Hi everyone one and welcome back BB

Cosmo- glad the appt went ok. Sounds like everything is in order and ready to go when the baby is ready Patience is what we both need i think .... shame Im so bad at it!

Not much update today except for some.... TMI ALERT.....

a small amount of "snotty" stuff thats slightly gelatinous with. Not masses and its not not blood streaked so I've no idea if its show or not...

TMI Over.... [phew]

Thanks for meet up story Diege- shame it didnt work out. Hopefully the wagon one will. Hope your DH has a nice birthday.

Running (well staggering slowly) upstairs t have a bath now. Back laters.

Sounds promising GYo....I had some stuff the other week that was very similar to EWCM, but hardly any really so pretty sure it wasn't the plug or part of it.

Starshinetiger · 14/03/2009 18:42

Ooh, GYo - sounds promising.
I am soooo . My replacement birth pool arrived on Thursday afternoon. Now, stupidly, we didn't inflate it on Thurs evening (both too tired to do anything except veg on couch). DH inflated it yesterday and this one won't stay inflated either grrrr! Have found a 5mm long hole in top side chamber. Will ring Boots tomorrow, but goodness knows when I can get replacement, as have to be at hospital with DS on Mon afternoon, so can't be in all day. You would have thought they could deliver a product in tact. Have contacted Birth Pool in a Box directly by email (they helpfully don't have a phone number ) and have to wait for Boots.com to open tomorrow morning to ring in. So, basically if I go into labour in next couple of days - quite possible as I am 39 weeks tomorrow - my home water birth is out the window.
As I said, I am v. v. v. v. angry - hmm, time for a chill pill methinks!
Deep Breaths!
Sorry for rant.

Cosmogirl · 14/03/2009 19:09

Oh Star - what a ball ache! Sorry to hear that....Can understand your frustration completely. It seems that companies just can't do the simplest of things like deliver a product in tact or as described.....Hope you can get things sorted before anything kicks off labour-wise.

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 14/03/2009 19:12

kay - hope u sort out ebay!!
diege - good shopping u make me proud
gyo - spunds promising
sst - oh no hope u get pool sorted

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/03/2009 19:26

Star - I'm really sorry and not suprised you're so
If I were you, I'd calmly tell them on Monday the exact situation and explain that you thought that you would get a more reliable service by using Boots and ask whether they can get it couriered to you within 24hrs free of charge in order to go some way to putting things right. I'm not sure that they will be able to (especially if they are "agents" for another company) but it's worth asking the question and if they can't arrange that then ask what they can do to restore your faith in them

GYo - enjoy your bath. It does sound like things are starting to happen with the period pain feelings and what could have been a bit of show.
We could have 3 new babies within the next week!!

DH and I have just been putting up the wallpaper border in the baby's room. It is really starting to look like a baby/child's room now - v exciting!!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/03/2009 19:37

Evening all!

Gyo - that def sounds like baby Gyo is on the way - woo! Keping my fingers crossed for you.

Star - that is terrible about the birth pool, what a nightmare. You will just have to keep your legs crossed for a couple of days Hope you manage to get it sorted quickly.

Kayz - I would def go and get it checked out at the docs - thats what they are there for

Cosmo - glad that mw went ok. LOL at boney bum!Is that taking after you or DH?

Ses - forget the water, go for a frying pan - less messy

Hi Tink / Diege/Ohsnap/BB/Kooky anyone else lurking

Had a quiet one here today. popped into town with DH and got some hold up stockings for wedding im going to tomorrow. (maternity tights are too blimmin uncomfortable) Then didnt do much here this afternoon and then me and DH had a nap!

Ive been to the nappylady and got my recommendations for reusables so have ordered my trial now. Just waiting for it to come, Im quite excited

DH is making his fajitas now - he does his own recipe and its scrummy. ALWAYS a treat even though we have them most weeks!

Oops I have rambled for a while now so better stop now

Starshinetiger · 14/03/2009 19:51

Thanks Cosmo and Tink - maybe it's just telling me something - maybe I should just be going for hospital birth.

