KT, try not to worry. I've been sent to another scan too (38+ now) on Sunday of all days as my bump is too small... This is my second growth scan and in the first one all was well and baby measured average. Ditto the heart rate, mine is low too and baby seems to be doing just fine. Don't you just love how they make us worry for nothing. Although I guess, better to have the extra scan just to reassure you if for nothing else. Hope that you are feeling ok otherwise.

Congratulations for all the new arrivals!

Onwards... can I have one of these births too please... sounds wonderful!

idontbelieveit · 03/02/2009 21:34

KT - hope things are ok. I'm sure that heartbeat is only a tiny bit lower than the norm and the doctor is obviously not going to take any chances. FWIW i had 2 different docs check my fundal height in the same exam and there was a 2cm discrepancy so i would take any measurement witha pinch of salt. A scan would eb more accurate but even that has a +/-10% accuracy. Thinking of you.

Rosie it's horrid being in hospital. i cried and cried on wed when i had to stay in yet another night. You'll be home soon and with your LO! Focus on that if you can.

Congratulations to Elkidee!

Congratulations to Markstretch!

Well done, can't wait to see the pics

MrsY · 03/02/2009 21:35

catstar - I like double initials! Samual S... works well. Any middle names to work with?

McDreamy and Dinky - can I have a husband like yours' please? Think i'm more likely to get an iron!

MarkStretch is up and about, and I think Frankie's asleep as she's texting like mad! She says her daughter that he was adorable! And they've moved her onto labetalol for her bp.

thehouseofmirth · 03/02/2009 21:43

Evening everyone!

Been snow-bound at home for last 2 days with DS demanding constant attention & entertainment so no time for MN. Have tried to catch up but so much has been happening.

So many new babies; it?s so exciting! Congratulations to you all. Good to know that the snow didn?t stop any of the new arrivals although it did add a bit of (unnecessary) excitement to the proceedings!

Lardy, MrsY, Rosie, eejaykay, KT1983 (and anyone else I've missed)sorry you're all having worries but one way or another not long to go now!

McDreamy, I?ve got wipes from The Nappy lady which are fine and only cost £7.50 for 36 which is a couple of day?s worth. Having said that, the Babykind ones look very good so might try some of those. I mainly used warm water with DS but initially made up a spray with water and a few drops of Roman Chamomile, lavender and olive oils. If you look here there are some recipes.

No developments here. thought it might be Sod's Law that it'd kick off yesterday when we would have had huge problems getting to the hospital but it didn't. Baby FC seems very comfy where he is and shows no sign of budging.

Can someone remind how much Raspbery Leaf tea is advisable each day? Shall be moving on to sex and curry very soon and reflexology which I think helped evict DS. not really bothered about going overdue but will very much object to being induced.

MrsY · 03/02/2009 21:53

thom - up to about 7 cups a day, don't know in tablet form...

Who was lbb's contact?

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 03/02/2009 22:09

My life is now so dull I don?t have anything to say I spent most of the day in bed, again! I know it sounds really lazy but the nights are so hard, Tink isn?t sleeping well and the night feeds aren?t sorted yet so I?m wrecked come the day. Normally I?m never on my own but we?ve kept Tink back from the CM this week and the friend who stays when my dad works weekdays had to look after her grandson so I was on my own with her which made sleeping difficult.

MOS, I love your birthplan, I hope you manage to get your own way with keeping baby with you. I think I would be doing the lioness act if they tried to take my baby needlessly obviously both mine were taken at birth because they had to go to the unit, but I would have ripped the throats out of anyone who tried to take them!

Spotty, love the name!

Sorry to hear you had a bad night Rosie. Glad that the lucozade worked though and you didn?t have to be rushed off in the middle of the night!

Congratulations MarkStretch!!!!

CatStar, if I remember your name right it would work, as it?s a different sound.

chilledmama · 03/02/2009 22:12

HOM-I take 4 RLT tablets per day now...2 in am and 2 before bed and I'm 37weeks. As long as you build up gradually, I don't think you can do any harm as all it does (in theory) is condition the uterus to have effective contractions.

MrsY · 03/02/2009 22:18

Yes, thmos meant to say that I don't think you can overdose or anything! Love the pics on fb, by the way. But shouldn't you warn him from eating yellow ice!!!

MrsY · 03/02/2009 22:19

who the hell is thmos? of course that should read thom! Trying to type whilst scoffing chocolate mousse!!!

chilledmama · 03/02/2009 22:30

chocolate...
I keep getting glucose in my urine and MW paranoid that bub will have growth spurt from sugar (DS did) so I'm banned from everything that conatins it that isn't healthy e.g. fruit...It's just not the same though

pinkbabybump · 03/02/2009 23:35

MrsY I was/am lbb's contact but we didn't get around to swapping numbers . I am keeping an eye on her facebook tho for any news

bunsen · 03/02/2009 23:47

Can I be added to the list?
Bunsen - DC2 (girl) due 21.02.09 CS booked for 16.02.09 (age 32, Leeds)

mumoverseas · 04/02/2009 05:13

morning all,
welcome bunsen, better late than never joining us

MS, congratulations, Frankie is a gorgeous name, look forward to piccies.

