When are you supposed to let your doctor know? I will be 7 weeks on Tuesday, but the next day I haven't got a meeting arranged at work is the 27th, will that be enough time for them to arrange the scan and everything?

Can't remember what I did the first time, DS2 was a little bit of a surprise as I was 4 months before I realised! (I know but I did have a 6 month old at the time!)

Had a thought - why don't we add area to the list?

Off for a little spoiling tonight, DP & I live 2 hrs drive away from each other so we only see each other a weekends - that won't be changing either, that's why I am stressing about the twin possibility!

Have a great weekens will catch up tomorrow night x

scarlotti · 14/03/2009 11:22

Morning all

nausea is bad again today those who don't have any symptoms!

Eating does seem to help a little but then 10mins later it's back - am presuming I can't literally eat all the time?!

Our 12 week scan came through this morning for 27th April. Hopefully though I'll be checked a few times before that - will know more after Monday's check up.

newherehelp normally your booking in appointment is around the 8 week mark (think mine is on the 27th funnily enough!) so you should be fine if you go in then. Find out before if it needs to be with your mw though as mine is.

Fruitpastels · 14/03/2009 11:38

Scarlotti - my scan is on the 27th April too!

2littlemonkeys · 14/03/2009 11:54

Hi ladies , is there room for 1 more lol. Well i got my bfp last sat, but has taken me a week to come round to the idea of havin num 3!! So far the only symptoms i have is sore boobs and extreme tiredness, no ms so fingers crossed it will stay that way.

From the due date calender its says my edd is 8th november and that is with a 32 day cycle, but not 100% sure i have got my dates right for my last period.

I have an appointment with my midwife on the 3rd od april, we dont see the doctor here. For those of you who have got there scan dates, have you seen a doctor/midwife first or did it come through the post??

Sorry for ramblin!!! xx

Fruitpastels · 14/03/2009 12:11

Congrats 2littlemonkeys I attended a doctor's appointment and he done some paperwork with me. I got my scan date through the post a few days later, and I'm now waiting for my midwife appointment to be sent as well. It's all so long winded it feels.

becks130 · 14/03/2009 12:19

I got my appointment letter through 3 days after I told my Dr I was pregnant, I was very surprised as I expected it to take weeks. My booking appointment is on the 8th April and my first scan is 22nd April, a couple of days after my ds turns 3. We have decided not to tell him until the first scan is out of the way, hopefully it will be a nice birthday present!

Is anyone being referred to Kingston Hospital??

julietbat · 14/03/2009 14:08

Hi everyone. Just swopped over from other thread. Hope that's ok. Had scan on Thurs - saw cute bean-like shape and very strong heartbeat so very happy! I've moved myself to the top because I have an early due date.

julietbat glad you made it over. Great news about your scan and means you can now relax a little and enjoy it all.

kyte hope your physio can help if it is spd.

belgianbun there are a few of us older mums here and all worrying a little of the possibility of twins so you're not alone. I have a scan monday morning so hopefully that will answer that question once and for all!

helips · 14/03/2009 16:36

Hello everyone, my computer has been on the blink since Thursday and it's taken me ages to catch up, my we are a chatty bunch! Problem is my pregnancy brain has forgotten everything that's been said!

Went to the gym today and told my friend and personal trainer, my friend was really pleased but my personal trainer just rolled her eyes and said 'oh shit', not the usual reaction but she's told me before she doesn't really like kids. Think I've just made life harder for her as she said she'd better go off and read up on the do's and don'ts for exercising when pregnant.

Did something silly on the way home, I'd taken my wedding ring off when I was using some weights and in the car noticed it wasn't on my finger. Major panic! quickly drove back to the gym and got to the car park only to realise I'd put the ring on my other hand! What a wally! Came home and eat a cadbury's cream egg, bacon sandwich and 2 hobnobs, really don't know why I b other going to the gym

Hope everyone is feeling well and enjoying the weekend

Catitainahatita · 14/03/2009 16:39

Hi all,
It's funny that pregnancy symptoms are different with each pregnancy. Like Mangolassi and Belgianbun I didn't feel anything at all pregnancy related until I'd nearly completed 8 weeks. Then only a littel nausea. The tiredness kicked in in the 2nd trimester... This time it all kicked off straightaway, which is how I knew to test (was neay 3 weeks late when I finally tested last time; I whave very irregular periods).

Much sympathy to all those feeling really sick. It does goes away by the second trimester, I promise.

Evening all! Just trying to catch up with all the posts and like someone else said, have forgotten what they said already! Speaking of which, is forgetfulness a symptom of pregnancy? I keep starting sentences and then forget what I'm saying half way through!

