mamamila · 16/03/2009 15:45

congrats nando! haribosmummy be careful what you wish for re: ms! but no bump? you must have very strong stomach muscles! when did you start showing with ds?

trixy i'm so shocked they won't give you a 20 wk scan. why should having a homebirth mean you don't need the scan? i'm sure i remember some mums saying they would only get a 20 wk scan in their area if they said they would have homebirth! it's so unfair the way the nhs is inconsistent and access to tests dependant on you postcode

Haribosmummy · 16/03/2009 15:48

Mamamila - about 8 months with DS. But, I was obsessed about being PG. Now, life is so busy with DS, I do often forget I'm even PG.

Nando congrats on the boy!!!!! I think finding out the sec makes it SO much more real!!!

mamamila · 16/03/2009 16:09

oh my gosh 8 months, lucky you! I'm such a heffalump when i'm pregnant, see profile photo at 38 weeks...shocking!

but i've gained lots of weight already too, i was a size 6/8 before dd and 8/10 last december but i blame the ms. i was literally eating to stop feeling sick and now i'm a bit out of control. my formerly healthy cravings for fruit and salad have been replaced by burgers, chips, cakes, biscuits, curries, cola..i even had to answer a calling for a filet o fish- the first time i've been to mcdonalds in years. so now i have a horrible double chin and sausages for legs and i know everyone in zanzibar will greet me with a remark on how fat i am, oh joy!

Haribosmummy · 16/03/2009 16:24

Well, yes, I suppose.. but it has it's downsides - like when people say 'you are never 8 months PG'...

No, I just made that bit up for fun!!!

When I was 36 weeks gone, I had problems getting one woman I walked my dog with to believe I was PG at all. I think she thought I was making the whole thing up!!!!

BabyBump2B · 16/03/2009 18:34

Nandos congrats on the boy!!!

Haribosmummy - I am seriously at not showing I look at least a month further on than I am. Very shocking as I'm obviously just going to get bigger!

Sarah I'm hoping this is the end of sickness for you! The midwives haven't diagnosed you with that sickness that keeps going have they?

Only 3 more sleeps till DH is back - hooray! and 11 days till the scan!!!

here's hoping the days fly by!

LittleFairySmile · 16/03/2009 18:50

Wow mamamila you really were big! I got to 6-7 months before showing with DS, but then just got bigger EVERYWHERE. People just thought I was getting fat. My neighbours asked me, when I was pushing my pram out, who?s child it was. When I said ?mine? they said they hadn?t even known I was pg! This time I have a bump already, not even 20 weeks, so feel really happy about that. Also I still have a waist and bump seems all out front so far. Still waiting to get uber fat again, especially as I?m eating so much!!!

Congrats to all getting their scans! Anyone else here not wanting to find out? My scan is 25th so still have a while to wait!

sarah76 · 16/03/2009 21:39

I guess one day's respite is all I get, back to throwing up today!

DH phoned me late morning to say hello, and instead got to hear me barfing into the kitchen bin. He said 'it's great that we can share these moments'.

I finally ate something other than macaroni n'cheese today (though I had that for lunch). Spag bowl for dinner, though I'm not convinced it is going to stay put. Oh I hate throwing up anything tomato-based!

Last MW I saw before the triple test said it can keep going until 20 weeks for some. Am 17 weeks tomorrow. Still three weeks till my scan!

And despite all this, I can't say that I actually 'feel pregnant'. I just feel like I have a bad stomach virus.

HeinzSight · 16/03/2009 21:48

Nandos, congrats on finding out you're having a boy. x

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. I'm feeling pretty fed up. Despite DH's best efforts, he's not having any luck on the job front. It really is incredibly tough out there, he had an interview on Friday and another (different co) today, both said he didn't fit the profile exactly so no job for DH. I feel so cross right now with all to blame for this credit crunch, we never in a million yrs anticipated that it was going to affect us, let alone when we're expecting our 4th child

Sorry for moany post, especially after not posting for a while. I do frequently read other posts.

Am tired but am stuck waiting up for maybe an hour cos the police are coming

Got a lad knocking on the door about 10.20. Dh answered. Lad asked for Michael.

Dh explained there's no-one called Michael here and the lad asked about the car out front...so dh said I think it's next doors (we don't know the names of next door's kids so assumed he was looking for one of them cos lad was only about 17).

Anyway dh went to carry on emptying kitchen bin etc. (bin night) and next thing he hears the front door opening and sees a hand reach round to see if there's keys in the lock - there isn't, we never leave them in the lock cos the keys bend. Anyway dh shouted "Excuse me" and the door shut quickly and lad likely ran off.

Anyway dh phoned the police just to let them know about it really in case it happens to anyone else...and they're sending someone out cos it's classed as Attempted Burglary

Am bloody glad it wasn't me seeing a hand reach round the door mind you my instinct was that dh should have bloody slammed the door on his arm

Haribosmummy · 17/03/2009 07:58

Oooh, Nutty, How frightening!! WHat did the police say?

nuttygirl · 17/03/2009 08:55

Well police came about 5 mins after that post. Basically took a description and said they'd drive round a bit and to call them back if anything else happened BUT that they wouldn't be able to do much cos when the guy reached round the door dh only saw his gloves so no proof that it was the guy who knocked 5 mins earlier.

Hawkmoth · 17/03/2009 09:08

Hope you're alright Nuttygirl. Good ruse by the young criminal eh? There are people in this town that make a living by going up and down streets trying doors, if I were in a worse mood I would be minded to call them 'scum'.

Going to fill in some bits of application form for DP today. Three weeks before his current job ends. I'm trying hard not to be too despondent about it, not much I can do except be his PA, organising forms, CVs etc while he's at work, running his arse off for a bunch of idiots.

