I don't think they will be too concerned about alienating people. It was designed to prompt debate around the issue and they will be keeping their fingers crossed that it becomes one of those stories that snowballs and takes on a life of it's own (rather than the one day wonder which most of these reports are). So far it's got us talking....

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 15:19

I know I have seen chocolate custard somewhere Bleu. Daren't google it though as DH will think I have truly lost the plot if he sees that on my google search history.

mathsmummy27 · 02/02/2009 15:21

you can get chocolate custard. oh yes.

still snowing here!

girls, I really can't keep up with you - would love to contribute more but the conversation just moves too fast for me.

Hope you are all well.

I am so looking forward to finishing up work and spending a bit of time with dd before baby.

Not sure how I will check in when I am on maternity leave as I currently have laptop from work. Home computer has had its day - may need to get out and but a computer, never mind buying stuff for baby

Bleuravin · 02/02/2009 15:25

hmmm a bit bitter with the cocoa in it... but I'll put it in the fridge and see if it hardens some and tastes better cold...

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 15:26

Fave short film for your delectation, ladies.

Bleuravin · 02/02/2009 15:27

Oh nutty! Shall I run a lush bath for you?

gingersarah · 02/02/2009 15:29

Oh Nutty.... that sounds awful. (The physical stuff is so bad it has even blanked out whatever horrors the evil MIL inflicted on you.) I am so sorry that this is getting worse. Maybe you need a good cry and some chocolate biscuits...

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 15:31

Oh Nutty ((hugs)) really sorry things are getting worse for you - have they given you stronger tablets?

Do you feel better that they are taking it more seriously now? Maybe being in hospital will be the best thing for you?

Don't be sick of being you - you are our Nutty, we all need you exactly the way you are (although maybe without the SPD!) Have you told DH?

Hope MIL didn't add to your pain!

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 15:32

Ooooh Nutty - are you getting proper big snow flakes yet? They have started here, so if you haven't got them yet you should soon. You are only a short while further west than me.

I'm sorry you are feeling so glum, but can you grab a hob-nob and watch the snow coming down? It is lovely.

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 15:33

If I lend you McDreamy (yes Springy he is MINE to lend) so you can have both him and McSteamy for an hour or so (this is also an hour with no ill SPD effects!) would that help?!!!

Bleuravin · 02/02/2009 15:33

Nutty what is you opinion about being in the hospital? Do you feel it would cause you more stress? Can you get a helper at home or something?

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 15:33

xposts Nutty, I am so sorry to hear this. I wish we could all do something to make it better. What drugs are you on?? A nice bath often gets you going according to your posts - could you try that? Then watch the film clip I posted because it's Welsh and I just KNOW you will at least smile.

conkertree · 02/02/2009 15:34

poor you nutty - dont have much to say to help i'm afraid - just hope that now that they are taking it seriously, you will be watched carefully and get some decent treatment (if there is anything they can do).

my feet are very hot.

does anyone remember, talking of chocolate custard, a pudding you used to get in two packets - you made up the sauce bit - either a lemony custard, or a chocolatey one, and then the second packet had sprinkles of crunchy stuff to put over it. remember it well from childhood but dont know if you can get it any more.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 15:35

I have to say Nutty I am not a great hospital person, and as you know I was even on the labour ward, but it helped me a great deal. I was better in there but need my crutches a lot more again now I am out.

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 15:35

Angel delight?

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 15:37

Also could they give you your own room in hospital??? That would help you settle.

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 15:40

LOL - just showed DD the snow scene outside. She's very excited about it all. Declared it 'blanco' (white) and 'frio' (cold) which just about sums it up. But when I pointed at the poor sheep whose coats now have an extra inch of white fluff on top she said "oink oink" .

Definitely a city kid. She may speak two languages but can't tell the difference between a pig and a sheep.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 15:40

You could also ask to have the baby at 34 weeks if it is really too much to bear. Poor Nutty xx

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 15:44

Nutty - it may well be worth a stint in hospital. As Boffin said when she was in, a 'holiday' from the pain might really help your body heal enough for you to get through the next few weeks.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 15:44

Nutty, my MW told me about this for home hydrotherapy use. If you sat in it all day you would save yourself a lot of pain I reckon.

I think it would probably be best to be in there as at least you can be monitored and have stronger pain medication!

Just think if they can get LO at 34 weeks there is only 6 weeks to go (and you will beat me!!!!)

here is some snow in bristol and here is the serial SPD snowman killers
