done - pink job.

BabyBolat · 03/03/2009 16:28

I almost vommed in my mouth - that was truly disgusting!!!

BabyBolat · 03/03/2009 16:28

The cervix thread!!

SpringySunshine · 03/03/2009 16:29

Bleu, we've mostly been talking about cervixes & general physical preparation for birth. It's not been a very sexy thread - the most smutty it's been recently has been about cucumbers, so you're not really at risk of increased horn levels

BoffinMum · 03/03/2009 16:29

Springy, just confirm what hospital you are registered with and I will see if I can find someone for you to be referred to.

frostyfrekkles · 03/03/2009 16:29

i agree with bronze on feeling a bit sorry for springy's cervix. i think we should all support and encourage in it's efforts to stay shut just now regardless of restless womb. I'm going to get my pom poms out and give us a s

How do you photograph up there?!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/03/2009 16:31

BTW - Boffin - really i'm nothing to be afraid of, like bears, i'm more scared of you than you are of me!

went and ordered new wheels for the buggy and a new mattress for the cot today. My first baby purchase!

re blue/pink jobs: DH starts out well. When we had a new floor layed he said he's mop it every weekend. he said he's hoover our room every weekend

he does try but as i'm unable to do alot in the house due to SPD the house is looking more manky than usual. (though he would say it looks the same.)