Congratulations on the scan Nandos. Mine is two weeks tomorrow, and I can't wait.

Sorry to hear you're being sick again Sarah. I'm dreaming about being sick, but been alrightish for a few days now.

Just need to find a bit of motivation today.

ameNbump · 17/03/2009 09:12

hi everyone...i have a day off from MN, and so much has happenned! Sounds like you've all had an eventful day or 2.

Congratulations Nando on your little boy...how lovely!I'm really in two minds as to whether or not to fnd out the sex...hmmm

I hope you're Ok Nutty that sounds terrible!

I had a pants day yesterday. Ended up hurling my guts up while on a school visit. Tried to drive the 5 mins back to my office & chucked in my lunchbox...I stopped at a green light & drove through a red one . My eyes started going really blurry, so DP had to come and pick me up from work

I've decided to take some time off work, as it's getting a bit stupid now. At least until I'm off al the pills for my kidneys... I long to be one of these beautiful blooming pregnant women that "love every second of pregnancy"

I've got the midwife tomorrow, she wants to check for early signs of pre-eclampsia, but i thought it was way too early for that

On the plus side though...DP s finally moving in . There are boxes everywhere & I'm delighted. Will be so nice to have someone to get home from work to (if i ever actually get around to going to work again!!)

Happy Tuesday everyone

OonaghBhuna · 17/03/2009 10:12

Happy St PAtricks Day

Nutty that sounds awful, poor you and your DH.

Nandos, congrats on the boy!

Congrats to everyone who has had their scan.
#Havent got much time to write these days, kids wont let me.
I am waiting blood results but havent been able to get through to the surgery for two days. Its due to my itching, although since I have been prescribed gels and creams it is getting easier especially at night. I really am hoping that I dont have obstetric cholestasis.

Haribosmummy · 17/03/2009 10:26

Happy St Patricks day from me too!

Hope you all are enjoying the sunshine (it's lovely here!)

Sympathy for all those who are still suffering - AmeNBump - it really does sound like you need a break from work!!

All good here, no news at all, except that DS slept from 6pm until 8am last night (bar waking at 4am for milk, but he was back to sleep by 4:30!!) x a million!!!!!

HM

Hawkmoth · 17/03/2009 13:47

Quiet today ladies. Are we all boosting our iron levels and celebrating with a pint of Guinness?

I'm murderously hungry today. Was shaking before lunch, and still woozy after finishing, so will have to cook something else.

Baby obviously using up a lot of energy kicking me all day.

OoonaghBhuna, here's hoping for good blood results, and also that the itching continues to ease off.

LittleFairySmile · 17/03/2009 14:56

AmeNbump you must be thrilled that DP s moving in! Great news!
Haribosmummy yeah to DS sleeping through!
Hawkmoth hope you got motivated yesterday and that all the food you?re eating is going to baby (I think all the food I?m eating is going to my bum - not going to do baby much good there!!)
HeinzSight sorry to hear about DH's bad luck job hunting. Hope all gets sorted soon.
Nuttygirl how awful, at least it was a failed attempt, if there is any bright side at all!
OonaghBhuna fingers crossed it?s not obstetric cholestasis.
Sarah76 sorry you?re still throwing up

Hi everyone else.

nuttygirl · 17/03/2009 16:17

OoonaghBoona ( can't remember how to spell it!) good luck for your test.

God everything else has gone out of my head...

Apparently the lady in the bread shop saw a lad walk halfway down our path this morning and then turn round and leave. Am wondering if it's the same guy and he got halfway and saw I was in.

HeinzSight · 17/03/2009 16:38

Happy St Paddy's Day everyone!

Nutty - thats weird - would serious freak me out. Hope you never see him again!

Sarah - fingers crossed it ends soon

HeinzSight - I have pretty much given up hope of DP finding proper work before the baby. Not sure what we're going to do but there isn't really anything around and 10 x the normal amount of applicants for everything. I've decided that I don't want to stress myself out about it so whatever will be will be (although if we have to sell the house it would suck with a baby on the way)

AmeNBump - Hooray for DH moving in! Must be such a relief!

Haribosmummy · 17/03/2009 18:01

Gosh - that's Hawkmoth and Babybump2B whose DHs / DPs are looking for work!! THat's very stressful!!

Nutty - that's really scary!! Will you call to tell the police?

I've just booked my anomoly scan for 1st April, so fingers crossed for that.

HM

Hawkmoth · 17/03/2009 18:46

DP works in education and has specific qualifications/experience for a lot of jobs out there. So, not affected by the 'crunch' as such, but couldn't be worse timing. Really feel for you Heinzsight. We're renting, and I earn a pittance so if the worst happens the state would pick up the slack until DP found work.

Hope nothing happens tonight Nuttygirl. He was obviously knocking on to see if you routinely lock your door. I would definitely tell the police, as they may well send extra patrols round for the next few days.

Had a crap day as so tired and hungry that I've not done anything. DP out for the evening now with DSD's parents' evening so I may well take the laptop to bed early, even though I've just woken up from a 90 minute nap.

Haribosmummy my anomaly scan is 1st April too. It would not surprise me if they told me I had an octopus in there!

HeinzSight · 17/03/2009 20:51

Thanks for your supportive posts. DH is feeling a bit better this evening. It's been such a reality shock for him, like you say BabyBump there's 10x the amount of applicant. I have a prediction, DH will have to start a new job days before this LO arrives !

Nuttygirl, I hpoe you have a slightly more peaceful/uneventful night tonight!!

I too have my anomoly scan booked for April 1st! Glad I'm not alone.

Can we maybe comprise a list of anomoly scan dates so we can wish each other luck, I'll make a start, please add yourself on.

20 WEEK SCAN DATES
1st April - Haribosmummy
1st April - Hawkmoth
1st April - Heinzsight
