Hope no-one minds me kicking this one off - 39 pages seemed a bit unmanageable!

Had 20 week scan today. Tiddler unco-operative to start with (although not as bad as DD was - took 3 goes to see everything) and it looks like most of the bits are in the right places. Decided right at the very last minute not to find out the sex. Realised that, if DD thinks she's going to have a sister, that nothing, not even photographic evidence, will change her mind anyway. So stuck with the 'don't ask don't tell' as per first time around and will just have to wait to sort out all the sodding clothes 'til we know what we've got.

Although... What do gonads look like on a scan?! Got a very good look at the hips from underneath, so to speak, and thought I saw two little bright spots, but that could be the sitting bones of course. Anyone tell me what the crown jewels look like on a scan?!

Patchybob · 08/04/2009 20:28

I know its so funny! My name on here is nothing like my real name! I will explain at some point! After all this time on here I feel a bit shy on facebook with you lot!!! Here we discusss so many things that you just couldn't on facebook......well you could but I am too shy in real life!!! Sad hey! Hunny and cheekycel I couldn't find you either.
Anyway have a good evening all, am sure you will be on facebook all night! I am off to eat chocolate!

Phoenix · 08/04/2009 20:39

I've got hunny and cheekycel so have a look who we have in common and you should find them

Phoenix · 08/04/2009 20:40

And i am really quiet in real life too.

dannyg · 08/04/2009 20:42

Hiya all just been catching up, hope all is well. Been ill with cold for week know and wish i could take normal drugs for it. Starting to feel uncomfortable know too feel all tight( if that makes sense?), cant wait till i finish work only 14 days left now. I am a face book fan too will try n add u's if ok, my email is [email protected].

Phoenix · 08/04/2009 20:47

It's hard remembering which real name is which mumsnet name lol. I'm sure we'll get used to it though.

xxhunnyxx · 08/04/2009 21:05

Danny I've just added u

Jenny79 · 08/04/2009 21:28

And I've sent a FBook request to all of you who gave your emails here, so I can also add you to a little group we have going on with July babies

mij re your refund: if you paid through Paypal you're safe, start a dispute there for 'significantly not as described' and explain it's different size, color etc and not fit for purpose. There is NO WAY seller could have phoned Ebay - Ebay admins cannot be contacted by phone, what a lie !
Do take phot of the item you received and attach as evidence in your Paypal dispute. Raise as dispute and escalate same day so that the process starts immediately. This way the funds you sent to the seller will immediately get blocked in their account and they won't be able to withdraw at all! It's a pain, and am sure they'll agree to settle in order to close dispute quickly. Also do threaten them with negative feedback on Ebay! That will work miracles as new buyers also refer to feedback before they make purchases ! Hope this helps

If all fails, keep sellers address handy and share with us, we can then all post used nappies to his/her address come July

xx Jenny

QueenFee · 08/04/2009 21:42

jenny I like that!
Have added who I can on facebook.

How weird to see everyone. I feel all shy!

mij hope they call you back soon

I am fine with sleeping just getting back to sleep when woken by DS is a problem. Have started taking my mobile to bed so at least I can play games browse the web to help me fall back to sleep. It's strange because I am too tired to get up but too awake to nod off. If only DS slept better/ got up later DH is going to get a shock when he has to do all the night visits to DS because I am doing all the baby ones!

dannyg · 08/04/2009 21:54

he he great to see some of us on FB although its gonna take awhile to get used to real names lol, especially with preg brain

Jenny79 · 08/04/2009 22:19

my brain is like mash potato right now.
can't remember a thing. Have my GTT tomorrow and have 4 post-its all over the flat in case I forget!

Post-it locations: fridge door and toilet flush button (both toilets) and on TV remote control (believe it or not)...

Gillyan · 08/04/2009 23:12

Hiya

Dead weird seeing everyone on FB! I don't know how I'm going to remember who's who!

danny I feel uncomfortable too and really tight at times and baba is kicking right under my ribs and I keep getting braxton hicks I think as get a very tight feeling across the top of my bump. And Ikeep nearly wetting myself if she kicks really low! I won't be putting this detail on FB!

Jenny79 · 08/04/2009 23:35

' i keep nearly wetting myself'... lucky you! I do wet myself all the time - oversharing, I know, just being honest
No one told me about that happy part of being pregnant!
thank god though for Tena Lady

MORNING!!!!!!!! I look you up activity when I get back in.

I'm off to see the Consultant today YEYYY!!! I've been waiting for this for ages as last time I was supposed to see him it was his locum. Today is the day where i hope to find out for definate what he thinks I should do birth wise. I am still pretty set on a section but can't wait to talk about it properly....I have heard he is a lovely guy and just hope he lives up to this...I'll report back.....

xxhunnyxx · 09/04/2009 09:20

I also keep nearly wetting myself, if I bend down baby presses in to my bladder and it feels like I wont be able to make it to the toilet in time but then I stand straight and I'm fine.
Also gettin BH but I quite like it, I can see and feel baby really clearly and can make out where/how he is lying. This morning I had a leg sticking out of me and I could feel it too. Gettin a bit scary but really excited to meet him .
activity I'm off to Chester on Saturday for a night away. Will be nice to go to the seaside, hope u have a nice time.

