mslucy · 05/02/2009 20:51

good luck Rosie.
My elective on Mon was really cool and not at all scary - even DH quite enjoyed himself (words I never thought I'd type)

For me the music was the masterstroke - DH and I just chatted away how much we preferred Dave Gilmour's singing on Dark Side of the Moon.

I am also recovering really nicely and Stanley is such a lovely chilled out baby - a lovely chilled out birth can't have hurt, now can it.

He is feeding brilliantly and if I ever do it again (ageing eggs permmitting) I wouldn't change a thing.

dinkystinky · 05/02/2009 20:51

Nkweto - your photos of your DD on facebook are lovely! She's a real cutie and making me v broody (good thing am heavily pregnant )

Has anyone heard anything from Littleboyblue? Getting worried as she was due to be induced on Tuesday and hoping to be home really quickly so hope all is well with her and she's just too busy being a mum to 2 to post...

OP posts:
MrsY · 05/02/2009 21:03

lbb's mobile no is on her fb page; I've just sent her a message to see how she is...

thom - so sorry to hear your news. Does he have the sort of job you can do on a consultancy basis? Hopefully he can go to a different department or something?

McDreamy - Hope all goes well tomorrow. Surely keeping you scheduled for a nice, calm elective is better than postponing and you going into labour and then having a mad dash to get into hospital? Would you be able to go in the night before, so they know all definately be there?

MrsY · 05/02/2009 21:06

News from littleboyblue:

Luke was born on weds 4th at 12:37am. We are hoping to be home tomorrow. He is well. Weighed 7lbs 13oz. Hope everyone is well. x

dinkystinky · 05/02/2009 21:10

Great news about LBB and Lukes' safe arrival - thanks for checking up on LBB, MrsY...

evening everyone... good news here. I have no infection, they dont know what it is but are treating me for thrush just incase and that is all...... Also mw is going to do a sweep at 39 weeks if that doesn't work they are going to induce me the week after....... But she doesn't think i will still be pg then.... yay...

congrats to LBB and SM.. Good luck Rosie

thehouseofmirth · 05/02/2009 21:46

Thanks for your concern. DH works in IT for a travel company so not much chance of another job there but maybe he'll be able to pick up something somewhere else. If not I think we are buggered but I guess there is going to be so much of this going on soon. Am old enough to remember the last recession and suspect this one will be worse. Poor old DH is taking it all rather personally atm.

Now I'm all stressed I guess this baby will decide to stay whre he is even longer...

Glad we've had news of LBB, it's very quiet without her here, isn't it? I'm assuming they've kep ther in for a couple of days because of the GBS?

rosieposey · 05/02/2009 22:10

thanks for all of your lovely messages am grateful I know I'm just being all silly.
Am so sorry to hear of your dh's poss redundancy hom and I really hope for your sakes that it doesn't transpire
Congrats to llb on the birth of luke glad it all went well.
Well have du's iPhone again socan watch some random YouTube stuff to make me laugh

thehouseofmirth · 05/02/2009 22:21

Good luck Rosie you'll be fine!

chilledmama · 05/02/2009 22:23

hope everything goes smoothly Rosie - hear from you on the other side.

laidbackinengland · 05/02/2009 22:24

Good luck Rosie - will be thinking of you tomorrow .

rosieposey · 05/02/2009 22:33

Well have lost my first place in the morning for op but am more worried about dh being able to get here in the morning as they have forecast heavy snow overnight and in rush hour so he might not be able to drive here oh bugger!

onwardandupward · 05/02/2009 22:39

Hey everyone I still exist

haze of baby hormones wafts past

Yeah, let's stay here in antenatal till everyone has popped, unless we are left with 2 people who have never posted beyond an intro and they never come to update us (bah)

And can I just say that engorgement relief is the best argument in favour of extended breastfeeding and tandem nursing evah. [smug and with engorgement relieved]

swampster · 06/02/2009 01:08

You wouldn't want me to waft past you today, I can tell you - didn't manage to make it upstairs for a shower.

at your boobies, O&U. I have a total greedy feeding monster here who calls in extra pints...

...then falls asleep for the rest of the day.

Only stopped breastfeeding about eight months ago so it's been a bit like turning the taps on, no waiting around for it to 'come in'.

Hello and welcome, new babies [waves]

And hope rosie's CS experience is as goods as mine.

MrsY · 06/02/2009 02:23

Holy Crap I think I'm in labour - ouch!

mumoverseas · 06/02/2009 05:32

morning all,
Pluto, I totally understand what you mean about visitors but at least I don't have that problem here as family and most friends 3,000 miles away in fact, I'm starting to feel really guilty as due to DS's GCSE's this summer its looking like my mother and in-laws won't see LO until the beginning of July which makes me feel terrible although of course we will send lots of piccies but I know its not the same. Friends on compound don't tend to visit in the hospital (difficult as the women can't drive and their husbands generally can't be arsed to go visiting other peoples babies in the evenings when they get home from work) so I'm expecting a quiet few days and just hope my DH will visit as much as he can with our DD and my DS in the afternoon/evening. He only has the day off on Sunday for the birth and will then be working the rest of the week

PT, I'm with you on the gift thing, just a card would be nice.

