Haribosmummy they are 5 and 2. Nice kids, but their mum is SO lazy with them it's untrue. That was part of the reason for the split, DP was the only one to ever say no to them, they're getting well-trained here, but still say things like "We never tidy at mummy's house" and "Mummy just gets us what we want"! Little one never sleeps for her, and older one still has two dummies there! They are sooooo well-behaved here, it makes her cross!

I think we will probably wait to get married until next summer, when all the kids will be there. Will only be a small do, current plan is to book when we register the baby... although part of me would like to get married before. In fact, I had a lovely dream last night about getting married with a huge bump looking all radiant!

I must eat something, been sulking resting in bed for the last while.

kitkatqueen · 20/03/2009 22:35

Hi all, Things are a bit chaotic here between chickenpox children and redecorating and house hunting its all a bit of a mare really. hencath I know exactly what you mean about horrible, horrible maternity bras - I always had the same problem with horrible breastfeeding bras that make my boobs look like tennis balls in socks I found some info online which stated that underwires were safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding as long as the underwire fitted properly against the rib cage and did not compress the breast tissue. So I shot out and bought myself some lovely new katie price underwires and had no problems at all because of them. Then when by gorgeous boy was born and I was facing a return into my horrible breast feeding bras kept from my previous stint I chopped off the breastfeeding clips and fitted them onto my katie price yummy underwires!

I can honestly say I will never go back to those pap making maternity bras of the like sold by mothercare ever again!!I just felt so much better in my underwires!!

If you google "underwired breastfeeding bras" there is quite a lot of info on underwires in b/feeding and pregnancy.

Congrats to all you scanned ladies!! my 20 week scan is due on the 1st April., but i'm going to try to change it so that the children can come too, we have been reading "theres a house inside my mummy" quite a lot and they really want to see the baby on the hospitals tv!!

Bed 4 me.... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

TaleofTwoCities · 21/03/2009 13:45

Glad the other scans went well yesterday! How silly is this - I purchased a brand new looking Baby Gap blue duffel coat for new baby today in a sale (£1.50 bargain). Only its size 12-18 months so baby will have to wait until winter 2010-11 to wear it!

Hawkmoth · 21/03/2009 16:25

Thank goodness for enhanced super-smell-pregnancy-sense. DP had a hole in his fuel line today... I was the only one who smelt it, until we opened the bonnet.

Dreamt about giving birth last night, lovely girl with loads of hair... 8lb 5oz... let's see how wrong that turns out to be!

Hope you're all enjoying the sun. I certainly did while waiting for the RAC man!

kitkatqueen my DD loves that book. She keeps asking about the kitchen in my tummy, and because of a slight tweak here and there keeps giving me sweets for the baby! Mmmm.

olivo · 21/03/2009 20:08

just a quick hello from me, hope everyone is ok, havent had a chance to catch up on the thread yet. scan still a month away
really bogged down with work but hopefully will be done soon!

kitkatqueen · 21/03/2009 20:21

Hawk - I accidentally dropped a piece of ice lolly down my cleavage the other day and my dd2 shouted mummy the baby's going to eat your lolly through your tummy telephone. Could not stop laughing!!

LOL!!!

HeinzSight · 21/03/2009 20:35

kitkat @ tummy telephone , genius!!! V funny

OP posts:
kitkatqueen · 21/03/2009 21:27

Oh!! Don't you just love the one-liners kids come out with sometimes???

Go and get the book - its really good...

I will never forget dd1 asking how sponge bob square pants got his name either....

LOL!!

Taleof I do things like that too I have a nursery jumper put aside for ds for when he is 2.5 - aquired when he was about 2 weeks old Was handy when dd1 started school tho - didn't really have to do that extreme school stuff shop and was quite funny when the school handed all the parents a uniform list and i went down it ticking it all off. Oh god - am i a sad case????? I just can't resist bargains!!!![shock!!!!!!!!!

Haribosmummy · 21/03/2009 21:47

Kitkatqueen - that is the cutest thing ever!

Hawkmoth - well done on your super-strength-sense-of-smell! ... Nice that you get on with your DSDs... Mine were 3 and 1 when I met DH and it def. has made things so much easier - we're just family now (and they LOVE DS so much... it really makes me )

Olivo Glad you are ok - don't get too bogged down at work though. I worked until Mid May with DS (he was due on 30th May) and, yep... little terror arrived on 17th (AKA the Saturday when I'd given up work on the FRIDAY!!)

Happy Mothers day for tomorrow!!

HM

traceybath · 22/03/2009 07:11

Good morning ladies! I'm new to this thread and due on 1st August. This is a 'surprise' baby and i already have ds1 age 4 and ds2 currently 14 months so i'm going to have my hands full.

Had 20 week scan last week and looks like its a girl which i'm totally thrilled about - love love my boys but a girl will be fab too.

Will go for an elective c-section this time as have had 2 previous c-sections, one emergency and one elective.

Main worries are that i'll be early as ds1 was 39 weeks and ds2 37 weeks and spent a week in nicu which i'm really hoping won't happen this time.

Saw a registrar last week to discuss birth and he was useless - sweet but useless. I have a lump above my scar which i suspect is a hernia but he didn't even examine me . . .

Have enjoyed reading this thread and happy mothers day.

LittleFairySmile · 22/03/2009 08:31

Happy Mother's Day all. Welcome Traceybath!

Hawkmoth · 22/03/2009 09:47

Welcome Traceybath Congratulations on your girl.

Happy Mother's Day to all the ladies on here. My DD is away on holiday, but my mum sent a lovely picture of her and rang so she could shriek don the phone at me .

My suggestions to ring DSDs mother at 7am were vetoed...

