Kayz - think you just need to disregard everything your MIL says - she is obviously a wind up merchant.
Kooky - pass me some tissues will you - am blubbing away fully to Comic Relief (mind you, I don't think that will pass post-pregnancy - in my experience, the blubbiness just stays with you once you're a Mum).

kayzr · 14/03/2009 07:28

Hello everyone,

I'm feeling a bit down this morning. The weight isn't coming off as quick as I'd like. A friend whose DD is 3 weeks younger than DS2 has been back at a size 8 since she was 5 weeks old.

I found no clothes at all yesterday. Just a pair of jeans in New Look but I have 3 pairs already. 1 in black, 1 in blue and a white pair. So I didn't really want another pair. I wouldn't mind being PG again. The maternity clothes were lovely and I know that if I was pg I could wear them and I'd look all right.

I hope you are all ok this morning.

Any sign of baby GYo or Cosmo???

Cosmogirl · 14/03/2009 07:43

Morning Kayz,

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit blue about the weight loss - it will happen, it just takes longer for some of us than others. I am having the same problem, but it is because I have hardly any maternity clothes so struggling to put together outfits. PJs are my clothes of choice these days!

No sign of baby Cosmo yet worst luck. I really felt like last night could be the night too. Just before bed I had this urge to repack my hospital bag and tidy the bedroom - but alas nothing....Oh - apart from seven trips to the loo.

MW 38 wk check at 3.30 today, so we'll see what the little blighter is up to....

kayzr · 14/03/2009 07:52

I'm really struggling with DS1's birthday. I want to get him a fireman outfit but they are all from ages 3 up.

Starshinetiger · 14/03/2009 08:40

Good luck for 38 week check Cosmo - funnily enough, I had the same urge the night before my 38 week check - was up at 11pm making sure my hospital bag was properly packed (just in case, seeing as we're having a home birth!).
Kayz - we bought DS a 3yo fireman outfit for his 2nd birthday. Will be honest - the helmet and the case of accessories have seen use, but the actual outfit hasn't - am sure he will get into it at some point. On the other hand, the workbench my SIL gave him (hand-me-down from her son and we said was fine as a bday pressie - no need to buy anything) has seen daily use. He not only uses it as a workbench, but uses it as a cooker as well - would thoroughly recommend something like that for 2yo.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/03/2009 08:59

Morning

Kay - I sympathize with your frustrations around the weight loss. Before I was pg I was a size 14 and it's something that I know I may struggle with. It does go at different paces for different people though so don't be too hard on yourself.
I'd also go with Star's suggestion for DS1 - he'll love the accessories and will soon grow into the outfit.

Cosmo - hope all goes well with MW

Star - don't think we've got a guessing syndicate for you. Think we need one if that's ok with you!

Oh, thanks Ses! Now it starts to feel real! It's quite weird, as I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and DS arrived at 39+3, so I've kind of been anticipating an early arrival, but by all accounts it seems that's not going to happen!
Kayz - not liking the 2.10am thing - I don't want my sleep disrupted

Hope you guys can sort a northern meet up. It was great yesterday but also a bit odd when we realised what silly names we all have. Hard to think of us having real names!

Kayz- sorry your are feeling a bit sad about the wt. Im sure once you start riding your bike it will help things along but I understand it beign frustrating

No baby Gyo here yet though had really strong period pains in the night and felt really sick but that passed and I went back to sleep. Feeling achy again this am but nothing like as strong. Will see.

Nesting sounds good Cosmo- good luck with the check.

Ses- how was your spag bol

Diege · 14/03/2009 09:44

Morning!!! OMG STAR I didn't realise you were so close to d-day ; at this rate you'll overtake GYO! Each of mine have been a week early (dd1 39+2, dd2 39+2, dd3 39+1) and midwife says they tend to follow a pattern. Could be any day for you!
KAYZ, am very for you and your MIL. Why on earth would anyone in this day and age make anything of living in a council or HA house?? . She is one strange woman! Oh an d don't get too on the M&P front . Yes, was all geared up to get a bugaboo bee, but the only buggy board that fits is one I've used in the past and don't get on with - the two step type that I think would totally overwhelm the frame of the bee. So in the end went for the safe, though a little dull, option of the pilko pramette in como. It has built in toddler steps so dd3 can perch on, so safety-wise when I have the 4 of them out will be more 'controllable'!
OK, meet-up story...I think I am quite safe doing a 'brief synopsis' as the Nov 05 thread is now sadly defunct, though I keep in touch with 3 of them who are good friends. To cut a long story short, me and another norhterner (30 weeks pregnant with twins)travelled down on train to London for meet-up. Massive communication break-down involving not being met by anyone at venue, caused we think in the main by phones being turned off/problems on tubeline for Londoners, all resulting in a missed meet-up! Things like this happen, so we were (myself and other mumsnetter) disappointed and yes, a bit cross, but made the best of it and booked in hotel and saw London sights etc. I think what really upset me (and still does) was the way that posters from that thread was quite nasty and started attacking you lot who were so lovely and were only being supportive - my fault for even mentioning it on here I suppose!.

Diege · 14/03/2009 09:48

x-posts GYO! Strong period pains sound very hopeful - I def think you'll have a baby by this time next week!
Northern meet-up would be brilliant! Did we think Manchester as somewhere central or am I making that up?

BBisfinallyPG · 14/03/2009 10:01

hey all just chekcing in sorry been a bit absent, i cant get on during the week!

kay your MIL is one crazy lady, what a loon leader, although if i remeber rightly shes the same woman who said you shouldnt have a second because of your DH's dissability, so she is quite clearly a loon!!

hope everyones well, good luck to those who will be popping soon!!

