Is anyone else getting waves of nausea at the moment - got them a bit yesterday but today it is constant literally every ten minutes or so.

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 10:12

Gosh - Boffin that must have felt like a lifetime.

I thought first babies normally took longest to bake. Can't believe your third hung on in there for so long! Hope this one is more eager to make its way out. Or are they likely to give you ean early c-section this time? (sorry if you've already said, I can't remember)

The lurching kicking tum is all a bit too Alien for my liking. Prefer not to look at it.

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 10:14

BabyB - I got nausea again in third trimester with DD and have had bouts of it this time (when I'm really tired).

But every 10 mins in regular waves? Are you timing them? Do you have any other symptoms? I think you might want to keep a close eye on it and possibly call your midwife if it continues.

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 10:14

I too wear pretty much one pair of jeans or a pair of yoga pants around the place. I do have multiple shirts I can wear though and 3 sweaters. (I got a lot of clothes from JojoMamanBebe outlet for super cheap as it's rather near here.) Today though I have no intention of getting out of my pjs and also plan to stay either curled on the couch or in bed as I just have not been getting enough sleep.
I find that to satisfy my hunger the best I must eat boat loads for breakfast -like this morning 2.5 pieces of french toast, cup of milk, cup of smoothy, cup of coffee, and very reasonable lunch, like- sandwich, 2 pieces of fruit, glass of juice or smoothy, a snack in mid afternoon, like tortilla roll with peanutbutter and chocolate spread and a glass of milk, and then I only need a fairly light supper... but then I'm usually hungry again around 10 so I have some sort of dessert. If I skimp on the breakfast in the least I find myself eating ravenously all day (like yesterday).

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 10:16

I seem to get nausea if I have a coughing fit, which I seem to be having at least twice a day. It's not comfortable as my ribs hurt from the cough and the baby constantly pushing at them

Same here Bleu. I really need a big breakfast. Fill my bowl to the brim with Shreddies and a chopped banana and actually feel rather bereft when it's finished. So I chop up a pile of fruit and share it with DD. Graze all day (try to make that carrot sticks, fruit etc but seem to find hob nobs keep slipping into the shopping basket too) and then eat a light supper (e.g. stir fry last night) followed by a yoghurt before bed.

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 10:19

Lulu - DD is a monkey for hiding keys, mobiles etc. I no longer dare put my mobile in silent mode as I would never find it again.

We didnt get any more snow last nght so DH has gone off to work , although it was qute tricky to get out of our road as it is still fairly deep. I miss him terribly today, it was lovely having him home yeterday.

Oh for goodness sake BB, i'm glad I didn't see GMTV this morning, it is all starting to feel a little like persecution.

Auld - I have packed on 28 pounds already with 11 weeks to go. I'm not too unhappy with that though. I had already gained over 40 with DD at the same stage.

Good morning Nutty, how are you today sweetheart?

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 10:24

Nutty - I get the kicky feeling in either my ribs or down there, not together. I'm sorry lovely, but it would seem you are having a starfish.

LuLuBai · 03/02/2009 10:28

LOL Puzzle - the daft thing is I didn't think to ask her where the keys where until after DH had left. The moment I asked her she produced them proudly from her hiding place.

On weight, I am trying not to beat myself up too much about it. Last time I had a lovely big healthy baby so provided that happens again all is well. But I have just found out that I have a wedding to go to about a month after baby is born. The best man is my ex so I would prefer not to be the size of a blue whale for it....

he he he - starfish babies!

Bleuravin · 03/02/2009 10:33

I noticed a kicking on the pelvis the other day... on the inside of my hip bone; it was the oddest thing in the whole world as one is usally not aware of the inside of that part of your body.

Last night while Dh and I were curled up together, him with his hand across my belly, Sprite did one of his normal kick on the left extend armson the right sequences. Dh said 'ello?! is that normal? That was awfully strong...' I laughed and said 'not as strong as they are sometimes when he tries to spring board off my lower left ribs and dive into the right hip...'

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 10:46

LuLu no, no other symptoms, but it is about every 10-15 minutes - will time them from now and see!

Bleu, LOL my DH did the same - about 2 nights ago was gitting big big kicks in my side / ribs area - and DH was like Woah - it's so strong - doesn't that hurt?!! (He got the look for that comment!)

LuLu, tis all about the spanks pants!

Puzzle boo for DH working! it's still snowing here but its that drizzly nasty snow that doesn't stick and just goes all slushy!! pooo

Ah yes, they are a miracle worker those pants. I fear I shall still look enormous cos breastfeeding boobs will be so huge and spanks don't do anything for those, and anyway will need to wear a wedding outfit which allows access to boobs.

BabyB didn't mean to alarm you. It's just the regular interval thing. Labour pains are different for everyone and your GP did seem to think you might go early.... It's probably just normal pregnancy stuff but tis worth monitoring just in case.

Nutty - go for it here although think you may be a little disappointed!

I'm not worried LuLu, with the dropping last night, am sure it is just my tummy accommodating to it's new shape so worth keeping an eye on and will call mw this afternoon if they carry on!

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 11:19

Boffin, I still don't know how you waited that long - I will be sat in the hospital refusing to leave at 41+ weeks if this LO is not out by then!!!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/02/2009 11:21

Morning ladies! Hope everyone had a "decent" sleep last night...

I have SUCH a dilemma I would like your collective wisdom with, please!! I'm desperate to visit my Dad today - he flies of to South Africa for a month tomorrow (If he can get to the airport) but I just can't get there... He is totally snowed in and I'm desperate to see him, my aunt passed away on Saturday while we were away and he's really, really taking it badly... he needs my support!

BUT - As you all know, there is rather a lot of snow around (esp here in Surrey - or should I say Siberia) and all normal trains are cancelled. I could go up to London Victoria and catch a shuttle to Horsham, but that'll take almost 2 hours! I could drive the 37 miles to see him - Our road has just been cleared by the nice neighbours with their shovels but my car is still pretty stuck in our driveway so I'd have to dig it out myself.

I've also been really coldy these past 2 days so don't want to be hanging around on freezing train platforms or stuck on the side of a road somewhere if I do drive... what do I do??? Shall I take the chance and go or stay home? I feel so guilty either way... help please!

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 11:22

I feel all alone like puzzle was yesterday with no one to talk to!

BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 11:26

Kitty,

  1. You cannot dig out your car you are pregnant so you will not be doing that!
  2. trains are a nightmare in London - they are working but only on limited service - check the website and see what they say, SW trains for example are only running a train to waterloo every 2 hours (there is normally 4 an hour from here!) and have asked people not to travel unless an emergency. I really don;t think a 2 hour + journey on the train is going to help with the sickness!!
  3. Is DH at home - can anyone go with you? the roads are Ok one you are on the main road but if you house and his house are risky then you need to be careful!
BabyBolat · 03/02/2009 11:28

My general answer is no you shouldn't go but then he is traveling tomorrow which makes the decision harder!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 03/02/2009 11:28

I know BB! My head is telling me to stay home but my heart says that he's miserable and needs a hug... boo hoo for the snow! It's beautiful but SUCH bad timing...

PuzzleRocks · 03/02/2009 11:30

Did I miss something, BB are you having contractions???
