ROFL @ weeble. Ha ha hahaaaa

OK - so that midwife's foot theory seems to be utter crap.

(My feet have actually got smaller since having DD. Wierd. I used to wear up to a size 7 and now often find myself buying a 6.)

Right - I really must log off and get on with my day.

Toodlepip.

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 10:10

Right. Shower and perineum.

gingersarah · 03/03/2009 10:11

MAKE ME DO SOME WORK! it is all piling up with a vengenance...

Kalikaroo · 03/03/2009 10:12

Thanks for the reassurance everyone

I think I'm just going to go with the flow and not get too worried about it - whatever happens I'm sure the baby will be a reasonable size. I'm only 5ft 5" and DH is 6ft 3" so it's certainly possible that the baby will be quite a bit bigger than I was when born (both my parents are pretty short). The weird thing is that though my womb is high and way up under my ribs, my bump itself is actually pretty neat. I don't look pregnant from the back and I'm carrying it all out front. Also, I've only put on 6kg during my pregnancy so far (which is good because I'm overweight anyway at a size 18 pre-pregnancy). I always thought that I'd become massive in pregnancy because I love my food and am already a bit chubby!! I think feeling like death warmed up for the first 3 months helped quite a bit!

surprisenumber3 · 03/03/2009 10:15

Morning!

Nutty, what a late night! Hope you're feeling better today.

Barb - so sorry your c/s has been postponed, hope you get to meet your babies very soon!

Well I feel really crap today Feel sick and dizzy and this morning I could the complete outline of baby (haven't before!) but couldn't get her to move (usually she never stops), so I waited a couple of hours and then drank some lucozade and then she was moving like crazy Actually I have taken quite a liking to Lucozade, won't hurt her will it?

Also, still only put 10 lb on this preg, put on 2.5 stones with other two pregnancies (even though only went to 34 weeks with first one). People have only just started asking if I'm pregnant but I think I'm huge!!

Have so much to do today, my house needs cleaning and I have to go into the City to collect some work to do at home. Have to go in for library time with DS2 and then he has a party to go to after school.

Wish I felt well. Well I will stop moaning now and get on with it

surprisenumber3 · 03/03/2009 10:16

feel the complete outline of baby

Carameli · 03/03/2009 10:30

Hi all, just popping in to see how things are going here. I still have another 8ws to go yet so will be very jealous of you early birds getting ready to pop soon.

Those that have moved, try not to panic too much. I moved with ds when I was at the same stage and once he arrived I did not even care at all about boxes etc etc. I just made sure I had his things organised and things that I needed to look after myself. Dh and dd(3 at the time) dealt with the rest

I am excited to day as the floor guys are coming tomorrow to do wooden floors in our hall & landing. I cannot wait to have a proper floor again. We had builders from last May till Nov so has been quite a while. I sometimes panic that the rest fo the house has no chance of being ready but dh assures me all will be fine. Have all the baby things ready so will survive I am sure

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/03/2009 11:02

Welcome back Carameli! And congrats on the floor! Yay!

Juwesm · 03/03/2009 11:03

Right. Off to MW. Pot of pee. Birth plan. Questions re: homebirth. Wish me luck.

Shame it is windy and rainy.

Schulte · 03/03/2009 11:03

Morning all

Wow, aren't we popular with 3 people joining yesterday! The threads will fill up even more quickly! Nutty, hope you're feeling better and the pain has gone away or at least they find out what it is and treat it. Barbarelly, sorry to hear you're being kept in limbo, how frustrating but make the most of your last baby free day

Now then, anyone here having a Group B Strep test done? I always thought the chances of LO catching it are so slim it's not worth the hassle, but have just heard that a friend of a friend lost her newborn to it She's now getting everyone to sign a petition for this test to be available on the NHS as a standard. If anyone wants to sign it, it's here

Must be off to Sainsbury's now to buy lunch... chicken and pasta salad methinks, mmmmmmmmmm.

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:15

Morning everyone, hope you're all feeling good today

Hi to all newbies, nice to have so many people, it's really getting exciting now!

I'm still up at dad's, staying til tomorrow. It has been a nice relaxing few days. My dad (bless him) has been extremely over-protective of me. He won't let me do anything. If I get off the sofa he asks where I'm going. It's very sweet but a little OTT, poor dad!

I had such an amazing dream yesterday, I dreamt I'd just given birth and checked to see what sex my LO was and it's a girl. I felt so maternal in the dream, like the rush you get at the birth. Since then I feel very protective of my LO and am completely convinced I'm having a girl. Isn't that strange? Does anyne else who hasn't found out the sex have a 'feeling' as to the flavour?

Swaliswan how are you feeling now? Do you think this could be the start of something?

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:20

Barbarelly - (If you're around, lurking at all) sorry to hear you're having to wait. When I had DS they postponed my induction about 5 different times in the space of 2 days so I can totally understand how frustrating it is. Hope you have plenty to keep your mind occupied in the meantime. We're all thinking of you.

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:24

Gee whizz is there nobody here? It took me so long to catch up then I was excited about actually being able to chat for once and everyone's buggered off

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:25

Are you all off checking your cervix?

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:26

[whistles while looking around empty space]

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:28

la la la la la, dum dee dum de dum, laaaaaaaaaaaaaa

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:30

[wonders if that's giggling I can hear]
are you guys all hiding from me, laughing at my confusion?

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:31

please come back I'm getting a bit scared

tristaleejac · 03/03/2009 11:40

[contemplates throwing a tantrum]

kazkiss · 03/03/2009 11:48

good morning everyone. been here a while but has taken me nearly half a hour to catch up!

Smutty as Ju said I suffered from gallstones a few years ago and ended up having my gallbladder out. It does sound very familiar eespecially with the pain going round to the back. could be absolute agony at time. I recommend lots of gaviscon and avoiding anythin remotely fatty to eat.

Ju I cant believe you have gone from asking someone to site your epidural before maternity leave to wanting a home birth! I am very proud of your bravery. Although I think the scariest thing about the home birth is the prospect that I might have to tidy up the house! ]

Checking cervix is a bit of an unknown thing for me at moment for two reasons. a) baby boy makes it difficult for me to bend to wipe externally let alone anything else!
b) I have a big donught ring pessary thing inserted as part of a clinical trial so would probably feel that rather than cervix.

frostyfrekkles · 03/03/2009 11:50

hey trista, just hold on one hot minute with that tantrum missy. i want to join in

< prepares to throw cake at walls of thread >
