going 2 take watch 2 fhinds

idreamofbeanie · 13/02/2009 18:39

Whinge alert - I've just arrived home, I'm so tired I could cry and feel sick and dizzy . I need to eat something but just opening the fridge is making me queasy. DP is away this weekend so I have no-one to fuss over me and I feel really pathetic. I just want to sleep all weekend but have to go to a hen do tomorrow - I'm sure it'll be good when I get there but right now I can't be bothered even thinking about it. I've told them I have had a stomach bug this week to hopefully cover the fact I'm not drinking and just hope that'll be enough to explain how rough I look/feel too!

Right, whinge over (sorry! ). I'm going to go and make a cheese toastie, go for a warm bath then curl up on the sofa with a trashy mag.

Hope you all have a great weekend - and hope the new wagon babies arrive soon.

idreamofbeanie · 13/02/2009 18:45

Oh yeah, and a quick question - when did you ladies invest in new bras? The ones I have are already tight and uncomfortable (especially as I am having to sleep with my bra) but I'm only 7+1 and I'm worried my boobs might keep on growing - god I hope not. They already feel painfully overflated -do they feel like this for the whole 9 months?

ohsnap · 13/02/2009 18:50

I had these when I was feeding and they're great as they're not 'fitted', they might be good for you so sleep in. For normal daytime wear I think I upsized at about 4 months and jumped up 3 cup sizes then they lasted me to the end. It was great having actual norkage

lardybump · 13/02/2009 18:52

Sorry idob but they will keep growing, but dont feel bad all the way through... I would change them as soon as they are uncomftable and remember no underwire's. I used primark sports bras as I had to change them so often... Now in mothercare support ones as needed the extra support but only got these at christmas so the primark ones (£4 for 2) did me most of the way through....

Sorry you are not feeling very good but it is a good sign that you have the sickness....

Astarte where are you......

Has anyone heard from NJ?

idreamofbeanie · 13/02/2009 19:10

Thanks ohsnap and LB, I'll go shopping next week. I've eaten a cheese toastie and feel loads better. I don't really mind the sickness, it's very reassuring, it just gets to me a bit when I'm tired and hungry. I'm really looking forward to my midwife appt next week, they help break up the time before my scan.

kayzr · 13/02/2009 19:26

Just a quick post here.

We had a great day in Scaborough. Bro missed the bus we had got on so they got the next one, that was quite funny.

But it has all finished on a sad note. Sister has been charged with child neglect and social services have given her 4 weeks to sort it out or neice will go into care. I am really sad about it, the last time I saw her was last March for DS1's christening. Part of me worries I'll never see her again.

Starshinetiger · 13/02/2009 21:36

Hey All, Can't believe no baby yet between the two of you Ast & LB ! Hope neither of you are uncomfortable.
Kayz - sorry to hear of neice, must be really hard time for you.
Just a quick one really to say - YAY, I'm on MAT LEAVE!!! (well, maybe a couple of emails to send this weekend, but other than that, all finished). Got home from leaving drinks about 30 mins ago and within 10 mins had a call from one of the antenatal ladies saying they've arranged coffee at hers for 2.30pm on Monday, so I officially have my first mat leave coffee date in - yay!
Hope you all have lovely valentines days tomorrow. I just want to sleep!

Morning,

Yay for Mat Leave Star!!!!!

Woohoo for a romantic valentines day!! We have to go to the job centre today, I have to go to so I can prove I exist and that we are married. I can't see why anyone would make up a wife but I suppose people have tried it.

OP posts:
lardybump · 14/02/2009 09:18

Just a quick post to say COME ON ASTARTE!!!

I wont be on much today as it is DP's birthday and we have friends over...

Really hope you have given birth or in the process of doing so Astarte...

Hello to everyone else...

Astarte · 14/02/2009 09:27

40+4

After 2x1.5 hour walks through the park yesterday, to be left with nothing but sore inner thighs from all the hills, I've given up trying to get her out.

If she doesn't come over the weekend, my next appt is Wednesday and we'll see where that takes us. Might not be on MN much, will def text OS when she arrives though.

Interestingly, I've found my chart (for this pg) from when I was temping with LBOT and going on my LMP I would actually be due today!

Have a lovely weekend everyone

LB have sent you an email....

kayzr · 14/02/2009 10:25

OOOOH my valentines day has just got even better. DH rang the job centre to double check what documents we needed to take. I don't have to go. But MIL is giving DH a lift there and bringing him home, she is picking me and the boys up and we are spending the afternoon there.

I don't if I should laugh, cry or run away.