McDreamy & Dinky, very of you ref your DH's
So now is the time to tell those of you lucky ladies that have already had your little bundles of joy. What (if anything) did you get from your DH's? When I had DD 2 years ago I remember being absolutely gutted and bursting into tears on day 2 in hospital when DH still didn't bring anything, flowers, chocs, balloons etc (although Saudi is crap there is a flower/chocolate/baby arrival shop in entrance of hospital so no excuse) I finally told him a few weeks later how upset I was and he was absolutely stunned and said he had no idea that men were 'supposed to do stuff like that'! Needless to say, everytime we've been to see our consultant and have walked past the baby shop I've looked longingly but I won't hold my breath

Rosie, sorry they have kept you in but you know deep down its probably for the best although it doesn't seem like it at the time. Must be hard being away from your OH and DC's. I'm dreading that part (DD, not DH, he can cope without me) as I've never spent a night away from her before and am hoping she will be ok and will understand.

Mrs Y, chocolate mousse? I so want some mousse now.

TBM, sorry you are having such bad nights and hope things improve soon. You are right, I will fight like a lioness too if they try to take LO away. One positive here is that they simply can't cope with it when women shout and scream at them as Saudi women are so quiet and only speak when spoken to most of the time. They will have one hell of a shock should they try to take him

KT, hope all went ok at your check up yesterday and that you have been reassured officially by now.

right, its my last child free morning for about the next 18 months (when LO will be old enough to start at the compound nursery) so going to make the most of it. Have a good day everyone xxx

KT1983 · 04/02/2009 06:58

Morning all,

Congratulations MS Glad all went well & hugs to you & your family xxx

Thanks for all the nice messages. Well yesterday was a long day, was just sat hooked to the monitor for hours. The aveerage HB is still low - but the Doctor noted that when she moved, the acceleration was good. He seemed sure that it was linked with my low pulse rate. They seem pretty sure all is ok with her, but want to scan me again on Friday.
There seems to be mixed opinions about her weight - The consultant I saw last week said she would be small but not worryingly small.
The Doctor/consultant I saw yesterday, cant believe I have a 6lb baby in my tummy

Im pretty sure that she will be born at less than 6lbs, but I feel a bit more positive that as she has gone term, she will be fine.

I just want her to come out now just to prove to her Mum that all this fuss has been about nothing

Anyway, Im not sure why im up at 6.30am when I dont need to be, so im off back to bed with a cuppa tea. Will check on later.

littlesez · 04/02/2009 07:47

lovely more babies, congratulations to you all. xxx

KT seems people are just guessing her weight? think your right though even if she is less than 6lb, she'll still be full term and healthy. xxx

chilledmama · 04/02/2009 08:20

KT-The whole guessing of weight thing should be banned! I worked with a woman who was allowed to go to 43+ weeks because she was 'small for dates'. When Amelia was born she was over 10lbs!!!!!

lardybump · 04/02/2009 08:21

Good morning ladies. I am going to venture out today if only to get DD out of the house......

Congrats MS what a lovely name..... Hope you all have a lovely day...

MrsY · 04/02/2009 08:34

chilled - Ye gods. It just goes to show that it's all nonsense. I wouldn't actually be surprised if my baby was smaller than KT's!

You be careful out there, lardy. It's pretty damn cold...

idontbelieveit · 04/02/2009 08:38

morning all.
KT - sounds like good news
TBM - sorry yu're having bad nights, sending you a hug.
I hope everyone's ok, have only skimmed the posts.

Freya had her first cluster feed evening last night, constant boob from 7-10pm so i am pretty knackered, must be the 10 day growth spurt early!

MrsY · 04/02/2009 08:54

idbi - hope you get a chance for a nap this morning!

check out the mental thread!

thehouseofmirth · 04/02/2009 09:34

Morning all!

You'd think in this day and age they'd be able to more accurately predict babies' sizes but I really think they make it up as they go along. My friend was told her baby was gong to be 7lbs and she was 10+lbs...

After 2 cosy days at home I've got to take DS to nursery this afternoon and the pavements round here are still icy and also quite slopey. I'm really nervous about it - if I fall over I'm not sure I'd be able to get up again...

Calico1 · 04/02/2009 10:09

Morning all and big congratulation to MS - Frankie is a great name!

I've just spent 24 hours in hospital - though no baby yet. I had really frightening episode on Monday afternoon when I suffered a TIA or mini stroke. I suddenly had double vision and couldn't speak properly (slurred speech and muddled words). Luckily DH was at home due to the snow, so we had an ambulance dash to hospital and I have been undergoing tests, including a MRI brain scan, ECG, doppler scan etc. All tests were clear and no-one really knows why it happened or even if it is due to pregnancy, but thankfully all the symptoms went away again and I feel fine now, though am completely terrified that it might happen again....in which case they'll do an emergency section to get the baby out. All very odd as TIA's are apparently only usual in smokers, diabetics or overweight people over 60..... now I feel very old. Anyone else every heard of this happening in pregnancy?? I am trying to find out more as the hospital staff were a bit puzzled....

Haven't had time to scan all the messages since Monday so hope everyone else is ok?

McDreamy · 04/02/2009 10:11

Oh Calico how scary! Thank goodness you are ok now. If there's anything I can do give me a shout.

herbgarden · 04/02/2009 10:12

Congrats Markstretch and I love the name Frankie.

Catstar - my surname begins with an S and my DS is an S first name.....It has a nice ring to it, honest !

herbgarden · 04/02/2009 10:14

Poor you Calico - sounds very scary. I hope you can find out a bit more even if just to put your mind at rest.