THOM, so sorry to read about your worries and hope that they turn out to be unfounded. Will keep fingers crossed for you but please try not to let it stress you out x

McDreamy, surely they won't postpone Tuesday coz if they start doing stuff like that they'll have loads of babies piling up. Fingers crossed for you

LBB, congratulations on the arrival of Luke, another lovely name (am so relieved no one has 'stolen' my name yet )

Rosie, in case you check in, good luck for today and try not to worry x

MrsY, oooh, what is happening? update!!!!

KT1983 · 06/02/2009 07:00

MrsY Hope your ok? good luck if this is/was it x

Rosie Good Luck today - Huge hugs x

LBB Congratulations on baby Luke - Glad your all doing well, look forward to some more baby pics xx

DP has just ventured off to London again, so hoping little lady stays put today ( not that there is ANY sign she is going to budge soon )
I have another scan today to check on the growth. Def look more preggers & I feel like a great big lump of lard, so am sure she is still putting on a bit of weight.

Anyway, have a good FRiday everyone & good luck for any more arrivals today. Heres hoping the weekend will bring some more xx

rosieposey · 06/02/2009 07:08

morning all
Well I'm in delivery suite with my stockings on and a
Waiting for my drip to go in. Dh is leaving to get here
now so hoping he gets in ok ! Should hopefully have the op before 11 and am still scared but really excited to meet my little boy

Mrsy! Oh my goodness hope all is ok with you will check in to see how you are doing across the day.

Hope everyone else is ok

KT1983 · 06/02/2009 07:13

Hiya Rosie - Glad your all there & ready to go.
Am sure today will go absolutly perfect, as have all the other's on here that have had there electives already. It must be a great feeling to know your going to meet your little boy in a few hours

Im looking forward to hearing all about him. Good Luck again xx

rosieposey · 06/02/2009 07:47

thanks kt nothing like a bit of drama on my sons birthday! Dh got stuck but some kind people helped him get going again so I think he is going to make it have just been told that it's going to be at least this afternoon till cs now as staff can't make it in and there are no doctors to do it typical my luck LOL am allowed breakfast now though

spottyshoes · 06/02/2009 08:06

Good luck for this morning Rosie, hope your not running up a massive internet bill for DH Feel for you though, I was told 12pm and they kept coming in every hour from 10am with another Emergency. DS was finally born after 4pm! Fab you get to eat though

THOM - what a truly shite time for him to be told that! Not that there is a good one in know, but hopefully Dinky is right and there are more options around for him than just redundancy ((hugs))

McDreamy - Good luck for your pre-assessment this morning

Dinky - My DS runs up going 'Mmmmmm...' which is his build up to a big Mwoah, grabs my hand and then wipes his nose all over it - the little bugger! Or back of my legs with black trousers on leaving my with un-noticed snail trails before I leave the house!

Congrats to LBB and Luke! Mrsy oo-er, hope things are going well.

Lardy - great news on the lack of infection

Hi Onward and Swampy and chucks industrial breastpads swampy's way

KT Hope little ladies stay put for you but only til DH is back

Sorry if i've missed anyone, it's taken ages to type whilst lining up trains and cars with DS Breakfast calls!

dinkystinky · 06/02/2009 08:10

Rosie - good luck for later. Am crossing everything that your DH makes it on time.

MrsY - good luck! Remember - breathe and drink lots of fluids; you'll be fine.

THOM - my sister's boyfriend works in IT too. He got made redundant a couple of months ago but has already picked up a new job (and as an employee, not a consultant), so there is hope. Hope you're not all stressed over there and your DH is ok.

OP posts:
Calico1 · 06/02/2009 08:28

Well done LBB and baby Luke!

THOM - oh what terrible timing for you and your husband, you really don't need that stress. Hope something positive works out for your DH.

McDreamy - are you going to be able to get to Stoke Mandeville in the snow? It's really bad here but DH has (stupidly) just set off to work. I saw his wheels spinning as he turned out of the lane......it's a complete whiteout at the mo.....

I'm stuck in with my snot monster again today as nursery is closed yet again (that's 4 days this week I have paid for childcare and ended up wiping his nose myself!). I've still got work to finish so looks like I'll be up late trying to get it all done.

Good luck MrsY - hope this is it?

Rosie - hope you got some kip last night, looking forward to news later.

chilledmama · 06/02/2009 08:29

wee

mumoverseas · 06/02/2009 08:45

Rosie, how awful to be all ready to go and then be 'bumped'. I hate that, the wait is so scary, I'd rather get it over with. But at least it gives your DH time to get there.
I'm pretty sure I'll be hanging around again this time although they've said be in at 8am for a 10am kick off. Won't hold my breath though but at least they let you eat, that is good news.

Calico, pain about your DS's nursery but surely if they choose to close they have to refund what you've paid?

we have a little bit of normality on our compound today in the form of a half marathon (not normal in my opinion) followed by a fete/fun day. Apparently there will be bouncy castles, pony rides, lots of stuff for kiddies like face painting and games and ice cream, BBQ, schwarmers etc (middle eastern yummier version of donor kebabs) Should be quite nice if I can manage to waddle down to the sports field. so nice to be able to let the kids run around and do normal stuff for a change.

will check in later for updates and hopefully MrsY's birth announcement