Starshinetiger · 14/03/2009 19:55

Sorry - just seen messages from Ses and Gruff - thanks ladies for listening to my rant. Ses - I will contact them tomorrow and am going to ask them to deliver it to my local boots so I can collect it from there rather than wait in all day (just not practical when you have a paediatric referral for another child!). I guess I will have to keep my legs crossed. It's more the stress and inconvenience I'm so cross about - if the supplier are supposed to supply birth pools, you'd think they would be able to supply working ones! I can feel how tight my shoulders are with this stress.
Ah well, better go, think DH has fallen asleep upstairs after putting DS to bed - bless!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/03/2009 19:55

Thanks Gruff - frying pan sounds like a good plan!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/03/2009 20:06

Star- Thats rubbish... how annoying...

I've dug out my contact details with a phone number for the pool people we used to get a BPIAB.

I got mine from the Good Birth company who I think are the same as BPIAB. HEre are the details from an order email I had:

Customer Care
The Good Birth Company Ltd
T: 0800 035 0514 or +44 121 314 3387
Good Birth Company
BPIAB

They were really quick- you should be able to get one by Tuesday if you order before 1pm on Monday.

Hope that helps...

Look what I have found here

YAY!!!!!!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/03/2009 21:36

Nice detective work Kayz!!!

Hmmm... just a quick question. Im not quite panicking yet but about half an hour ago I went to the toilet and had a wee. Afterwards I felt a bubbly feeling in my vag and held tissue there and proceeded to having a fair amount of watery substance that did not smell like wee had a tiny bit more about 5 mins after in knickers. Nothing since. No other symptoms. Had period types pains earlier but other than tiredness nothing else right now. Shall I just chill out and see what happens??

kayzr · 14/03/2009 21:39

Did it smell kind of sweet? If so it might be your water's leaking.

GruffaloSoldier · 14/03/2009 21:41

yeah it did! has stopped leaking now though. shall i leave it?

kayzr · 14/03/2009 21:48

I'd leave it until morning and maybe give your MW a ring.

GruffaloSoldier · 14/03/2009 21:51

ok thanks. will do Got a wedding tomorrow. fingers crossed I get there!!!

happynappies · 14/03/2009 21:51

Hi - thanks for bringing me back on board Kayzr... I should have reported in sooner.

Edward James Roy was born on 27th February at 1 minute past midnight; 9lb 13oz; I had quite a long pre-labour, then things moved more swiftly and I managed with just gas and air. After the nightmare birth of my dd it was a totally different experience! I've since had mastitis so have been laid low this week, but Edward is feeding well and putting on weight, he was 10lb 7oz by day 10... as the 'help!!' thread says, the main problem I'm having now is with dd!!

Hope everyone else is ok - I haven't got too long to check, I'm a hopeless wagoner aren't I? If he sleeps for long enough I'll have a proper read and try to work out where everyone is at.

kayzr · 14/03/2009 21:54

It's ok Happy. I had written my reply to you and then something clicked and I checked and I was like "YAY".

Congratulations on Edward!! I hope dd comes round soon. DS1 has and is always wanting to play with DS2.

GruffaloSoldier · 14/03/2009 22:01

Congrats Happynappies! Its early days yet with your DD I'm sure its just her way of coping. I work in behaviour and the positive rewards you are doing sounds good but it sounds like you need to wait longer for it to have effect. I would suggest 2 weeks if you can stand it for that long, it will get better slowly.give it time and feel free to contact me if it doesn't work out

kayzr · 14/03/2009 22:04

Right I am off to bed now.

Gruff, I hope you make the wedding ok. Just cross your legs

Night

happynappies · 14/03/2009 22:07

Thanks Gruffalo - I'm sure I'll be asking for more advice soon, today was a nightmare! Just noticed you've ordered a trial of reusables from the NappyLady - I've been using reusables for two years now, and now have two in them (!) so if I can help at all in that respect do let me know. Sounds like your baby is on the way, exciting!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/03/2009 22:16

Night Kayz!Thanks again!

No worries Happy I am always happy to help! Thanks re reusables!Im really looking forward to using them despite the poo aspect

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/03/2009 08:44
