Helloooo,
Kat - that sounds great. Is it known as domino or is that something else? Last time my m/w came to my house once to do my first bloods and then I visited her at the med centre. This was so easy though as it was closer to my work (2 mins walk) than my house (was 7 mins walk). She would have visited everyday after the birth though if I had wanted her too.
Monkeysmum - WELCOME!! We have a stats thread somewhere that you could add your details too. I will try and find it and post a link. I would love a homebirth as my dd's birth was very uncomplicated (water birth at hosp). I promised myself a homebirth second time and planned to hire a pool however we now live in Cyprus (DH in the services) and sadly they won't do one for me here. Are you planning one. I wish you luck with it if so and I am v .
Lynny - Arrgh at your outlaws. That is awful. You are good to have them to your house like that especially if they behave so badly while they are there. Is your dd's dad still in her life too? I would make the outlaws share visits on his time. You were very patient if you ask me. I wouldn't have know what to do. I know I would have been really mad though.
Well off to bed for me I think. DH is already asleep. (two hours ahead remember, we are't totally lazy)

Cooperoo · 12/04/2005 20:04

Stats thread I hope

Cooperoo · 12/04/2005 20:04

Holy cow it worked!!!

Monkeysmum · 12/04/2005 20:26

Thanks Cooperoo I have just added my stats to the list, I am hoping for a home birth I have a home visit by the midwives in a couple of weeks time before it can be completely ok'd but so far so good. I have no idea what they are checking for mind you! I am quite worried about disturbing the neighbours by making too much noise though, bearing in mind that I have heard our neighbour sneezing through the wall before now. Luckily she is very nice but I think hearing me giving birth through the wall might be stretching the limits of neighbourlyness!! I'm not sure i'll be able to look her in the eye again after that!
Lynny I hope your inlaw looked suitably embarassed after being caught out like that! I would have been steaming mad!

bubbaloo · 12/04/2005 20:26

evening all,
katz-your nursery pictures look really lovely.makes mine look rather boring in comparison!
kvg-glad the camping trip went well and huge congrats to mr kvg on getting the job.
lua-im also finding the baby is moving alot less now and has done probably for the last week or so but was told thats completely normal as theres less move for him to move in there now!
welcome to kateegg and monkeysmum
jonah-im also really stuck with the birth plan but thats mainly because im absolutely terrified and im not sure what i want.would be nice to be knocked out, then woken up to be given the baby
pink-sorry to hear your having a rough time at the mo.as for the aches and pains ive also just started to get back ache and occasional cramp in my calf in the morning which is just unbearable.
also finding that not only am i up about 5 times during the night to go to the loo but even during the day im spending more time there than at my desk.oh well...only another week left at work and i cant wait

Sorry Lynny all the strawberries are gone I am trying to eat way more fruit at the moment because Bubba has sucked the life out of my skin and no matter what I do my cheeks are flaking.

KVG - minki's are adorable aren't they I am not allowed to buy any more nappies. I have enough no matter how tempting it is

I got the washing machine - they are delivering it tomorrow afternoon Honestly They make a fortune out of renting places and then piss and moan when you want a basic appliance or a coat of paint Bastards. I really have lost my temper with them this time specially after I thought they had finally come through.

Oh lippy aquanatal sounds great. I used to love swimming when I was a kid. I haven't been in years and years and even used to make excuses that I was allergic to chlorine when I was at school so I wouldn't have to strip off. I might go if I had a wet suit Sorry you aren't sleeping. I don't think I've slept much all pregnancy and haven't noticed any difference in sleep. Though I have always had insomnia. I must say I slept rather well last night though, I was surprised.

Right I have to do some work this week or I am going to fail my exams. So if I disappear it is because I am working. mumsnet is directly linked to my procrastination...

berolina · 12/04/2005 22:24

Evening all. Wow, new thread again!
Will read and catch up at some point tomorrow. Am stumbling off to bed now - my days of lying in have been well and truly over since last week, teaching is going well but is tiring [meant as yawn emoticon]

PinkArjuna · 12/04/2005 22:31

ick lynny I'm not sure about nanny she sounds awful... Strange what we'll put up with. Glad DH is great

Cooperoo · 13/04/2005 05:36

Hi all
Lynny - That situation sounds awful! How upsetting about your family too. My respect for you is growing by your number of posts. What a lot you have had to deal with? And what a cow your ex MIL is. Unbelievable. Even my mum wouldn't go into my room without asking. That is a basic respect. I can understand DH's reasons for wanting to be out but it sounds like you could do with him around to keep an eye on the nosy old bag if nothing else. Dreadful!
Glad about the washer Pink!
Hi Berolina. Hope you got some sleep.
Well I was struck by the insomnia fairy last night too and feel shattered this morning even though dd didn't actually get me up until 7am. Hope the rest of you slept better.