Sorry for those of you with no symptoms and worrying and equally sorry for those with lots of symptoms and feeling rubbish. I'm somewhere in the middle I think! I'm feeling totally knackered most of the time and my back is killing me! But haven't really got ms too bad which is good as with dd I had it dreadfully. I also feel as though spd is coming already so feel for you Kyte (sorry if I got the wrong person . Saw the chiropractor today and had to tell her so she readjusted her treatment (she is treating the pelvic problems I have as a result of being pregnant with dd 5 years ago!)

southernbelle77 · 14/03/2009 20:15

Oh yes and I'm VERY emotional too. Realised it for sure, when like someone who cried during Deal or No Deal, tonight I cried during the Colour of Money! Didn't help that I had also been in tears earlier when dd had firstly told me that she 'hated me' (she heard a friend say it in town earlier today and I just KNEW she would say it at some stage!) but then told me that she was very sorry and next time we buy sweeties I can have them all!! The being told she hated me wasn't nice, but offering for me to have all the sweeties is what made me cry!!!

Cies · 14/03/2009 20:19

Evening all!

Hope those of you with ms are coping ok. I don't have any ms yet, which I am slightly worrying about, but I'm only 5 weeks so it could be too early. I feel tired, but I don't know if it's more than normal iyswim. And I think I feel a little woozy in the head, but again I'm not sure if I'm making it all up.

I had a read through all the food guidelines again to refresh my memory, but would have done better reading the Best Before Date on the tin of sardines I had for lunch - 2006 However, they smelt fine and the tin wasn't puffed up or anything, but I have promised DH that I will be more careful in the future.

cupcakefairy · 14/03/2009 20:32

Hi everyone.
Thanks for all the support! It's great to be able to chat here.

Lillee - I don't recall you sounding insensitive at all! Thanks, but don't worry at all...

Catita sorry that your scan was inconclusive too; I hope they'll be able to tell you more next time.

Becks - no my scan wasn't done privately. My GP phoned the local Early Pregnancy Unit and booked me in for the next day.

Well, today has been a very worrying one. We were in London last night to see Oliver (great show!) then today as we wandered round Covent Garden I could feel I was bleeding. Went to toilet and it was bright red blood anyway, long story short we ended up in hospital (horrible as we were far from home) where they told us as the bleeding wasn't heavy I could go home on the train and monitor it etc.

Back in Cardiff now, praying hard that little bean hangs on until next Friday when they can hopefully tell us more at the scan.
We were with our best friends so they now know, as does my Mum. Not how I envisaged telling her, crying over the phone!

Sorry to rant on...and sorry if this makes any of you worry more! Hope all of you feeling rough are being well looked-after

southernbelle77 · 14/03/2009 20:46

Oh cupcake, I'm so sorry. I know what a worrying time this must be for you. Can the hospital not get you in earlier than friday? Really hope everything is ok.

(just out of interest too, was Jodie playing Nancy when you saw Oliver? We went last Saturday and she wasn't in it as had been told to take a week off! Wasn't Rowan Atkinson fantastic? ) - sorry if talking about that seems insensitive

cupcakefairy · 14/03/2009 21:02

No it doesn't seem insensitive at all; it's nice to keep my mind off it!

Yes, Jodie was in it. Even though Sam was my favourite in the BBC show, Jodie really was perfect for the part! But yeah, Rowan was the definite star, hilarious!! Did you have Sarah playing Nancy then? (She was in the top 12 of the BBC show and we spotted her in the ensemble, programme said she was understudying Nancy)

I'm gonna ring the EPU Monday (they're closed weekends) but tbh I don't think a scan before Friday would be much different to the one I had yest (seems like so much longer ago!). Better to wait longer and see if they can see more..though it will be one long week, with many, many paranoid trips to the toilet!!

Fingers crossed for you, cupcake - how are you doing this morning?

Scarlotti: "Eating does seem to help a little but then 10mins later it's back - am presuming I can't literally eat all the time?!"
Erm, I am . Someone mentioned mints, am going to try that.

Kyte - it's NOT FECKING TWINS IT'S NOT IT'S NOT IT'S NOT

Sorry for shouting

Dp thinks twins would be great. I think he can have them himself, then. I'm only 5 foot tall, can you imagine? I'd be completely spherical with tiny little arms and legs sticking out.

I keep waking up at silly times too Kyte! Yesterday it was 4.30am but did manage to go back to sleep after a while for half an hour before getting woken up again! This morning it was 5.20am but finally managed to go to sleep until 6.10am when I rushed up thinking it was Monday and needed to get ready for work! Only when I had stripped off to get in the shower did I realise it was the bloody weekend still so quickly hopped back into bed before dd work up!

Cupcake - I can't remember who played Nancy. She had long dark hair! She was 'ok' but I wish it has been Jodie. Sam was our favourite from the show too so was disappointed not to see her either!

Cies · 15/03/2009 08:04

Cupcake sorry to hear about the bleed. My fingers are crossed for you that all is well.

I too keep waking up early, although not quite as early as you lot! 7.30am here on a Sunday, when the norm would be at least 9.30am. The dog can't believe her luck, she's getting so many walks as I don't want to wake DH up by reading in bed, and I actually feel full of beans at this time.

becks130 · 15/03/2009 09:08

cupcake fingers crossed for you, stay strong.

I know what you all mean about waking up at the crak of dawn, I have been up at 6:30am EVERY morning this week, I'm awake well before my 3 year old son!! I'm finding it very annoying as I am tired by lunch time and I have to go to work in the evening, roll on 12 weeks, hopefully my body clock will go back to normal.