Current bump is giving me a good kicking. I'm beginning to wonder if it starts in anticipation of food! DP making sausages on toast for me

nuttygirl · 22/03/2009 09:51

Happy Mother's Day - anyone got nice plans?

Traceybath - Welcome and @ your consultant.

lol @ tummy telephone.

Dd made me & baby a 'cup of tea' the other day and actually wanted baby to drink it

Well with the lovely weather here today we're planning on finishing off the gardening we started yesterday. Finally got round to hiring a machine to dig over the back end of the back garden. We're turning half of that end into a veg patch and the other half into a play area. While dh was sorting that I planted some herbs in trays and some potatoes in a bag thing. No idea what'll happen with it all, I'm not at all green fingered so they may all just die off

Had mw yesterday. Everything fine. I have a sore throat though and she said that sometimes people just get bugs and stuff throughout their pregnancy so that seems to be me this time round. Am guessing that once I get past the cold/bug stage it'll be onto hayfever

TaleofTwoCities · 22/03/2009 11:48

Glad to hear mw went well nuttygirl I'm on my 3rd cold since being pregnant and seem to be unable to shake them off as quick!

Kitkatqueen - I'm going to see how much I can get 2nd hand for this baby. Having given away alot of baby stuff just don't feel justified buying brand new for a third and final baby. Read an article in the Guardian yesterday on 'credit crunch babies' and saving money - here: www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/mar/21/baby-budget

Hello Traceybath - our 3rd is a surprise too but even dh seems to have adjusted to the shock ok now. Brilliant about the girl, that's nice news.

rightbobbydazzler · 22/03/2009 13:18

hello haven't posted for ages and last time i was ill, tired and fed up so its nice to post when i feel well, alert and happy! have adjusted to the unexpected surprise of this pregnancy i think that now baby has started kicking a lot i feel a lot more at peace!
the other day i had my 3 year old hanging off my neck whilst my 7 month old was bouncing on my knee then the baby joined in and started kicking and it was bliss :-)
happy mothers day everyone!

OonaghBhuna · 22/03/2009 22:18

Happy Mothers DAy, Welcome Trceybath! I am similar situation to you, one emergency and one elective. My scar has been sore the last couple of days but I guess thats due to stretching and boy have I stretched. My bump is sticking out! I dont seem to have put weight on anywhere else, still fit into my normal jeans but my bump is huge.

TOTC- I get clothes from ebay also I am doing swaps with friends. One advantage of knowing the sex is that I can get rid of all of my girly stuff.
Im sure we could even do swaps here. I have loads of babygros and vests that are pink/purple/girly. I would be happy to give them away, if someone wants them.

Haribosmummy · 23/03/2009 07:16

Oonagh - Sounds like a great plan!!

i'm pretty sure I'm expecting a girl and have a 10 month old son... So could well have whole heaps of BLUE stuff to give away

sarah76 · 23/03/2009 12:01

Morning all, hope you had a nice Mother's Day yesterday!

18 weeks tomorrow, and STILL nauseous. Had two puke-free days in a row, and then just a little episode yesterday. I'm afraid to hope it's getting better--every time I've thought so I have a really bad couple of days afterward.

Still stuck on macaroni and cheese, but getting hungrier. I used to not eat anything before noon. Now I'm eating mac n'cheese at 9am! I've also had a serious sushi craving for about a week and got DH to take me last night. I wanted to drink the soy sauce--this salt craving is getting a bit out of control!

nandos · 23/03/2009 12:01

hey everyone!

Hello all...I haven't posted for a while, our internet's been down, so am sneaking on at work .

I hope everyone's well, and bumps are all happy. I just felt my baby do a little fluttery/wiggle-type thing!! This is my 1st, and I'm so excited. I just announced it to all in the office, and even "up-the-duff" boy had the good grace to smile & KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT

Think my kidneys are finally healing. It's only noe i am on the mend that i realise how rubbish i was feeling!

What's everybody who hasnt already had therir scan doing about finding out about the sex? Am so undecided!!

Take care everyone

Ax

BabyBump2B · 23/03/2009 16:37

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a lovely mothers' day!

We had our first spring like day yesterday and it was heavenly! I actually almost cried as we walked in the sunshine - winter this year has been 6 solid months and incredibly depressing!

We have a busy week this week as our scan is on Friday but DH's best friend from London is coming out to surprise him for the weekend and then we're heading to Seattle with another pregnant couple so the boys can go to a beer festival! Really looking forward to it!

Good luck for all the scans this week!

Hawkmoth · 24/03/2009 09:59

AmeNBump... we're definitely going to find out if possible. It just makes things seem more real for me, and we can finalise the names. It's stressful enough with work problems and stepkids and unbalanced exes... will be nice to have a boy or girl bump to focus on and visualise when the rest of the world is going to hell!

DP and I think it's going to be a girl, DD thinks a boy. Either way will be great, but because between us we have three girls already, I may be reluctant to make it public knowledge. My mother thinks a girl would be a disaster... I would not be able to take that kind of attitude on board!

Hawkmoth · 24/03/2009 10:01

By the way marks and spencers maternity sale

Haribosmummy · 24/03/2009 10:04

Hawkmoth - What is it with attitudes like that???? When my mum found out that we were expecting DS, her first comment was 'Oh, pity it's not a girl' ... NO it wasn't a pity at all, I simply wanted a healthy baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AmeNbump - Did the move go ok? is your DP happy???

Babybump2B - Where are you? Seattle is LOVELY!!!

sarah76 - How are you feeling now?

Well, the sun is out again here today, though it's a little colder, so DS and I are going to have a little drive and maybe go to a shopping mall!!
