PinkTulips · 06/02/2009 16:41

well snow stopped and ice melted so being an idiot i took ds to toddler group at the playschool.

spent 2 hours having the ins and outs of my bump discussed and them all deciding for me when i should insist on being induced

on the plus side the local supermarket seems to be having some sort of price war and i got tonnes of shopping on special offer. we're stocked up for the forseeable future as i have now officially decided i'm on strike til kung fu panda shifts...... no more driving along country roads panicing at every twinge, no having to slog my way round the supermarkets, i may not even bring dd to playschool

welcome home MS and LBB, glad to know both of you are doing well and loving your new little men... looking forward to the details to come

dinky, am very of you being able to watch crappy tv... my urchins whinge and whine so much if i have the tv on anything other than kids shows it's just not worth trying, better for my sanity to keep the damn thing turned off.... i miss daytime tv though!

mumoverseas · 06/02/2009 16:52

welcome home MS/FS and little Frankie

Just off to bed, had enough for today. No snow/sandstorm but it bloody rained a bit! Rain??????

Rosie, hope you've been 'done' by now and look forward to reading birth announcement tomorrow morning

Tinasan · 06/02/2009 16:59

Hi everyone, congratulations on all the recent births. I was on the list at the very beginning of our pregnancies but think I got lost along the way as I never had time to post... hope no-one minds if I add in my baby to the new births though?

Enrico Marco was born on Jan 29th, weighing 6 pounds 10. Labour 50 mins which was a bit too quick for me - no pain relief and all very intense! Everything went great until I got home, felt extremely unwell a couple of hours later and ended up back in hospital with what turned out to be a bad infection in my uterus caused by strep a bacteria that somehow found its way in during the birth....lots of antibiotics and a D&C later, am now back home with the little one! Finding it a challenge to adjust to having 2 kids but hopefully it will all come together over the next few weeks.

Good luck to everyone still waiting on their little ones - not long to go now!!!

Hello everyone (waves). Just popping in to see how everyone is doing and update on our names - we like to take our time with these things. Have decided to call our girl Indigo. Will probably get called Indi rather a lot! Will do birth story at some stage.

MrsY hope this is it for you!

KT see you are still waiting. Know the feeling!

Doing well here though Indi was up from midnight till 4.30am this morning....yawn. Milk's in today - only took 2 days! Managing not to sob though admittedly am a bit tetchy.

Will call back later. x

Questionkid · 06/02/2009 17:56

I know Dinky, I know, you're right. I need to be patient. I must admit, I've never been known for my patience though and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting through the longest night of my life for it to be the next day so I can open my presents!! I'll try and chill out. Meanwhile, I'm about to tuck into a bowl of pineapple...

herbgarden · 06/02/2009 18:04

Lovely name MAMA Sob away, I do most days and mostly due to being knackered and what seems to be shouting at DS most of the day - and he's started shouting back am v. v short tempered.

At least we can all comiserate with each other on our lack of sleep. I had a night like yours last Saturday. DD decided not to go back after her 1.30am feed and I was still trying to settle her at 6.30am . It was horrid torture.......

I'm off to bed shortly !......Please let this snow go away soon. I'm bored of it. I need to get out this house !

dinkystinky · 06/02/2009 20:04

Evening all.

Pink - glad you got out and got everything all done and dusted; the only way I get to watch crappy tv is sky plussing it and working my way through it when DS is having his afternoon nap (fortunately he's still a 1 1/2 hour a day napper!) or after he's in bed. Otherwise he is exactly the same as your children - demanding his tv at the top of his voice.

MamaGoose - lovely name. Sounds like you have the post baby blues coming in - I'd say definitely have a good sob, its good to let it all out. Sorry both you and Herbgarden are having trouble with your little girls at night - remember, its just a phase, it will pass (and repeat ad nauseum)...And am sure baby blues come in much quicker when you have a DC or 2 to look after already so you dont even get to nap when the baby does...

Markstretch - welcome home with Frankie. Hope all well with you and your little man.

Also Tinasan congrats on the arrival of your little man and welcome back to the thread. And Rosie - hope you got your turn in the operating room at long last and are cuddling up with your boys now....

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2009 21:15

Aww Herb...I've done a bit of sobbing as well today....day 4 so bang on time. I am very short tempered (especially with DD) as well. Its so hard. We were in the car coming home from a very quick trip to pets at home today and she was whinging and moaning, which then woke DS up who started to do the same. I shouted at her for waking him up ...then felt awful ....she is behaving no differently to how she did this time last week....she's only a baby herself at 20 months, and here I am expecting her to act and behave like a big girl.......its not her fault we've had another one. I feel like a horrible mum . All of us being so tired isn't helping. I was so pleased when she went to bed tonight.

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2009 21:16

sorry - obviously needed to get that off my chest

dinkystinky · 06/02/2009 21:20

LMN - sending you a huge hug! All will be well - you're right that your little girl is still really little; she'll forget that you yelled at her in no time at all (bet she's forgotten already)! Hope you get some sleep in - life always seems so much better when you get some sleep - and give it a couple of weeks and your DD will become the most amazing person in the world to your DS, which will make life a lot easier all round as she'll love playing up to his adoring attention...

rosieposey · 06/02/2009 21:42

Congratulations Rosie ....sleep well

Thanks Dinky x

dinkystinky · 06/02/2009 21:54

Huge Congratulations Rosie - delighted that you finally got to meet Milo John (lovely names) who is a lovely cuddly size! Hope you both get lots of sleep in tonight and recover well...

littleboyblue · 06/02/2009 22:09

Bloody hell you lot. We had dinner, opened a bottle of wine and I thought I'd try to catch up. I tried, I really did, but I have to read like 8 pages!! Not a chance (sorry). So again, congrats on all those lovely babies that have arrived this week! I did start typing personal messages but then realised I'd be here until this time next week! It's all go now isn't it?

I have posted an album on FB with some pics of Luke (only 5) and 2 of me, him and Jacob. Hopefully they are on wall ok......?

My phone is the most rubbish in the world, has lost settings so couldn't get on fb whilst in hospital.

The good news is that I have not 1 complaint about the hospital this time (apart from the food, but that goes without saying doesn't it?)! They were so good and nice and friendly from the minute we arrived, it really did make all the difference. And although I went with ff (we all knew I would) I was very impressed with the amount of time and help the midwives gave all the mums on the ward.

littleboyblue · 06/02/2009 22:11

rosie Congratulations! 8lbs 12 oz is great size. Hope you are all ok. X

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2009 22:13

pictures are lovely LBB.....how was the birth? My hospital was great as well......the care was excellent, but the cleaniless ....no soap in the loo for 2 days . ward not swept or floor washed for 3 days!!

I've put some pics on fb tonight as well.

littleboyblue · 06/02/2009 22:19

Hi LMN That sounds nice! Ours was quite clean, even had floors polished! Well impressed.
How was birth? Ok, I think.... bits of it are a bit of a blur.....
2nd stage was only 12mins so could have been worse. Demanded an epidural and when mw said there wasn't time I told her she was a f*ing liar and to get the drugs man in now. That said, Luke was here 15mins later and eidural didn't kick in at any point at all! Was walking around and in the shower within the hour.....
Think I have a nappy to change and will then pop on to fb to check out your pics.
