  • still here

Kitty I haven't seen the snow in the South East. Out here there is snow but nothing that would prevent me driving, so I would get in the car personally (if I could get DD dressed and locate the car keys).

Also having worked in Horsham I know what a bore that train journey from Victoria is.

But all travel reports do seem to be heavily discouraging people from setting out. I think you should look on all the weather / traffic & travel sites you can find and see what the local advice is.

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 11:31

Kitty - I'm with BB, I think it is a bad idea for you to go alone. I'm sure your Dad will understand.

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 11:32

Any way your dad could travel to you or meet you half way?

Just got off the phone with Dad - I'm going to meet him at Heathrow tomorrow for a coffee rather... MUCH better idea!! So DH can grab the shovel tonight when he's home to dig my car out, which will be a HUGE help!

Yay Kitty that is much better!

Puzzle, no, my tummy dropped a lot last night and have been having nausea every 10-15 minutes since about 10 this morning regular as clock work thanks to my last hour timing and LuLu just said to call mw if I am worried - no contractions unless I am very lucky and they are pain free!!

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 11:56

Oh BB that doesn't sound much fun. Is it still going?

Kitty - Hooray for compromise.

BB - Have you spoken to your midwife?

AuldAlliance · 03/02/2009 12:12

Kitty, sounds like a good solution. Glad you'll be able to see your dad and give him a big hug.

BB, if it does stay regular as clockwork you probably should mention it, even if there's no pain.

I've brought DS back from school, where it turns out that the teacher who usually has them on Thurs and Fri when the usual teacher/head is doing admin now has flu and passed out yesterday, so they'll have to go in other classes again.
DS survived, his best friend was put in the same class as him (for kids 2 years above them??) so all went well till someone came to get them and lead them to their usual room for home time; he thought he was being dragged to the canteen (it happened once at the start of the year and it traumatised him) and started crying. But he was OK when I got there. I now have him at home all afternoon because the whole thing exhausted him and he says his head hurts. We have friends arriving at 5; between now and then I have to do a whole lot of work. I think I'll have to gag DS and tie him to his bed for two hours .

The system whereby the head teaches 2 days a week and someone else does the other 2 is just how it works in nursery and primary here. In collège and lycée heads don't teach.

Auld have you written an official letter of complaint, fair enough that teaching needs to be split, you are not disregarding that, but it seems a little unacceptable that even that is becoming impossible and causing distress to the children!

No haven't called the mw yet - was going to have some lunch in half an hour and then if it doesn't go will call them.

Auld can you pop him in front of his favourite toy / drawing / programme to keep him occupied?

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 12:19

Yup BB - you have nothing to lose with a phone call

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 12:21

Ok Ok will call now...

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 12:28

Ok called them - they don't think it's too much to worry about because it is just nausea in isolation but if I start to get pain or tightenings with it I have to go in to be monitored but sure it is fine!

Thanks girls x

I think there must be something in the air today as I am sat here with random contractions every now and then but they have been a VERY regular occurance for me eversince I overdid things on Boxing Day so I am not worrying yet!

BB I would definitely let your MW know what is going on.

Springy that man sounds absolutely vile but well done you for sticking up for yourself and that comeback was classic I would never have managed to think of anything like that myself!

DS was taken outside by Daddy last night for his first encounter with snow and I dont think he is quite sure about it yet! DH did attempt to build him a tiny snowman on top of the bin but after mqaking a pile of snow decided it was far too cold and gave up!!!

Hi everyone

I had an anti-natal appointment today and the midwife was a bit concerned that the baby is measuring small for dates, so I have to go for a scan on Friday.

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 12:45

Hi electra

How you?

Fingers crossed everything will be fine and you can enjoy just seeing you LO again on the scan - how small is the LO measuring?

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 12:45

Is it full moon today? uh-oh!

No - can't be. It's on the 9th - Monday. And then it falls again on the 9th of April (convinced I will give birth on 9th as DD was also a 'full moon baby')

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 12:55

Hi Electra, try not to worry, I know two women who were scanned again as the baby appeared to be measuring small. They both had 7lb+ babies.

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 12:57

wrong thread Puzzle?

I had multiple scans for my supposedly small baby and she was 9lb1oz.
