Oh yay gingersarah that is great news - and think of all the MNing you can do now!!!

On that had a chat with bosses today and they are not only getting 1.5 people in to cover my workload while I am away but I am getting a full time person in to help for the last 2 weeks - also mentioned to let them know when traveling was too much and I could work from home - so think I will (from mid feb split my time 50/50!)

We didn't quite get on to maternity pay and returning to work etc but will tackle that next week - small victories and all that!!!

I think we should ALL get frosty pink furry boleros to wear while in labour... a bit of vintage chic a-la-Her-Majesty can't do the mini-munchkins any harm!!!

Maybe I'll need some killer heels as well... just to complete the look...

{{Mental picture of screaming Kitty, mooing like a cow, naked in the birthing pool except for Bolero and TopShop specials... tee hee}}

I know, I know. I will definitely have to have lots of photographs after you've all been so supportive & helpful now - I owe you photographs

& that's really good news, ginger. How tempting will it be to claim to 'need' to work from home, even if it's not entirely true? Not that it'd be even wrong to do so - it's just a shame that other people's bosses are complete bumheads about the whole thing. It's only right that the heavily pregnant should be able to call some of the shots for their health!

I'm about a 6 in shoes, BB. & I thought that it might look okay just like that. I'll go to Topshop tomorrow & parade around in them a bit to get an idea of how they look & see how much I stumble around

Oh great, BB - what a compliment that you are such a superwoman you have to be replaced by one and a half normal people.

I have been reading birth stories today. I am not sure that was a good idea... although lots of happy endings make me well up there is a fair amount of trauma. I wonder what I can do to prepare DP (other than get us matching fur boleros, obviously)

SpringySunshine · 04/02/2009 17:09

Oh, good to hear that, BB! I was mentally cursing your bosses when I was writing about 'bumheads', so it's good to know that they're finally pulling their finger out.

I think we may have a reception venue now, too!

It's all coming together!

Kitty, I really think that we should all go for that look - if nothing else, those who may be in the same hospital at the same time will have no problem identifying each other if they were all in frosty pink furry boleros & killer heels

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 04/02/2009 17:10

Well done BB! Hooray! That's brill news, you wonderwoman you... Gingersarah is right - they obviously really appreciate you now that you're going!! tee hee...

Nutty - these would be good birthing shoes, don't you think? You can wipe the mess right off!!! AND kick the doc in the nads if he comes at me with forceps... ha ha ha...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 04/02/2009 17:12

Right - that's decided - I'm emailing the bolero company to see if they do a bulk discount...

The food sounds fab at that venue, Springy!! Yum yum!

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 04/02/2009 17:14

Yeah I am not sure how much they appreciate me just yet - will see when we have the 'financial discussion'!!

See Kitty who needs 2 years to plan a wedding! You are doing a great job!

BabyBolat · 04/02/2009 17:14

Not Kitty - SPringy - today has been far too long!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 04/02/2009 17:17

tee hee BB... I wouldn't mind getting married again, shall we make this a yearly event? Planning weddings is FUUUUUUUN!

SpringySunshine · 04/02/2009 17:17

Apparently, although the private room won't be available on the Friday afternoon, the restaurant doesn't even open until 5 - & we'll be there from about 3.30 I think, so they'll let us have the whole restaurant to ourselves before it opens. The financially knowledgeable bloke doesn't start work until 6 though, so DP has to phone back then to discuss it properly with him.

It's awkward finding a venue though, because there will be 4 people requiring veggie food for a start. But that place seems to have it covered & is really close to the registry office, etc.

& I know! I'm surprised at how well it's coming together, although mostly because of MN!

BabyBolat · 04/02/2009 17:18

Christ no - I am still paying my wedding off and it was 15 months ago! I would be on the street if I tried to do it every year!!!

Bleuravin · 04/02/2009 17:19

Lol you ladies are a hoot.
I just bought myself some of this because it's supposed to be really helpful after VB (which I'm hoping I'm going to have)

BabyBolat · 04/02/2009 17:19

So we have dress, shoes, flowers, reception venue all pretty much sorted.

What's next on the list Springy?

Where is DH getting his suit from?