OP posts:
Diege · 14/02/2009 10:48

Morning! Run away I think Kay...Agree, not perhaps the ideal way to send st.vals camped up at the MILS..
ASARTE, having just finished the Janet whatshername book on active birth, she did suggest hour long walks to bring on labour, so you may be right, baby might be staying put for now. Think though that this time next week you will either have a baby or be in labour!
STAR, hurray for mat leave Enjoy your coffee date
Have a lovely day LB!
GYO, your massage sounds gorgeous - like the idea of cushions! Mine has actually been changed to a molten brown mtb one to 'fir in' with their offer - not much difference but the oils they use I think. Really looking forward to next weekend!
Oh and marking is still proceeding thanks...I have til Tues to get them in, so am snatching any chnace I have to mark them. TBH, I wish I had never done them at all this winter, but the money will be nice!
Pop in later!

tinkislittlemissshopping · 14/02/2009 12:59

happy valentines day!!
got my hair cut in toni and guy lovely to be papmered and bought some make up.
dh got me some choccies and a cd

Diege · 14/02/2009 15:33

That sounds lovely TINKS .
Dh has just taken dds out to town, so ploughing through exam papers. I am so sick and tired of marking them, esp as hardly anyone is passing!
Any news ASARTE????
Oh have bought a dress off the Blooming Marvellous website. Had my eye on it for a while but I know they are in administration and getting refund could be a problem. Still, it's reduced now from £65 to £19, so couldn't pass that one up. If drastically not right, will e-bay. Just hoping it arrives now..

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 14/02/2009 16:10

Hi!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all

We're off out for a nice meal tonight and then we're coming back to watch Mama Mia! on Sky box office.

Diege - shopping sounds good. Blooming Marvelous stuff always looked good and fairly reasonably priced. I hadn't had a look on their website since they'd gone into administration but from the sounds of things, it may be worth it!!

Tink - pampering must have been good. I have mine booked for Monday afternoon!

Kay - your DH knows how much you enjoy spending time with MIL . My mum and DH don't not get on but he doesn't really enjoy spending loads of time with her for the sake of it. If it was me, I'd have said to my mum "Let me just check whether DH has anything else planned" which would give DH the option of saying no and providing me with a good reason. Don't know if that makes sense but that's what would have happened with us...

Astarte - hope you're ok. Must be sooo frustrating. Re the tramadol and BF, the official literature says "Not known to be harmful but manufacturer advises avoid." This usually means that logically there is no reason why it would cause problems but they haven't done full enough testing to say, just use it.
Normally in these situations, the doctors sometimes use the drug at as low a dose as they can, if it's the best option and they know it's short term. Don't know if that helps...

I was working this morning down in Eastbourne but am now at home watching John Inverdale the rugby. Will have a bath soon before going out later.

This weekend is a little bitter sweet tbh. Great as it's Valentine's Day and my birthday but sad as this time last year, I got my BFP on Valentine's Day and it made it an dmy birthday so special and I thought I'd always have that lovely memory for every Valentine's / birthday. As it happened, it wasn't meant to be with that pregnancy. At least this year, I am pg again and we can be happy about that.

DH has been v productive today. He's cleared all the garden, put some grass seed down, bought some plants for the garden and heated me up some soup for lunch!

Starshinetiger · 14/02/2009 17:46

Happy Birthday Ses! Sounds like your DH has been treating you well - hope you have a lovely evening out. We've had a good day - DH really splashed out - bought me a new car!! Well - we only have 1 car and it's always been in my name and we had decided to buy a bigger car in advance of the impending arrival, so really, we've just bought a new car, but he asked if I wanted it in my name again and I said why not... then pointed out that he didn't ever have to buy me anything again on V day, as he'd bought me a car (well, we thought it was amusing!!) Now just need to sell the old one - we can't justify being a 2 car household.
Thought I would share with you the amusing things DS has said in the last 5 minutes... (don't read if you're eating!)
He's sat eating his tea and DH has the rugby on (we only ever eat tea in front of tv on a saturday).
DS: Me eat bug
Me: Where did you get that from
DS: My nose
Me: Pardon?
DS: Burp!
Me (to DH): oh, you must be so proud... - DH just laughing!
Diege - see the shock you have to come with a boy!
Then, he was asking for CBeebies, so I started telling him what rugby is and he said - they're having a cuddle (they were mauling), 30 seconds later - DS: He did a roly-poly (one of the men got tackled!)
Anyway, has been making me laugh, so thought I'd share.
No nap for DS today, so hoping bedtime won't be too tough and DH and I can have our lovely Waitrose meal in front of Sex & The City the Movie before it gets too late.
Hope you all have lovely evenings.
Yay for your actual due date Ast - but would keep it in your backpocket from mw if you're hoping for them to aid progress.

lardybump · 14/02/2009 21:50

friends have just gone and we have had a lovely day..... Although dp has not lifted a finger because "it is his birthday", and to top it all he is drunk.............

He promised he wouldn't get drunk but there you go, whey do men always revert back to childhood when they meet up....

I am not too annoyed really because dont believe I will go into labour tonight but did go through a stage of seeing red....

I really have had a lovely day with my friend though she is lovely and is expecting in June...... She has just found out she is having a little girl...

Astarte I have emailed you back but you wont get that for a while because you are going to be in labour (possitive thinking and all that)......

Hi to everyone else. Diege take a break from that marking woman!!!!!

What did you all get for Valentines day?? I actually got a card this year and a box of 6 cream eggs....... Nat calm yourself down.....

kayzr · 15/02/2009 09:02

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DS2 slept for 7 and a half hours last night!!!! It was brilliant, I was so shocked when I saw the time when he woke up. I was expecting it to be about 4!!!