Ive got First MW apt fri so am quite excited, will be 8 wks then as each weeks goes on it feels more real, cant wait to get to 12 so i can tell family work etc, then maybe i'l relax!!

hope your all ok x

tinkhas2scrummygirls · 14/03/2009 11:38

kay !! about mil what a brat
and ebay oh dear!!
everyone is different regarding weight loss!! sure u will get there in the end

Diege · 14/03/2009 11:53

Yay to first midwife appointment BB - that has come around so quickly! How are you feeling (apart from excited!).
Morning TINKS! You would be proud of me - bought another cardi, two dresses and a vest top this morning, and am gearing up for a big boden splurge for dds. All my marking money will be gone then so I can relax and get on with normal life
KAYZ, meant to say earlier that if the price you got for Italian buyer was rubbish, then on point of principle you could refuse to complete transaction if you specified UK only. On the other hand, I sell a lot to overseas buyers, and Italy is really only a few pence more (which they'd pay, naturally) and pretty straight forward as EU. Must get the summer stuff out of loft and start listing myself!

kayzr · 14/03/2009 11:59

Diege, the postage is 3 times what they have paid for the item. My bloody £150 corset sold for bloody £3.29.

Diege · 14/03/2009 12:08

Kayz, I think you are within your rights to refund them (if they have paid) and then cancel the transaction if you want. Try posting on the e-bay thread - they have saved my lfe several times there! Does seem a measly price - are you sure you wouldn't wear it again at some point? (next year's whitby goth weekend?). And of course parcels do get lost in the post...

kayzr · 14/03/2009 12:11

I have e-mailed them to say that I did state it was UK postage only and that it would cost £9.77 to post it. I haven't heard anything yet. I did post on the Ebay thread and all I got was to e-mail them and tell them the new price for postage.

BBisfinallyPG · 14/03/2009 12:12

hi all

KAYZ i would just say sorry but no, cos you made yourself clear, or ask for a uk addres to post to, fair is fair!

Diege!! how hav eyou been! yeah MW apt has come round quickly, im so excited!! have been ok no major probs, a bit of nausea though throughout the day not just in the monrings, but nothing too severe, not had the biggest apetite but thats a blessing!! had a few dizzy spells and am tired enough to fall asleep most nights by about 7!! oh and tender NORKS!!! which DP says have gotten loads bigger but other than that seems to be business as normal! am just holding out to twelve weeks, we've got holiday booked around that time, so will be telling work before i go on hol (figure that it gives time for the dust to settle!!) and will be nice to hopefully have the scan whilst we are off and see parents, family etc to tell them all face to face.

am looking forward to having scan although thats a way off, am wondering though whether i'l get two or just the one, i think if its just the one i'l have a private one too.

feels gd to FINALLY be pg seems to of taken ages!!! although i'l be a lonely waddling wagoner it seems cos you've all gotten to the end result already haha!! x

Diege · 14/03/2009 12:39

BB, you'll never be lonely!! Don't worry on that account, we'll all be around, even if just moaning about sleepless and worrying about colour/textuyre/smell of baby poo.. Sounds like you're having a good pregnancy - I predict a boy for you
KAYZ, I suppose you just have to wait until they get back to you - e-bay really is more trouble than it's worth sometimes.

ohsnap · 14/03/2009 14:29

Good to hear from you BB, and don't worry about being lonely, I'm not even pg yet so I'll certainly be hanging around for a while!

kayzr · 14/03/2009 16:18

I've decided to go and see the Dr. I can not get through the day without having a nap. I don't think it is due to DS2 waking as I normally go to bed between half 10 and 11, DS2 wakes up between 5 and 6. I sleep all night so I get a good 6 hours a night. I was told I was anaemic at the end of my pregnancy and I was taking iron. But MW said to stop taking them once he was born as it would sort itself out.

BB I'll be here, I am addicted to the birth announcments. They are so exciting!!!!
Plus come October/November 2010 I'll be ttc again.

Diege, How is your friend with the twins?

Cosmogirl · 14/03/2009 17:23

Afternoon all,

Hi BB - glad to here all going well with pregnancy so far.

38 week check went ok. Nothing really to report - head 2/5ths engaged apparently but don't really think that means much... Next appt not until 40 weeks now, but hoping I might have given birth by then!

No twinges or anything really yet just really bad nausea (hey, what's new?)...Oh and apparently the baby has a boney bottom! The student midwife doing my A/N had to get a midwife to check it wasn't the head she was feeling.

Hope things get going for you soon GYo, so you don't have to have a sweep - they don't sound too pleasant. Maybe you will have a St Patrick's Day due date baby.

Going to try to brave some dinner tonight but feeling so sick I'm not sure it is wise...

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 14/03/2009 17:28

Hello Cosmo - glad all went well with MW

Kay - definitely worth getting it checked out. I always used to survive on a maximum of 6 hrs sleep but since being pg that's more like about 8 hrs now. I guess once the baby's here my sleep pattern will be all over the place anyway for a bit.

DH is sitting next to me watching the rugby. Ireland are losing at the moment so he won't be happy if that continues...
He's also got into the habit of annoying my by little kicks and pinches (don't worry, not enough to be painful!) and saying that he had to as the baby told him to!!

kayzr · 14/03/2009 18:03

Ses, I think I would pour a glass of water over him and say "The baby told me to"

I have just run to the shop with DS2 in the P&T. DH and DS1 had gone to the post box and I realised we were low on formula. DH didn't have his phone or keys. I got home to find them stood at the door.
