Am I the ONLY one who has missed out on about 4 seasons of Grey's Anatomy??? The last I saw was a few years back in South Africa, where McDreamy had picked Addison over Meredith - do you mean she's DEAD??? I clearly need to get a hold of the box set, pronto!!

I am SOOOOO full of snot and cold today... not even a hot toddy is helping, and DH and I are both on the couch feeling nasty... perfect weather for it, I know, but it's awful feeling crap when you can't take anything! I suppose I shouldn't complain - a minor cold is the LEAST of my worries compared to some of us on here... Sending lots of tea & cookies your way, Nutty... XXX

Mmmm I could go for a hot toddy myself, but I shouldn't... but mmmm...but I shouldn't...but mmmm

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 02/02/2009 21:04

Course you should Bleu!! Didn't you read that today is the Official Sickie Day of the Year?

this is my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

GP can prescribe oromorph, I think, Nutty. You can take it along with the codeine phosphate and the paracetemol.

night nutty.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 21:49

Nutty - Is your snowman headless or torsoless? Good luck tomorrow.
"Shes like that bird from misery!" Brilliant.

I got the last post, yippee!

BB and Springy - Stop the fighting over men, it's undignified in the heavily pregnant.

Springy - at being treated like that at the station, nasty little misogynistic arsehole. Unbelievable.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 21:55

Night Nutty.

frostyfrekkles · 02/02/2009 21:59

frostyfrekkles · 02/02/2009 22:06

happy imbolc! did you all know that today is imbolc? Tis the light at the end of the tunnel of winter.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 22:09

Hey Frekkles, great news on the flat, what is it like?

Bleuravin · 02/02/2009 22:13

Doing alright thanks. Glad you found a flat.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 23:06

Hi frekkles, I did know but had forgotten. Ironic considering the snow!!

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 07:39

Oh Lordy - a brief flick through recent posts tells me that I not only need to keep up with the speed of posts but I also need to catch up on the entire back catalogue of Grey's Anatomy (I've never seen a single episode - I'm still struggling to catch up with Lost and have yet to start on 24....)

This thread cold become a full time job.

Anyway snow looks lovely today. Going to take DD out into the snow later and try to teach her about farm animals en route (was mortified the other day when someone rode past on a particularly fine horse and she waved and called out cheerily "Mooo!").

Little Minx hid the car keys so DH had to walk to the station this morning. Not a difficult walk ordinarily as the station is at the bottom of the valley but it is a steep winding walk down in this sort of weather. Should have fitted him out with a tea tray and he could have tobogganed all the way down!

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 07:44

Nutty are you feeling any better today? I'm hoping you are better enough to finish off that snowman. Bit worried about him sitting there missing half of himself.

Or perhaps you could just rebrand him as an outsize snowball?

Frekkles great news about the flat.

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 08:12

Morning all, got the snow last night which has made DH all giggly like a child. We only have about 2 inches, but it's quite lovely. Neighborhood kids wereout at 7 screaming and shouting and making tracks all over the cul de sac; they're having a great time. Because we live at the bottom of a hill people are pretty much stuck, the snow/ice is too slippery for the cars to get up, so we're collecting cars of people who thought to come down the culde sac to turn around... A little forward thought people!
Hope everyone is well this morning; I have a fine headache, but pleased about the snow.
Going to make French Toast with maple syrup and powder (icing) sugar for breakfast, anyone else want some?

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 08:52

Morning all

Yay for all the snow this morning - we got another lot last night (about an inch) but even though the roads look better have decided not to drive up to London today until it is completely clear - the highways agency have said don't drive unless it is an emergency so that is what I am doing....

Frekkles yay for the flat so pleased - tell us all about it? And how are you feeling?

Kitty you do need to catch up although don't worry, Meredith is not dead - she just dies for a little bit!!! You can watch s1-3 on YouTube you are about 2 or three episodes into s2 at the moment so not too much to catch up on as Living has just started s5! - LOL at the cars - some people are a little silly! My car is literally sat outside my house and it will stay there until I am absolutely forced to move it!

Puzzle, the boys are worth the fight!!! Nutty you are too nice - although McSteamy might be a bit too much even for you! How you feeling this morning cherub?

Boff any babies delivered over night?

Springy, that is really good news re DP, regular medication will always have side effects when it is removed but as long as his mood wasn't seriously affected by the withdrawal (in terms of anger etc) then that is a really positive step - and wow for the turnaround re questionnaire - huge steps forward!

Oh warning rant alert... there is some news today about calling for changing laws to maternity and paternity leave to make work more of a level playing field basically saying that we should not have as much maternity leave because of the cost to business! (They realise statutory maternity pay is paid by the government therefor at no cost to business at all!!) Seriously! Some people are so short-sighted. Some irritating 'career' woman on Lorraine Kelly said 'because it is our choice and if we want to go off and have 'time off' then we shouldn't expect to be paid for it for a year!!' (yes because all our companies pay us full pay for a year!) grrrr!!! Haven't actually seen the report this morning just on BBC and GMTV but it seems to be very much a 'bash working women' week!

Kitty, I am quite hungry but my eyes are always bigger than my belly and then end up feeling crap when I eat too much!

My bump seems to have dropped a bit this morning - sure it is just the baby moving around but had really really bad pains under my bump and near my fanjo area this morning and when I woke up could there is about a fist size gap between mu boobs and top of my bump - not worried about it just funny when you see these changes!

AuldAlliance · 03/02/2009 09:02

Woohoo, Frekkles, welcome back. In your absence, I have finally washed the nappies, and they are just waiting to be posted (when I can make it to the PO, probably at the weekend). Maybe I should send them to your new address in a wee while? Hope the new flat is nice and will be a good home for you and the baby.

BB, that sounds outrageous. I fear the credit crunch may be an excuse for cutting all sorts of things.

Rant alert: DS's teacher wasn't there yet again this morning. They're obviously getting embarrassed about it, because the classroom assistant was at the door of his classroom, but didn't say anything till he'd gone inside and was happily chatting to his friends. Then she said they were all going to be sent into other classes. I didn't feel like going in and dragging him out, and I had to finish my marking this morning anyhow, so I left him there and came home feeling very, very p'd off. None of the other classes have to go through this, it's such bad luck that it has to be his one.

On another note, I weighed myself this morning and was utterly shocked. I have put on more weight now, with 10 weeks to go, than I had done at the end of my first pregnancy. Have made solemn vows to stop grazing on rubbish and start eating better. I don't even feel that hungry, I just seem to have got into a really bad habit of eating loads (and particularly loads of biscuits ).

Enjoy the snow everyone. Back to the last few exam papers and then the adding up of all the points...