Morning all,

Lynny at your ex-mil...how cheeky...mind you my mum would be like that, nosey madame ...maybe you should write a little message for her for next time - that might make her think, he he he! Know what you mean tho about wanting her support for dd - my sister had a similar thing with her edlest's dad/family...dad couldn't cope with the Down's aspect and left, but his family were keen to still see her, sister only 20 at the time, and our family spread all over so she welcomed their attention at first, and then didn't know how to stop what had become interferring. Luckily for my sis they had other family events that meant they gave less time to her, and now it's almost gone the other way with them not having enough time to spend with my niece...we never quite get it right do we?

Welcome Monkeysmum - so I take it at least one of your sons is a cheeky little chimp then!

Not much to report here...sleeping never been a problem here [slinks away quietly...] although dh may say differently as he tries to sleep through my horrendous snoring ...actually woke myself up with it last night...god I hope I don't do it when I fall asleep on the train on the way home he he he!

redheadmum · 13/04/2005 12:24

hi all

been having problems getting on this site, so couldn't post! Still it's meant I've got on with work.....

glad you missed me Coop! The yoga tape is great. I did the relaxation bit last night, fell asleep on the floor after about 2 mins and woke up about an hour later and stumbled into bed! (DH murmering 'I wondered where you'd gone....') Unfortunately all that good work was undone by Dd who had a v restless night!

The tape is called Yoga for Pregnancy and Childbirth and is about £13.99 on amazon. Sure it will come in dvd format as well.

My Dd momentously (sp?) did a wee on the potty last night. She's funny whenever she does something new like this she is always so casual (yeah, like, whatever). Maybe she will be toilet trained by the time no 2 arrives...

Dd starts nursery on monday - a few mummy tears here methinks.

Monkeysmum - welcome! I'm hoping to have a home birth too. I'm gonna hire a pool too. What about you?

Calling all you ironies - I've found a natural supplement that's not meant to cause the er...inconveniences of the tablets. It's called Floradix Iron Supplement. It's basically a load of fruit and veg and herbs making an organic supplement. Apparently if you need a more hefty dose of iron you can also get organic iron in stronger form....but guess you'd have to ask at the health food shop. I got mine from Holland and Barratt so easy to come accross.

I'm here, and reading, just not feeling inspired enough to post. My head is completely muffled. I need a day at a spa. Tomorrow would be nice.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Will come back later when I've woken myself up a bit.

JonahB · 13/04/2005 12:49

Hi Monkeysmum! You're due on the same day as me. I'll race you .

Lynny, that's so awful yet funny about your ex-mil. I'm so sorry you've found yourself in this awkward position. What a nightmare for you and your DH. It's bad enough dealing with your own in-laws, let alone your exes as well.

I've just had a v. unsatisfactory visit to the MW. My sugar levels are too high, so yet another retest there (serves me right once again for eating chocolate the night before). She can't tell if the baby is breech or not. Then, to add insult to injury after poking me for about 5 minutes hard to work out where the head was, she then couldn't locate the baby's heartbeat. I tried v. hard to stay calm and not throttle her (alternatively, call an ambulance to rush me to A&E so they could check). Eventually, on about the 10th prod, she found it. So everything's okay, but these visits stress me so much. I'm sure they're meant to calm and reassure.

Moan over. Sorry. I know its nothing, but i had to winge....

Now off to the anti-natal class to learn about pain relief. Do you think they'll agree to Berolina's option???

Lua · 13/04/2005 12:59

Hi Jonah! Sorry your visit wasn't exactly a calming experience. I'm sure all is fine! Was this is your usual MW or soemone they pulled out of the street?
So, how are they testing your sugar? Is it a trace in the urine?

Hi everybody else! another uninspired mum here.... It is a yucky day here, so that might be the reason for the lack in energy. I'm heading off for my practical driving test now, so keep your finger crossed!

LipstickMum · 13/04/2005 13:02

Back again,

Welcome Monkeysmum We have anothre 3rd timer on here; Tessiebear, but she's gone awol lately. h There are also a few homebirth girls, ScraggyAggy is one, but she is vey busy with work and off on hols for a week soon, so not around much atm.

Pink, the aquanatal is perfect for creating that much longed for weightlessness in the last few weeks. I had a thought about your 'being naked' in public dislikes... Although I expect you wouldn't be able to wear this in while pregnant, but you can buy suits, along the lines of a wetsuit; long sleeves and legs. I've seen, mainly Asian women, wearing them at the pool, possibly Musim women I suppose who aren't allowed to show their bodies... Anyway, if you really wanted to go for a swim, there are ways and means, I doubt the pool would let you wear 'clothes' i.e. leggings and t shirt. Just a thought

I was so exhausted yesterday, dp and I had a bath and were in bed by 10pm. I woke up once at 1am to go to the loo and that was it - hurrah!! I feel much better today, but I haven't walked anywhere

KVG, I reckon Charley is either;
a) Grouting
b) Messing about with her newly delivered Mountain buggy
c) Caressing and loving her new buggy
d) Making nappies

...

LipstickMum · 13/04/2005 13:05

OMG Lua!!! Good Luck for your driving test!!!

katzguk · 13/04/2005 13:05

Johanb - sorry to here your worries, my midwife couldn't find the bumps heartbeat yesterday either but we both knew s/he was fine because it was kicking her hand!!!