Jenny79 · 09/04/2009 10:18

Lucky you, activity, going away this weekend, for me it's time to evict DH from second bedroom/study/home office/smoking room. We got the paintbrushes and some nice colors and we'll (or better say HE) re-paint and hang new curtains.

DH is traveling every week to Italy, so I didnt dare mention going somewhere for the whole weekend, cause I know he dreads any more travelling at the moment.
Next week he has to fly to Milan on Tuesday, then fly to Crete island on Friday evening to meet up with me for the Greek Easter, then back to Milan for work on 22nd until he flies - again - back in London on the 24th...

Come to think of it, I already feel guilty for asking him to paint the baby room, but wanted to get him a bit more involved in the whole process. Then he can tell the baby how hard he worked to prepare a nice room for him

Having my GTT Test today, so meeting the midwife, so i HAVE TO, HAVE TO, HAVE TO remember to ask for a form for the free £190 grant for mums2be www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=65276174443&h=fatOr&u=gx7U-

This definitely requires another strategically located post-it note...

Gillyan · 09/04/2009 12:20

Hi all. Saw the consultant who was lovely and basically said he had no problem with me having a planned section. He said he would recommend a vaginal delivery in a birth pool to try to not tear. He was so nice though and said he undersatnds it is easy for him to say and I'm the one who has to do it. He said he knows what a bad hospital experience I had also. He said just the trauma of having a 3rd degree tear is warrant enough for a section though fear of it happening again alone.

I've decided to book the section in for 2nd July!!!!! And I can always change my mind if I go into labour beforehand. I keep thinking that I might just end up going for it if I do go into labour before. It's nice to not worry about it now for a bit anyway.

Got to go back on 11th June to have everything explained re- the section.

What a nice man - they were so so busy and sent one of his registra's in and I insisted I wanted to speak to him and they were dead nice about it. He was short of time but I didn't feel rushed and I didn't have to fight for a section at all.

Jenny79 · 09/04/2009 12:27

Well done Gillyan, it's really nice to feel reassured about things like that. I had never thought of pool birth before but I had never thought that I may tear either!

confused.com ?

xxhunnyxx · 09/04/2009 13:29

That's great news gillyan. I didn't know that a birth pool can prevent tearing so think I'll defo have one now. I'm terrified of tearing or being cut, I'd start on the raspberry leaf tea now if I could!

My bras are bloody killing me!!! They're cutting in to me just under my boobs, I take them off as soon as I get home from work but I'm now on the hunt for an extender. I can find them on the web but I want to get one this weekend cos I can't cope with the pain any longer . I would have thought M&S and Mothercare would sell them but apparently not!

ilikeyoursleeves · 09/04/2009 13:42

Hi all, wow things have been moving fast on here! I am on FB too but not sure how I'll add you all? How is it done?

I'm off sick just now, got a horrible cold and I'm finding it quite hard to breathe. I'm also knackered a lot of the time, I wonder if I have aneamia again as I had this with DS. Got the midwife this afternoon so I'll ask her about it and get my blood checked. I'll also need to remember about the £190 grant thingy. DS is out with DH just now so I've had a fab morning on MN and watching the TV My cold is still bad but not really that bad . Couldn't face work today though.

That's great news gillyan, my scan isn't til 5th May but part of that is to size the baby with the possible view of a section too.

Cheekycel · 09/04/2009 13:44

Brilliant news Gillyan! Also, i've wet myself on a coupla occasions and dont leave home without the Tena lady

xxhunnyxx i actually have marks under my boobs where my bras have been cutting me. I was thinking of just getting a bigger size or maybe ones without an underwire? how does the extender work? besides extend that is

This weekend, we planned a big bbq for DP's birthday but now not sure of the weather? My sister says the amount of planning that has gone into this you would swear its the presidents bday hehe. This is our first big do that we're hosting together, as been a "couple" for just over a year, so have lots to celebrate!

Sorry for the long post, think its my longest ever

xxhunnyxx · 09/04/2009 14:50

cheekycel my bras are non-underwired but they still dig in me. The extender just clips on to the bra fastener, bit hard to explain, here's a pic tinytapir.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/bra-extender-all_350.jpg

QueenFee · 09/04/2009 16:02

Just typed a really long post then DD has accidentally lost it all ahh!

Bra extenders - I have seen them in avon or kleeneze. I am lucky because my bras have a massive 6 settings at the back. Highly recommend them as really comfy too. here

I also have a problem when sneezing-say no more

hunny I am also out in Chester at the weekend so will be on the lookout for a similarly pregnant woman!

Any first timers able to up and off for the weekend DO IT you won't regret it.

gillyan Glad your consultant appointment went well. I have mine next week and also need to discuss this and am dreading it. I don't think they have birth pools at the hosp i'm going to and besides IME they are never available when you need them
